This used to be the best place in Worksop with the best food and an incredible atmosphere. Unfortunately it's been ruined since the new management took over and the food is now like everywhere else, it's deafeningly loud to the level where the young staff can't even hear themselves and the atmosphere has gone. It could have been brilliantly updated and instead it's now a no go. A massive shame - the family have been regulars. We have shared feedback and they are not interested in it. Unfortunately what has happened to Miss Poppies is now word of mouth not in a good way. Really sad. I adored this place and now have to go elsewhere since it reopened.

We heard about afternoon tea so decided to go with our friends on Saturday. We pre booked as it is a requirement to allow time to prepare the delicious food. There were 4 of us and as we had been for afternoon tea on many occasions to other establishments we knew what to expect. Well to say we were shocked !! This afternoon tea was the BEST we had ever had. There was 1 , 3 tier stand full of sandwiches, another with a sumptuous array of little cakes and another, yes 3 altogether, with 8 scones and lots of clotted cream and pots of jam. We had tea, coffee, extra lattes and bottled water too. The staff were extremely polite and attentive throughout our visit. We had a lovely relaxing afternoon and will definitely visit again. Miss Poppy’s also serve breakfast and lunch, have a specials board and they have a massive choice of homemade cakes and scones. The cafe is within Eyres and you have to go upstairs but I’m sure if needed you could use the lift. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

This is a great example of a basic British cafe - and if that is what you are after, Miss Poppy's is well worth seeking out. We visited for breakfast on a weekday morning and had no problem getting a table at that early hour. Yes, the staircase from the store below by which the cafe is accessed would be challenging for less mobile customers, but once up there, the space is light and bright, comfortable and unpretentious. Efficient, professional service and some little extras like a range of newspapers and magazines of the Hello/OK variety on offer all added to the experience. The breakfasts were both generous and well cooked. There is very limited parking behind the store so at other times of the day, you would be likely to need to park elsewhere. All up, a welcoming and relaxed environment in which to enjoy a good breakfast.

This cafe is hidden upstairs in Eyre's furniture store. Its not physically-disabled friendly but then that's the building, and no fault of the cafe owners. Visited for breakfast. Its a very traditional-looking establishment (to the point of being quaint, but I like that!) and very clean. I'm vegan so I asked for tomatoes and mushrooms on toast, with OJ to drink. This isn't on the menu but staff were happy to oblige. Good sized portion and I enjoyed it. My omni family also really enjoyed their traditional breakfasts - huge, and I'm told, well cooked and tasty. They also do lunches but I was advised this can be very busy for them, so if planning to visit as a group it may because good idea to book. They have a good range of vegetarian lunch dishes up on their board, but I'm informed by a member of staff that if I would like a vegan meal to let them know when I am coming. Its not ideal if I just want to pop in but good to know that it's an option and I appreciate that they are willing to cater for different diets - plus they also do gluten free. Also, as always I have to mention the toilets. Again, very clean. Overall a lovely establishment to visit, particularly because the staff are so pleasant and obliging.

A change from some of the modern shops of today. The scone was served with jam and cream in separate containers and was excellent, just like Mum used to make. The coffee, however, left a lot to be desired, very bitter. Not sure if they understood what an Americano was as I realised it was not on the menu when I looked later and cost me 50p more than a filter coffee which was probably what it was.Lots of 'regulars' seemed to be coming in and the food on display and served hot looked very good.
