Worst Indian food ever. No flavour, poor service, dark and dim no atmosphere at all. Most dishes full of sugar including the nan bread. This is more of a dessert Indian food restaurant.

My wife and I visited the restaurant for our anniversary on a friend's recommendation and were really delighted with both the service and food. We've been to a few restaurants in the area but Mohabir was outstanding - our tandoor chicken and prawn pathia were amazing and both had a lovely balance of spices. They were the best version of those dishes we've ever eaten. From the moment we opened the door to the restaurant we were made to feel very welcome - really attentive and friendly service without being overbearing. We picked up a takeaway menu and will definitely return. A perfect evening and lovely memory - thank you Mohabir!

The food is very good but the service let it down. The staff seemed very stressed and inattentive. We felt rushed and this made what should have been a nice meal out a stressful one. For me customer service is everything hence the two stars.

We have just enjoyed a fabulous takeaway meal from Mohabir. We made a mistake from ordering it originally via Uber Eats and the delivery driver incorrectly left us someone’s else’s order from a Chinese restaurant. Despite endless contact made with Uber, they have still not acknowledged the mistake. We contacted Mohabir to place a new order and they pulled out as of the stops to send us our meal. And it was gorgeous! Also much cheaper than ordering through Uber. Do not order through Uber Eats!

This used to be a great little restaurant. Sadly, they’ve now given over to the power of the takeaway so service and food is very poor and staff are more interested in answering the phone and packaging up for Uber drivers. I suspect this makes great business sense, but this is no longer a “restaurant”. Sad for us. Probably not for them. Village Indya over the road is a much better choice.

So my review is based on delivery take away only as I have not eaten from the venue yet. The food is always delicious you don't have to wait too long for delivery service and it is very well priced. Highly recommend the traditional dishes, delivery always comes with a smile and food is a good quantity and quality.

This is my go to takeaway restaurant. It’s a great price, quick service and they give you a discount for picking up the food. I’ve tried most things on the menu here over the years and none have been disappointing. Lots of lovely sweet notes in some of the lesser known curries on their menu so it is definitely worth branching out from your usual here, the murgh masala in particular is a really nice curry. When we were able to eat in I have always been happy with the service provided.

Food exceptionally underwhelming. Both the Karahi and Pathia lacked any depth of flavour, and the korma could quite easily have been served with apple pie. Entirely inauthentic and designed for people who have never had real Indian food. The mixed grill starter, usually a highlight, was equally poor. The sheekh kebab had the constituency and colour of something found in the back alley, and the lamb and chicken tikka were virtually indistinguishable from one another. The naan was clearly out of a packet (and not a good one either). For those who hate eaten her recently; you haven’t got covid, the food is just tasteless.

We have frequently enjoyed going to the Mohabir. The service always friendly and the food always excellent - authentic and beautifully cooked - the focus here is on the food without the need for fancy lighting, decor etc you see in other places to distract you from overpriced, uninspiring ‘signature’ dishes. The bring your own alcohol just adds to this - you really are paying for good food only. We ordered a takeaway from here last night and it was no disappointment - just as good as ever. The Paneer Tikka is amazing! My vegetarian son in law said that it is the best curry that he has ever eaten. Definitely ‘a dining experience worth talking about’ whether you eat in or at home. Highly recommend!

Fancied something different on a Sunday instead of a Roast dinner, so we decided to try The Mohabir.Booked a table with no problems for the 7 of us and it was an indian buffet style, starter, main and dessert. Even bring your own alcohol as they only sell soft drinks and to be honest the food was amazing, the starters which was a large variety selection of chicken wings, Somosas, spring rolls, salads and potato fritters were delicious and was seriously enough for the children. The main consisted of rice, potato saag, 2 different chicken curries and a lamb curry with vegetable curry and plain naan, absolutely delicious and very filling, so filling that I couldn’t actually stomach any dessert. Children had dessert of a selection of cakes with some custard and they were all happy. From the food, to the waiting staff and the politeness of everyone there is was definitely worth the money spent and loved the food. We will be visiting again very soon!!

I have been eating here for years, mainly take-away as I live nearby. The restaurant can get busy at weekends although they can normally squeeze you in. This is one of my favourite Indian restaurant in London. The lamb is always tender and lean. The Lamb Rogan and Dhanksak are rich with complex flavours. Prawn Pathia is also a favourite, not as spicy as some pathias but lots of flavour and the prawns are big and juicy. Unlike many Indian restaurants where many of the sources taste the same, the dishes here that I have eaten all taste individual. The overall quality is very consistent, as is portion size. A few years ago they changed the chief for about six months and I started going elsewhere but it has been back to its old self for a while.

Whether eating in or having a takeaway as regular customers we have never had a bad meal / experience over the last couple of years. Dishes are always very tasty and well presented, staff always very helpful, friendly and polite and prices very reasonable - you need to remember to take your own alcohol but this helps considerably of course in keeping the price down! If you like an Indian meal and live in IG8 or E!8 area and havent alrerady done so give it a try - I doubt you'll be disappointed!

Lived relatively locally for many years, passed by hundreds of times, never thought of going in until I read the reviews here and elsewhere. We decided to give it a try on a Sat eve. And now I'm going to spoil the party.Firstly, I will qualify this by saying they were manically busy. Completely full with people waiting, and tons of take-aways being turned out. I said it was both a good and a bad sign. Needless to say, we waited a time to order - the staff were absolutely flat out, and we'll assume their reported friendliness would resume when things were quieter.Food was grim. My puree was stodgy and flabby, the prawns in a brown looking sauce. Tasted better than it looked. His chicken tikka was dry and chewy and he left virtually all of it. No enquiry was made when it was taken away. He liked his paneer dhansak (I tasted and thought it incredibly sweet), my chicken tikka garlic chilli was again brown and very unappetising but (again) tasted slightly better than it looked. Cauliflower bhaji was so overcooked, it could have been eaten through a straw.Considering the BYO element, I didn't think it was overly cheap either. OK - they may have been struggling with the number of customers, but we won't be adding to their problem in future. Grand Trunk Road may be 3 x as expensive, but as it's 5 x as good, it looks like a bargain.

12 of us were booked into a different Indian down the road and we had arrived to discover it was shut. Well, it was Friday 13th. So we moved 200 metres north to the Mohabir. Not only were they willing to seat us, the service was excellent and the food prompt and spot-on. I was really pleased by them. It's BYO (and there's a Tesco metro just opposite) so a meal there with wine comes up relatively inexpensive, too. The Mohabir may look a little tired from the outside but it's definitely recommended.

Never have I once had a problem here but the person taking the phone calls on this night was rude and acted very inappropriately towards a very loyal customer. Absolutely awful, never again.
