Moka Dining in Hillingdon

Mother's day lunch. Very busy, as we expected and tables very close together. Great decor, however music was really loud, speakers on so loud they were distorting, very unpleasant - I requested they turn down the music a little, which they did, then every few minutes it went loud then disappeared entirely then a violinist appeared for a couple of mins then went again - odd for somewhere that clearly puts a lot into ambience! Food was great, generous portions and flavourful. Menu tries to be a bit different - poppadoms are called crunchie munchies! Overall we enjoyed it but we're glad to leave the chaotic music behind

Another excellent tasty meal at Moka. We had the broccoli starter, butter tikka chicken, and kerala fish - all delicious. The whole experience was made extra special by the superb service of Rajesh - friendly and professional. Looking forward to next visit

My wife and I went for a meal for her birthday, although they didn't know! We had a reservation for 6.30pm and were greeted at the door and given a choice of tables. The restaurant was warm, clean with a good subdued atmosphere. We were impressed by the number of families, most appeared to be from the Indian subcontinent, eating even though it was a Tuesday night, always a good sign. Our very friendly waiter, Raghu, gave us good advice, especially as we were unfamiliar with some of the dishes, although we are regular curry eaters. He helped us especially with the Gol Gappa 'starter', which neither of us had eaten previously. We also had Avocado Chaat. For the main course we ate Martaban Ka Lahori Gosht, a succulent lamb dish served in a clay pot. Dakhni Jhinga, a prawn dish in a tomato based sauce together with Nizami Tarkari Biryani, vegetables and rice in a covered pot. All three of these were good sized portions, roasting hot, spicy, but not overpowering. Plus drinks, one sweet, one coffee and service charge all for just over £100. I think this was great value, especially as we had so much there is a 'doggy bag' left over for lunch tomorrow! Any gripes? Well, for me, the music was a little loud, but that is a personal preference and neither my wife, nor other dinners appeared to be concerned. I would most certainly put this on my list of 'must go agains', and often.

Superb food, interesting and different menu, excellent service and comfortable setting. I look forward to visiting Moka whenever I'm in Northwood.

I came here to celebrate a very special milestone birthday for my sister with all of my family. I had a really smooth process booking the table in advance and the staff were accommodating to my requests We had a lovely waiter Rajesh who was honestly so helpful attentive and happy to help with anything, he even brought out the cake we arranged for my sister and pulled off the whole surprise really well The interior of the restaurant is really beautiful and the food was delicious! We ordered several different curries as well as grilled dishes and sundries- all really tasty and the starters were so well flavoured and interesting especially the papdi chaat I would highly recommend this place especially if you are celebrating a special occasion as they were really attentive Rajesh is a great member of your team, well done to him as well as the chef and general experience we had The only critiscism I had is the poppadum is placed all over the table without us asking (we were given 4 separate units with them) and it is chargeable, I have never been to an Indian restaurant where there is a charge for poppadum, it wasn’t a problem but I feel they should have said it wasn’t on the house as was a little misleading and quite pricy Nevertheless I wouldn’t hesitate to return, thanks Moka dining!

Food was ok, ambience nice but experience was awful. Tables too close together that even staff members were brushing the side of me, couple tables not enough room to put more than 2 dishes and the Gent toilets is a joke, how can 2 people pee at the same time with the urinal so close together, never ever seen anything like it.

It was not our first visit, but we brought some friends for whom it was. Firstly, the food was excellent. Fantastic flavours and an alternative approach. All of us enjoyed the whole menu and the items we chose. However, the service was less than idea and certainly more was expected. Main courses appeared before starters , empty plates, glasses etc. did not get removed and we had to ask several times. On one occasion we had to ask 4 different members of staff for knives whilst our food got cold. After our initial drinks (as we ordered) no one asked if we wanted anything further. To be honest all of this was a real deterrent to coming again. To be fair to management when it was raised we received an apology and they went further to rectify the situation. We will come again and hopefully will not encounter the same problem. On least comment we know you are trying to create an atmosphere with the music, but it is so loud it stops conversation at the table.

Do not go. Bad service. Expensive. Loud. Too packed in like sardines. I wish I had read the reviews first as I would not have gone

went here for the first time with my daughter and 2 friends. where do I start.. arrived for out 8pm reservation and placed our order for drinks and starters straight away. Drinks came right away, however by 8 30 the starters had still not arrived. We asked one of the waiters who went to check on the order, came back and told us it was being plated up. It was now 8 45 and still no starters. spoke to the manager Deepak who told us it will be out in a minute. At 9pm still no starters so we complained to Deepak the "manager" who said that there was a miscommunication with the food order and that he will take the drinks off our bill. We told him that we will not be paying for the starters as we have been waiting an hour! He was very rude and was not willing to listen to what we were saying and just waved him arms about and spoke with alot of attitude. the apology was not very sincere but he finally agreed on not charging us for the starters. when we were handed our bill, they had charged for the poppadoms and the service charge! the service was absolutely diabolical from most of the staff there except one of the waiters, Rajesh who was so apologetic and kept coming over to check everything was ok. Deepak however is in noway fit to be a manager in this so called "fine dining" restaurant. When I asked the "manager" for his name, he lied and gave one of the other waiters name so that nothing comes back on him but I asked one of the other staff members who gave me his real name; Deepak!! The food itself was tasteless and came out cold. This is the first and last time we will ever step foot in this place. i have friends who wanted to book 2 birthday parties here but have already warned them not to make that mistake! we understand that mistakes happen but the way Deepak handled the whole situation made it worse. The management totally let this place down.

I went here last night with friends and my niece. We had a booking for 8pm and ordered straight away. Our starters had not even arrived by 9pm. When we asked multiple staff including deepak and the other manager about 4 times we kept being told it's coming in 2 mins. Whilst we understand mistakes happen my issue is with Deepak Sharma who is an absolutely terrible manager. He has no people skills whatsoever and was rude and aggressive in his manner. To top it off I observed him shouting at his staff in the restaurant. When he was asked his name he also lied and provided a false name and gave one of the waiters names as he knew a complaint would come through. Deepak should definately not be in a front facing role if he does not know how to respectfully deal with customers and his staff. I would no way want to contribute to a restaurant that treats people this way! To top it off the food was cold and bland and not even worth the wait. We ended up paying for drinks only almost £35 for 2 virgin coladas, a virgin monitor, coke and lemonade... What a rip off!! The only positive thing I can say is that our waiter Rajesh was absolutely amazing and accommodating and it's clear from reviews that he is the only assett to this business!
