Food was nice, but there wasn't much filling in the pasta. Wine was reasonably priced.

With at least 24 hours notice Patsa Ripiena can make fresh gluten free pasta - and offer a choice of 3 options (meat, fish and veggie) for main. They were able to adapt the starter special of the day and had a burrata starter that was gluten free. Panna cotta dessert was also gluten free. Everything was delicious and it was the best pasta I’ve had since being diagnosed with coeliac!

Compliments to the Chef! From the first bite to the last, every dish was an exquisite journey of flavour and craftsmanship. It's clear that each plate was prepared with care, passion, and an extra touch of love. The rich, perfectly balanced flavours combined with stunning presentation made this meal unforgettable. For me, this isn't just the best Italian restaurant in the area—it might very well be the finest in the entire UK. Every detail, from the texture of the pasta to the savoury sauces and fresh ingredients, reflected the mastery of Italian culinary art. The best pasta experience ever! One of my favourites

Love! Food was amazing, staff was lovely and the restaurant and a great atmosphere.

We had reserved a table for my husband's birthday for Thursday 9th January evening. The food was as amazing as we expected it to be, since Pasta Ripiena is one of our top three favourite restaurants in Bristol. What unexpectedly spoilt it for us was the extremely low temperature at the otherwise nice corner table next to the window. If we knew that we would spend all our dinner time shivering, we would have kept our coats with us and/or asked for another table far from the window. The outside temperature was 0C, and this affected the whole window and the wall under the window, next to our table: they were freezing cold. This combined with the fact that there is no barrier for the freezing air every time the door opens made this birthday dinner rather unpleasant. I suggest taking a temperature measurement at this corner table, and see that the temperature is uncomfortably low. Also, some kind of barrier should be used for the cold air coming in from the door opening every few minutes.

One of the best Italian Restaurant I have been to. The food was delicious , left me wanting more. However they are quite busy so the wait for food was quite long, but the quality made up for it. Will definitely come back and will recommend to everyone!

Absolutely AMAZING restaurant. I can see why it's so often booked out. Delicious food that you can taste the love with awesome service too. Beautiful interior also. Only note is the chairs are the most comfortable but one can't have it all!

I love this place. It's relaxed/comfortable dining in a small but well thought out space. The food is top notch and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and quick too. You should try this place out if you haven't done already.

I always wanted to try Pasta Ripiena. I had only fantastic memories from closed Pasta Loco. I tried Pazzo which ended up as a disaster however my partner tried recently Pasta Ripiena, had really positive experience and wanted to try it with me. I couldn't wait to try it! We have ordered 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 dessert. Doesn't matter that much what we got because menu is changing in every month. At the top of that, my partner got a margarita. My partner got her margarita and it was one of the worst margarita which she ever tried. It tasted like a glass of lime juice with tiny bit of tequila. I don't like the taste of alcohol but I tried it and I totally agree with her opinion. In the past, she had one cocktail in Pasta Ripiena and that was enough for her. This time, she didn't feel anything after one cocktail and that cost us £10. We got our starters after around 10 min from the order. Both of them were OK. Nothing surprising, nothing inspiring, no "wow" effect. Just OK. We were waiting 60 min for our main dishes and we have been pretty nervous because we thought they forgot about us. My pasta was with boar, truffles, garlic butter and from all of it, I didn't taste much. Bland and definitely not something what I will expect from £24 pasta. My partner had pasta with Bolognese beef and it was tasty but nothing surprising. The most disappointing was pasta: like no additional taste or flavour coming from pasta. I can count many other Italian restaurants which can make much better pasta than this, with much lower price and I will be sure I will get always a good quality of food. I had a discussion with my partner and she was disappointing how different experience she had previously and this time it was an evening which she will never recommend to anyone. Each of the dish cost £24 and it was ridicules expensive comparing to what we have received. The dessert arrived 10 min later. In total we were waiting 85 min to receive our orders. Super long time. For the dessert we got pistachio panna cotta which was the best thing which we ate for the whole evening. When we received the bill, staff said they removed panna cotta from the bill based on my feedback regards our main dishes. It was nice to hear but at the same time I didn't ask for it and if I would like to remove something from the bill, it will be a dish which I had problem with, not: the dish which I enjoyed the most from the whole evening. Main dishes cost £48 (and were just untasty) and panna cotta was just £7 and it was the cheaper thing which we had for the whole dinner. The whole experience with Pasta Ripiena was disappointing from end to end. We have spent £92 for the dinner which wasn't taste, we didn't get a proper cocktail, waiting time was ridicules long and at the end we have been both still hungry. I don't know if I could recommend to anyone Pasta Ripiena. It is not a good place to meet friends as well because music is pretty loud, the space for your table is very small and you are sitting uncomfortable close to other couples around.

Totally lives up to the high star rating - the most delicious meal we've had out in 2024. Friendly and welcoming, all the dishes we had were first class but the packets of pasta with Bolognese was magnificent. Even the small rocket and parmesan salad on the side was exceptional. Fresh coffee and gelato to finish a superb meal. £22 for two courses, £25 for three.

My oh my, food prepared with absolute precision and served promptly. The food served was absolutely divine and faultless. Keep doing what you are doing perfection.

Fantastic meal here last night. A perfect small, intimate spot for date night. The team were friendly, attentive (but not overly so) and informal which made us very at ease and enjoy our experience even more. We felt very comfortable asking them about the menu and they were very knowledgeable in their recommendations. We had a carafe of primitivo, gordal olives, burrata salad, sausage meatball on bean stew, trout with capers and ricotta ravioli and the wild boar Ragu parcels. Finished off some amaro Montenegro. I think everything on the menu would've been an excellent choice, it was all so delicious. The wild boar Ragu was a particularly highlight. It was rich and perfectly accompanied by the parsnip crisps and shiitake mushrooms which added additional umami notes, SO good. Definitely will be adding to my list of favourite restaurants in Bristol.

Fantastic food, fantastic service, cosy atmosphere. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This is hands-down the best Italian restaurant I’ve visited in Bristol! Everything from the food, to the service and the atmosphere was outstanding! Our sever was really lovely and polite, as were all the other staff members. The pasta dish that I ordered was absolutely divine, the sauce was out of this world! I’m usually not a fan of panna cotta, but the vanilla panna cotta that we ordered here was to die for! The restaurant has a beautiful, cozy aesthetic and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion. The service was exceptional, I had specified in my reservation notes that I am a vegetarian. Our server very kindly remembered that and also took the time to walk me through the menu and suggest some great vegetarian options. We will definitely be visiting again soon to try out the other lovely dishes on their menu.

4th visit here for lunch . Always great food and good value. We had the set lunch menu. The menu is different each time I’ve been and the food is always fresh and really flavoursome. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Can’t fault it .

This was one of my first meals in the UK a few weeks and it was fantastic. I was so pleasantly surprised, although I knew nothing about Bristol at the time. The pasta was fresh, buttery, and the flavors were on point. I gave 4 stars for the food just because there was one dish that lacked any flavor (i think they forgot the salt) but other than that i was pretty obsessed with this place. Highly recommend!

Everything we had was very tasty. The wine was great as was the service. We were lucky enough to get a table last minute as they had a cancellation and I was very glad we tried this place. I'd go back.

Simply the best pasta I've ever had. Almost 5 years since our first visit and still superb in every way. The only criticism I can make is that the place is too small and it's sometimes difficult to get a booking. (And it's 70 miles away!)

Bland unseasoned flavourless most disappointing Carbonara I have ever tasted. I literally paid £15 for overcooked pasta with watery white sauce dripped on top. Tell the chef that horfield prison is looking for a new “chef” And it’s probably best that he apply as soon as possible

I've eaten in a lot of Italian restaurants but I've never had pasta like this. It was a joyful experience. I loved the stuffed pasta mains, but my rare beef starter was also delicious. Outstanding. The small venue makes for a quiet, relaxed vibe as well, which I really liked.

Had a lovely meal here. The food was fantastic and the staff excellent. Very knowledgeable and explained in detail about the dishes on offer. Not the cheapest but you pay for what you get so no complaints. Would definitely recommend.

A divine Lamp Ragu main course and Amaretto Panna Cotta to finish with. Quite simply perfection at a very reasonable price.

Banging pasta made with love and care

Came here following a recommendation from a family member and totally surpassed my expectations! Really cute little restaurant with lovely food and great service, would defo go again!

This is a bit more quirky place, not your typical get stuffed with Italian food. The flavours are very rich and unorthodox, the main part here is that you will try something new and different, but you have to be willing to experiment. I liked the food, as mentioned it was different, but delicious

I can’t praise this restaurant highly enough. The food that we all had was delicious, including the special meal they made for me to accommodate a very tricky dietary requirement. The staff were all attentive, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We also really appreciated the little touch of a congratulatory message on the menus for my son who was celebrating. It was an all round brilliant experience - thank you!

I recently popped into Ripiena and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were so friendly providing excellent recommendations on both food and wine. Cappelletti filled with smoked duck and Parmesan. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the rich, smoky duck paired wonderfully with the sharp Parmesan. The fire-treated apricot added a fresh, slightly sweet contrast, while the creamy stracciatella enriched the dish. The Primitivo wine they suggested was a great match. It was full-bodied yet not too heavy, with berry flavors that complemented the meal beautifully. Overall, the combination of delicious food, perfect wine, and outstanding service!

Clean table awaited us. Music was up my street. Waiter explained the menu without making us feel thick. Food was indescribably good. Nice touch with the complimentary bread to mop up the sauce. Left feeling tipsy and content. Thank You.

Wonderful venue, superb food, service and atmosphere.

The seasonal menu was sublime, the balance of flavours in the smoked duck tortelloni was just right. The drinks were expensive for what they were though. Shame the olive panna cotta wasn’t available when I went. An intimate venue with attentive service.

We came in right towards the end of dinner service before the kitchen closed and the chef welcomed us in. The service was very friendly and staff was knowledgeable with great recommendations from the menu. And the food is beyond delicious. Highly recommend this place. Even if it is out of your way. Worth the trip.

Excellent restaurant, easily my favourite pasta place in Bristol! They frequently change the menu which keeps things interesting, and their food is very high quality and tasty. That said, the place is small so bookings are highly recommended especially for larger groups.

My partner had the cocktail taken from her when the glass was ~half empty The brocolli stems in my food were uncooked/raw On the bill the tip was optional, when the waitress came with the cash machine that was added instantly Service, average Location inside, below average, non comfy seats

Amazing food. Very small and cute place with limited menu, but it is more than enough. Everything what we ordered was delicious and the wine was amazing. The only negative thing is the zero hygiene in the toilets, was very dirty and stinky.

I ordered off deliveroo, so I cant really comment on the atmosphere, but the food was really good, simple ingredients, authentic Italian.

Ive been here a few times and it never disappoints. The servers really know their stuff, and the food is the most amazing quality and has gorgeous, complex flavours! wine list is amazing and the vibes are so lovely. its no secret that this is one of the most special spots for pasta in bristol!

Truly amazing food here. The raviolis are some of the best ones I have ever tried. And you got to try the pork fillet for antipasti. They were sou vide cooked and topped with very tasty salsa sauce. Edit: return to this amazing restaurant two years later, and the food are still exceptional!

Run, don't walk, to this superb restaurant. They only do filled pasta and as a result they do it very, VERY well. It was the best pasta we have ever eaten - and that was true for me, who is gluten free, AND my husband, who is not. The sauces with the pasta are explosions of flavour. The front of house guy who was working when we were there was knowledgeable and friendly, and he really added to the whole experience. We went on a Friday lunchtime and had the 3 course set price menu which was superb value for money. We will be back soon!

Definitely the best Italian in town. The ambience, service and food everything was just perfect. The dishes were just perfect.

I really enjoyed it. The food is so delicious and the staff are very professional and polite and friendly. The flavours were knockout! I think my pasta may have been overcooked though and the portions are tiny for the price. Do they have to put the tables so close together to try and squeeze more money? You've got your bum rubbing against someone's table because you've got to squeeze out sideways! Too close! They also forgot my coat so I had to go up and get it myself.

The food was very tasty but over priced as portions are a little small. It’s a very small space and feels very cramped. I think maybe they need to rethink the timings between sittings as it was pretty annoying being hurried through the meal and given 20min, 10 min, 5 min count down. If I’m spending £250 on dinner I’d prefer the time to enjoy the meal and the company.

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve eaten here but the food is to DIE for and Tom, Brendan and Johnny are truly so driven to make your experience the best yet! Brendan and Johnny push the boundaries on creating dishes which blow your mind while Tom has the talent of paring your choices with a great wine!

Beautiful food, restaurant and service! Booked last minute for my partner’s birthday lunch in early October and I was so happy with everything. We had the following from the set menu; Tuna belly salad (it was on the specials board at the time but glad to see it on the lunch menu) Boquerones Bruschetta with olive tapenade and salsa verde Ravioli with beetroot and ricotta Triangoli of spinach and mascarpone Focaccia Blackberry and sage panna cotta Drank; Aperol spritz Apple juice Everything was delicious, well balanced and fresh - I would go into detail but may be here all day - just go! 10/10 recommend Also loved the happy birthday menu they gave us ☺️ great service!

We loved our early Friday night dinner at Pasta Ripiena. Stuffed pasta is such a treat and we're glad to have found a spot in Bristol that does it do well. All the pastas we're great but the lamb ragu casoncelli in particular was a real treat. We also loved the tomato & pear salad and the fennel panna cotta. We'll most definitely be back! 🍝

Absolutely brilliant evening! We arrived at our table and we had personalised menus- which was completely unexpected and a complimentary glass of champagne. We found out this was because of a connection with myself and the owner that we didn’t know existed!!! this was so lovely of them to do! secondly the service was exceptional, very attentive and lots of soft spongy bread delivered to mop up our beautiful sauces- wouldn’t except anything less from the bianchis group! Food was delicious, particular the sage, pumpkin and ricotta Angolotti! stunning!!! also the boquerones, tuna belly, figs starters were so delicious! you must book a table! will be going to the rest of their restaurants soon!!!

Really nice small cosy pasta restaurant. I’ve been to a few other places owned by the same guys and they’re all great. A great thing they do is that once you’ve finished most of your main, they bring out some free focaccia to mop up the sauce. Top quality dishes. A little pricey so great for a special occasion.

Booked a table for an anniversary meal. Menu was simple but everything on it looked great. Both our fresh pasta mains were excellent with lovely fresh flavours. Venue is quite intimate and great for a special meal.

A wonderful little gem of a restaurant with superlative service and excellent food. The menu comprises a number of different filled pasta options, plus delicious antipasti and board specials. There is a broad European wine list and the coffee and puddings are also excellent. Booking in advance is recommended as there are not many tables and it's very popular.

Ahhhhw a bit gutted tbh. After reading the reviews I really wanted to go here and fully enjoy the food and overall experience. Sadly it wasn’t the best. For a meal and drinks for 2 costing nearly £100 it wasn’t worth it. For starters we had the hake fritters, this was good. The specials board starter was pork, the pork tasted lovely but was a very small potion. Both mains were ok not great and not cheap. The chicken in my partners main meal was fatty, grisly. He described his meal as chicken soup with pasta. A lovely guy who greeted us on arrival and insisted on poring the drinks he was lovely. All meals were presented well but tastes in mains coulda definitely been better. Food was pretty average up to other restaurants we have been recently. Weds 30th August 2023

This was one of the Italian restaurants that we did enjoyed the most around Bristol, we reserved a table for dinner and we were quite lucky as they were totally full. The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant is just great, since you come in till you leave you feel like home as the place is extremely cosy. The service it was so so as they were extremely busy running around and there wasn’t so many tables but the waitress did seemed new, however they were very friendly and respectful. The food it was an 10, we were just amazed with both quality of the ingredients and the quality of the dishes were soooo delicious and well prepared, full of taste and kind of a fusion it was just amazing to try these dishes. The red Italian wine it was also great. Congratulations to the chefs and owner. We had a bit of an headache to park the car as the place is right in the city centre we had to search around for a parking spot and ended up paying almost £10 for two hours of parking and it was kind of far from the restaurant. Overall experience it was great and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone around looking for a great experience.

One of the best Italian cousins in Bristol !

We walked in and we could get a table for a quick lunch luckily. So reservation is recommended. The food were amazing! All we ordered were delicious. I think it was a new experience for Italian food. I had flat white and it tasted good. The service was great too.

A simple lunchtime menu with good flavours delivered well. There is choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts. The service was attentive and helpful. Beware, the wines are pricey; unnecessarily so. The beer from a lash up with Wiper & True brewery was a preferred option. As a minor gripe, the plastic, utilitarian seats are uncomfortable for a dining situation. Similarly, the bench seating doubles up as underseat storage for wine boxes and makes it difficult to sit upright and tuck feet under the seat. It's all a little bit cluttered and cramped.
