Swoon in Bristol, City of

Swoon's gelato is so smooth and sweet, it's unreal. Definitely try the pistachio, it's amazing. The cherry amarena is also a winner, so good. Perfect treat for a sunny day. Highly recommend checking them out!

Good gelato and it is worth queuing for!

Good gelato place but not much different than other gelato shops. Felt the price was maybe a bit higher than others. Had the salty caramel and vanilla which were both delicious. Comfortable place to sit and enjoy some gelato. Service was good.

Exceptional Gelato. We walked here specifically to try the gelato and we were not dissapointed. We return in a heartbeat. Get the mango sorbet.

Amazing gelato and a lot to choose from. My personal favourite combo is the Bacio and the Hazelnut. Absolutely to die for! Louisa who served me was a diamond and helped me with every question I had asked. Definitely recommend here for a sweet treat!

THE best gelato there is. All the flavours are fab and the staff are lovely, Struan in particular is always super friendly! There’s a reason this place is always so popular, rain or shine 🍦 I could eat the chocolate sorbetto day and night - genuinely the best 😋 🍫

Fantastic staff, Struaw was very helpful with sorting our order quickly and offered advice and talked me through the ingredients. Would highly recommend to a friend. 👍

Lovely gelato, but rather disappointing to witness such unwelcoming behavior towards newcomers. A shame, really.

Excellent gelato, with a nice selection of sorbets. Not too sweet as many other places do. As a nice plus, they make an excellent coffee - one of the best espresso I had in the UK, thanks to the Borbone coffee blend and a perfect brewing. Will definitely come back when in Bristol.

Needs more staff. Took 24 minutes to get served and there were only 3 groups ahead of us in the queue. Edit- might be helpful if you gave me your email Struan. Edit-emailed on the 10th with no response. Very disappointing.

Absolutely love the Pistachio flavor!!! It's super rich and creamy!!! I feel like I could devour several scoops!!! I'm totally a pistachio fanatic hehehe~ The Cheesecake flavor with added cherries 🍒 is perfectly tangy and sweet, making the overall taste multi-layered😆 The Salted Caramel is a delightful mix of salty and sweet, the flavor never goes out of style. Sometimes I always miss this flavor. The Tiramisu flavor is a classic taste, and it genuinely feels like eating a slice of Tiramisu cake🍰. How do they manage to do that? It's amazing! Lastly, the staff member was quite handsome and nice!!! And oh my, his skin was flawless!!! Highly recommended! I declare this is my favorite Gelato in Bristol!！！

Brownie flavor is out of my expectation

Popped by on a November Saturday evening with my partner to get some delicious gelato. We have been to the Bath and Oxford locations, but not Bristol! We love the seating area so you can sit in and enjoy your gelato regardless of the weather outside. The staff were super warm and friendly, allowing us to try a couple of samples before deciding and helping us make decisions. I was blessed with coming by when one of a specials was something I love - peanut butter! This tastes absolutely amazing, super creamy for a sorbetto and a very strong peanut flavour with some chocolate ripples. The hazelnut and chocolate brownie were also both incredible, rich and strong flavours, wonderfully smooth. We would highly recommend Swoon 🙂

Did not go there but the Costa nearby.I do like ice cream so l am now hankering to go.So 5 stars for being a lce cream establishment so you already got my vote.At the moment cant further comment but will give it a go.

Beautiful ice cream and fabulous staff. I had some time to kill, so I decided to sit in today. Ice cream was fantastic (as usual) but special kudos to Izzy she was really lovely. Smiling, wishing everyone a good weekend. She’s a real credit to Swoon :)

Fantastic gelato. Highly recommend you try tiramisu with pistachio, wonderful combo. The guys work soo hard to serve in a timely manner so kuddos to them, especially in the summer.

The world might be a bad place but it's the only place I can find Swoon Gelato. Let's see I've lost myself on multiple occasions with their pistachio and bacio Gelato which are incredible and OOHHHHHH MYYYY GOODDDDD THE MANGO SORBET ..... LEGEND ..... WAIT FOR IT .... NON-DAIRY .... get it cause sorbet doesn't have dairy in it. Anyway my jokes are bad but Swoon's desserts are amazing. Go get some Gelato today cause SHABBY LOVES THIS PLACE AND HE SAID SO!!!

Ordered the ice cream and went to pay with cash and then told, we don't accept cash, there are no signs stating this, won't go again, overpriced and unwelcoming.

I can't say that Ice cream is my favorite sweet treat however Swoon could easily persuade me. We had to go back, 2 days in a row to sample some of their incredible flavors, pistachio, salted caramel and mango sorbet - incredible. We'll definatly be back!

Swoon is a Bristol gem! It’s without a doubt the best gelato in town. They’ve got some amazing flavours, I highly recommend the chocolate brownie gelato or mango sorbet. But other notable favourites are the tiramisu or the pistachio gelato. They’re so creamy and flavourful. I’d recommend getting a cone, but you can also get small tubs. I’ve not bought any yet, but you can buy large tubs for your freezer which is great. A little more expensive than other ice cream shops but I do think it’s good value for money - it seems like very high quality gelato. Usually I get take out and sit on the green over the road, but you can also dine in for a cafe-like vibe. Be prepared, there’s likely to be a bit of a queue during the summer or busy times of day, but it moves pretty quick and the staff are lovely!

Probably the best place in Bristol for ice cream. When the weather is good, expect a queue, but you'll be hard pushed to find better ice cream anywhere in Bristol to be frank, so it's worth the wait. Clean toilets, friendly staff, and nice seating inside.

Great gelato, the best three flavours are: Cherry Cheesecake, Tiramisu and Pistachio. Very tasty, visited 3 days in a row!

When you arrive on a Tuesday night at 9pm and there is a queue out the door you know it’s going to be good. Best i have had in the UK.

The ice cream is not so delicious as before. When I arrived at about 6pm, several favors were already sold out. I understand that the servers are very busy but the server who assisted me are not unfriendly to foreigners.

The gelato is good. It's set on busy prime location. Enjoyed the variety of gelato offered. However, I believe had the cherry cheesecake which was good, just wished they would have been slightly generous with the scoop. The quality of the gelato was good, but in all honestly I having compared to authentic gelatos in Italy and other place within Bristol, perhaps I was looking for a more light texture with rich flavour gelatos.

Amazing gelato! Didn't expect to like it so much. A single portion is generous 100g. We tried Bacio (hazelnut and chocolate) and Tiramisu. Fantastic! Props to the guy serving all the customers on a sunny Tuesday single-handedly. I felt sorry for him, he did and amazing job but oh my god guys have 2 people at the counter!!!

There’s a queue. A long queue. For a reason. Best icecream we’ve had in years. We had the chocolate sorbet (85%cacao), the tiramisu icecream that actually tasted like real tiramisu, and salted caramel how you want it to be. Get in line, it’s worth it.

Increíble helado y el personal estuvo trabajando duro todo el tiempo que estuve allí. Estaba muy impresionado con lo amables que eran a pesar de algunos clientes complicados en frente de mí, una cola muy larga y temperaturas tremendamente calientes. La propina de vergüenza con tarjeta no era una opción, ya que no llevo efectivo y quería mostrar mis respetos al personal y los pagos son solo con tarjeta. En general genial, sin embargo y sin duda volvería de nuevo!

Lugar popular, espera hacer cola en horas punta. Muy bueno y muy caro helado, así que trato justo supongo. Numerosos empleados de diversos grados de gratitud. No parecen estar bien entrenados para entregar cucharadas de tamaño consistente (a pesar de que el menú indica un peso muy preciso...).

Popular place, expect to queue at peak times. Very good and very expensive gelato, so fair deal I guess. Numerous staff of varying degrees of pleasantness. They do not seem well trained on delivering scoops of consistent size (in spite of the menu stating a very precise weight...).

Good gelato flavour choices, reasonable helpings, and not bad on price. There isn’t much space to sit inside, but the green opposite gives you somewhere to relax with a few scoops of gelato!

Nada que decir sobre el helado, saben muy bien, pero el personal es horrible, había un montón de ellos alrededor de las 4. 30 pm hoy y nadie estaba a punto de ayudar, soy un cliente regular y me preguntaba cómo es que la aplicación no estaba funcionando, y el personal era tan grosero en particular uno, me sentí como si tuviera que irme . . Came here for great tasting gelato not how it looks, wanted some tiramisu gelato they had 2 out and asked could I have some tiramisu which the guy said no because it will ruin the look and would need to finish the other one which was basiclly 90% finished anyway, if you care so much on how your gelato looks maybe you should refuse everyone and say you only care how your gelato looks.

It’s hard to describe how the experience of Swoon’s gelato unfolds on the tongue. A trip to Bristol city centre is never quite the same without that ice cold creamy hit from Swoon. I must have tried at least a third of the flavours by now and I am lost in thought about what I’d choose as my favourite. All the flavours are delicate, hit the nail on the head and leave you longing for your next visit. I write this as i savour the Nocciola flavour, hazelnut for those Italian illiterates like myself. The flavour of hazelnuts dives across the mouth as the gelato melts as if by magic on the tongue. It really does feel like magic because the texture and consistency is unlike anything you can get anywhere else. If it’s your first time, I’d heavily recommend the vanilla because it is very much not just the plain option. What would usually be the base or plain option for most aces, Swoon brings to life with the flavour profile. It’s like experiencing the vanilla flavour for the first time again. I’ve had a vanilla and pistachio cake from them before although it is made of ice cream so it melted on a long drive (2hr) to see my parents. I’d heavily recommend a decent icebox if you’re transporting the deserts far. The staff are friendly, there’s a toilet and enough seating inside. When the sun is out I’d recommend sitting in the park across the road. Buses are probably you best mode of transport as they pass by frequently.

I’ve been to Swoon quite a few times since it’s been opened. The ice cream it the best ever, and I hope that will not change. The only criticism is that the portions are getting smaller as the price is getting higher…

Three days in Bristol and we visited twice. Would have been three times if we had found it on the first day. Amereno Cherry Cheesecake was the best. Unfortunately, it had run out today. Salted Caramel was a decent alternative

......Then I gave into my no sugar strict diet and decided to treat myself to the most delicious Bacci flavoured ice-cream as a one scooped tub.. is not enough.. careful now ! You could opt for different flavours.. who's not to say from this popular haunt-the ques are out the door!!!! 🤪😋🤤 It's great that there's this cafe open on a Sunday after 4pm 💖 only came in for Coffee!!

Sadly the milkshake was really disappointing. The taste was good, I took vanilla, but it was way to watery. Disappointing after waiting for so long and it costing 6 £.

It’s our first time visiting on 27 April 2024 (7:30pm). Staffs are helpless, dishonest, irresponsible and misrepresenting! We used the app QR code for the purchasing and supposed to entitle to gain the reward points and a free scoop of ice cream. But For some reason, it wasn’t scanned properly. We approached the staff … instead of resolving the issue, we were given load of nonsense excuses … like telling us the system might take days for updating. We, therefore, request a receipt of our purchases as a record but was refused with another load of excuses. I was shocked. Did I really look that dumb?!? In order to prove I wasn’t and THEIR system was working, I decided to buy another scoop of ice cream. Not need to say, the rewards point updated immediately. I approached the young man again showing him everything and trying to give him a second chance to resolve the situation but he just ignored me and turned around. No mention about customer satisfaction. No one cared about my reward points. No one cared about my feelings. Full of ugly and extraordinary things at this Swoon!

I've never seen a gelato shop, busy, on a Saturday night, in April's rainy weather, but this was, and I can understand why. There is a wide selection of flavours, I went with raspberry cheesecake and salted caramel, beautiful together! Tubs, sundae glasses or cones, and the cones were solid, didn't go soggy even after a while. We sat in because we managed to nab a seating area and there is space but majority of people seemed to leave. £15 for 3 double cones I didn't think was bad and like I said, tasty!! Will happily come back if down again.

Best ice cream in Bristol! The scoop sizes are quite big and the price is fair for being in the heart of the city centre. The tiramisu ice cream tasted very similar to an actual tiramisu and the two flavor cup with mango and chocolate was very good too

Our niece, who is studying at Bristol University, recommended Swoon for a treat and she was absolutely spot on with her recommendation! We had been walking around Bristol and had just come from the Cathedral and were in need of refreshment, and this was a delicious treat for all of us! There was a queue, but the staff were going flat out and we were served faster than I'd anticipated! We decided to sit for a while, as there were a couple of tables free at the time, and it was great to just relax and enjoy our delicious flavours - I tried the tirimasu, and my partner enjoyed an amazing mango sorbet! The cafe area itself was a bit noisy and not 100% clean (there was spilled icecream on the floor nearby, and on the table next to us) but, honestly, the staff were so busy I don't hold it against them, and we were enjoying our treats too much to care too much! If you find yourself near the Cathedral or in the heart of Bristol on a nice day it is well worth queueing for such delicious ice cream and gelati!

Been a few times now, it’s good, looking forward to trying more flavours.

Came here with my ex. the sweetest of the gelato couldn’t cure the bitterness in our hearts. The song firework by Katy Perry was overly loud and I really DID feel like a plastic bag, especially through the eyes of my ex. Would come again but refuse to talk to staff as it would make me emotional.

Some of the best Gelato I've ever had. Loved the Hazelnut and the cherry cheesecake together. Sorbets tasted great too, really refreshing. Love the fact it's open late so you can visit for some ice cream after being at a gig at the O2 Academy. Perfect way to end the evening
