Mix'd Cafe Bar Leicester in Leicester

Held my daughters 8th Birthday party here today, what a success! Kids had so much fun with indoor bouncy castle & children’s entertainers, face paining etc... parents enjoyed, relaxed, good drinks, good company. Staff are brilliant, very accommodating and always smiling- they couldn’t do enough for the children. The management are fab, allowing me to bring in a mobile pizza stall, happy kids, happy parents... thank you team Mix’d! My daughter is beaming, you made her day super special x

The whole venue was booked for a private party. Myself and five friends booked a VIP booth for £240 as it was a friends birthday. In that price we get our own table, a bottle of champagne, a bottle of brandy and a cocktail jug.We walked in and were immediately met by three hostile and aggressive security staff, after giving our names and tickets we were each patted down and searched by the staff. One of our friends was told they weren't allowed in because their name wasn't on the guest-list, despite having a ticket, paid for in advance. After some negotiation with the miserable manager's, he was allowed in.This whole process took around 20 minutes.We then found our table and sat down. Despite having paid £240, they didn't include a soft drink to mix our bottle of brandy with, which is quite unreasonable. So we bought a jug of coke from the bar, upon drinking this coke, it had no flavour and tasted like fizzy water. On the table there were no tissues and we were given flimsy plastic cups for our drinks, which is unusual for VIP bookings. The glass collectors weren't doing rounds frequent enough.The toilets were a mess and a slipping hazard. There was no staff to maintain them throughout the night.The staff were miserable, especially the owners. Apart from one girl and one guy on the bar who actually smiled when serving us.The venue is alright, in terms of appearance, but apart from that. Everything else was dreadful. I'm not one to write reviews but feel that I had to this time and I don't want others to feel let down and cheated as we do . Overall it was a bad experience, we still managed to have a good night as we were there to celebrate our friends birthday but this is by far the worst experience we have had in a venue and never before have we met such hostile and miserable staff in a venue. I can assure that we are not a rowdy group and didn't do anything to provoke them into being this way with us.I for one, will never be going to this place again.

Really liked this bar! The bar staff were very friendly, they were recommending what drinks we should have next and make sure you try the cocktails here as they are very nice!!! There is a great atmosphere in Mix'd at night and I should also mention that there is outdoor seating which is great if you need some fresh air. I would definitely recommend Mix'd if you're looking to go to a chilled out place where staff provide great customer service and excellent cocktails.

Mix'd Bar is Leicester's newest and upcoming venue for a great Friday or Saturday night out. The Venue its self very modern looking, sleek and classy. The Staff is tremendous and provide amazing customer service. I highly recommend Mix'd for throwing private parties very spacious upstairs with great music. Very clean as well place is virtually spotless the bar manager has done an excellent job with the place.

I absolutely love this place!! Everything is nice and new from inside, its spacious and the lighting is very pleasing to the eye. It has a very warm, welcoming atmosphere with nice quotes hung on the wall. It is a great place to chill out. I love the pool table area, and the bean bags. I like to sit on them and drink a nice hot coffee they also have heaters provided downstairs to keep you warm. The food does take about 20 minutes to cook, however when it arrived it was perfectly cooked, and presented very well. I really liked the metal things that they put chips in on the plate. Very nice!! The cocktails are amazing! The best one I have tried there is called Cherry Cola which was recommended to me by the manager Thandi, he is super fast on the bar and always leave us girls with a smile on our faces! The staff are very friendly, it's nice as they actually talk to you whereas a lot of other places you don't really get that. At night the venue turns into a bar. The lights get dimmed and it has that nice classy feel to it. A lot nicer than majority of bars and pubs I have been to in Leicester. It plays good music and drinks are very cheap e.g Monday nights £1 vodka mixer!! The deals on cocktails during the day are great too. This place is my number 1 hang out place in Leicester, It has everything you need if your looking for a warm welcoming atmosphere away from drunks and the rowdy crowd. Would definitely recommend going here. Leicester definitely needs more bars like Mix'd.

there were a group of us who went for a dinner 25th November, 10 to be exact we were the only ones there.. We arrived about 12.30, as arranged. There was only the bar man there, then when we tried to order our meals, it was very chaotic. One of us, went off after waiting for over 20mins. The rest of us ordered. Then at least three quarters of an hour later two of us were told that we could not have our orders as they had run out of shepherds pie and cheese pie. Did we want pizza or chips? NO. It was the worst dinner I never had. I wouldn't care but the dinners my friends had were cold in the centre. One had pizza and chilli chips, had to "balls up" No way will I go there again. We are all off for an indian next time

I regularly visit Mix'd with work friends based not too far from the bar. The staff are always welcoming and warm with their greetings. The bar is always spotless and the music is always of a good choice. The food is superb and the standard never drops when we visit. One of my favourites!

I bought a Groupon for a two course meal and a drink for four people at Mix'd. The excellent service started even before we arrived when Andy was hugely helpful and accommodating when redeeming the code. When we actually got there, we were all really pleasantly surprised as we hadn't been there previously. The bar was really clean and modern, the food was excellent and the fabulous service continued... We ended up staying there all afternoon, and had a really great afternoon. I'll definitely be back! We ordered the Cajun chicken burger, the chicken was lovely and spicy, the bread was good. It came with a basket of chips, which were beautiful and hot, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, also came with coleslaw and salad. Very good value. Great cocktails too.

Highly recommend the spicy cajun chicken burger, It's cheap but nicely presented and tastes good. Staff are great and we will definitely be back soon. Apparently under new management. Have to say great music but I'm glad the volumes been turned down a bit since previous visit (it was lunch time.)

We went as a family of six for a meal and everything we ordered came really fresh, extremely well presented and nice and hot, everything was really tasty including the cocktails we ordered, we found all the staff really helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the atmosphere was brill and they are also child friendly, really made us feel special, we will definitely visit them again soon and best of all they serve food from 12-8pm everyday, excellent value for money !!!

We hired the whole venue for an engagent ceremony months in advance, a week before the event they decided they didn't want to go ahead with the event because they didn't want us to have Indian food at the location (excuse was they didn't want children to drop the food) which had already been agreed months in advance, they then decided we could use the venue but now we were only allowed to hire the 1st floor, They also decided they could triple our hire cost! In the end we had to pull the event and find another venue days before the engagement.. We had to re contact all of our 250 guests and notify them of the change in location. They are horrible disrespectful people that do not care about anyone but themselves! do not trust then at all... EVIL HUMAN BEINGS!!!

Four of us went on a groupon offer, the staff were very pleasant and although there was a wait for the food when it came it was worth the wait. We were not in a hurry anyway and spent an enjoyable time in the relaxed atmosphere of this bar.

We visited on a Wednesday evening last week. We were initially the only people there, despite this service was so slow. Food when it finally arrived was also of poor quality. We've had a better burger in McDonalds! There are certainly much better places to go in Leicester and we wouldn't bother going here again.

I am regular customer as I personally know the management and although the food is fantastic the service is s**t....today on the 20th June we are faced with loud unnecassary NOISE from some u usual drummers which makes.no sense and I even asked the groupon customers sitting in booths their thoughts and they advised they were not advised the drummers would be present today..overall food is really nice but service is....well what service you get more treatment on the NHS!!

I have visited Mix'd Cafe Bar on a number of occasions over the last 3 months, mainly for working lunches and as a stop off for a drink, and on every visit have found the venue to be well presented and staff to be courteous and helpful. Food is of a good standard and my particular favourite is the TexMex platter which is full of yummy nibbles!

We arrived at 6.15 with our menu orders ready, as we were told that the Chef finishes at 7, on arrival, we told the gentleman who greeted us that he can take the order from us whilst we wait for the remaining party to come, we knew what they wanted. We were told it will be fine and its ok to wait for the others whilst giving us a confused look. We ordered our cocktails, our 2 cocktails arrived almost half an hour late!!! Once the group were all together, the waiter came over to take the order 25 minutes later! When the food order was being communicated over, the waiter was distracted on 3 occasions dues to his ear piece comms, he walked off on us and came back 3 times, causing more delays!! Mains to arrive at just after 8pm which was very poor. Fajitas were cold, they were straight out a packet, cold and hard - what was the chef thinking? We ordered x2 vegetarian dishes and we were given non-vegetarian food another let down. I certainly would not serve this standard of food at home and certainly do not expect it when dining out. We decided to speak to the Manager/Owner but received attitude, no acknowledgment and no sense of customer service that would help the situ, in fact it was really sad to see the lack of empathy we received and we decided to leave! The venue is nice, comfortable and cosy, unfortunately that’s not the same review I would give for the staff who served us, they certainly fall short of almost everything, no sense of timing, no sense of communication skills, poor organisation, bad manners and lack of good customer services!

My friends and I bought a group on deal for 2 courses and a cocktail each. We arrived on Saturday 17th at 6.15pm and had already rang to say we were running late so arrived with our food orders to save time for the chef and also so we wouldn't be waiting too long. They didn't want to take the orders yet. We were shown to our table and the manager came to take our drinks order which we gave and ended up waiting 30mins for 3 cocktails. Considering there were only 4 people in the place and it was empty that was really poor. When the manager came to take our food order almost 25mins later, he was not paying attention and walked off three times to take a call on his earpiece which we knew was a disaster waiting to happen. 45mins later food arrives cold and 2 dishes were wrong. The manager didn't even apologise or show any sign of caring so we ended up walking out of the place hungry at 8pm and having to look for somewhere else to eat. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. They clearly have no idea about customer service. I have demanded my money back from groupon.

Me and my friends went there yesterday. We had the worst experience ever.. 40 minutes to make 3 cocktails, almost 3 hours for our evening meal and two of the meals were wrong. The waiter could do with some commutation skills no eye contact and he walk off about 3times whilst trying to take our order. I would never go there again...

Went here on a Groupon yesterday lunchtime. We were the only 2 customers I the whole place & yet the service was appallingly slow. They'd ran out of some of the food items and had no wine. Apparently because they'd had 400 people in the day before for food - hard to imagine when on a Friday lunch the place was empty.The food was dreadful. The bacon on the New Yorker wasn't cooked, the cheese hadn't even been melted & the chips were only slightly warm. The cheesecake was warm on the outside but cold in the middle & the cocktails were served warm.I'd never eat there again - dreadful place.

After heading out in Leicester with my partner for a mealiness a Monday night we headed into this bar for a couple of drinks afterwards. The place only had a few people in and therefore the service was fast and the drinks prices were brilliant (I drank pints of Fosters at £2 and my girlfriend vodka Coke at £1!) The place did not fully fill therefore service was quiet all night and provided for a good atmosphere accompanied by music from a group of DJ's who you could see were enjoying their job and providing an alternative and refreshing evening out in Leicester.

Great food great service staff were extremely friendly and polite would highly recommend mixd cafe bar to other friends and family

Visited this place tonight Arrived at 6.50pm only 3 couples in to eat it's now 7.55 and still waiting for our food !!Service is appalling will never come back !!!!!

I have been to Mix'd Cafe Bar a couple of times now but this was the first time we decided to have something to eat. We went during our lunch hour and when we arrived the place was empty, as in we were the only people in there. We ordered our food and drinks straight away (there were only two of us), first of all there was no Beck's available on tap which was the same as last time I went in and also the rekorderlig needed to be changed so we had to wait a few minutes for our drinks. After 40 minutes are portion of nachos arrived which for the price was very disappointing. I believe they were around £7-£8 after we added on the spicy chicken, however the portion was very small and the toppings were very, very scarce. 5 minutes later (so 45 minutes after ordering) our Mix'd Club Sandwiches arrived which unfortunately again were disappointing. The chicken and the bacon seemed to be overcooked and the mayonnaise was actually mustard (which neither of us liked), but seeing as we were in our lunch hour and we had already waited 45 minutes for the food (plus 5 minutes walking time each way) we had no time to complain and had to settle for what we were given. Overall this was a very disappointing visit and I will not be returning for food unless any of these issues are addressed.
