Busy little place, but well worth the wait. We on occasion drive quite a distance to visit this chip shop. Cod and chips with mushy peas is a must. Prices not too bad either. Well worth the visit! Just came back after a period of time and wow, still highly rate this place, food was great once again. Don't miss out on this one!

Never got delivered, just eat courier picked up the order from the restaurant and did not deliver. Just Eat took my payment, ignored my emails

I’m not sure what has happened recently—whether it’s new ownership or cutbacks—but Coopers Fish Bar seems to have changed, and not for the better. The portions have noticeably shrunk. While the fish and chips tasted lovely, the fish was tiny, almost like a mini fish, and the small chips were barely a handful. It used to be so much more generous! This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed the change, either. We had a kebab a few months ago, and it was the same story—much smaller portions than before. It’s a real shame because Coopers was such a fantastic place until just a few months ago. I hope they can turn things around because the quality of the food is still good, but the portion sizes are letting it down.

Poor service walked in ignored for 5 mins while one lady staff checks her phone. Ask for large f&c £10 down the drain chips uncooked and stuck together straight in the bin. For decent service I could make an allowance, for the sub standard service I received here I wont be returning.

I sailed across the vast, fish-filled seas of Canada, not for binley mega chippy (overrated, if you ask me), but for the legendary Coppers Fish Bar. They didn't just serve me a fish they handed me a behemoth of the deep, a creature so vast it could've starred in its own sea monster movie. I'm pretty sure I saw it wink at me before I took my first bite. This wasn't just a fish it was a full-blown aquatic adventure on my plate. The chips? Oh, they were like golden nuggets of joy, each one crispier than the last, as if they were fried in the tears of angels. And the batter? So light, you'd think it was made by the same folks who craft clouds for a living. Here's the kicker: I asked for tartar sauce, and they gave me a tub so large, I could've used it as a hat. Not that I would, because, hygiene, but you get the point. In summary: - Fish: The size of a small submarine. - Chips: Crunchy enough to wake up the neighbors. - Service: Like being served by pirates, but the friendly kind who don't make you walk the plank. Tried them again today for the second time before writing this review to ensure whether they’re consistent in service and YES they are. Called for the mini fish and chips, service was quick, cards accepted and decent portions. Chips came out really well, not too oily. Clean oil has been used, no after taste. The batter was crispy, fish was fresh and seasoned generously. The place was spotlessly clean. Interacted with Ms Baali the owner, humble and smart. They’ve been around for 30 years and clearly knows the trade. After having tried a few chippys in and around Coventry, its safe to say Coopers shares the top spot with another chippy in CV3. Good job, keep it going. Tip: Though you have got good visibility, the floating crowd doesn't seem to know (how good you are) enough in my opinion, you guys need to reach out a bit more.

Lovely business, always welcoming and friendly. When I was in last they let me try the "big foot" battered sausage and it was lovely! I usually get the normal ones and I would highly recommend it to anyone else that likes the sausage.

Love this place! Very tasty food with lots of veggie and vegan options, which you don’t see a lot at chippys. All the staff are very friendly and give brilliant service.

Food arrived fast and nice and hot. The fish was so nice, cooked perfectly. I ordered a side salad too and it came with a a delicious homemade coleslaw. Really enjoyed the meals we had.

I ordered an amazing taste burger today. The fries are also very good. I highly recommend trying homemade chili sauce. Staff very nice and friendly.I will definitely come back there again

I had been looking for vegan food for a while in Coventry, so glad I found this place, Bally and the team cooked everything separately from meat and non vegan items, separate utensils and used gloves. The food 😋 was great so many options and only place in Coventry that does a Vegan kebab. Highly recommend

These fish and chips are average at best. Considering the lack of options I might visit again, but it certainly isn't "good" by any means. Chips were mushy and dark, sausage was lukewarm.

Chips very cold they looked like they had been sitting around for a very long time. Chicke kebab meat was just bits and very dry . The onion and salad in my kebab was was as though it was cut up at dinner time and kept until the evening. So will not be ordering again.

Last two orders have had lots of chips with bits of grit that you bite down on whilst chewing - need to clean their potatoes better before cooking.

Class chippy with friendly staff. Very much appreciate the extensive vegan menu. Always good chips. The vegan options are cooked to order, so there will be a little wait, but I don't mind and the staff do let you know. Obviously all the classics are available for non-vegans.

Only one of the two meals we ordered was delivered, the restaurant said they couldn’t do anything about it (like send the food we had ordered…) Had to get refund through just eat which we will see in 7 days. Would have much preferred to actually receive my dinner. So on the whole - hungry and disappointed. The food that did arrive was Luke warm.

I’ve ordered from here plenty of times over the years I’ve never ever had a issue however tonight unfortunately was completely different experience I ordered fish and chips as soon as I tasted it I knew it was off I took all the batter off and the smell was overwhelming. I can only assume this place has new owners I am so disappointed too I used to love this chip shop

I’ve always used this chippy and it’s always been good however the order I got today I’ll never use it again, fish was definitely off the smell and taste was rancid the chips we’re terrible. I’m wondering if this place has exchanged hands because I’ve never had this experience before but it’s put me off going back. Feel like I’ve chucked my money in the bin as that’s where the food ended up, Sorry to leave this review but it’s honest, I’m disappointed

We over the years had very good food and service on Thursday I called in wanting 2 Haddock, none available so had Cod 7.50 each portion, I commented one piece was a lot smaller to be told it was thicker, both were not hot to start with tasted stale chips were cold, next time it has to be cooked fresh please see photos
