Great experience here met some great people and 2 for 1 on cocktails so great value!!!

Funky bar in the centre of town. Serving cocktails, beers etc and Greek style food. Nice outdoor seating area which mean you can soak up the atmosphere of Brighton. 2 for £13 on some cocktails which was good. Managed to get a table quite easily outside on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Indoor decor quite quirky. Bathrooms downstairs and ok for basement bathrooms. Pretty basic. Didnt eat so cannot comment but other people dinners looked nice. Recommend the bramble cocktail 👌

Excellent Gyros, chips and cocktails

I was told I needed to go upstairs to order cocktails, so I did. I joined a queue but it was quickly apparent that the ‘queue’ was not relevant as the blonde male bartender was serving anyone he knew before the rest of the queue… which meant I was stood like a lemon for about 30 minutes whilst he served ahis friends ‘spicy margs’. I complained and he told me if I had a problem to leave… so I did.

Nice pub with great location and heated outdoor seating which is great for colder days. Haven’t really tried the food here but some sort of Greek menu is available at the moment. The prices are average around 6£ for a pint and they do 2 for 13£ cocktails all week.

Freddy , was my bar tender , and he helped us with literally everything, from where was our bathrooms to showing us the smoking room , so me and my 6 colleagues had fun in a wonderful atmosphere .. thanks guys ,cosiest pub ever .. Andros

Great tunes, staff could do with cheering up. Joined bar queue at 0850, served just past 9pm and couldn't get cocktail offer.

What a friendly and lovely pub. Was served by Ruby. She was very kind and friendly barmaid. Would definitely go again if she was serving. Will definitely visit again when visiting Brighton x

A nice place to start your Saturday night off

Last year ate roast dinners went back first time since last owners food wasn't like it used to be frozen potatoes soggy veg fatty unedited pork strip should get the old chef back.shame food wasn't worth money.staff was OK.wont go back.

Cocktails were great ,lovely atmosphere will definitely visit again.

Drinks were shocking, managers a power hungry prick. Got kicked out for standing in front of a “fire exit” which wasn’t listed as a fire exit but instead listed as staff only. Told him to put a sign up saying that and he just shrugged his shoulders and didn’t make eye contact. Also when entering said door he swung it open and it hit my girlfriend and the manager just kept walking and didn’t check if she was okay. BELL END.

As someone who is very fussy about how they like their roast dinners, this meal was great. Very well prepared, tasted great and beautifully presented. Their cauliflower pops were to die for. The server was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The only thing that made me not give a 5/5 was that the roast potatoes were not crispy, although this is a very minor quibble. Would definitely recommend.

Pretty decent walk by choice for a few drinks. The place was friendly and good buzz to its. Tables a little uncomfortable and shakey but not a major complaint. Staff were friendly. Ordered cocktails which were a little poor to taste but fine for two for £10

Fantastic selection of beer and cocktails, great atmosphere

Nice little place with funky decor. 2 for 1 on cocktails . We had the mango one, which tasted like um bongo . The WiFi password was painted on the wall, but apparently had been changed. I did approach the bartender about it, but despite us being the only customers, didn't seem to really want to help other than to say it had changed

Since my last not so good review , things have changed for the better at the Amsterdam. Chloe the new manager and her team, Nadia , Ben and Katie are all nice and pleasant . We are always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. The beer is good as is the food, and on Mondays food is 50% off !! Probably the best pub in Shoreham. Jerry H.

Booked over internet without any problems, great food, good service. Unfortunately we were almost the only people in at the time so can't comment on the atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Staff seemed uninterested. It wasn't a friendly experience. We waited ages for food despite it not being too busy and is having a booking. Food was good when it arrived. I'm not sure I'd be to bothered about returning

One of the best veggie roasts I’ve had. Good Bloody Mary and lovely staff. Toilets need a makeover but that’s it.

Really good espresso martini. Toilets are downstairs though so not ideal for those of us who can't do them.

Tasty roasts, ample space, central location, kind service

I was really struggling to find a place that would cater for 21 people on my birthday for a Sunday roast. We had a mix of adults and children. I was recommended to try Mrs Firtzherberts and they were absolutely fantastic. Sophie replied to my message so quickly and then was really helpful with helping me organise everything. They even gave us our own space upstairs, which was brilliant for the children. We had a bar up there which they set up with water and glasses, there was an outside space attached to the room. The staff were so friendly and everyones food was spot on, we had a mix of veggie, vegan and multiple roasts and no-one had a complaint. I cannot recommend them enough!

Worst pub experience ever. A woman was having a seizure and got injured while the staff did nothing to help and my friends had the door shut in their face by the manager when they tried to ask for some tissues to help the woman. Never going back again.

Awful experience, we went there for some drinks (which were awful) and when we were leaving we were trying to help a women having seizure we went to ask the manger for a tissue and some water and he slammed the door in our faces and spoke so rudely to us and swore at me and my friends never going back there !!

Ate mid week and extremely happy with the Caribbean food on offer, ordered a sharing platter and couldn’t finish it despite us both being greedy, and then heard about the roast…. A very well priced affair and absolutely stunning. Ordered a side of cauliflower cheese to round it off . Go here but book as you’ll need to. Staff outstanding making it all a perfect Sunday afternoon. Seriously this is a great place to eat .

Proper English pub. Excellent staff, great range of drinks.

We had a roast this past Sunday following reading reviews giving it a 10/10 and honestly we weren’t impressed. We were lead to a tiny table at the back of the pub that was wobbly so we moved across to the next table to find we were sitting by a smelly sink with flys all around it. The red wine was rank! They had 3 on offer and the guy behind the bar was lovely and let me try them all but not one tasted good at all, I even left it and that’s not like me. The roast was ok, the cauliflower cheese was definitely made from a packet or jar as you could taste the sugar! The pigs in blankets tasted cheap but the veg was ok. We wouldn’t choose to go back here especially as it was over £60 for 2 adults and 1 child. Overall really disappointed which is such a shame.

The roast was amazing! I contacted them to see if I could get a table for 5pm and we got there with a table saved and a candle! The food was soo good and the service better! We were so looked after and the manager Tom was a star, making sure we had our roast late after a long shift. Thank you guys…we will be back!

Popped in for a Sunday roast, could not fault it! Fantastic food and great service from our lovely waitress Ella. The caulipops were a particular favourite. Definitely don’t miss this place!

What a find! A family run pun with a Caribbean twist. The food was so good, we had the platter between 3 and there was more than enough. Chicken wings, coleslaw, mac and cheese, fries and the squid! Lovely, friendly staff. Will definitely go back for more. Excuse the photo - we were hungry!

Slow service at the bar with one person on. Uncleared tables outside. I cleared my own table and brought glasses back to the bar. Unisex bathroom with both soap dispensers run out and only cold water. One faucet broken and spinning around on the basin. No acknowledgement from staff. Card only payment. For brighton it's an absolute joke. Good location.

We managed to sneak in without a booking on a busy Sunday (the midday slot) and it was the first week of their new roasts kitchen. I had the lamb shank and partner had the pork. Mine was so tasty, a huge shank which was perfectly tender. Rich bone marrow gravy, good veg (kale, big carrots cooked to perfection, red cabbage) and a huge yorkie - would swerve the smear of puree as a personal preference but otherwise a really good plate. Pork was nice but not quite as good apparently. The one issue we had though was cutlery - it was terrible! When you're paying £18 for a roast you want to be able to cut it! Would recommend they improve on that but otherwise fab service and a nice plate of food.

Came here on my works do, me and my colleague walked in to order everyone’s drinks and was the only people in there ended up in a Mexican stand off with the staff who didn’t approach to serve us for good amount of time just looked at us, when the barman reluctantly came to take my drinks order, I ordered 14 of the two for one cocktails they advertise everywhere he done a massive huff in my face and said ‘I knew you was going to say that’. When they made the drinks I left my colleague to pay he came out and they charged him an extra £10 which I wouldn’t of even mind paying if they wasn’t so rude, when he asked them about it they said 14 two for £10 drinks is £80 and that he was wrong, which anyone who can do basic math knows it’s £70. If I felt like this was an honest mistake I wouldn’t of mentioned it but I felt like they was deliberately trying to pocket the extra money and being dishonest and the drinks are advertised everywhere. We would of voluntary tipped the barman if he didn’t act like it was such a hardship to serve us some premixed cocktails and made us feel uncomfortable for ordering them. We finished our drinks and left and carried on our evening elsewhere.

I have different cards void on contactless payment. One charges me twice and refuses to give back because they said the money gets to the place. I ask for another beer instead of refund and the blond lady manager refuses. Unprofessional! I pay two and drink one. Now I'm on advocacy dispute with Monzo . Avoid contactless payment and get all your receipts. Just in case, I'll not come back anyway

Extremely disappointing drinks, place wrongly advertised as a bar when it's more of a nicely decorated pub for students. I did book for the wrong day but staff were polite (if not a tiny bit patronising) and accommodating of this

Nothing spectacular but not a bad price for the cocktails especially when getting the offer. Quirky little place.

The bar staff will just try to get as much money out of you as possible, the prices get higher as the night goes on, house wine turns in to the top price wine, they won't tell you the price, the staff just hold the end of the card machine at you to hurry you along. They don't accept cash either. Ask for a receipt after every transaction is my advice. (Reading other reviews it's obviously a thing they like to do) This bar didn't used to be like this. Such a shame as it's not a bad vibe in there.

Good deal on cocktails considering how expensive it is to eat in Brighton and delicious food, the gyoza are some of my favourites I've ever had and the portion sizes were banging. Had a lovely time, good vibes

Not a bad word to say, staff are friendly and drinks are good, food was also really tasty and the atmosphere is great, they have heaters on outside at nighttime so is a good place to sit outside but not freeze. They also have a bar on the seafront called the music hall which has live music and is a great place to chill with the same good food!

Came for a vegan roast dinner and it was a very dead meal. Unfortunately, the veg wasn't cooked well and don't get me started on the roast potatoes. Service wasn't great either tbf, didn't seem like there was a manger and took five mins to get cutlery. I can only hope that this review prompts the staff to push for better roast potatoes.

Wouldn't recommend, these guys don't know what they are doing, had cocktails. Charged me double and never brought drinks to table and claimed they had- well meaning staff though. Refused to rectify problem. What a shame :(

Amazing Japanese kebab new to us & fast service

Don't go to this place, its an absolute joke. Took such a long time to take our orders and bring our orders. We ordered mojitos which was so awful we could not even take a sip of it. We though maybe beer would be a safe choice but their beers are watered down and their passion fruit cocktail just tasted like orange juice. When we asked them to change our first drinks they said we could not do that and have to buy new drinks instead.

Went here on a Friday evening - was understandable busy, being the first Friday since easing of the lockdown. Staff were nice and accommodating and drinks were nice however availability on a quite a few drinks was lacking.

Despite an error with the booking they still managed to find us a table. Amazing roast and was given a drink on the house. Staff very helpful.

The service was an absolute joke. So slow, it took more then half a hour for the waiter to take our order and another twenty minutes to have the cocktails. We ordered the 2-4 £10,00 deal, in which the first round of Passion Fruit Martini was simply a sour passion fruit juice. The second round was even worse as we had ordered Espresso Martini, and the waiter delivered our drinks to the table behind. After realising the mistake, the waiter pretended that he prepared new cocktails to us but in reality he served us the same cocktails that erroneously deliver to the table behind by just taking 'some' time in the bar which was actually less than 2 minutes. After I told him that these cocktails are not new and that I have realised what he did, he went inside the bar and poured the cocktails into glasses of water with some ice. When my friend tried the cocktail for the first time, her mouth was full of coffee granules. Overall , we are never going back there for sure.

Absolute joke, £5 a beer to sit in a cage. Ordered “cheesy” chips - no cheese. Slow drinks wouldn’t come again ever

I did not have the best experience at this bar unfortunately. The service was VERY slow, many of those around us left the venue because no one came to take their order. My friends order was forgotten about as well. The cocktails were quite disappointing as well. I want to give this venue the benefit of the doubt though and likely attribute my experience to the fact that they seemed quite short of staff, I believe there were only 2 servers covering at least 25-30 customers.

Nice atmosphere , amazing food. I had the gyozas a while ago and they are on par with how they make them in Japan. Went back for a vegetarian roast the other day and it was BANGING. Please the chef is well fit xxx

I had the most deadout cocktail ever here was literally just juice In your standard cup with a bit of ice, I didn't get once taste of alcohol. Even spoons drinks are better quality. The place itself is nice and I'm sure getting your standard pint or wine is calm.

Came for a roast. It was really good. The meat was super tender. The vegetables were cooked lovely. One thing I would say is that we ordered pigs in blankets for £3 and we got 4 that were not even an inch in size. Our server Zak totally made the experience for us. Such a warm and welcoming service. Smiles and laughs all around. Will be back if they sort out the pigs in blankets. Would have been 5 stars if the pigs in blankets weren't so disappointing

Amazing service and food. Right in the centre so great place to stop while out shopping but also to stay for a cocktail or 3. The vegan and vegetarian food is so tasty. Highly recommended

Nice range of beers and nice space. But the service is rubbish. Any monkey can pull a pint but good bar staff will keep an eye on the order people come to the bar. In here that say “who’s waiting” then serve the pretty girl who’s just walked up. I guess it’s a good venue if your a pretty girl

Popped in for a roast, on my own, on a Sunday after a soggy & cold dog walk. i had heard amazing things about their Sunday roasts, was quite late around 4pm, but they managed to squeeze Lord Travis & I in. I would defiantly recommend booking though as it was very busy. Whole pub is dog friendly with lots of Doggos taking their hoomans out for lunch. Atmosphere is Brighton cool and the staff are really lovely, taking time to check on the lonely woman dating her dog. Which finally brings me to the food, it was INCREDIBLE, one of the best roasts in brighton at the moment. well worth a visit!

£8.60 for a large gin (beefeater) and tonic (postmix) takes the biscuit!

This place is quirky and awesome with extremely friendly staff and awesome cocktails. They claim to have "the best mojitos in brighton" and honestly I believe it. Yum. They had an AWESOME cover band on the Thursday we went too.

A great place to chill with your friends with cocktails and beer. Great atmosphere and an even greater crew behind the bar. Excellent selection of beer including local IPAs. Good music and an interesting audience with many locals.

The bartender needed to look up recipe for a mojito. And took five min to open a bottle. And the lines takes forever yet there is staff just standing around. And this has happened several times ever since the refurbishment. It'd a shame. Cause the location is fabulous

Fantastic bar with a great atmosphere,drinks selection, live music and staff. Unfortunately a couple of reasons mean I can give this place a better review. The first reason is that every time I seem to visit the toilets seem to be in terrible condition with water soaking the floor and just general chaos. Secondly, the vegan roast here was...confusing. A curried vegetable fill pastry sat on top of some kind of salsa salad? Very strange, wouldn't recommend this place for food unfortunately. However definitely visit for a drink or two!

Nice bar! Saw a wriggle deal on cocktails for ‘Upstairs @ Mrs Fitzherberts’ so me and my friends decided to give it a go. Was not disappointed! Lovely drinks! Especially would recommend the Golden Shower cocktail, sweet and fruity but surprisingly strong and lovely presentation. The plant pop cups and the watering can was a nice touch. Very quirky decor and it felt intimate but spacious. Would definitely go back and recommend for anyone who fancies a nice drink. They have a terrace area too which I bet is lovely when it gets a bit warmer. Overall lovely experience!

Definitely one of the best places to go for a chilled drink or lunch with friends and/or the kids. The menu has all the options you need. The quality of the food and portion sizes makes it up there as one of the best pub grub in Brighton town centre especially when it's priced at exceptional value. The service is always friendly and helpful however the guy today was so welcoming, genuine, helpful & friendly - far better than I've experienced in town for a long time! So with great quality food at great value, top friendly service, option to sit outside in the sun or under the heaters, what more could you ask for!

A really cool bar/ eatery. Brilliant choices of food to share or have alone and a wide selection of meat, veggie and vegan dishes to suit everyone. Also a lovely selection of drinks, a good place to try if visiting Brighton.

Really enjoyed this place on a fine night in Brighton. Sat outside under heatlamps soaking up the atmosphere. Expensive...2 X Jameson & Ginger = £17.50. But that seems to be the going rate in that area if Brighton.
