My daughter Maria booked to take me here for dinner for pre Mother’s Day celebrations. What can I say she chose very well , this place was exactly the sort of wine bar and atmosphere I love . This was our first visits . We had great food great wine and the atmosphere was really great so nice and chilled . And I have to say the staff were really great and very attentive. Look forward to visiting again soon . Thank you for a lovely evening 👍😊

Absolute YUM! My partner and I went Saturday evening for dinner and had the best time. As well as the food being delicious, I loved the vibes in Cotto. We shared 3 starters, had a main each, 2 desserts, a cheese board and a bottle of wine (we were celebrating!) And it came to £150 for all that, which i think is fair because of the quality and quantity... waiting staff were lovely, we had a good laugh with one of the guys in particular who recommended a gorgeous bottle of wine.

We had a fantastic evening at Cotto Wine Bar and Kitchen! The cosy atmosphere, warm and helpful staff, and incredible food made it a memorable experience. The puttanesca sauce with fresh mussels and herb oil was absolutely delicious, and the burrata with endives and hazelnuts was beautifully balanced. To top it off, the frangipane with Chantilly amaretto cream was the perfect sweet finish. My partner loved the rigatoni cacio e pepe too. The wine list is well-chosen, and the prices are very fair. Huge thanks to the team for a wonderful night – we’ll definitely be back!

Delicious, flavourful and well-crafted food in a beautiful restaurant with attentive staff. Really recommend the gnocchi, it was incredibly well-cooked and had such an interesting flavour profile. The aranchini is an absolute must, and the giant olives are also! The decor and furniture is lovely, and at the dinner service it isn't too loud, perfect for a date night/intimate dinner. Would definitely come back!

Food always great. A small menu seems to translate into high quality. Wine list is quite large and I have always had excellent recommendations to go with the food. I love the relaxed venue and atmosphere.

Fantastic food, fantastic service.

Fabulous little restaurant which serves fantastic food and great wines & beers. We booked a lunchtime slot and it didn’t disappoint. Homemade spaghetti dish for mains and scallops to start, both absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience and atmosphere, the most lovely and friendly staff and the owner is very accommodating and stops to have a chat with his customers. We did stop a couple of evenings for drinks only and that was very pleasant too. The amount of people turned away at the door without a booking was frequent, I’d definitely recommend booking online if you want to dine. On our list of restaurants to revisit next time we’re in Bristol.

Came here during the week for lunch on my own while travelling back from Exeter to Manchester. It was really lovely! I felt welcome on my own at the table. I think I had the pasta all Sorrentina, which might be my new favourite. Thanks!

Lovely food from a delightful menu. The small menu is refreshing and well done. Our group had choices from nearly all of the set menu and each option was delicious. The set menu was superb and reasonably priced for the excellent quality of the food. Likewise there were excellent wine choices and the carafe was well priced. The atmosphere was nice and the waiters were polite. 10/10 would recommend. We will be coming back!

Had some unreal pistachio & pesto arancini here followed by equally cracking mains, our server Will was so good I had to get a picture!

Food is amazing, a bit too tiny place, but still wonderful

We had walked past this place a few times during our time in Bristol. We walked up just as they had opened and had requested a table for 2. They said they’d look to see if we could be seated—nobody was there. I guess they may take reservations only? Regardless we had ordered 2 delicious pasta dishes and bread. They were absolutely delicious.

We came for my brothers birthday and it’s now one of my all time favourite restaurants! The staff are so lovely, the atmosphere is great and the food is unreal! The pasta is so fresh and the sauce was banging, I honestly can’t get this restaurant out of my mind. Already planning a return trip

Service, amazing cocktails and incredible food. You want all of this in the centre of Bristol, you NEED to visit this place. Stopped in for a celebratory birthday bottle of wine and was looked after in an incredible way. The team there are attentive, knowledgable and just wonderful. I noticed they also do private hire as well, I will be looking into this for an upcoming family celebration also. If you get the chance to get the main man himself Dom to make you a Negroni, you need to take him up on that. Thank you guys for helping me celebrate my birthday, and you have an amazing place here. If you are in the city centre, and you want to enjoy a drink, some food or even a coffee with a great location and outside seating, get down there. Great place, give it a go. Highly recommend.

We had and amzing anniversary meal at cotto. Beautiful wine and delicious food and lovely service from Shannon and Indya. We will definitely be back and look forward to it. The lamb Ragu was lovely however I just wish there more lamb in it.

Went here for dinner with my daughter. Most of the menu is vegetarian so it probably wasn’t a very clever choice for me. I had their lasagna but it was tiny - the rest of the plate being filled with lettuce leaves. I felt rather like I’d been ripped off for a £17 plate. Can’t fault the service. We were seated on stools at a window bar which wasn’t very conducive to catching up with my daughter & made it feel a bit fast food.

Pretty dece Italian food and wines here. Wine selection was pretty impressive. The vibes inside are ace and the service was nice. Menu was good. Definitely recommend for a date or small groups.

The atmosphere was quite lovely, and the food was generally very delicious. The dish I ordered for my main was particularly delightful, I must say. However, my partner's selection was just okay. The staff were remarkably friendly as well!

What a delightful evening! I booked a private event of 4 courses for my sisters hen party and was so pleased with how everything turned out. Shannon, Imogen and the chefs were absolutely fantastic. Shannon kept everything running smoothly throughout and helped us set up the space 30 mins before. As a Cotto regular, the food was as delicious as every other visit and the wine was a wonderful pairing. If you are looking to plan an event or just go for a meal out, I would highly recommend.

Too good. The best lasagna I’ve ever had. The panna cotta was amazing. Excellent service.

Although the food was delicious, we felt very rushed by the servers throughout our meal. We were finished within 45 minutes despite having drinks, a starter, main and dessert because everything was served and taken away very quickly whilst also cleaning up around us. Not a great way to celebrate our 8th anniversary.

We booked here as we were attending a concert in the area. After some trouble finding the place we both remarked that it reminded us of some of the understated but excellent restaurants we visited in London in the 1990’s. Not overly fussy, but a very nice look and feel. Food was superb, service spot on. Thanks again. Back soon!

We booked this restaurant from a recommendation and before they launched their January offer, so to find they had such a good deal was a lovely surprise. The caponata bruschetta was amazing, I could happily eat that forevermore. I had the squash, pecan and blue cheese Bucatini which although was delish needed a touch more seasoning and blue cheese, hubby's beef shin lasagne though was perfection. The house white that came with the offer was not good, and I opted for a large glass of the Grüner Veltliner which was very good, and well worth the price. Wish we had room for dessert, as they too sounded o good.

Wow! Wow! Wow! We are here for the evening to see a band at the O2 arena here in Bristol. Needed somewhere to eat and thank goodness we stubbled on this place! Service: excellent… Food??? Out of this world! Cannot fault this place at all!!! 10/10

I absolutely love Cotto Wine Bar & Kitchen and I keep coming back with friends. Cotto is the perfect place for stunning food, amazing wine and ambience. One of my absolute favourite places in Bristol. Highly recommended. Perfect.

Asked for a Grigio or savignion however it sadly wasn’t in so asked a recommendation from India and she really came through recommending a glass that fit my vibe perfectly :)

Not sure this wine bar has a full kitchen - I think they are heating up pre cooked food on heated plates. That said the starter of burrata and mushrooms was excellent. The chicken pasta was good, but the carbonara was very disappointing and nothing like the original Pasta Loco Carbonara - it’s thick spaghetti with a thick odd tasting sauce and tiny bits of hard bacon (half fatty). Interior cheap and chilly - but the emperors new clothes springs to mind.

Love this place. Really delicious food and great drinks. What’s not to love?

Simplicity with sophistication. The ambience is simple and welcoming. The food is impeccable and the wine stunning. A wonderful ‘neighbourhood Italian’ in the centre of Bristol providing something different to the ‘hum-drum’.

My second time at this restaurant, love it so much! Such lovely food and wine and a great atmosphere. We had a couple of pasta dishes to share. We didn't have dessert but the options looked really great. The staff are lovely as well, can't recommend enough!

Was a lovely place. The best prawns I have ever tasted. Plus the pasta was so good, will go there again soon.

Today’s special drink list is 10 out of 10. White wine is very flowery but not sweet. Orange wine is crispy and fresh, kinda like Prosecco. Red one is full of flavors and has a amazing finishing! Food is so good too. The scallops starter almost the best one I had in Bristol. The source on the top is incredible. We even reordered one plate sourdough bread to enjoy every drop of it. Pastas are great as well. A fly in the ointment is dessert. The lavender pana cotta is not smooth and there is a very strong almond flavor in pistachio gelato. But I think the texture is good. You’ll like it if you enjoy almond.

We visited Cotto for our company summer lunch, the service was brilliant and the food was outstanding, thank you Cotto for looking after us.

Such a disappointment. Having read Jay Rayner’s review in The Guardian, and looked at the online sample menu we booked a table to celebrate our son’s graduation. We came down from Manchester (where we often go to Erst), looking forward to what we had imagined would be something similar to our favourite Ardwick ‘wine bar and kirchen’. We sat down and to our dismay the ‘mains’ were all pasta dishes. Dispute three of the six dishes on the sample menu being ‘non-pasta’ fare, the reality proved different. We’d booked and therefore stood to lose our deposit if we’d decided not to stay. So, an ok Italian meal of fried artichoke (we’d just had a much nicer steamed version in Erst last week), ham and peach (pic-nic food), panzanella (fried bread with cherry tomatoes) and two nice scallops followed by four pasta dishes with crabmeat, a few mussels and some pealed tomatoes. Washed down with an ok Verdicchio. We had one frangipan tart (like Bakewell near where we come from) and an Amaro to finish off. It was all fine, but we got a bill for £178 for 4 which merits something a bit finer in my book. Like I say, disappointing. If we hadn’t booked in advance and had just stumbled across it and read todays menu of pasta, pasta, pasta, we wouldn’t have gone in. If you like pasta, it’s quite nice, but you can get more choice of good quality pasta dishes in some other places (v.Sud Pasta, Manchester). If you were hoping for a nice rabbit ragú or pork belly etc which was on their sample menu a few weeks ago when we booked, think twice!

Absolutely amazing experience from the moment we walked in. We were suppose to go to pasta loco but unfortunately they shut down this week so moved us here (sister restaurant) but we are so glad! From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing, we tried 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts from a small menu that changes weekly. All were packed with individual flavour and good portion sizes for decent prices. The drinks were also lovely and the ambience is bustling and has a good vibe but also easy to chat and enjoy your meal. I will definitely return with friend and be visiting their two other restaurants.

We went to Cotto for my birthday have passed by and thought it looked nice and I do love Italian food! So we had a lovely meal I liked the atmosphere and the staff were nice. Nice wine. I had fried artichokes for my starter which was really delicious with a honey dressing. Main course pasta with a simple but tasty sauce and perfect al dente pasta . The only issue we both had...my partner had a different pasta dish....was that yes I get the simplicity thing but it got a wee bit boring and samey. There were no salads or veg dishes on the menu for a side dish and we both felt it would have benefitted from that just to lift it a bit. We commented to the waitress but you never know if they pass on these comments. I wanted it to be Constructive Criticism not negative. Anyway we then had ice cream which was lovely too especially the strawberry. I enjoyed my meal but not sure if I would go again unless our comment was taken on board. Not sure re price and value for money as I wasn't paying!! But my partner seemed perfectly happy with the bill.

Incredible Italian small plate bar (with decent sized mains). One of the best UK Italian places I've found on a par with what I found in Puglia. So good I forgot to take pics of the food.💁‍♂️ But did remember the menu. Awesome wine selection too.

Cotto Wine Bar & Kitchen is the latest addition to the already impressive ‘Bianchis Group’ (which includes Pasta Loco/ Repina etc). The restaurant is like a dinky hole in the wall with a few tables outside and the lunch menu restricted to 3 options per course and a few specials. It may be a small offering but the focus here is on quality not quantity. The food was sublime; rich, full of seasoning and the pasta had the perfect density and bite to it, just how they serve it in Italy. And there are a lot of decent bakeries in Bristol who honestly don’t come close to the sourdough they serve at Cotto. They need to start selling loaves of that stuff immediately - easily the greatest sourdough bread and olives I’ve ever eaten. I had the scallop special, bucatini with anchovy and panzanella salad. Each dish was perfect, with service to match and the price is more than affordable with main courses costing as little as £10. I will be returning here regularly (and I aim to leave with a loaf of their sourdough each time).

Really good Italian food in the heart of Bristol. This is a bit more refined than your usual pizza and lasagne place - lovely seafood, beetroot carpaccio, beef shin ragu - that sort of thing. Great selection of aperativos and wine too.

Fantastic stress free lunch at a great price.

Lovely place with nice atmosphere and a very nice lady waiting on us. But this was a very average meal .. was so disappointed as reviews were good. My main meal was was supposed to have Devon crab in it but where it was I don't know. And the big tiger prawns to start, were very mushy and not with the £11. So it's a shame as it is a lovely place with a nice vibe

Tried for the first time. Been on my bucket list list for a while. Cocktail was tasty and all the food came out very quickly. Only 4/5, because of the food. Ordered 5 different small plates and some were amazing, like the lamb and the ricotta and fennel salad. The potato rosti and artichokes however, just tasted fried and a bit dry to be honest. Service was great, staff attentive and helpful.

Great food and open, friendly atmosphere at a Otto Wine Bar. Solid selection of good wines with very friendly service. The Ox Cheek was delicious and full of flavor. Definitely consider heading to Cotto for wine and a nice dinner anytime you are in Bristol.

Amazing. I had a blood orange, radicchio, green bean and hazelnut salad that gave me a semi-religious experience. Lovely atmosphere and great service.

Had the valentines four course meal with a total of over £130 bill with an extra glass expresso martini. It felt a bit rushed since we had to return the table after an hour 45 mins. The scallops for starters were scrumptious. However, the portion for the lamb fillet was like a starter. It was way too small. My partner left with a hungry tummy. The dessert options for a £69 4-course meal were weak as cannoli or gelato were the only two options. Would recommend the blood orange gelato.

Just went in for a main course. My partner’s seafood stew was lovely but only a tiny piece of bread and a dish with no carbs eg potatoes or pasta. I had the rabbit pasta and very underwhelmed - the pasta was cooked well but the sauce was bland and the whole dish boring. Surprised it is related to the brilliant Pasta Loco.

Valentines meal was delicious from start to finish. Wonderful wonderful. Worth every penny. Go eat there.

Had a lovely time here for lunch on Saturday. I had very foolishly not properly booked but luckily they still had a table at the window probably because this place is still fairly new. Food was quality and on par with other Bianchi restaurants. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful with what to order and pairing wines and have found my new favourite red through this - their primivito. If you are a fan is sweet wine try a Dinderello!

Lived up to the Bianchi’s group standards. Intimate dining experience, richly decadent food and extremely attentive wait staff. I made a note of a vegan friend in my booking and he was given a special menu upon arrival. Overall a great place to celebrate an occasion or enjoy a special meal.

Perhaps the best Italian food we’ve eaten in the uk! A small venue with modern, stripped back, calm design. Really friendly staff who know the food and wine lists. It’s a ‘sharing’ restaurant so a bit like tapas for the starters but they encourage you to also share the mains. They have a small menu but that’s a positive. Everything is cooked to order in the small open kitchen. We hadn’t booked but we’re able to get a couple of bar/window seats, so thanks to the staff for squeezing us in. You really need to book! The arichini was remarkable as was the venison ragu. The olive oil panaccota sounds a strange combination but it works really well. Treat yourself and support a small, new, brilliant restaurant. Items on the menu marked ‘ccc’ give a donation to the Cotto Community Contribution scheme which helps less fortunate people in Bristol.
