Great little chippy with friendly staff. Ordered a fish cake which was very tasty and piping hot. Will be back soon.

Great chip shop. I'm abit fussy about fish and chips and Robinson's at Billingham never disappoint. Every time they are gorgeous. Lovely staff, chatty and friendly. They get to know you and are always welcoming. I recommended it to my parents and now they don't go anywhere else. Well done and keep up the good work. 😊

I have reviewed Robinsons previously 5 years ago however I wanted to acknowledge how fabulous they still are. The fish is always fresh & I recommend paying the extra for the large. It is worth it. Both the cod & haddock are superb but the haddock is served with the skin. (Apparently it’s to prove it is genuine!) The chips are just gorgeous & you have the option of different size portions. The batter is honestly to die for. I always order online & the order is ready to collect. The staff are so friendly & the shop is the cleanest fish & chip shop anywhere. Wolviston Court you don’t know how lucky you are having this gem on your doorstep!

Class fish and chips cooked in beef dripping

We have previously recommended this shop. However, the last two times we have had fish and chips I'm sorry to say the chips have been too dry and simply awful.

1st visit, was really looking forward to it as it had been well recommended by family. We're going to have to have words with the family as it was really poor. Not to our liking. Disappointing!

I thought I would try Robinson and leave an honest review. I ordered large fish and chips and large mushy peas. And I must say the fish was great lovely and white with a very nice crunch. The mushy peas again great taste. But the portion of chips was poor, shame as I think everything was spot on and the staff are really nice.

Really good chippy. Always fresh, Always tasty and decent portions. The staff are brilliant and a credit to the place. Often order in advance and very well organised and very busy. My parents also use them and won't go anywhere else. 🙂

We ordered online for collection food was ready at collection time. Friendly staff. Very busy shop We had Haddock and chips. Good portion size and very tasty definitely worth the visit.

Love this place, whether I have fish, sausage or patty it's always exceptional. The gravy is gorgeous too. Would give 6 stars if I could!

Lovely fresh food big servings great staff

First time I’ve been here. I’m surprised at the good reviews. Maybe I was unlucky. I got large cod and chips but when I got back home and opened the box the fish was small especially for the price and there wasn’t many chips either which don’t cost a lot. I also asked for salt and vinegar which I didn’t get and scraps that I didn’t get so very disappointed. Won’t be trying again

There was a long wait as it was busy which is fair enough. Some old woman pushed infront of me and they served her first even though I'd been waiting about 5-10 minutes and she litrally just walked in. I ordered 3 chips and sausage with a side. The sides came in stupidly small tubs and were lukewarm. The food quality was not up to the standard I expected considering how busy the place is. Also the food was more exspensive than other chippys in the area. Definitely won't be going back.

Regular fish n chips and a mini,nearly 18£, was shocking the Regular fish was the size of a fish finger, the mini was even smaller, chips under done, curry sauce was an awful fruity taste and the peas, we where lucky, if we had 3 mouthful, between us, defo drive past it next time.

Hubby's favourite chippy. The fish is freshly caught, with the date, place and ships name on public display. The staff are very friendly and orders are expedited at a good rate considering everything is cooked to order. The length of the queue, tells how good the food is.

Fish is good not a lover of chips

These are the best fish and chips in the area, there is an extensive menu as well but have not tried that.

Amazing fish and chips. Stumbled upon this shop around 6 months ago when passing through the area and now come weekly..always hot and freshly cooked. Good size portion. Staff always friendly. Love how they are served in boxes. It may seem a little expensive to some but we feel it is well worth the price and have no complaints.

Great for traditional fish and chips. Just called in again, delicious as ever.

Just had a small cod and chips lunch with peas and onion rings fish was lovely fresh and crispy batter in truth I've had better onion rings peas nice and loved that they had cream soda and dandelion and burdock drinks and the girls working were lovely would recommend

Been here 3-4 times now and I think it might be a new favourite. The food is always fresh and tasty and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The curry sauce is amazing too.

Phoned and ordered as saw that the fish shop had been getting awards for what I ask ,we asked for our order 20 to 25 mins expecting it to be nice and hot how wrong we were they were lukewarm and tasted as though they had been stood most of the afternoon and very rubbery the fish was very small in size ,the shop we normally use is double the size I hate waste but on this occasion the best place for the meal is in the bin absolutely the worst fish and chips I've ever had and wont be going back

Gone down hill! fish were so small I thought they were sausages, portions tiny and curry sauce was missing from order. This place used to be fabulous such a let down ! This was a phone order for 2 portions of fish and chips with curry and peas..photo attached of the two fish, it looks like one cut in half!

Heard this fish and chip shop had been highly rated in UK so tried it for the first time. I think they are focusing too much on the service with the buzzing fobs (in an empty shop) than the actual food. Tasted good but the smallest portion of fish and chips I’ve ever had. Usually get two cod and a large chips between 2 adults and a child but wasn’t enough to go round. It’s the daft boxes they put them in now, can’t get a decent sized piece of fish in. Stick to wrapping up in paper! The side pots were also small too, only get 2 spoonfuls of peas. Works out really expensive for what we had. Because they use card boxes and paper bags, all the grease leaked through in the car onto my coat too.

Had a large cod (no chips, so this review does not cover that). Was offered scraps without asking, which is a plus. Boards show where the fish currently being served is from (cod from Atlantic trawlers, I think, and haddock from Scotland). Very nice to see that. Also very good to use beef dripping. Service was friendly and efficient. The fish tasted fresh and moist, very good. I always look for super crispy and gnarly batter, however, but the batter I got here was only ok, had some crispy parts at the edges, but was a bit soggy and greasy around the middle of the fish. I'm sure a small tweak could make that top notch.

Last minute decision to pop in and get food. Staff fantastic as it was near closing nothing was too much for them. The food was very nice. Look forward to calling again....

Just had fish and chips twice from here I would not be going again this is the worse fish and chips we've ever had the fish was rubbery and the chips some rubbery also, this is the first time we've been definitely won't be returning very disappointed

Very disappointed. Went last night and ordered 2 x Fish Patties & Large Chips & 2 x Cartons of Chinese Curry. Chips were soggy, soft and greasey and the Patties were poor with very little fish in the middle of the Pattie. Have been here before and had some lovely fish & Chips. Not nice at all especially for the price you pay for these.

Cod is always fresh, lovely light crispy battery and soft fluffy cod. Chips are standard chippy chips, exactly as you'd expect. I order for collection every Friday and it's always ready waiting for me whenever I arrive. Staff are always welcoming and pleasant, their service and professionalism in store and over the phone is superb. Prices are also very reasonable.

fish and chips tonight great as usual. bit busy when i went in but the the girls were great and walked out with freshly cooked fish and chips in no time. chinese curry a great addition. it was emotional.

We have been going here for well over a year due to the quality of the fish and chips. Sadly I won’t be rushing back again. I have found in recent months that the cod can be chewy and dry and not at all fresh seeming or enjoyable to eat. The chips are good and the batter is spot on but for £6 a pop the fish needs to be far better. Sorry robinsons but 3 poor experiences in 2 months has put me off.

Got there at 11.30 when they open. No queue. Then had to wait 15mins for them to cook the chips. Wouldn't it make sense to have your chips cooked and ready for when you open??? Chips were horrible not worth the wait, had nicer oven chips. Never coming here again

Regular fish and chips . I got home and opened the box and was greeted with a fish finger and small portion of chips . If I wasn't hungry I'd have returned them. 10 /10 for taste. 1/10 for value

Went tonight Wednesday 19th January at 20.05 2 fish and 1 portion chips approx £13. The smallest fish I have ever had from any fish shop In my whole life. They must have run out of regular fish and gave me a O.A.P portion. Couldn't believe it when I got home. 1st time at this fish shop, don't think I'll be rushing there again. Wouldn't have gone there if my regular fish shop had been open. I took a photo as I wanted to put it on the review but it hasn't gave me the option to post a photo

Fabulous traditional fish and chips. Really great system for social distancing where you are given a vibrating tag on placing the order and can then wait outside or on a car until its triggered to collect. Info on where and who caught the fish is displayed. Lovely friendly staff too

Go every week more or less. Fabulous Fish and Chips be it Cod, Haddock, Plaice or Skate. Cooked to perfection.

Only tried them once. Ok but I thought that the regular fish was a bit small hence the 3 stars. Not cheap at £6.60

Really smooth, safe takeaway experience. Rang my order in & requested time, shouted in that i was there to collect & waited outside for them to get it ready, in no time at all it was bagged up & ready for me to pay. Food was hot & delicious. Great service.

Excellent fish and chips. They even tell you where the fish was caught and where the potatoes are from. Great service too.

First time visit. Lovely fish and chips. We Ordered a large portion to share like we do when we go to another fish shop in the area. Portion size was not what I expect when i order large. But love that they used cardboard and paper bags not plastic. Portion size was the only reason for not giving 5 stars

Moving here to Stockton from Yorkshire we were quite shocked at the drop in standard of fish and chips. Seemingly a couple of miles apart and there is a world of difference. This is the first place that we've been to around here that measures up to the high standards of Yorkshire fish and chips.

Away for the weekend and we fancied fish and chips, checked tripadvisor and Robinson’s fish and chips was close and had good reviews. Found them easily, and they weren’t too busy, all fish etc cooked to order. Had fish (Cod) and chips, chicken bites as they no longer do chicken portions due to lack of demand, mushy peas and curry sauce. Fish was excellent and chicken bites were large chunks of chicken breast in light batter. Very friendly staff. Would recommend.

Slightly dearer than many chippies but if you value quality over quantity this is well worth a visit. They also do small portions of chips which is great for older people and kids. You are told where your fish has been caught, locally (ish) excellent

This is the second time I have visited this fish & chip shop in the last 10 days even though I only live literally 10 minutes walk away. Simply fantastic fish & chips. Nice friendly service from the two ladies behind the counter and the nice pleasant guy frying (the owner?)The portions are good but the Cod & Chips are fantastic; even better than the Mighty Cod at Seaton Carew in my opinion!!!
