Good place and open till 4am with live acts. Let down by over zealous security. Literally if you touch the stage you get warned. Touch it a few times and your out. Bizare and not seen that anywhere else. Asked my friend to leave, so 25 of us left. Also got my coat stolen, but I guess that's not their fault.

I am reassured to see that several people were turned away at the entrance to this establishment, so it was not a racial offense against me. Unfortunately, I have a strange gait due to an accident my feet go outwards. I put a star that can only judge the person at the front door and I want to tell you that you are right to take advantage of your little power, if it allows you to feel alive.

Drinks are excessively expensive and there was a live band but sadly the sound system wasn’t right and we couldn’t hear the singer so it was really hard to decipher the song and sing along. My husband came out of the toilet and was greeted by security staff and the manager who told him they wanted to search him. He was forced to ‘consent’ (either consent or leave) and when nothing was found he questioned them over the way he had been treated, before he came back to the main bar area. The security officer then came back over to him along with another 5 security boys who circled like vultures and told him he would be leaving because they didn’t like his attitude before each grabbing a part of his body and taking him outside. We were told we couldn’t go back in to collect our belongings. The security boys couldn’t resist persistent verbal abuse, sniggering and exerting their aggression at any given opportunity. Locals inside told us that security behave the same way every night with their bullying culture. How are we living in a world where professionals are allowed to unlawfully search (conditional consent isn’t true consent) and be so disproportionately violent and aggressive beyond their legal powers? We took our business elsewhere and with so many bars and pubs in Brighton it isn’t worth spending precious pounds in here

17th March. A day of celebration for the potato people. A day in which St Patrick is roaming the streets in spirit, carried by the festivities of the people. But this alone was not enough to ward away the viper in the cold breeze which sank its fangs into my lips and coiled around my very soul. As my night seemed to be at its end, there I saw a mountain man, radiating unfathomable charisma. I sought shelter in the establishment that he guarded, and whilst he was no doctor, he knew that I needed aid, and to be bathed in the green glow of the Guinness temple The welcoming nature of the door keepers was only continued as I made my way through the bar. With a knowing look, the barman looked at me, nodded his head and slid a fresh pint of the black stout across the wooden worktop, as smooth as a figure skater. As the holy grail brushed upon my lips, I knew I was safe, and home

Still was told I couldn't go in whilst all my friends did, the bouncer didn't say why or for what reason, but I felt very discriminated against. I understand they are under pressure to stop any drunk people but I doubt that he thought I was drunk as I was the older one and driving all my friends home later. I had an appalling experience at Molly Malones, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others about the unacceptable treatment I received from the venue's staff. What started as a promising night out with friends ended in a shocking display of unfairness and disrespect. We were having a great time until the staff decided to kick me out, claiming I was too drunk. While I was admittedly drunk, I did not cause any commotion, disrespect, or harassment of any kind. I peacefully agreed to leave and complied fully. Despite this, I was escorted outside into the freezing cold at -2 degrees without being allowed to take my coat. My friends had to bring my coat out to me, which is inexcusable. To make matters worse, my friend who brought my coat, was not allowed back inside to retrieve the drinks they had already paid for, totaling approximately £20. We weren't even given the option to take the drinks in plastic cups or to get a refund. This blatant disregard for basic customer service and decency is unacceptable. Charging us for drinks we couldn't consume due to their draconian policies is outrageous. This kind of treatment shows a complete lack of respect for customers and a total failure to provide any reasonable accommodation or compensation. Molly Malones needs to drastically rethink their approach to handling such situations. The only reason people choose your venue is because it stays open late, but this incident has revealed a severe lack of fairness and basic human decency. I hope this review prompts a significant change in your policies, as no one should have to endure such unjust treatment. I urge everyone reading this to consider other options and avoid Molly Malones until they address these serious issues. Thank you for reading my review.
