We had been wanting to visit moka jaks for a while and finally got the chance. You wouldn't actually know it was there, because there's no signs on the main road, only a tiny little sign at the entrance gate which is barely visible as it's at a sharp angle, so you wouldn't notice it from the opposite side of the road, so you only know if you know..... There is a fairly big carpark but it was very busy as it was the weekend. We got to the door and there was a small que, when it came to our turn, there was no acknowledgement from staff and we waited for about 10 mins before we got any acknowledgement, other people were getting served before us? Service was definitely chaotic and seemed very unorganised! We finally got seated and waited about 10 mins for our food but we were given soups which we didn't order, however the rest of the food was very good. It is dog friendly and even have a dog menu but its very cramped inside especially on a busy day there is seating outside. We would like to try it again but probably avoid the weekend!

It's a dog friendly, coffee/other soft drinks and cake place. Yes they serve other things like basic mains of soup, baked potatoes sandwiches etc but the cakes are stunning. Enjoy

What a great find. Staying locally and wanted something independent and with great local produce, and this is the place! Really lovely Ploughmans lunches and others in the party had Scottish breakfasts. All were tasty, good portions and service was really friendly and quick. There was a great range of home-baked treats too with some local varieties too, and I am unable to confirm local reports that several were sampled afterwards!! Honeymoon Slice anyone?

Lovely place to catch up with friends for a coffee/cakes. And also family breakfasts etc. Choice of cakes are amazing and all homemade. Coffee really good. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Also the decor is stunning too. Recommended highly.

Been a few times in the past but will not be returning. On my final visit I failed to see the sign asking customers to wait at the door to be seated and took a seat in the coffee shop. I hold my hands up and admit I made a mistake, failing to see the sign. However a member of staff came to the table and her manner was absolutely disgusting, resulting in 3 customers walking out and vowing we will not be returning. My genuine mistake was pointed out to me in a rude, abrupt and unfriendly manner which was not provoked in anyway on our part and did not involve an argument as we simply walked out. I had no problem with what the staff member was saying but it was the way it was said. May I suggest some staff training in customer service and manners.

I recently ordered afternoon tea, everything was very fresh, but we were very disappointed as everything was tasteless and only 2 diffrent fillings in the sandwiches. This was for a special occasion but as i said very disappointed. I wont use Mocha Jaks again

As a surprise my daughter ordered an afternoon tea to be delivered to her gran early in lockdown. It was really lovely and I ordered from them myself this week. I went for 2 x celebration afternoon teas and everything was perfect. I collected them and they were ready and waiting for me at the appointed time 👍. I also had coffee and breakfast while I was there. Delicious food and spotlessly clean. Terrific all round!

Lovely wee coffee shop with delicious home baking. We had a super lunch of panini and toasties we both chose the Brie, bacon and cranberry filling but there were a good few to choose from. A great wee side salad garnish and some crisps and coleslaw was a great accompaniment. They always have some delicious homemade soup on the specials board but the cakes won us over!! I had a really tasty banana and chocolate loaf cake which was sugar free... and scrummy to boot!!! All of their baking is available to order as a slab and they also do afternoon tea hampers to take away with you... a great gift for someone. The girls who run the place are very friendly and welcoming. We will certainly be back. Good to note that they have all of their food available as takeaway versions as well.

Table booked on 24/12/2019 for 9 people to have lunch on 5th Jan 2019. We were told when ordering our drinks that they had only one can of diet coke!! Bad start. One hour after our arrival no food had been brought to the table. Eventually starters were served. Food average. When we asked for salad cream for a salad it was to be told that they didn't have any! I ordered fish and chips and was told they didn't have any fish ' only scampi. Attitude to customers was take it or leave it! I felt they had let us down and Dalry down. We will not go back there again.

For a start, I don’t understand why a commercial building built in the late 90’s doesn’t have a lift given my guess of the average age of their clientele. We went for tea and a scone with my mum who is recovering from getting a new knee. We were told that we could have a table in the foyer cos the restaurant wasn’t accessible. They then changed their mind and told us that we couldn’t order a tea and a scone because there was already 6 people in their restaurant and it would be at least 30 minutes before they could put in a new order. There were 4 people in the empty shop, two in the foyer and presumably numerous staff in the cafe. Between them they couldn’t get us a tea and a scone. We won’t be back.

Great food and fantastic friendly service in an idyllic location. My brother and I, had the Bagel Stack for a breakfast, great start to a holiday in Largs.
