Moghul Indian Restaurant in Fenland

We had not had a takeaway from Moja in absolute ages. The food was great! We even asked for extra mint sauce and they happily obliged. I will definitely go back again soon :)

The worst Indian restaurant I have eaten in. Poor service and terrible food. Like returning to the 1970’s. Drinks in awful thick pint glasses. Puri (in prawn puri) undercooked. Prawn korma did not have a single vegetable. We were rushed through our meal. Not offered a dessert or coffee but just had the bill brought to us. It was only 7.30pm and only one other couple in the restaurant!

Had another wonderful takeaway from Moja tonight. Chicken tikka shashlik bhuna. Moja really is the very best around.

Nice curry house although decor a little tired. Attentive friendly service, and pretty good food. The poppadoms were fresh with really nice pickle tray. The mixed starter was really nice although quite small. The lamb dhansak was quite fierce for a mild curry but very enjoyable and the nan, really nice. Not bad value. I would come here again.

Normally my favorite Indian restaurant but unfortunately this weeks meal was extremely poor by their standards. Onion bhajis were rock hard and over fried, chicken pakora was very chewy and tasted like it was made yesterday and reheated, portions were smaller than normal and quite cold. Spoke to 'Bobby' the chef who apologized and offered discount. Come on guys this was not up to you usual quality. Please sort out the problems or I will have to use a competitor in future.

Out and about on business and fancied a good old English dish… Curry it is then. So decided to try TGE MOJA. Visited on a Wednesday night however on Thursdays you can get Buffet style meal for £15 a head. Anyway I was a day early, restaurant was quiet to start with but did fill up with a few more people later. Environment ok clean and today with authentic music playing in the background. Staff were attentive and polite, first things first bottle of COBRA large £5 not bad, served cold great! Ordered chicken Pakora starter followed by Chicken Tikka minced Kema Lamb madras, kema rice and kema Nan. Food very tasty served piping hot, portion sizes ok. Just one comment from starter to main being served not at lot of time, maybe my fault as I didn’t ask for a break. Add another Cobra all in £36 … not that bad I suppose. All in all a reasonably good experience.

Lovely food but always check your bill .everytime I have been there is always extras added and they get angry for asking why extras been added.

Very nice meal. We ordered off menu, they surprised us and it was delicious - empty dishes we had took home as we could t eat it all, lovely lovely lovey - please try it! We also came on the hottest day of the year and they had the doors open and you know it was just like being abroad, a lovely venue? The service second to none! Amazing amazing amazing!

Had our first curry in Wisbech after being recommended by friends and we were not disappointed. Beautiful establishment, well lit and welcoming, clean and comfortable. Our curry was delicious, lots of different spices and well cooked. Just as good as any good curry you get in London. The staff are welcoming and we even met the chef who complemented popadoms to our takeaway. Thank you Moja we will be back in 2 weeks to celebrate my birthday in your fine restaurant and will be top of our takeaway list.

Never have I been disappointed with The Moja. Food is always spot on and staff are so welcoming and friendly! Whether you go to collect or eat In the restaurant it’s amazing either way! I would always recommend for a nice takeaway in or a meal out with some drinks.

We used to be regulars here but hadn't been for ages due to covid. Well, what a warm lovely welcome back! and the food was just as good as it ever was. So good to be back, and we wont leave it as long next time!

Having had previously good food we booked a sit down meal Saturday 13th November for 2. The restaurant was reasonably busy but the takeaway was heaving. In all it took nearly 3 hours to be served! Several tables walked out! some without paying for the drinks they had had. Even takeaway walk-ins left. those that had ordered on line had no choice but to wait as they had paid already. One guy waited a really long time and then returned with his takeaway after driving 7 miles home as it was the wrong one! The table next to us had waited two hours and had only been served popadoms, they walked out. When our meal finally arrived it was wrong and missing a keema naan! We was offered several drinks while we waited patiently and joked with everyone about the lack of food coming out of the kitchen. I genuinely thought these would be on the house. When presented with a bill for £70! (£5 for a coke) I was a little angry. The owner settled for £60 and a free lager for my husband. Sadly we will not be returning to The Moja again until they sort out their internet ordering system as apparently they have no control over what comes through on it. It is so sad when you are made to feel less important than a bundle of internet takeaways. They did at least stop answering the phone but probably not really in time to help stop the complete chaos

I took my brother and his other half to Moja after a cinema visit, it was amazing, the food was really first class, the portion sizes are perfect and we all left happy.

Curry was nice but for me the portions were a little small. Nice decor and ambience. Tikka Masala was tasty and Peshwari Naan was very fresh and tasty.

We travel to Wisbech from Kent once or twice a year. We always end up having a curry at this venue. The food is very good and the service was excellent. Lovely ambiance and highly recommend you try it.

Fantastic meal severed by the ever friendly waiters in the Moja restaurant. Moghul always looks after us and Bobby makes sure we always eats amazing food.

We've just returned from this restaurant after a lovely meal (we ordered too much as usual but will be having left overs for breakfast!) we found the staff very friendly and accommodating and food portions were a good size. We will be back!!

I went there for having food and the waiter were very rude they were brothers and owners.they always shouting each other and do bad behave with staff.

We went into the restaurant as it opened at 5.30pm.We were welcomed and asked what drink we wanted .We said a pint of lager.Instead we were given Cobra which is expensive at £5 a bottle.It took a time to come and take our order for food but the food made up for this.The king prawn with spinach was lovely as was my prawn malayan.My only gripe is that noone asked if we wanted another drink or a coffee.They seem to seve you and leave you.

Been going for 5 years now almost weekly never had a bad meal always friendly and excellent food with good service it may help to be a regular they really do look after us, almost every week we get an extra dish, excellent!!

Visited for a quick dinner on Sat night. Service is okay sometimes a bit blunt. My review is based on my biryani which lacked a bit of flavour/spice for a tikka dish, however my wife had a korma which was very tasty, really creamy and wish I had chosen that. Pretty good value for food. Interior could do with an update.

The moghul has closed down and reopened under a different name. Same owners and similar menu but beware as the prices seem to vary for the same meal.

Very tasty Indian but probably not the best Indian in Wisbech but certainly worth a visit! I would recommend booking as it gets quite full at weekends

Haven't been to the restaurant for about 6 years as don't live nearby, and went for a special occasion. The food was absolutely excellent, the place was buzzing and so lovely to see familiar faces of the staff there. We shall absolutely not leave it so long next time.

The mogul is set back in Wisbech old market place and out of the way. It is nice in side just a large room set with tables and has quiet music. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is normal English/Indian and there is a wide choice. The price is good and the portion size better than average.

Was taken here by friends who spoke highly of it. The staff welcomed us and were attentive throughout. The food was good with not too long a wait for the six of us.This is a clean, comfortable restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. I will visit again

After sampling two other tandoori restaurants in Wisbech this week. The mogul was by far the best. Service was good and not rushed through the courses. Quality of food was good and portions were good. It was exceptionally clean. The only downside was I prefer a draft lager. There is no draft lagers only bottles ( but large 660 bottles) at reasonable price. I recommend it

We decided to go here for food one Sunday evening (normally heading across the river to the other establishment) and I am so glad we did. We just turned up and were greeted and guided to a table very quickly. Drinks were quick to arrive.

There is no doubt that in the Wisbech area of the Fens the Moghul provides the best in Indian cuisine. The whole team work to serve, and provide all requests quickly. Clean, and even the loos were very unusual, in that they are always immaculate.

Very poor. Could not handle a group more than 4. 7 of us booked. Food took an age to arrive then it was cold. They mixed all the orders up and would not listen to what we were asking them. Drinks order wrong. No ice got ice. Service miserable. Very sarcastic and patronising. Tried to take the tablecloth away while 1 member of our party was still eating. Took away drinks that were not finished. Very poor. In fact rubbish. Given 1 star because you can't give none

Visited early September on a Saturday night. The restaurant was fairly busy, but we were shown to a nice table...

We phoned up yesterday to book a table for two for the Sunday lunch buffet. The person we spoke to said it was no problem. We turned up today to be told that the Sunday buffet wasn’t on and were offered a banquet menu for £4 per head more than the advertised buffet (limited rather than all you can eat). Disappointed and tempted to leave and go to another nearby Indian restaurant, we bit our tongues and stuck with it.

Looking for somewhere to eat after a walk by the is of the river and a couple of drinks, we nearly missed this, we just saw a flashing neon sign, we hummed and arr'd but decided to go in, it looked nothing from the outside really, but it was lovely, clean and very friendly and the food was delicious and very reasonable.

This curry is consistently the best in the area service is friendly and the chicken jal ferazi with tandoori chicken is the best I've had. The decor is not the best but the food is very good. Have taken many friends here who have all lived it too. Would definitely recommend.

All adverts and posters outside the restaurant indicated a Sunday special but once inside we were told that the price is near double. Made the decision to stay despite the uncertainty as to what was available and at what price. We found the service quite poor, to be fair near rude. However the food was spectacular, seriously good well favoured and portion size generous. Pity the front staff do not match the excellence of the chef.

Recommended by local taxi driver. The service is great and the menus are very good. I recommend the Mogul special and the chicken garlic chilli and hope the other offers are equally as good. The prices are good as well.

We chose this restaurant after my partner had read lots of positive reviews on Trip Advisor. I wonder if we arrived at the wrong location, as the food was distinctly average -bland, lacking spices not freshly cooked and really nothing special at all.The service was fairly non-existent - no eye contact at all, and the staff appearing to just going through the motions.There were quite a few people eating, so clearly others quite like it here, but personally on this evening, I cannot see what it was.

We were greeted by very friendly staff on entering the restaurant. There was such a great selection on the menu it was hard to choose, but when our choices arrived, we were not disappointed it was delicious. We were so full that we couldn't even think about dessert.Thoroughly recommend Moghul and will definately return.

The Sunday Buffett had three dishes some dry nan bread and one rice, poppadum's were brought without asking like they always do then they charge you for them on the bill

Went there Saturday 11 March with visiting family not knowing what to expect but following a very good takeaway a few weeks previously.We were certainly not disappointed with both the quality of food and service. The many various dishes ordered were superb in all respects as echoed by our family. It was so good we're hoping to return next week.

Waitor was attentive and very helpful with explaining some of the dishes and was able to make recommendations and the chef kindly made me a bespoke main course.

I went to this restaurant with a bit of trepidation, I need not have worried, the food was amazing, the Rashami kabab stater was amazing and my Chilli Garlic Lamb was immense! The service was excellent too!

Used to visit at this restaurant many years ago but moved out of the area and had not visited for a long while. So we were a little apprehensive given some recent negative comments. We did not even know if the restaurant was still owned by the same people. But my son wanted to go for a special birthday treat.We need not have worried. We were recognized straight away and most of the staff remained unchanged. Importantly the chef was the same person . We ordered similar dishes to the ones we used to enjoy 20 years ago. Service was prompt and the food mouth watering , mopping all the sauces up with nan bread.What a treat , we will be making sure that we go the extra mile in future months to travel over to Wisbech. You would have to go a long way to beat this curry, well worth the effort and as far as I am concerned did not consider it overpriced as one recent reviewer commented. You get what you pay for.

This is our second visit today, our last being a couple of Sunday's ago. On both occasions we have left feeling over charged? We reflected on this after and not at the time , so too late to raise an issue! Tonight's food was good but the service was poor, only the one waiter but he was on the phone constantly even whilst serving people and we were not the only diners that commented on this, he gave the impression that he really did not want to be there. Sad to say we gave them 2 goes but not for us. P.s please refrain from playing I'm a barbie girl!

Visiting friends is lovely, you always get to see the 'best' as known by the locals. The Mogul is one such 'best'. We manage this little trek every six months or so, and the group attending seems to grow each visit -this time there were 14 of us. Being known as regulars obviously has advantages (in service?) but the quality of service has never wavered. It delivers simple Indian food but cooked by a jolly good 'chef' & is absolutely superb. We have all always enjoyed our visit, especially the food, which incidentally is very good value. Back again in another 6 months no doubt.

Was tempted in by the good reviews. Visited on a slow wet Tuesday night. Met with many disappointments. Poppadoms cooked in old smelly oil. Uninspiring sauces. Hard to find the tiny prawns in my partners so called ' King Prawn ' Biryani. £10.95. A poor dish and a rip off. Dreadful decor and random Bon Jovi songs mixed with the usual curry house sitar songs. My Garlic Chilli Chicken was much tastier than the Biryani and at £5.95 it was way better value.But at least they were open. Everyone else in Wisbech is shut by 9PM. Perhaps we caught them on a quiet off night. We were the only customers before the end of our meal, and I wasn't greatly surprised.

Visited this restaurant for the second time last weekend. It wasn't as busy this time which meant the service was quicker . It does seem that you wait a bit for the first course but once you have that the other dishes arrive in good time. The most impressive part is the quality of the food , it is very tasty . Everyone we have been with on both occasions have enjoyed their meals and all want to return , which is the best endorsement of all . We normally have two courses with bread , beer and wine and the bill averages £25 per head , good value for the quality of food . Would happily recommend this restaurant. If you park in the yard opposite the restaurant take care when entering , there is quite a drop off from the concrete to the parking area , I came down hard on the underside of my car , fortunately no damage ( I hope ) .

9 of us went out for meal service was bit erratic here and there but staff where attentive. Quality of food was good and all meals came out hot. All of us left restaurant with no room for coffee or puddings.Bill wasn't to bad either for what we had and drank.Returning visit at somepoint will be happening.

The staff are very friendly. Decor welcoming. Food very good. Service good. I'm not sure if there is any other entrance but there are a few steps down when you get inside the door.

Top banana! Superb food, service and staff.I left a scarf on one visit, went back 4 months later and was reunited with it.Can work out a little expensive, but because of the food quality, it is well worth the extra.Always recognised by staff and made welcome whoever you are ... as I started my review ... top banana!!! ☺

Our group ate here on a Thursday, not knowing that this was their buffet night when you could have any starter, main course, rice, side dish and naan for £10.95. Unsurprisingly the place was packed and service was slow. The people were friendly and welcoming but we didn't understand why they took the order for our starters and then went away, not to return for some time. When we did eventually order our main courses we were told that some dishes would take half an hour to prepare so were put off from ordering them. Little did we know that ALL dishes took longer than this and we waited a very long time indeed for our main courses. We got the distinct feeling that they wanted us to order loads of poppadums, which we didn't, and loads of drinks, which we did.The food was very acceptable when it arrived, although it didn't seem to be anything very out of the ordinary. A local taxi driver had told us that this was the best Indian restaurant in Wisbech by a mile, so we had taken his advice. We probably would have felt rather better about it if the service had been a bit quicker. It was fine. And probably the best in Wisbech.

Nice food shame about the cockroach. . I had just finished paying the bill when my mum pointed out an insect climbing the wall next to me. It was a cockroach. The manager said a lot of insects come inside this time is year and it was as a flying ant...... I know what a flying ant looks like. ...... I'm not gonna say the food is ba d because it's not but I hope that it gets its pest problem sorted.

My partner and I visited this restaurant on the basis of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. I'm sad to say that we were very disappointed and didn't have the same positive experience as some other guests. We weren't made to feel welcome at the restaurant and the food was very bland. We ordered the bhuna and balti as our main courses along with a couple of side dishes. All the meals were very lowly spiced and also arrived at the table luke warm.The worst was yet to come though as when we requested the bill it had a number of pricing errors in it. The balti had been overcharged compared to the menu, we were charged for more poppadoms than we had, and the drinks bill was overcharged. I don't understand how these errors with the food and the bill took place as the restaurant was not busy on an early Sunday evening. Overall a disappointing meal - and please be careful to check the accuracy of your bills!

My family and i have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. The food and the service are top quality and would recomend it to anyone.

On our tour we met up with a group of friends who regularly eat at this Indian eatery. They aren't wrong. The service could not be bettered, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient at their tasks. A very comprehensive menu with guidance from the waiter if required. The food is truly excellent, hot and tasty. Portions should satisfy everyone except the most starving. A pleasant atmosphere in a mid range establishment; hidden from all but those who know its existence.

Lovely, lovely place. The owner and his staff are so polite and helpful. The food is excellent. I've been to India, Indian is my favourite cuisine, and I don't often think places here live up to the food you can get in India. But this place does. Huge, huge range, they have their own in house curries, and a selection you don't see in mainstream places. It's always clean, it's always warm and I always eat too much.
