Costa Coffee in Stockton-on-Tees

Very very slow through both the window drive thru and behind the counter. Not quick enough like other costa .. staff to busy laughing and joking with each other and not getting on with there job! Serving

Normally a trip to Costa is fine as the coffee is A1 as you expect from a Premium coffee shop. However I had a negative experience for once on my visit to the Stockton industrial estate site. The shop was virtually empty with no queue and the two young men looked very unhappy to see me. I ordered a special from the overhead boards which included a ham/cheese toastie, the guys told me to " get it myself and bring it to the counter". Then it was re-heated left for 5 mins then given to me with another less than happy look. Must do better Costa not your best service day. On another note the toastie was bland and flat as a pancake, you may wish to re-visit this snack line?

Nice branch friendly staff always happy with a smile is my usual coffee shop on way to work through the drive-thru don’t usually have any issues apart from the last 3 visits at drive thru order has been wrong and have been unable to return to get corrected as on route up the A19, asked for A vanilla latte with coconut milk, twice they have had no Vanilla in them, and the one I had today had no vanilla or coconut milk in them. Which is disappointing.

Had a cheese twist, vanilla latte, and bottle of water, was nice and chilled in there at 9:15am. on a Sunday. Only down point, could have had the air con on, or on a better setting. When it got busier and warmer, got a but stifling in there.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. I usually drink chais nowadays but ordered one and the flavouring in it was too strong even for me. I couldn't drink it but they happily changed it for a regular latte and were friendly and chatty right til the end even though they must have been getting ready to go home. I would go here again for the service.

This review is mainly for the staff at this Costa! Costa is after all “Costa’ 🤷‍♂️ The two staff members who served me the other day were absolutely awesome and even managed to decipher a friends text request which stated ‘latte frothyness’ The venue itself is very clean and has all the usual Costa options on offer, easy wheelchair access and plenty of easy free parking too.

I’m from Yorkshire deliverd a car next door DLG waited for colleges to pick me up he said an hour I thought I have brew at costa so order a hot chocolate I calle it cold chocolate as it was really cold and the staff wasn’t very warm not complaining about the price as everything is raising lol

Probably the slowest Costa ever. We had 30 mins to kill before an appointment with wren kitchens, only had 6 minutes to eat our food and drink our coffee before our appointment

Expensive coffee and staff seemed to be detached from the fact that they should provide friendly customer service. They should learn to smile .

I went here at about 9am. Had a cup of tea and a croissant. It was clean and tidy. Service was quick. It wasn't very busy at all so great to get some work done

Drive through: Waiting for them to sort out the car in front with only three drinks took forever. Ordered Black Forest hot chocolate - must have made incorrectly, as all the syrup was at the bottom. (Trained to stir before handing over or pump syrup first then pour hot chocolate on top) Don’t go, there is a better Starbucks further up.

Always excellent coffee in Billingham.

Tables not clear from previous customers and rubbish on floor

Possibly the slowest Costa in the entire world. Even with only 3 people in the queue it took absolutely ages. Tables not cleared, food and crumbs on the floor and a stinky toilet. Not somewhere for a "quick" coffee. You'd get one faster by driving home and making it yourself.

Bit too loud for my liking but coffee is nicer than most places

As usual.. air con pumping out even though it was a grey day and didn't need to be on. Always cold and everyone moves around to get away from them.

Was 5 stars. Updating as I go often. Hit and miss with drinks. Having to clean my own table and move plates and food from previous person. Sandwiches not cut. No napkins. Didn't make my drinks as takeaway. Just poored into a takeaway cup which made the latte look like a home made coffee. When I asked sandwiches to be cut. I was watching a person empty the bins, she then went to cut my sandwiches. Didn't even wash her hands. Chasing up issues, dirty table and staff not cleaning hands. Expect better to say I'm spending over £20.

Slow service, and always multiple tables needing clearing away and cleaned. Very poor.

Needs a refurb and a good clean on the customer side of things.

Love the place, we go way too often and are known by some of the staff. Standard of cleanliness/cleared tables can depend on whether the manager is in or not I'm sorry to say.

Absolute terrible service. Staff are clueless. Can't even make a frappe. Complete waste of money. All I ended up with was a cup of frothy milk with cream on top. Worst Costa I've been to. Been here twice and both times I have been ripped off. If it wasn't a take out I'd of asked for a refund. Never again!

We use the drive thru here regularly. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Coffee amazing.

Love this coffee shop best bacon buns served crispy and lovely creamy coffee, makes my morning worthwhile.

Love Costa, but sometimes don't always have soya milk in. Love the bacon bap/coffee and friendly staff.

Online the service is advertised to close at 6pm although it is 5pm Had no cream for frappe Staff had already started to clean. Felt like they didn't appreciate our late arrival Didn't have food so can't rate. Asked to leave the building at 5

Appallingly slow staff, with a cocky attitude towards customers.

Called in for a coffee about 11-15am. When walking in noticed the bin outside the main entrance was overflowing, and over spill was scattered around. Used the toilet before leaving, again the cleansing had a lot to be desired with tissues and toilet paper scattered around & dirty corners. Very disappointed with a branch as new as this one. Maybe it's simply a training issue that needs addressing. Costa Coffee prices aren't particularly cheap, the staff will be on low wages possibly more staff needed to bring up to the expectations of customers?

Ordered ham and cheese toastie, got home and it's not even the right toastie and I don't like it. Waste of money as I have no time to go back

Tables are always dirty , why tidy cups etc and not clean tables. ?????? Loads dirty tables pots etc. How do they keep up when having to serve drive through and cafe ?????? Doesn't work it as knock on effect with dirty cafe

Absolutely filthy tables and floors windows and door, Dirty pots on tables, Its only 11.30am. What a shame for a new modern place. Will not be returning.

Lovely costa, one of our favourites. Is also a drive through. We didn't eat anything only hit drinks. It's clean and calm. Staff were lovely and quick service. Drinks were spot on.

All 4 female staff were helpful with preparing our order for 4 people, making sure we had everything we needed. Premises were clean and comfortable.

Love the place and caramel latte

Absolutely loved visiting here on a late night shop from Whitby. Was ready for a coffee and so glad that could rest and have a bite to eat much later than the standard stores.

Veggie breakfast box was insane, it was good recommendation from the staff.

It's Costa's so no real surprises in what they serve. I like this particular branch. It's a new building which is feels spacious and light. Staff are friendly and you can have a laugh with them. Located on Portrack lane, go sit in there while the missus wastes 4 hours walking round and round Dunelm 😁

Was unusually below par.... The cream on our hot chocolate had a funny taste. Reported it and only suggested to mention it next time we visit!

Avoid this Costa only 1 baby change/disabled toilet combied and 1 mixed toilet which was disgusting and dirty shocking having to que for a mixed toilet

Busy Saturday and a little bit messy. Seemed a bit disorganised.

Just purchased a salted caramel latte , it was just warm, very bitter and had no salted caramel in it I was very looking forward to this Instead i had to throw it away , what a waste of money

Coffee OK but staff not very friendly and although there was only 3 other tables occupied we counted 8 tables that needed clearing away and cleaning Won't be rushing back to this Costa

It's a Costa and given that they are all very similar this one didn't offer any surprises.

New build and it much better less people than town because it over crowd. Nice and tidy.

Just walked in and ordered what I felt was a fairly faffy order with a bit of an awkward payment method/s but staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The Tropical Mango Frappe was delicious.

Why are Costa staff always sniffy?

Staff are always friendly and its probably the cleanest Costa in the area.

No sugar free treat here. The staff felt slightly put out when asked. Even a sandwich would of done but they couldn’t think that fast. Nice place, busy small car park which is filled mainly by staff cars. Bad thing about this place is they play music far too loud until the speakers distort.

Brilliant staff and in a great location, very rarely do we wait more than 3 or 4 minutes to be served and away. Highly recommended

Really outstanding customer service. I don't visit Costa very often, as I find a lot of their products a bit sweet for my taste, but I chose this one because it is close to my favourite diy supplier. I'm glad I did because when I said I wasn't familiar with the drive through menu the order taker gave me a little time to look things over. I asked for a dash of flavoured syrup, so they explained how much syrup is used in the flavoured coffees and asked if I'd like a little less. To top things off, the order taker also gave me a rundown of the available sandwiches. Talk about patient! So a big shout out to Conor, who goes the extra mile to make new customers welcome, and really does epitomise everything I would look for in good service. And thank you also to the blonde lady who took my payment. She knew all about the app and how to get the best value from the free rewards. Her patience and good humour is outstanding.

Great staff, lovely new store, best coconut and vanilla latte anywhere.

Don't waste your money buying a coffee here, the coffee is the weakest in town and the worst Costa I've ever tasted! Starbucks is only down the road! 7:30am on Friday and then today (Monday) I bought a latte - the staff were lovely especially considering the card machine was down on both days however the coffee was like drinking hot milk!

Great place to visit, and very friendly staff, would definitely recommend! 🙂
