Mister M's Traditional Fish & Chips in Coventry

Chips under-cooked, Scallops (you didn't say those are potato scallops), I thought it was fish - Also under-cooked. And the fish ... more buttered than fish. Terrible food. I requested scallops to be refunded, but surely should do the fish as well.

Chips were hard and felt over cooked. Fish was super greasy and the battered sausage felt like it had been under the heat all day not good wouldn’t go back there unfortunately

Food was absolutely delicious once again, lovely man too. Thank you will be ordering again soon!

Food was delicious, was a little disappointed in the kebab for the price but hey times are hard. Best fish & chips & battered sausages we have had in a longtime. They even called to say food was on the way and if we have any problems to just call etc cannot fault the service, will definitely order again!! Thank you very much.

Gross how this could be dubbed the best chippy I don't know what looked like lard hanging off my meat and the chips where super greasy the bloke tried talking to me as if we where friends getting way to personal no hair net no standards put his hands over the food and his hands didn't look clean how is he allowed to continue business acting like that appalling

the food arrived and the bag was already wet from grease, as soon as we took the food out of the bag that paper fell apart due to the grease, we opened it up and again just filled with grease, the chips were hot and okay and the Doner meat was dry and there was no full strands it was little bits just thrown in and for some reason very spicy with jalapenos in it when salad was not selected, the worst chippy I've ever had, will not be ordering again.

Food was greasy and had a bad odour.first time im complaining wver but this all landed in the bin.you can tell it was reheated multiple times as grease was wverywhere around thw bag. Mushy peas are outdated and in general all this food is a hazard to health. Unbelievable its been even sold to people.

The food was insanely greasy (cod and chips) and not nice to be honest and the portion were small compared to most chippys, the mushy peas and curry sauce weren’t great either, really wouldn’t recommend unfortunately, only redeeming factor was the price I guess

I was really disappointed with our order. The chicken kebab was chicken tikka and not the Mediterranean as shown in the picture and was very small for the price. The fish had batter so thick that it was really greasy and not fully cooked. The battered sausage was very greasy too. The southern fried chicken was really dry.

All good except one of the items was missing ( no jumbo sausage )

Nice fresh chips, cooked on arrival... While family enjoyed them, will be back to try the lamb meat.

This restaurant was amazing , when ordering we didn’t realise we had to collect (own fault) and I wasn’t able to pick up as husband has car at work and they kindly offered to deliver. I will certainly be using here again. Amazing customer service wish I could give 10 stars x

Need to close shop. Unfortunately. Food was just horrible dry chicken soggy chips absolutely appalling donner. Matey was so accommodating and sweet but this restaurant is doomed and I think he knows it. There are two amazing places one in Coventry one in Rugby if he needs the names he should reach out. Taking one employee from each kitchen will change things but I’m not sure he cares to keep things going. Good luck! Obviously you’re a good guy.

We use mister m's every weekend. Great food and lovely service. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a traditional chippy tea.

I hate to do this to a local chippy but the food was awful. Mr M was more interested in telling me about local gossip than in cooking my food properly. I had to remind him to check my fish. It was soo overcooked. The curry sauce and peas were bagged up 15 minutes before my food was given to me. He didn't start the chips until the fish had been taken out!!! I was the only customer. 20 minutes for one portion of overcooked fish and not crispy chips. Mushy peas were dark green and tasteless. That was a first. The curry sauce was watery. Sorry Mr M. I won't be returning

Lovely Donner kebab. Hot, fresh and LOADS of meat and the boss even cooked the Donner meat a bit more for me as I like it crispy. Nothing is too much trouble!!

Me and my brither ate here tonight not two hours ago and my bowels are throwing out runny gravy.... which smells alot better than the crap on offer here!!! Mr M was moaning about all the bad reviews he gets and telling us they are all fake but i can honestly say theyre true the food is genuinely a risk to health he doesnt was his hands or use gloves and unfortunately the skin on his hands looks chunky and thick i think he has an infection. I will be reporting this place to the local health department.

Food took 2 hours to get to us. Ordered 2 mixed kebabs with salad and sauce, received just chicken kebabs, no salad or sauce. Ordered a curry sauce which wasn’t received and 2 cans which wasn’t received either. Such a shame after the good reviews we had seen.

The food was a little late, but the delivery person apologised and the food was tasty.

Although the food was early it was terrible quality. Fish was very over cooked and extremely dry. As was the scallop. It wasn't mushy peas as was advertised, just processed peas. Won't be ordering from them again.

I’m from bell green and was looking for a decent chip shop as the ones in and around my area weren’t the greatest so as I was scrolling just eat for a chippy with good reviews, I came across Mister M’s. I decided to give it a go and head down to the other side of town and let me tell you now it was very worth it! Amazing customer service throughout really friendly people. Food was nice and fresh. Tasted amazing! Clean and hygienic environment. I Deffo will be returning !!

Unfortunately we had missing items such as the curry sauce , the pie and peas. The driver handed me a plastic bag with the peas and curry spilt into the bag in hope I wouldn't say nothing

Food was cold. Cod was dry. Peas tasted of vinager.

Chips looked awful and didn't taste much better. Chicken kebab had next to no meat in it and salad was all Cabbage and formed the majority of the kebab! Burger was just about edible. Won't be ordering again.

Please avoid this place this was my 1st time ordering from here and my last I asked for no salt on food n they put salt the food was eatable the fish was not fresh or clean it was think with batter they left this think black fish skin on the fish tasted not nice and full of oil not a lot of fish went in the bin … I paid for a beef n onion pie they send a microwave pastry pastie instead the curry sauce was weak like lumpy disk coloured water a big 17 pound something down the drain..they should be really shut down by food standards agency AVOID not happy

The order was wrong, food luke warm, and extremely greasy.

The battered Double decker was absolutely Devine. The chips are hands down the best chips I’ve ever had from any chippy! The curry sauce tasted different to the standard chip shop curry sauce and the saveloy didn’t taste as expected so my other half wasn’t overly happy. The deep fried pizza would of been 10/10 if it wasn’t so salty. I order the mixed kabab, even after I read the reviews on it and over all, I have to agree with what most of the said. The portion was practically none existent, the lamb kabab was a bit thin and dry, the chicken kabab tasted odd and had an undercooked vibe (unsure weather it was but I didn’t have awful stomach ache the next day) For the money, I did expect a bigger portion. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this occasion because I did order late in the evening, so maybe that was all they had left? I don’t know. I hope the food will be different when I receive my future order. Delivery driver was so friendly, 10/10. Once again, the chips were beautiful!

Best chip shop curry sauce in Coventry!

Food was dreadful. More grease on the kebab than there was actual meat. The meat that was there, was chopped into chunks and STILL PINK!! Chips were soggy and cold - ordered a large and got what we would describe as the scraps. Burger was mediocre. Ordered a half pounder, came with 2 ham thickness burgers in it. Scallop batch - soggy bottom, crusty top, more batter than potato and more salt than bread. Highly disappointed. Would NOT recommend

Overcooked, greasy fish. Could tell it was cooked in old oil. Chips had a strange taste, don’t know what they were cooked with. Burger was over cooked but probably best thing in the meal. Over priced and not worth the money. Will not go to again

I usually love the cod from here, but tonight's was dry, overcooked and it had a strong smell. I also asked for no skin, but that wasn't the case. It won't put me off ordering again, as the fish is usually lovely. Hopefully it was a one off.

First time Order from this chippy. The order was over 45 minutes late from the estimate just eat provides. The food actually quite nice. Tasted fresh and cooked well.

Cold, the fish is not very tasty and the kebab is just fries with almost no meat

NOT ARRIVED YET AS AT 11.35PM. Expected at 10.40,then messaged to say delayed till between 1105-11.25. STILL NOT HERE AFTER 1 HOUR DELAY. Not happy. Poor Service. Had to tick 1 star in food quality AND delivery to submit COMPLAINT.

I am giving this restaurant 4 stars because they missed out my partners chips and the banana fritta was inedible. The fish & chips however was very tasty.
