Love this place and am very lucky to live only a few minutes walk away. I organise 1 or 2 meals a year (for 20+ years) for ex-work colleagues;.LHP ("Little Hollows Pasta") is the favourite (for its food, front of house staff and relaxed atmosphere). For that and for _any_ special occasion (friends - UK and overseas, family) I'd try to go there, when I'm booking for 6 or fewer people. Every time I get 100% positive feedback. During 'COVID', when it sold coffee and pastries, I'd go there most days at the end of my run. Given the choice of any restaurant anywhere, LHP is where I'd choose. And given what it offers, it's great value.

Outrageously good food, I stumbled across this place out of sheer luck a few visits to Bristol ago and now make a point of booking in advance before I make my trip, just to make sure I get a table (never had a problem with the booking system). Authentic, welcoming and incredibly good at their craft. Can’t recommend enough!

I've been to the restaurant a handful of times over a couple of years since it opened. Every time it hits the spot. One key memory was a lunch on a Saturday in the summer sunshine in the back garden eating a filled pasta that was the best I've ever had (all I remember is that it had sweetcorn inside and some kind of saffron butter). On a road with some other great restaurants but it holds its own amongst them.

Every time I go to LHP it is an exquisite experience from start to finish. I love the stripped back traditional interior which lets the food do the talking, as it rightly should. From fresh pasta in the window on display to generous portion sizes and stunning flavour combinations - LHP delivers the most fantastic pasta at reasonable prices for the quality and artistry on the plate. The team provide an attentive service and nothing is too much trouble. A must visit for any fan of Italian cuisine! Don’t forget to try the tiramisu too! Counting down the day until my next visit 😊

We've been to Little Hollows for a few special occasion dinners and it never disappoints. The food is exceptional, every item on the menu sounds incredible. I'm vegan and the options on there are always brilliant and so delicious. My most recent visit, 10th October was testament to this. The pumpkin pasta was phenomenal and the cherry and chocolate mousse a real treat! Little Hollows is so warm and welcoming. The atmosphere feels relaxed and so inviting, like you're having dinner at a close friend's home. The staff are always personable and friendly. They always have great recommendations and are very attentive. Thank you for another wonderful evening. We'll be back soon!

They explained that sometimes if the card transaction go through, they do not receive the booking request. I informed them checked my bank app and the nominal transaction had been taken. I asked if they could fit us in anyway but the only time they had was 5pm, which is ridiculously early for most people. No offer of another time/date or further explanation about why the reservation was not taken. Very hard to get a table elsewhere somewhere decent on the same day. Just sloppy customer service. If you like fresh pasta and vibrant surroundings, this place is a must. This small restaurant is part of the Chandos road scene, All the pasta is made fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Nice little place and lovely good quality food but we did find it pricey, and the mains menu, with only 5 dishes, is quite limited, with only one dish being non-vegetarian. We went with our kids (ages 6 & 8) and the mains were a bit too sophisticated for them so the lovely staff kindly suggested making them some off-menu cheesy/tomato pasta, which was delicious… unfortunately the portions were tiny, more like for toddlers- our strapping lad was hungry half an hour later. We still ended up paying over £100- having had only one small glass of wine (mine!) and 2 desserts. Our mains were nice but a bit bland… not sure I get all the hype.

It went quickly from amazing to rubbish, gorgeous service initially and very warm welcome, great recommendations for food and wine. But after an hour the restaurant had started to clear out, waiting staff eating at a table joined by a friend, seemed a bit strange to see staff eating near customers with their mates: service changed, pressured to order dessert/final drinks and uncomfortable pressure to wrap up and get out. Starters ok, bland, undercooked greens; Main dish (courgette, tarragon pasta) was basic and bland: pasta too tough. Overall wouldn’t go back. Felt rushed and unwelcome. Was only there 1 hour 45

As other reviewers have said, the menu is very small but the quality of the food is excellent. We both had the same: Bruschetta of the day, and agnolotti - they were delicious. Eight different styles of pasta made on the premises so there should be something for everyone. We went with friends, the first visit for all of us, one is gluten intolerant but that wasn't a problem. Do ask about all the pasta options as not all the names are obvious. Two had agnolotti (ravioli type) in a butter sauce, one had bucatini (a thicker spaghetti) with a tomato based topping, the last had fish and salad. The pastas were delicious as was the fish and salad, plenty of parmesan (extra£1.50), all washed down with a bottle of Sangiovesi. It was lunchtime but almost full, it did become quite noisy. Burrata starter was tasty but needed a little salt, the pasta chef went to fetch some from kitchen as there was none available in the restaurant. However when the main course of pork and fennel pasta arrived it was very salty and I was unable to finish, only managing to eat half. The pasta chef cleared our plates and asked how the meal was and we replied that the pork was very salty. A half hearted apology was not reflected in the bill and we were surprised to see that we had been charged more for our drinks than the price specified on the lunch menu. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she was surprised and said 'Oh you wanted the smaller glass of wine?' when the only price listed on the menu was for the small glass of wine! She offered to reimburse us the difference for our drinks but by that point we were leaving and a bit fed up. Service is automatically included and honestly I would have preferred the option as this was certainly not the best service I have received and overall a disappointing experience :(

I think we got unlucky with Little Hollows because even though I’d booked 6 weeks in advance we got this bad table next to the kitchen door.. it’s open so literally can everything going on and breaks the atmosphere, all other tables didn’t have this issue so bad luck on that I think. Sitting down in an expensive place at a table like that, for me it put a downer on the whole experience, considering £60 for bread, two pasta and two cheaper wines. The bread was delicious, really excellent and lots of butter with it. We had two vegetarian pastas, the pasta was amazing quality and can’t be faulted, I had the pistachio and basil tagliatelle and enjoyed, like the title says the portion was just so small. My gf is frankly a tiny person and even she came away hungry. Seems like you have to get a few small plates to come away from here feeling good/full but obviously then pushing bill much closer to £100. Overall great food but value for money isn’t there, service was very good, friendly staff.

We absolutely loved our first visit to Little Hollows Pasta! The service was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was incredible! We had a warm welcome on arrival and the lady serving us was so friendly and happy, the restaurant itself feels cosy and relaxed, perfect for a date night. The menu has a nice variety and lots of veggie options. Prices are really reasonable particularly for the quality of the food. I had the agnolotti and my husband had the linguine, both were just so delicious, genuinely the best pasta we have ever eaten. We can’t wait to return and try some new dishes!

This was a stunning meal. Food was absolutely delicious and Jonah deserves a special shout-out as was so welcoming and insightful about the menu, flavours and pairings. We were celebrating a special anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better spot. Would happily recommend and will definitely return next time in Bristol.

Great pizza and very friendly team on hand. Always happy to accommodate any specific requests such as us asking for some hot honey on the side.

We’ve always been huge fans of Ciccio, especially since discovering his pizza van in the back streets of Brislington during the pandemic, and were so proud to have him cater our wedding at the weekend. We trusted his vision and let him choose the menu, and couldn’t have been happier - fried fish, pastas, meats, cheese, arancini, pizza, cannoli. Truly amazing. The most authentic pizza around and our guests couldn’t stop talking about the food. Grazie di cuore Ciccio, Becca and Lucian

We chose this place from a bevy of options on the street after the museum, as pizza as a lunch choice & Italian values are generally very family friendly. There was a kids meal deal, an open plan kitchen where you could see the chefs making the dough on a customer facing counter & a game table by the bar which I think was table football. We thought we had been sat in a perfect spot for kids as we were sat pretty close to both the dough counter & the game table, there were no other tables in between us & these things & no risk of getting in the way of the team working or other diners. We felt quite safe watching our children play in this area. We asked the chef if it was ok if the kids watched him make the dough, he said yes just don’t touch the counter. But we were told twice by different members of staff, for our children to not touch the counter. Which they didn't. They were mesmerised & sat on stools, very well behaved. But the way we were told more than once felt awkward. Also, my daughter said to the chef ‘you are very good at that’ and he shushed her! Really unkind thing to do to a shy 5 year old who took a lot of bravery & kindness to give a compliment to an adult she obviously admired. Confidence was knocked. If this was where it ended, I wouldn’t be leaving this review, we’d have just had a little awkward moment and a chat with our 5 year old about some adults being grumpy and that would have been it. But after our pizzas were finished, the kids were playing at the football table and we had a man who seemed like a supervisor in a non uniform shirt, come over & state that if the children are to run around and play on the football table they must be supervised and that they should have shoes on in case of glass. It was done in such a way that it felt like a dressing down rather than a kind word. We were 5m away from the table watching them, this was supervising them, but I think he meant chaperoned so we sent an adult over. These comments & attitude completely spoiled the atmosphere of the meal as we felt we’d just been told how to parent. They were not at any point running. 2 of our children have sensory needs & yes do take their shoes off (but had socks on) and we didn’t think this needed to be made a deal of. We are grown ups who understand risk and have assessed whether we thought that was safe. After that point the man in the shirt came over a few times to stand near our table & stare at the children & huff. Which just made us feel more awkward. If service had been quicker the children would have been at the table eating their gelato from their meal deal, we would have had that, had the bill & left & not been playing at the football table to pass time. We had no check in from the waitress for a good 20-30 minutes (despite it being about 30% full & having loads of staff on). In fact we were only offered the gelato when we asked for the bill after feeling so unwelcome from the supervisor popping over so frequently. If the supervisor wanted us gone quicker, perhaps he could have taken the kids ice cream order himself. Our food was nice but don’t order the hearty salad it’s 90% raw kale & you don’t see much of the other ingredients mentioned on the menu description. Pizzas are good & authentic but they’re not quite as good as Flour & Ash or Bertha’s. I’m sure it’s a nice place & service would have been slow but OK if we didn’t have kids. The other family in there were treated the same as us & also had an awkward chat from the supervisor. But I’ve never been treated like this as a family in a restaurant before & it really ruined an otherwise nice experience.

Very clean, little independent cafe. Very friendly service. Nice food; the Maritozzo was delicious and the Italian hot chocolate very authentic. Would highly recommend.
