Durham Road Fish Bar in Stockton-on-Tees

My daughter and I had haggis and chips from here today and it was the best chip shop I’ve tried. It was absolutely delicious! We were served by a friendly young man with a cheery disposition. I hadn’t been here for some 6 years, but it remains to be the best chippy, in my opinion.

Probably the worst fish n chips ever, soggy fish, dry old chips, never again. Be warned if you want decent go to Robinson's at rimswell

This little chippy is a gem. The man behind the counter is always polite, the food is delicious and incredibly good value for money. I just wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

Well as I said great smell stopped me in my tracks. Asked for a litely battered cod & was given that along with my bread bun. Awkward for me getting in because of my wheelchair but the lady brought it to me Called a few times since & a very nice feeling it gives me. TRY IT

The food here is delicious. However we rang yesterday to check it was open New Year’s Eve and were told yes. Last orders 6.45 closed 7pm. We arrived early at 5.50 to be told they were closing! A gentleman behind us asked for an extra large haddock to raised eyebrows and a frown from the server! He said, I came in earlier to check you were open. Server responded with” we have been quiet all day!” Very disappointed that such lovely food was spoilt by the server. More disappointed for the people who came in after 6 pm hoping for a nice supper. Get your timings sorted and stick to them!

I visit my dad regularly from West Yorkshire. We usually have fish and chips during my visit. We have been again today and lovely as ever. The chap behind the counter is always friendly and the food is always really nice. Fish is thick, white and flaky just how we like them. Lovely. See you again next time

Only a little roadside shack, but excellent fish and chips, smaller than most garages. Clean, brightly lit and most of all yummy fish, chips could do with a bit more colour. Good value.

Absolute disgrace. Came here good Friday. Patties had no fish in them. Cooked in old oil. The icing on the cake was the curry sauce. Basically was cold water. We ended up binning it. More taste from a dog turd I should Imagine. Shame on you serving dung food

Most locals know this shop and regularly enjoy it. For anyone who hasn't tried it, must! Great variety of choice and taste.

Not that many chippies left in Stockton anymore, but this one is dead nice. Quite cheap, always nice grub.

He visitado este lugar varias veces y siempre he estado muy contento con la comida. El personal es extremadamente amable y servicial, lo que es raro para Stockton y comida fresca. Mi marido ha intentado el irlandés que era picante curry pero yo simplemente usas insulsa! El aparcamiento está justo fuera y nunca es demasiado concurrido. Yo diría que la única cosa que necesita mejorar son los signos. aquí Con apóstrofes cuando es plural no funciona.

I come here regularly and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, exceptionally good value for money and the recent renovation has made an already attractive shop into one of the nicest take aways in the area.
