Moja Indian And Bangladeshi Takeaway in Stockton-on-Tees

Fantastic indian food, they have won many awards and rightfully so. My go to Indian lovely food, I always get the roshni madras and its always fantastic they have the same chef so the food is always consistent. Always full of flavour

I used to disaster enjoy the food from this takeaway but lately quality has been inconsistent which is disappointing, the same dish two weeks in a row doesn’t even taste the same! The seafood sharing dish is awful the description says crab - what you actually get are fish sticks! Cheap supermarket bought mussel not what you expect for £20 Also the delivery times are just terrible! There is an option to select asap on the website which is usually 45/50 minutes - but you’ll give that it actually takes 90 /100 minutes for delivery which would be fine if that’s what you were expecting. Must other takeaways delivery in 60 mins

Excellent as usual. I’ve tried probably all the Indian restaurants in the area and have to say this place beats them all hands down. Food is always presented perfectly so thank you to the chef/chefs. Staff are also very polite and remember you by name which I think is great. See you again soon

This takeaway used to be great. Unfortunately, just recently the quality of the food has become inconsistent. Sometimes, the sauce is very watery, and sometimes the spicing is not right. Delivery times are also inconsistent, arriving an hour earlier than booked for, or arriving over an hour later than requested. It’s time to find an alternative.

You can't fault the food here, but the value for money has decreased significantly in recent times. In less than a year the prices have increased by around a 3rd. I buy the same meal each time I go, it used to be £11+ now it's £15+. Until recently you used to get a 10% reduction for collecting the food but they have removed that too now. Unfortunately, I can't justify that much on a takeaway and won't be using the place again.

Avoid. As the title describes, food came cold, and inedible. Restaurant staff unhelpful when calling to discuss. No resolution, don't trust this place.

Moja does lovely curry. Unfortunately they are hit and miss when it comes to delivery and service. It's either really good or really poor.Don't order if you have time constraints as if you have a 'miss' they don't refund, only replace.I wonder if they realise that the Chartered Institue of Environmental Health state that hot food should be served at 63°C or above. It's hard to check temperature of delivery (though the driver assured us it was hot) at the door, but when serving it was evident that it would need the bin or reheating. I could hold the bottom of the metal curry container without burning myself! A health and safety nightmare.A mask wouldn't go amiss when handing the food over at the door either.

Ordered food at 5.20pm via the website. Was told it would be here by 7pm. At 7.30pm I rang & was told it was on its way. At 8.30 I rang again and just as I rang - it turned up!!However, it was missing a pilau rice and the king prawn biryani had about 5 prawns & was mostly potato!!The Sag Paneer was very watery and I couldn’t eat the sag aloo as my biriyani was already full of potato!!I know it was New Year’s Eve in lockdown but if they had too many orders and couldn’t cope they should have let me know or stopped taking orders. Won’t be using them again!

Ive been ordering from Moja for over 3 years and they've never let me down, food is always spot on and the service is always good, sometimes deliveries can be slow but what we expect during covid, I always order the jalfrezi , lovely blend of spice and it nice kick to it with the fresh chillies along with their keema garlic naan. I wouldn't order anywhere else. highly recommended.

30% good, 70% bad! Even worse customer service! (Don’t complain about the food or you get picked on) Wouldn’t order again. Re heated food. Cheap chicken. Ughhh

We ordered food last week, items missing emailed to say items missing, no reply or apology, thought we would try again, wish we hadn’t,t, my curry was far too hot for the curry chosen, the spices had not been cooked out resulting in an inedible meal, rang to complain to be met with the comment “what do you want me to do about it” put onto someone else who I assume was the manager, to be shouted at, not listened to, offered a replacement meal, which was not acceptable, poor, poor, poor service , do not use this establishment.

I have been here a few times and no matter what I choose the food is spicy hot, too hot for my partner and it does take me a little time to get through it but it has so many flavours in it.

Got a take away last night and it was a dish I’ve never tried. Wow was simply gorgeous the lamb just melted in my mouth and the flavours were amazing. Wouldn’t order from anywhere else xx

first time visiting Moja as I live in Middlesbrough we fancied a change from our local Indian and heard good reviews about Moja, we ordered through their online websit whichas straight forward and simple, very easy to pay as they have a paypal option which made it easier. Collection time was 20 minutes which was very good for a Saturday night. When we arrived we were surprised at how clean and beautiful the decor is, we spotted Moja a mile off its stands out from the other takeaways, we were greeted when we entered and our order was ready for us. After another 15-20 minutes journey home the food was very hot, it was well packed along with the naan bread in a foil bag which was good. The food tasted fantastic every mouthful was full of flavour, the madras was spicier than my usual but enjoyable. It was definitely worth travelling to Moja.

Can’t get enough of this place, absolutely delicious every time we order, love every bit of it, definitely recommend the chicken Momo starter, anyone who wants a proper indian curry try Moja it’s the only takeaway I’d order from. 10/10

Food got delivered but was wrong order so waited for out to ger sent back out when it came had blantently been opened when i was assuree it hadnt and was freezing what a waste of nearly £27.00. Got told to bag it up and the driver would collect it n resend fresh out but it was late and my kids were hungry shocking service

Food was tastless, and poppadoms were soft , also got a balti for my wife because she doesn't like spicy food and it burnt her mouth out so she couldn't enjoy it mine had the heat but just no taste to the main dish or the keema rice.

Curry lids had come off and curry was stone cold.

Both curries had more onions in then the actual meat and prawns. And the onion pieces were huge. Wasn't impressed and the chappatis were tiny compared to any other place I've ever ordered from. Won't be ordering again. As they seemed to have no answer for the onion curries.

Called restaurant 30 mins after food was due and they still hadn’t left. Was told 15 mins to arrive but took over half an hour more making it just over 1 hour late. Add this delay to the time between ordering and we waited 2 hours for our food which arrived cold although it tasted good.

Based on tonight's performance I'm very disappointed. The food arrived nearly 50 mins late. The lid was mot sealed well on one of the food containers and the brown split when I lifted it out of the plastic carry bag resulting in waisted food being spilt over the counter tops. Also through Just Eat the restaurant has 1.5 ltr bottles of coke advertised for £2.00 and they have delivered a 1.25 ltr bottle of coke instead. This is the second time the restaurant has done this. This is false advertising and day light robbery.

Arrived late and food had cooled quite a bit (ordered at 6 ISH quoted delivery 19:05 received 19:45). Tasted really good despite the temperature and the staff I spoke to were pleasant. Will order again in future as the aforementioned was hopefully a one off

50 minutes late. No help from the staff at the restaurant. I understand that Saturday nights are busy. But give extra time on just eat if you cannot make the delivery. Thankful the food was to a great standard and still warm enough to eat.

Food was 45 mins late. When it arrived there was a main dish missing. Told it was going to be 15 mins. 30mins later once the rest of the family had finished eating it arrived. When i asked the driver about a refund on the main meal that ultimately went straight in the bin he had a very dismissive attitude and just walked off.

Food was close to an hour late, unable to get through to restaurant via phone had to go through JustEat customer help. No apology or explanation when food was finally delivered why it was so late, food had also obviously gone cold by the time it arrived. Majority of food was extremely greasy and not very flavoursome

Food was late and arrived cold. Manager accused us of lying about it being cold and was very rude in the background. Claimed the food was just cooked and delivered, but only a five minute drive for it to arrive stone cold Food was not enjoyable once re heated and definitely wasn't worth the money. Won't be ordering from here again

Don’t think I will be ordering from them again, food was extremely late although the it was ‘en route’ for almost an hour, food was stone cold when it arrived and the chips were dry, chicken was dry and popadom was not crisp at all. Not a satisfied customer..

Late and cold. Won't be wasting my time with this place again. They updated the app to say it was delivered on time which is a bit sneaky. I dont live far from the restaurant, would have been warmer if I walked it home! Don't let the "award winning" title fool you.

I ordered through Just Eat, the order was due to arrive at 19:40, it got to 19:50 and the app said it had been delivered! Clearly they are being sneaky to keep their Just Eat stats good. It arrived at 20:15 and it was cold! I called them back and they said they would get the driver to come and collect it and then send a replacement. I refused and asked for a refund. They told me to go through Just Eat for the refund and they would be around shortly to collect the food. After wasting 20 mins going through Just Eat I was informed that the restaurant had already called Just Eat to cancel the order, I feel this was so I couldn't review them on the app. God knows why this place has won any awards. I will be advising everyone to avoid this place, go to Jolsha a few doors up, they serve tasty, HOT food.

Korma was watery and tasteless. Chips were cold and rice clumpy. Popiduns were not crisp at all very chewy. Disappointing.

Bought a takeaway from here last night. Staff were very friendly giving a prompt service. The food was amazing, best curry I’ve had in a long time. Would recommend and would go back. Good portion sizes and prices, good quality dishes, tasted great. Thank you Moja!

The food was delivered late which was fine as the delivery driver was really lovely. The chicken tikka was okay but I feel like the vegetable saag was just thrown together. The delivery driver was the best part of the meal.

Waited over an hour and half for food to arrive then once it came I had to reheat it. I also ordered 2 cans of Fanta but when I opened the bag of food i had been given 2 cans of coke. When I rang the restaurant I was informed they had no Fanta left so they just gave me coke instead of Fanta. I have never drank full fat coke, I should of been contacted and offered and alternative. Instead they just assumed I would be ok with coke.

Food came late, cold and hardly any flavour. Had to reheat in microwave when arrived. Phoned when 20mins late to be told it would be extra 20 mins and staff didnt seem to care. Very disappointing and expensive. Meant to be award winning but service and value for money definitely not.

The lamb from one of the dishes was awful, rock hard and the sauce was bland, was really disappointed in the whole meal, when your paying £25 for a takeaway for two I expected a lot more. Won’t be ordering from here again

This is our local take-out and we count ourselves lucky! We always have delicious meals from here, can't fault it at all. I always get the butter chicken and have never been disappointed. Keep it up!

Not sure how they won a BTA, certainly wasn’t for taste. Every dish tasted the same, tasteless other than the salt. Yogurt dip was curdled, paneer was like dust, naan was like cardboard, veg samosa was filled with baby food.

What can I say everyone that have left a good review must have zero taste buds I'm not a food expert but after trying many curry houses this is buy far the worst I have had bitter and over powering was an understatement I'm hopefull that this was just a bad batch of Madras and with it arriving over 45 mins late and the app saying delivered on time had to go on Google to get restaurants number to see where my food is was the icing on the cake never again sorry

Read good reviews about this place. However upon ordering the food it didn’t arrive for over an hour and 30 minutes. The food was very cold when it got here meaning I had to warm everything up in the microwave. Curry wasn’t that flavoursome either. Will definitely not be ordering from here again.

After finding Moja i havent been to another indian takaway since. Im sworn by the indian jalfrezi with lamb. P e r f e c t.

food came 15 mins early but was still freezing cold for some reason. the quality of the chicken in the curry is one of the best I’ve had very impressed but the curry had a very over powering taste of cumin was still nice. still undecided if I’d order again as curry was only half full so hardly any sauce .

spices and flavoring was goon and naan bread was exceptional. Only downside was the onion bhaji's were obviously prepared well in advance as the were on the dry side, chicken was also a bit dry. Need to cook food fresher in my view.

Was nice and delivery spot on, the naan was a little undercooked with not much garlic on it and the tikka was bit bland and frozen chips. Vadah still winning me over but was nice and would order again for sure just needs a few twerks

The vegetable madras, was clearly made with frozen/ tinned veg. Awful. It was tasteless, and a waste of money. Overall quite disappointing, considering we ordered such a great meal recently.

I’ve have my fair share of indian takeaways over the years and I’ve not come across any as good as Moja, their spice and attention to detail in each curry gives them the edge over the rest. I’ve never had a bad curry from Moja and I’ve been ordering from here for over 3 years, any issues I’ve had their always resolved it and kept me happy. They’ve always gone the extra mile to make sure my curries are perfect and the way I want it. My favourite dish has the to be the chicken jalfrezi, it’s got fresh green chillies with onions although I do ask for mine to be extra hot and it always meets my expectations. Very good Moja keep it up.

I was a little hesitant to order after reading a few reviews about late deliveries and cold food but once the food arrived I was pleased I did. The food arrived around 10/15 minutes early and was piping hot. Really enjoyed the meal and will be ordering from Moja again when the craving for for something spicy hits me.

I’ve always came to Moja as it’s the best curry around. but lately it’s not the same I thought I’d try a chicken tikka masala for a change well..... I always thought it was to suppose to have chunks of chicken tikka ? nope it was sliced the masala tasted like tomato soup the keema Nan had a spread of meat in it so I wasn’t to pleased so now I’ve found another top Indian sorry moja you’ve lost my custom

This place is the best, lovely fresh food. Their delivery times can be late especially on weekends but I guess it’s down to how busy they are, I always collect as it’s easier and quicker my favourite dish is the Moja special it’s got prawns chicken and lamb delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful if your picky with food , can’t fault anything the place is clean and fresh only downside is delivery but I guarantee it’s worth the wait.

I always travel out of town to get a curry from Moja I’ve never had a bad one yet, service to taste it’s always spot on, my food has always been ready for me in collection and I get 10% discount. Which is a bonus. Highly recommended

We love the food from here. We always collect, we live in Middlesbrough and although we have some nice indian takeaways this one has become our new favourite.
