Thursday night quiz night is always a good time. Food and service is good and the quiz just tops off the experience (especially if you win 😊) All the team are great and service is spot on.

Fantastic service and food, have been a few times now and all of the staff are friendly and helpful and the food has never disappointed.

I visited The Cotton Mill today to complete some of my assessment work for University. I was welcomed quite warmly by Keira, and was seated quickly. The staff were very accommodating, and the manager, Glenn, checked up on me a few times, offering me a glass of water while I did my studies. The services from the kitchen staff were quick and I was overall very happy with the time I spent here today. In the end, I managed to finish two 1,500 word essays, haha!! Thank you :)

Came here for food, which was delightful to say the least; however there was much left to be desired. Bar staff looked gloomy and uninterested, seeming annoyed when i came to the bar for service. Whats worse is that i could hear a bell ringing repeatedly from the kitchen, which i could only assume means that food is ready for the customer, however the young man and two ladies working paid no attention to this bell. Talking and gossiping away, obviously ignoring the guests meals. This shows that the workers do not care about their job or even the customers food, dampening our evening. The large man on the pizza section seemed upset about this too, having to tell the so called “manager” how to do his job properly and to take our food, at least somebody has some sense! The pub is very cosy and the food is great considering these issues. There might be a nice time to be had here, depending on which empolyees are working.

Pretty good, a few small mix-ups with our order but they were sorted in the end. A convenient and cheap family-friendly place

15 of us went for Christmas Dinner here , we were all very disappointed with our meal especially main course as veg cold, portion size was minimal, turkey very dry and tasteless, extra side orders were not what was stated on menu . Soup had skin on it , obviously stood for some time again only warm . Needless to say we won't be booking or recommending here again, having spoke to several people who also ate here on the 25th they were of the same opinion. On the plus side the service was good

Lovely staff and clean table and gave use more space as we had two babies with us. Food was nice but the roast potatoes where not very roasted as they where still pale and the gravy was very thin was like brown water.

there was 6 of us we went for my mum 70th birthday. we ordered food but 2 of them came out first then the over 4 came out 20 minutes later the other 2 eat there before the others came out..when the food came out we was not happy with the hungry chicken at all it was dead dry it had no b&q sauce with it.it was my first time here not going again .

They open at 11am on the Saturday we went, but they don’t serve any food until 12pm. They are missing a trick here as us two and four lads left due to lack of food for an hour. Also two male staff were not very welcoming. Smiling costs nothing. I’ll stick with ashbank hotel. Their breakfast is mega. On a plus point the cotton mill was a very clean pub.

Friendly staff, food is general pub grub which tasted okay. My son's steak was very chewy and he couldn't eat it. I ordered chips with my Mac 'n' cheese, we had to ask for them twice and everyone including myself had finished our meal by the time they arrived! However the staff did accommodate a small cake we had bought with us and they bought it out on a nice platter with icing sugar and the candles lit which we really appreciated!

Our table was well prepared, the meals were exactly as ordered and of a very high standard. Service was excellent and very courteous. We stayed longer than our allocated slot due to there not being a high demand for the table

Took my disabled mum who has multiple myeloma for dinner, staff very friendly and welcoming as always. The food was amazing for a dinner time, mum had scampi, fries and didn’t want peas so staff were more than happy to accompany with a side salad. I had hunters chicken baguette which was lush as it was toasted, this also came with chips but i was asked if I would like to swap which I did for fries. Overall experience 5 out of 5 stars. Thankyou team cotton mill 😊 mum ate all of her dinner which is quite rare, I did too as I always do when visiting.

Impressive food served quickly...

It was easy to book a table online. The staff were welcoming, the menu as expected, with a fair choice of pub food. The main meal was actually well cooked, and very enjoyable, produced quickly.The desserts were more varied that in some places, and were popular in our small group of friends. We'll be back.

Lovely atmoshere, friendly, helpful staff that always come and check that everything is okay with meal etc. Definitely recommend. 5 stars! Love the cosy decor and lighting too!

Myself and 3 of my friends meet here every 2 months to have a catch up and eat together. We always request a table away from speakers, as one of us has a hearing difficulty. Our request is always adhered to. This evening we came for a Christmas meal and to exchange our secret Santa gifts, yes it's November but it's the only time we could all meet. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Well done Cotton Mill! See you in January

Beautiful place very well kept The bar staff are glued to their phones 50% of the time but once they notice you standing there they will serve you and with good manners. The blonde bar manager is a disgrace to say the least Massive chip on her shoulder, obnoxious and like to roll her eyes when your trying to be polite I was stood behind her at the bar and I caught her mocking me to another member of staff, I pulled her up on it and she blanked me - I’m assuming because she was embarrassed. If your going to make fun of me atleast let me laugh with you lol no need to be bitter and uptight about it Christmas menu looks decent we were going to book, but not after tonight. I’m not Surprised the pub is almost empty everytime I’ve been

Enjoyable evening spent with friends

Good value pub. We stopped here for lunch on a drizzly Sunday and went for Sunday Roast. We were dissapointed the chicken option was not available but the beef was good. The portions were good size and the Yorkshire pudding crispy. One suggestion would be to have one or two extra healthier options in the menu. Thank you!

On certain days they do good food and drink offers. The food is typical pub fayre but it's cooked well and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I arrived at 21:10, well before the posted closing time of 23:00, yet the staff wouldn’t let us in, claiming they were closing. To add to the frustration, several staff members were outside smoking and having a pint as they informed me of this. It was disappointing to be turned away with nearly two hours remaining until closing.

We had a wonderful experience today as we were served by a lovely lady called Keira. She was very polite and extremely good at her job.

First visited Cotten Mill not long after it opened but haven't been back since but not due to anything wrong with the place just haven't had time so really wanted to visit again me & my partner visited I am 7 months pregnant an just wanted some nice lovely pub food an there was a nice variety of food an definitely tickled me taste buds I was full when I left will definitely be back again for another visit. Staff were friendly & lovely an service was good aswell would highly recommend good atmosphere aswell

my whole family has vomiting and diarrhea after yesterday's visit to you. It's the worst with the children, they didn't sleep all night, they cried, vomited etc. ... I don't know what to write but I wrote a post with information because in my opinion there is something wrong with the food. This is the second time that the situation repeats itself, I was convinced that the first time it was a coincidence but it turns out that it wasn't. I do not recommend! 😔

Great value Sunday lunch, the staff and manager were excellent.

Had a roast dinner, and it was genuinely awful. No flavor. Mash had clearly been sitting under the heat light for too long as it had a film over the top. Yorkshire puddings were disappointing, roast potatoes were honestly pathetic. I think I got 4 little ones and 2 of those were actually "fluffy"/edible. I don't believe either my partner or I finished our meal. Definitely won't be coming back. Only plus side was that the staff were pleasant.

Roast dinners was delicious, best in the area

Went here for lunch, the 2 ladys that were serving were lovely. One lady checked in regularly to see if we were enjoying our food and she made sure we had everything we needed, sauses etc. The food was lovely only think was my steak was quite chewy but other then that the starters and fish and chips were lovely. Would recommend to anyone who wants to eat our for a reasonable price and quality food.

Visited the Cotton Mill for an early tea & it was nice & quiet. Ordered drinks & food only to find that what I really wanted, the turkey sunday roast, was not available !! How can you run out of turkey?? Never mind, the food that we did order was nice & by the time we were leaving it was starting to get busy. Maybe if you want the Sunday roast - go at dinner time.....

3 of us came here for lunch. Had a lovely meal, food was very nice and the server, Glen, was very friendly and polite. Would return in the future.

Staff are absolutely amazing and friendly especially liv and the owner glen would definitely recommend coming to this establishment.

Food was good and reasonably priced. The staff, Rosy and Tom, who served us were very polite and attentive.

Group of four people. Had cowboy burgers and two Sunday lunches. Burgers okay but not great for price. Turkey dinner was horrible. Yorkshire pudding soggy and tasted like it had just been defrosted and had been no where near an oven. Gravy thin and tasteless. Turkey cold and dry as if it was out of a packet. Roast potatoes done on one side only. Mash was okay as ready made and warmed up. Veg was okay. Didn't stop for dessert. Sorry first visit will be our last

It used to be a great pubbut I went there for a meal and the food was horrible even the chocolate fudge cake was not very nice and the cocktail we ordered didn't even tasted like it should do so I don't think we will be going there again

The staff were helpful and lovely. Steak was abit tough considering we asked for medium rare but everything else was fab. Need some more napkins per table and spoons in the cutlery pots.

Had there special which is curry on a Wednesday, very nice. Went back the next night which is break night and had a nice gammon steak with egg and pineapple which was very tasty. Will go again.

Food overall of good quality, sometimes just needs heating through a little longer or less chewy/fatty steak. Not enough to out me off coming tho. Good price, good atmosphere, and service with a smile 😃.

Served promptly and with a smile, lovely atmosphere despite us being a late walk-in on a Sunday evening, considering we’d just gone elsewhere to be promptly told as we got through the door ‘no more orders’. Cotton Mill were lovely and welcoming, served promptly at the bar and the food came out piping hot and we didn’t wait long at all. Lovely choice on the menu - we’ll be back soon.

Had a lovely dining experience here , was greeted by friendly and welcoming staff . Clean , spacious pub with reasonably priced food and drinks. Ate 2 course and accommodated my special requirements. Food came out quick warm and very large portions. The manager Jake came over to see if all was ok and introduced himself as had recently taken over the venue . Will definitely be back again , my daughter loved the play area outside too! Wish the new owners all the luck .

Called in today for a light lunch the staff were very friendly brought a bowl of water over immediately for our Cockapoo. The food came with a minimal wait all food was hot and very enjoyable keep the good work up team.

First time coming cotton mill in years. Staff was miserable, didn't have any manners. Ordered from lunch menu, I had the tuna melt that was very average. My friend had the chicken & bacon club which was shocking. Bacon was raw & chicken looked very bland like it came from a cooked chicken packet out of a supermarket & looked very dry & cheap. Won't be coming again.

Ordered a pint of Wainrights Gold which the manager poured. He then stopped me and said it didn't look good as it was the end of the barrel. As a real ale drinker I really appreciated this as a lot of pubs would have sold it to you. Food was good and the service was superb. Good atmosphere for a Tuesday. Would definitely recommend 👌

Atmosphere was nice. Clean. Comfortable. Food arrived quickly. I ordered Lasagne with chips, supposed to come with garlic bread, but didn't. Lasagne was OK, bit bland, like a micro Lasagne. It was edible, but not something I would order again. My partner had the gammon, he really enjoyed his. He had chocolate fudge cake for dessert which he enjoyed. I had the apple crumble with custard. It was 90% crumble, 10% apple. So couldn't finish it, too dry. Wouldn't order that again either.

Called tonight at 20.10 for a meal after my Fiancées choir practice. Despite what it says on the website we were told that food service had stopped. So not 21.00 it claimed ! This is the SECOND time this has happened now. We also had the experience after an evening concert one Saturday in December at a local school that when some of the teachers went for a drink around 22.00 we were told they had stopped serving and were going to close ! Still tonight we had a very nice meal at 20.30 at the Victoria in May Bank.

Incredible and friendly service. Felt comfortable from the minute me and my friend came into the building. Welcomed with a smile and a lovely greeting. Food was brilliant and tasted delicious.

Not very impressed that both my daughters chose to eat chicken burgers and both girls were vomiting within hours of eating these !!! Won't be going back in a hurry !!

Ordered margarita pizza came fast and waitress was absolutely lovely (Rosie) , will be coming again as regulars

The staff who welcomed us was very nice. He gave us an option where to sit as we have booked. I ordered at the bar and the food was served straight away. My daughter and husband enjoyed their starter which was mozzarella bites and commented it was tasty. I had chicken wings and it was great. For mains, my daughter loved her burger and I liked my pie although I found it a bit sweet for my liking. My husband said the mixed grill was nearly excellent apart from the steak which was a bit over cooked for him. I was asked how the steak was going to be cooked and I said medium rare however it wasn’t. All of it were served hot. For desserts, we had a choc fudge cake which was a little bit dry and an okay sundae. But overall, I can’t fault the service. It was more than we expected.

Three adults visited for Friday evening meal, we had booked in advance on arrival we were not entirely happy with the table reserved (bar stool type chairs) staff member sorted us a more comfortable table with no fuss. Ordering was fine and they accepted our Blue Light Card with no problems. Food was all very tasty except steak in mixed grill was requested as medium rare and was I would say well done. Other than that a very enjoyable meal and venue.

Lovely place to eat with the family. The kitchen apprentice that works there is fabulous and made us lovely pizza! The kids really enjoyed!

Pub was very quiet, no atmosphere, needs cheaper food or more offers. I had a hunters chicken and there was the smallest amount of bbq sauce and 2 burnt onion rings, the steaks my friends had were also quite small. In general all portion sizes were small. Won't be planning to go again

Cosy, clean environment. Both servers were very friendly and we didnt have to wait very long for food. I made a mistake when I ordered online which they were happy to rectify, very pleased and food was very nice.
