Went with friends to sample the Caribbean menu, but wish I hadn't. Three of us tried the goat curry & rice & peas. It was the most tasteless goat curry, I have ever eaten & the same for the rice, which was just a tasteless bowl of stodge. Service was efficient but staff were miserable & the lead waitress spoke down to staff in front of the customers. When she asked how our meal was & I said poor, showing her the rice. She responded by telling me me that's what rice & peas should look like 🤦♀️. I was bought up on rice & peas, so know it shouldn't. She did offer to change the meal but it was too late at this point. A very poor Saturday night experience that I wouldn't return to. Ladies toilet facilities left a lot to be desired. A very disappointing dining experience & I definitely wouldn't

Dreadful service and poor food. We’ve tried The George twice now since the new owners, but the food was abysmal, and the service staff moaned about how busy they were.

Ordered Sunday roast ..beef for me..Turkey for hubby. Veggies very al dented if you like that. Hubby's lunch came without any gravy. Asked for some and got a jug of cold gravy. Asked about cauliflower cheese and was told it came as standard....we we asked where it was we were then told they didn't do it anymore due to wasteage????. Very disappointing meal.

Good food. I had the sea bass and it was a decent size . My husband had tuna which he enjoyed. Good service . Value for money too . Didn’t have to wait too long for our food. Good view of the bay

Average food. Only one attentive member of staff in the establishment. Went to use the facilities only to find that there was no toilet paper in any of the cubicles. This was reported to a member of staff who then disappeared. I then stood outside the toilet like an absolute idiot for 10mins while the members of staff ran around trying to find out where the toilet paper was stored so that they could replace it. The place was empty and when you asked any junior member of staff a question, they had absolutely no idea what the answer was. They clearly hadn’t been briefed on the establishment at all. Disappointing.

This review is about The George, Mumbles & not MK@The George, which is now under new ownership. We ate there last night & the food was very good, however the service was not. We waited 35 minutes for our drinks order to be taken & a further 25 minutes for our food order to be taken. And only then because we stopped a member of staff & asked for them to take the order. As a new venture in Mumbles, it's fairly evident they need extra staff & quickly.

Went here for Sunday lunch. you do need to have the 2 or 3 course lunch so make sure you go on an empty stomach as you get alot of food..🙂... The meal was lovely and the beef was cooked to perfection. Will be going back on a different day to try some fish dishes. Staff were lovely..and overall a lovely place to lunch. 😊

Booked for birthday dinner for two. (1st October). We are Mumbles residents and try to support local independent businesses. After being seated, we were given menu by short haired blonde lady. Was surprised there was no fish choice. When the bar person came to take drinks order, we mentioned this and she said was was a fish choice and gave us the fish menu. Ordered food, and very good it was. The original lady asked us about dessert, we said yes, and she left us a menu. Unfortunately it was the starters and main menu again. She did not come back to us for about 30 minutes, even serving the table next to us, and avoiding eye contact. We informed her that we have run out of time for dessert because of the extra wait to now look at dessert menu, order dessert and wait for it to arrive. To which she stated, it's not her fault, she is up and down stairs serving orders. I didn't realise it was the customers fault on the layout of restaurants. I asked for bill and that was a long time in coming. On reading some other reviews, there seems to be a common denominator, I'll let you decide. If offered a £50 voucher to go back, no I would not take up the offer. That affair spoilt the evening. Michael K at the George, sort out your front of house.

My partner and his family visited in November. We were made to feel very welcome. Great ales on tap. We were lucky enough for them to let us eat a takeaway in there as the restaurant we planned to go to had double booked which was very kind of them. We had a great night and was so privileged to hear Hermione the bar manager sing in a cappella an Irish folk tune. Wow we couldn't hear a pin drop when she sang. It literally took my breath away. Definitely recommend this place and we will definitely revisit .

I have waited several weeks before writing this. I rarely post negative reviews, particularly not for small independent venues. But the price of 2 pieces of cheese on toast costing £10.95 is still irritating me. I didn’t look at the bill until sitting back down and my bank account flashed up the amount. I went back to the counter and asked if this was correct. Then to add insult to injury, we had nearly finished our coffees and my wife went to the counter to check where the cheese on toast was. No apology from the staff, and they said it was waiting in the kitchen as they couldn’t remember what table ordered it. You would expect sour dough bread or some, artisan crafted speciality bread and a fine local Welsh mature cheddar for this price. What we received was big standard supermarket sliced brown bread and a meagre layer of big standard supermarket cheese, that barely covered the cardboard toast. It was now barely tepid and ranks as the worst and most expensive cheese on toast we have ever had. Our cake was good but I overpriced, and the coffee was OK, but no where near as good as numerous other coffee shops in Swansea. Positives are: venue is nice and clean, staff friendly but somewhat dopey. It’s a shame they demolished my old school Ty-Coch. I am sure the catering ladies would have done a better job

As a paying visitor, me and my friends were disrespected and humiliated in front of other paying visitors. Dave Jones the captain came over to us and started questioning our clothes even though I have had no issues at every other golf club in Swansea. Also, there were people dressed in clothes a lot worse than ours but he did not bat an eye lid just because we were juniors. I was considering getting a membership but after the disrespect I received I will not be returning to this golf club.

Called in for a coffee, but had to have a cake too as they all looked fab… and it was.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with my husband. The most delicious Welsh pork belly! The cheeseboard was also lovely. Would recommend visiting this lovely pub.
