An ideal place to grab a delicious coffee at the harbour in amble. Great to carry on and enjoy a walk around the pier.

My husband had a mocha from here on New Year's Day, he said it was worth the wait with the queue. They were very friendly "even if they couldn't see you with the sun shining directly at them!"

Found Mocha Mondo while staying in Amble. Friendly service, fantastic coffee in a lovely harbour setting. If the sun is out, ideal to sit overlooking the harbour. Good value too. I bought some ground coffee to take home and it didn't disappoint.

This is in a small 'village' of pods on the harbourside. As well as serving coffee they sell a range of coffees

Difficult to believe they produce great coffee from such a tiny wooden shed on the quayside at Amble, but we were glad to have found it. There are plenty of options in the Harbour Village but I can’t imagine they would match this. There is of course nowhere to sit, but there are benches nearby where you can enjoy your coffee.

We grabbed a take-away from this speciality coffee shop, sat on a nearby bench overlooking the harbour, and watched the world go by. The coffee was very good – one can never be sure in popular places. We’d certainly enjoy another cup on any next visit.

We visited for coffee earlier this week, the lady who served us was charming and the coffee the best we’d tasted in ages.

The coffee was great, but the guy serving perhaps needs a course in customer relations? I know it’s a weird time with COVID and masks etc, but I’d expect a ‘hello’ at the very least. I then obviously upset him even more by asking for a dirty chai. Perhaps I’m so used to us all being friendly in the North of England it really stands out when people aren’t (or perhaps it was the fact that I don’t sound like a local?!) Anyway, can’t fault the coffee, and pleased to see biodegradable cups.

My daughter & I had lunch at the Sea & Soil and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee served there. I enquired where it was sourced from and was pleasantly surprised to know that it could be bought from a small "pod" very near in the harbour. We bought 3 x 228 gr. packs of the Mocha Mondo Gold (Colombian) which we had enjoyed in the restaurant. I have almost finished the first pack, which is excellent. Having checked their website they also have a range of chocolates and a large selection of other coffees - I am sure that I will be sampling the full range :-) They also deliver if you are not local. Highly recommended !!!

This coffee shop is great, the site is lovely and the scenery is amazing. They also produce an excellent espresso from their Amble shop. The bagged kilo of coffee is the only real downfall. They have slightly over-roasted the coffee. The coffee's natural sweetness is lacking in comparison with other roasters from the North East. Whilst I would certainly rate them as up there for the Northumberland region they are pipped to the post by Ouseburn, Pumpherys and Colour coffee in Newcastle. My suggestion, they should reduce the roasting of some of the coffees, but not by much.

By far the best cup of coffee in Amble. Sit at one of the tables outside and watch the tide and time pass as you enjoy your favourite variety.

Lovely local establishment selling mainly just coffee. What we loved - the seating, the option of oat milk, the biodegradable cup and the locally roasted coffee.

I love my coffee and I can honestly say that this was one of the best tasting Lattes that I have ever had. Very friendly service in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit. I will be returning to Amble soon just for the coffee :)

This looked a great little pod - they had put some tables and chairs out and read great reviews. Order taken - quite expensive - and assistant is straight after the cash before the beans had even been loaded! Served in fully compostable cups - but no facility to re-cycle them - surely a bin could be provided? Coffee was OK but it was weak and certainly not hot. Would not bother again. Minus 1 point in rating for no re-cycling facility.

Had a lovely cup of coffee with a great view of the harbour, pondering how the gulls had spaced themselves on the railings. The owners roast and source all their coffee, including several that are ethically farmed and run by co-operatives. Will definitely come back and bought some beans to grind at home.

The problem with a small coffee booth like this is that as everything is made to order you can have to wait some time to be served. That said, when it came the coffee was excellent and we enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by. I'd have preferred to have a wider choice of milk as they only had semi-skimmed.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
