Called into here yesterday very dirty carpet got food on it toilets dirty toilet paper on the walls in mens toilets not good place for people trying the place out for the first time sorry

Great pub, good value on drinks and the staff are amazing! very friendly!

They don't serve food but there's plenty of chippys and takeaways around and the landlords are nice enough to allow you to bring food from outside into the bar, landlords are amazing people and so welcoming and friendly so happy to update and change my review

Rated a 2 with the previous owners but the new owners are kind and respectful to everyone . A very clean and well maintained place to be in for a good time with great prices of alcohol . Price does change during weekends after 8 or 9pm not entirely sure. But all around good pub . Karoke nights every Friday .

The best pub in town, great landlords, great staff, cheap drinks and brilliant atmosphere. Dont go into pubs on my own but would feel safe doing that here 10/10

Totally discusting. Poss female staff following, made to feel uncomfortable as if we shouldn’t be there. Not to many in , toilets no door, 2 no seats and one totalled messed up. Being accused of being homophobic when totally we are not. Two guys dragged a quiet 64 year old woman out who was just sitting at the table and the female was trying to fight her but others held her back. I think we were out of place being well dressed. We all have many gay friends but seems all time we were in the staff were after causing trouble with us. First time in and was appaulled by this behaviour. People still in drinking after 2.30am . It felt as though they were anti straight people. Shame on them, they need better respectful staff. No need for what they did.

Fantastic pub. Gary & Brian are so welcoming & have hosted the Community Award Night, which was fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is buzzing and the friendly banter is right up my street. It’s always my first port of call. not very clean toilets are discusting and never clean toilet seats broken doors won't close to loud door staff walk of the door bar staff take to long to serve

Horrible place...never again...ladies toilet door missing to a cubicle which someone still used whilst I was standing there!! Other cubicles had toilet seat missing..avoid!

The taste and the environment are ok but the waitress is not friendly. I have tried another fish and chips just for a few days in Macclesfield and thought that I will not recommended my friends if they are more demanding.

Smelt of urine on entrance, very much a locals pub with a rough crowd. Drinks were cheap but very little to draw any new future customers

Brian is family now so is gary loved it great guys

Quiet in the afternoon pub. No real ale. Shame. Got all the lagers

2 landlords now run the pub, they have moulded themselves into the local community and have created a very popular town centre pub. You will often see Gary or Brian walking around the pub sitting at tables with customers making the experience what you want to see. Looking forward to seeing the return of the regular entertainment they both have planned. Pop in and say hi as everyone is always made welcome

From the moment that gary and brian took over we were given the warmest welcome ever. All staff are fantastic, atmosphere fantastic as well as prices and entertainment. Its nice to have a local again as well as new friends. Keep up the great work :)

Bar staff are heavily under valued and underpaid after speaking with them and the volume of customers they have to work with, the security/bouncers are highly aggressive, seem to be managed by inexperienced staff members who are not fit to do their job and manage other people in a controlled and safe environment. They have with myself and other members of the public, approached them outside of their own premises to provoke violence and threatening behaviour. Many people will be un-deterred by these facts and details but this may help anyone else who is affected by the security staff at this place of business who think that they are above the law.

Can’t believe how the staff treated us tonight, gutted as we used to find this place good. But now, staff have gone too far and are now abusing people, shame.

Strange one this taken covid restrictions too literally to the point you don't feel welcome and you feel uneasy sitting there and drinking ...don't get me wrong understand covid rules are there for a reason but I think the trick is to enforce them and make your customers feel welcome ..not enforce them to the point you feel uncomfortable as a customer ...

Visited yesterday and had a great time, the staff and management are doing a fantastic job under the present circumstances and hopefully will be back to full capacity very soon. Always a good day/night and feel safe in the knowledge that they are following the rules to keep everyone safe.

The guy who served us was lovely but the guy who asked us to sign in on the track and trace was very rude and miserable , I understand its a weird time but manners cost nothing!!

Below average venue with Poor service... won’t be attending again, verbal abuse from the staff also which is never great. Shambolic really

Decent these days. Popped in for a pint when i was back. I used to work the bar when it was The Albion. Staff are still friendly and the beer was cold so thumbs up!

Not to happy about cordoned off bar, excuse being it is not for everyone just people who are in at 11am. Still cordoned off at 5-20 PM, . So they have been in for 6 hours 20 mins. Hard to believe really. Just for locals I think, just be honest and dont lie guys.

For a sports bar its poor, switch the music off & put the commentary on for the sport please

Decent pint, plenty of tvs for football matches, but be careful of the drinks prices as they do shoot up towards the evening time without ANY warning.. My pint was 50p more as it was now after 6pm, despite being in there for a few hours

They sell tetleys a great YORKSHIRE beer.

Visited on a Saturday night. It was busy with a friendly atmosphere. DJ was mediocre at best but did play some requests. Would probably give it 3 stars. The poor star rating is due to being unable to take drinks on the dancefloor, which resulted in an empty dancefloor in a busy party pub while all the drinkers (including us) danced on the carpet around the dancefloor. If broken glass on the dancefloor really is a problem for them (which I struggle to believe as I have danced with my drink on that same dancefloor for years in The Albion and never seen anyone drop or spill theirs) then surely plastic glasses is the answer rather than the fun police effectively making a quarter of their busy pub unusable. On future nights out my friends and I will be returning to Reflex (even though Mitchell's is a nicer pub) just so we can dance with our drinks.

Nice for a beer after work and at £1.80 a pint, what a winner! Undesirables are kept in check too by the rather large chap managing the bar. Good work.

Smell of new carpets all spanking new. Very pleasant on the daytime. No idea what it is like at night. Notice there is a stage so no doubt DJ on at night?? Hope it maintains the standard
