Moko Boutique Cafe & Bar in Hinckley and Bosworth

Moko is a wonderful place to hold an event. I held my boyfriend's surprise 30th birthday at Moko, and had looked all over Leicestershire to find the right place. Molly and Amber were an absolute delight to work with right from the first phone call, to when I dropped in to see Moko 30 minutes later. They gave me total confidence in running an event there. On organising the food for everyone (we had just over 30 people attending), Molly was very open and adaptable on the food options, and was really kind in recommending a good variety that people could enjoy. She was fantastic with allergies, and ensured she had all of this information beforehand, so that the tables of food could be prepared and arranged in a certain way. I'm not Leicester based, so wasn't sure on the best companies to go with for cake/balloons, etc. Molly was immediately able to recommend some local suppliers to help with decorating the venue, making it a perfect surprise celebration. The amount of attention they have put into Moko is really lovely to see. It's wheelchair accessible, modern, and they even had a children's corner to keep the children entertained. For the event itself, everything from food presentation, welcome drinks and making sure everyone was happy and comfortable. They even had blinds to roll down in front of the glass windows to keep the event private, and also hugely helped keep those extra few seconds of suspense making the party a full surprise. I had floods of messages afterwards saying how attentive and lovely the team at Moko were throughout the event, and how lovely the food was too. Working with Molly, I had absolutely 0 stress in the lead up to, or on the day, the Moko's team had taken it all on and did absolutely everything with a smile on their face. We've had messages from family and friends saying they've gone back since the party just to go with their partner or other friends because they loved it. I can't thank the team at Moko enough, it's a birthday he continues to say he'll never forget.

My first ever visit today. My wife was having lunch with a friend elsewhere so after supermarket shopping I needed an alternative spot to give them space. I'd been curious about Moko for some time so thought this was the perfect opportunity to try it out. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my vegetarian brunch and coffee. I'll definitely be returning, with my wife next time. Not relevant to our needs but I liked the fact that it is dog friendly!

My partner booked for 4 people and one baby for lunch at 1230 she booked on Monday for today! Leaving her number and email address. Arrived today with baby in tow in the pouring rain to a sign on the door saying closed for maintenance.... No attempt was made to tell us regarding the cancellation as obviously issues do arise however extremely unhelpful...

Had Mediterranean salad really lovely food and plenty of it. Hubby had fish and chips really lovely food, would recommend here, we didn't book just walked in too.

Lovely place to eat, took my family (8 of us) there for brunch, food was lovely and customer service excellent. Very reasonable price too 🙂

Lovely in the day or at night. Gorge cocktails. Seating of all types inside and outdoor seats. Yummy food and reward stamps. A must for mocktails and cocktails!

Great food and lovely ambiance but service was quite slow.

Fantastic place, very good menu and food was very nice! The only thing i have to say bad is the waitresses face when bringing our food and drinks.. a simple smile makes the experience alot more welcoming and its too often with the younger people now you go to a resteraunt and they look miserable. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but could maybe still pop a smile to paying customers 🤷🏼‍♂️

Stumbled on this lovely bar on a Saturday teatime, having failed to get in somewhere else. Loved the dishes we shared, service was friendly, and a lovely ambience.

First time visit and deffo didn't disappoint, had the tapas and cocktail deal .. wow ! C u all again soon

Visited for the first time today and been meaning to go for a while.we had the full English breakfast with a side of strawberry and Nutella pancakes,the food was fantastic!great food,lovely staff and atmosphere great,definitely going again!

The coffee was a little weak compared to my normal preference but that's more than likely just me being too caffeine orientated, the service was nice and I like how you can see your food being cooked. For food I had a poached egg with potato dish, it was ok but far too much potato, I would say dial back on that and maybe add some more veggies or beans and it would be perfect.

Clean stylish environment. Extensive menu. Good efficient service. Food was good and nicely presented. No hesitation about comung back here. All good.

Very nice little place, perfect for a quick lunch and coffee while out shopping.

Lovely local business. Great selection of food and varied menu. Staff are friendly. Really helpful for me and my baby. Nicely decorated and very thoughtful in the toilets with free period products.

The only issue I found was that the food was prepared but was left on counter for about 5mins before bringing to table and food was not warm enough, informed staff and they were nice and changed it for me. Away round is to put a bell on counter and cook rings it when food is ready to take to table. Can't fault the place food was excellent Staff very nice and polite well worth a try.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime with friends. Vibrant busy buzz. Took a while to get served but hardly surprising as the place was full. Lovely coffee. I had Welsh Rarebit which was nice but was bog standard cheese on toast. The accompanying salad was great though, with a lovely dressing. Not just a garnish afterthought. My fellow diners all enjoyed their burgers and breakfasts so looks like that’s where they excel.

If I could have given no stars for food and service I would have! I attended as part of a large group of 30 for a birthday celebration. We were told we could arrive at 6.30pm for drinks then be seated for our meal at 7pm, and we had all pre booked our meal choices. It was apparent on arrival there wasn’t enough seating but we were assured that a group already seated would be leaving at 7pm. It got to 7.15pm and the other group were all still sat and being served drinks, we asked how long it would be and we were told the group had all finished their meals and it wouldn’t be long. At 7.30pm they were still being served drinks and the host of our party politely asked that the group be asked to go to the sofa area to have their drinks so we could all sit, as they had refused to serve our meals until we were all seated. It was almost 8pm before they started bringing out our food, and it was a shambles!! Despite prebooking they were bringing 2 of 3 bowls of tapas out and not bringing the 3rd until 20 mins later, I got my side 15 mins before my main meal, and two of the people on our table had finished eating before the rest were served. I had a chicken burger and it was dry and tasteless. To top it all there was a constant wait of at least 10-15 minutes between ordering and getting drinks as the bar just couldn’t keep up, and they got a few of the drinks orders wrong. With the exception of one lovely girl clearing the tables the staff were unhelpful and one of them quite abrupt. The whole meal felt uncomfortable and awkward and it ruined the atmosphere completely. Moko cannot cope with large bookings and in my opinion both the food and service are terrible.

As we have only been to Moto for coffee and cakes I can only comment on that element. Every time we have been in, the staff are friendly and the service really good. Nice coffee in a nice environment; a place to try 👍

The two of us ordered the Shakshouka. It wasn’t great, tasty but very watery. We had to leave half the meal as it was more like soup. Considering this, I mentioned it to one of the waitresses, but we basically got ignored. There wasn’t even an apology, or any thing offered instead, a discount or a free coffee.

First time there, when we arrived there was not enough seating for are party having pre booked it was a bad start to the evening, the service of food was slow and very disjointed when it finally started to arrive i had the burger which was OK wife had garlic prawns with side salad and fries, prawns came then there was a delay of about 15 minutes before the rest came, some of are party never started eating till about 25 / 30 minutes after we did not even an apology from the senior member of staff that was in charge just excuses bit of a attitude problem probably won't return very disappointed.

An unexpectedly delicious veggie & full English breakfast in this cute little cafe, whilst passing through Hinckley. Clean & grease free and tasty peppers, mushrooms & fried egg. Presented well & tasted good - result!

Food is amazing and good cocktails are top notch. Lovely Long Island Iced Tea. Definitely recommend.

The food was nice, however there was a 10+ minute wait between my food coming out and my partners coming out. My food was cold by the time theirs came out, and the wait ruined the atmosphere. I was told they only have 1 grill so can only cook one thing at a time, but doesn’t seem like this works?

I went with a friend one Friday morning to try the breakfast wish I'd taken a photo as asked to change the egg as it was well overdone almost like rubber did not get a good response either as if it was a lot of bother bacon, actually all of it was over cooked as if it had been kept under the grill for far too long after wish I'd just sent all of it back .on the positive nice decor and a nice place for a cup of tea and chat with friends

I went to Mojo just to grab something light to eat, and a drink. The drink was average. The food was tragic, we got some small plates, one of which being calamari. The calamari dreadful, it tasted like congealed pasta with no flavour whatsoever. It was definitely processed straight from the bag, no cooking involved. The halloumi was bang average, and luckily you can’t go wrong. I would 100% not return to Moko ever again

Moko Hinckley didn't meet expectations. The food quality was poor and seemed pre-cooked. The small space isn't ideal for dogs, and the table next to us had two large dogs that changed our experience. It's not recommended for non-dog lovers. Although the interior was good, it wasn't enough to make us want to go back. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience.

Small plates and a drink. Calamari was soggy, all other plates were just ok. A few of us with the tapas coming 1 or 2 at a time. Not good as we'd ordered 3 each so took almost 10 mins to get all our order. Should have waited til all was ready together. No apology for forgetting a couple. Blonde haired girl waitress was lovely. Beautiful decor but disappointing food and service

Probably the best place for drinks and lunch in Hinckley right now. Always busy, cocktails are great and have a good happy hour offer on Thur- Sat. Probably a minor thing to mention, but their chips are ridiculously good.

Lovely staff, very nice decor and atmosphere. Perfectly cooked poached eggs. But English breakfast was not very good. Greasy hash browns - soaked in oil, burnt bacon very dry and hard, no butter on toast.

Had some light lunch here with my daughter yesterday. Lovely place and super busy which is great to see. We will be back

It’s a great honour and pleasure to be the first person to review Moko, the hottest new venue to eat and drink in Hinckley. We were huge fans of Benito’s so it was a no brainier to come and try Moko out as it has most of the old staff, the chef and the absolutely amazing Molly and Amber running the restaurant. My fiancé and I came for a late boozy lunch this afternoon, we knew it was going to be good, be even we were surprised by just how bloody brilliant everything was, truly outstanding food drink and service. The decor has been lovingly redecorated keeping the best bits of the old restaurant while making it even cosier than before. You can now have a meal and then move into the lounge area and sit on a variety of comfy sofas and have a few drinks or a coffee. The ambience was lovely, even the music selection was great, it didn’t get in the way and was very pleasant. You can even bring your dog as the restaurant is dog friendly, that’s if your dog isn’t a complete diva like our Pickle (she won’t behave herself anywhere bless her). I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, it was all perfect but I wanted to highlight how spectacular the bacon was, honest to god, this is probably the best bacon I have ever tasted, I was so impressed. My fiancé had halloumi falafel salad with sweetie drop peppers, hummus and sweet potato. It just looked gorgeous, so colourful and appealing, she was certainly very impressed by it. Luckily she also saved me some and I can confirm that it was perfection. Then to the drinks, we had a Pinot Grigio wine that was super, fruity and light and very tasty. Then we had some strawberry margaritas, if you ever had a Benito’s cocktail you will already know how great they are. They are still made by the amazing Amber and are just as great as they have always been, it would actually be rude to go in there and not order one. I could easily imagine sitting in there for hours in the lounge area drinking coffee and just soaking up the atmosphere and then later moving on to the cocktails and have a few small plates, it’s all just so inviting. Extra special thanks to Molly and Amber for instantly making us feel so welcome, we got the full VIP service from all of the awesome team at Moko. So go to Moko, support Hinckley’s small businesses and have a great time eating great food and trying their large selection of boozy and non boozy drinks, you really won’t regret it!

I visited Moko with my fiancé Tim today and just wanted to leave a review because I was so impressed by everything this restaurant has to offer. I hardly ever review places but we had such a great afternoon late lunch that I felt the need to share my experience. From start to finish the service was excellent, the owners Molly and Amber weee so friendly and we felt immediately comfortable in this cosy and cool redesigned location. The food was so nice, I had plate envy of every dish being delivered to patrons on other tables, that was until mine arrived! My halloumi and falafel salad was just gorgeous, it was just what I wanted and was beautifully presented, so tasty. Both the wine (Pinot Grigio) and the cocktails (strawberry margarita) were top notch, I could easily sit there for hours drinking these thanks to such a tempting wine and cocktail menu. So glad we came in this afternoon, I would definitely encourage everyone to go down and get some amazing food and drinks at Moko.
