Miss Millie's Awesome Chicken in Southampton

Unorganized and Unfair to Delivery Riders I work as a delivery rider and had a very frustrating experience with this restaurant. Their system for managing online orders is a complete mess. I arrived at the restaurant on time, only to find out the order wasn’t even prepared yet. After waiting for a long time, they still couldn’t get the order ready. Even worse, they tried to blame me for the delay when it was clearly their fault due to an issue with their online system. This isn’t the first time this has happened here, and it’s really unfair to both the customers and delivery riders. If you can’t track orders properly, at least take responsibility instead of shifting the blame!

08/10/24 Haven't seen one for these since I was young so happy to see the odd one here of there its a shame that everything about is changed bar the name its self. 9/10/24 Came in for wing Wednesday where you buy 5 wings and get 5 free was only given 5 and checked online if the offer had ended (it had not) surprised, went to ask if the offer had ended and the male server straight up lied and said it had ended, so I questioned that the offer was still online, and without a beat passive aggressively added 3 more wings in the container when it was ment to be 5, the screen where the offer usually is had been turned off. Terrible customer service. Really having mixed reviews about this place.

Ordered chicken box, and 2 portions of cheesy chips. The xhips has hardly any cheese on not to mention it’s cheese sauce. Took an hour to arrive and just not great

Wandering around Southampton Town centre and decided to try out this place situated on above bar street. Stepped into a dark restaurant that was quiet for a weekday lunch, there were a few more customers as I sat eating here. The staff was lovely and the food was piping hot. I went with the current specials, the hot shot meal that included a cluck'n hot burger, fries, drink, side (I went with their gravy) and 2wings of fire. Now immediately I had to compare with the well known competitor just down the road. Pricing is comparable. Bonus for hot food and service with a smile. The breading was crisp and crunchy, flavour wasn't as strong with the southern spicing and it was a little salty on my palate. The chicken portions were much more generous decent amount. The spice in the burger mainly came from some sliced chili which was a nice touch, the wings were good. The gravy had great texture but flavour was a little light and was over powered by the others. I enjoyed it and I would try again some other items on their menu.

Great little spot except the chips are wayy too expensive I paid £2.99 for a normal portion of chips and I promise you it's an embarrassingly small portion. Think of a small frieds from mcdonalds except these cost £2.99. If they gave more chips I'd probably give it a 5star and take all my friends and family here

I went to Miss Millie's for the first time. It was the new Miss Millie's in Southampton Town centre. I ordered what I think is delicious for me. I ordered The Classic as a meal. When I got my meal looked inside my burger honestly looked really fantastic looked like a real chicken burger. I did get Garlic Mayo dip for the chips,inside the chips was so fluffy but wasn't crunchy could make it very crunchy to be nice. This is the best restaurant I ever been to! 😃😃😃 Suggested to go and try it's the best 👌!!!

It's good but way too much salt and MSG. Very expensive for what it is. Food was delivered by Just Eat warm and with one wrong item but no way to contact restaurant about mistake.

Kfc miss millie can take you to school when it comes to hot wings You may be cheaper but hers is finer

You need to fix your deliveroo menu options it's costing you sales , makes you look unprofessional. I was so disappointed in how your deliveroo menu worked I didn't order , turning a £60 order into £40 , As a group, we do not recommend this place as basics aren't met, disappointment

Our favourite place to have lunch and a piece of cake. Nice variety of food and always a good variety.

One of our visits to Southampton and we came across this place, it looked so inviting so we went, I've ordered 5 meals and some loaded fries and wings, food not bad however burgers not the best, Megabite burger I didn't like at all hashbrown was squished inside the bread and no cheese sauce present, the fries can be seen a few inside a pack. we waited 30min for our food, place was almost empty. 3 staff members seen, the lady at the tills she was nice and you can see she has all the work doing the till and preping the meals for costumers. I didn't like the fact the a man was cooking the food with beard and no beard cover at least. There was cardboard boxes and books by the fryer which was frying all sorts of things in the same basket one at a time. The table was dirty and sticky, my daughter used the toilet and was disgusting and smelly, same smell was coming to the restaurant.

The only delicious thing in this store is the chicken wings! The rest of the burgers and fried chicken are average ☹️ Five stars for the chicken wings! And it closes very late! You can go buy it after midnight if you are hungry! If you are a student, there is a 10% student discount

Smelt like piss and was not hygienic at all, no body was in there so it makes sense why now, asked for food and got refused so left and went to kfc instead.

It was a lovely thursday morning cz I had the bestest wings in town♥️ atmosphere was really nice and staff was humble too there was a great guy on duty who treated us well and we enjoyed our yummy nd delicious fried wings in a lovely atmosphere♥️HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The food was not very good. We ordered Clunk'n hot burger but the lable was different on the burger warp. Tables were greasy and dirty.Staff doesn't care about customers

He ignores us everyone(everytime to me and my friends) He has very arrogant behaviour.. Rest, everything is fabulous.. We most of the times don't visit the store because of him.....

We had ordered this for the 1st time. Smelt amazing. We had a few wings and notice the chicken didn’t look good so we called them. And they said it was marinated. After looking they don’t have a food rating. And the reviews for food poisoning are shocking. Would avoid

Unfortunately, there is a little bit of language barrier. When ordering, I couldn't understand much of what the man was saying. English a little poor. Tables were so sticky. Wasn't nice, couldn't/wouldn't want to put your arms down them.

My son loves Millies chicken after the football on a Saturday. I don't mind it and it's reasonably priced. We'll eat here again instead of KFC.

This pains me to write this email, cos the food is great, but I need to share my experience. On Tuesday 12th December around 7:30pm, I arrived at the counter ready to order food. The girl was changing the bin. So I waited. Once she finished changing the bin, she then came straight to the counter and asked mewhat I wanted. Sorry, are you not going to wash your hands. I was in shock and out of curiosity I gave her my order to see if she would then wash her hands. She didn't. She picked up the tray and make my food. Absolutely disgusting! Luckily I saw where her hands held the tray and I held the other end. She then went on to serve another 3 people, still no wash of the hands. This is totally unacceptable. I certainly won't be coming back here and I encourage others to disenfect or wash their hands before and after eating here. This really shouldn't happen in 2023. I'm now kicking myself that I didn't say anything, I wish I had.

Overly loud music, sticky tables that, in the center, are too close together to be comfortable. Rubbish left on other tables the entire time we were there. Wait time was 30 minutes for food. When the food did turn up, it was piping hot (good!), But drowned in sauce so it got a bit oppressive in taste towards the end of the meal. For the price you can get more for cheaper at better quality at the KFC nearby. Staff were friendly and quick to take orders and quick with any requests. I don't blame them for any of the above, they are clearly understaffed. Don't eat here.

Probably would have been good, unfortunately 2 burger meals were missing. I was not able to just get them replaced and told it would take a further 48 hours to refund. Edit, I would like to say that I am extremely impressed and grateful for the service I received following my complaint the owner promptly responded to me and offered to resolve the issue by replacing the missing food. The service, response and food were exceptional. Really feel valued as a customer where other venues fail. We will be returning. Thank you ❤️

FOOD POISONING. DO NOT EAT HERE. Ate here Saturday night and both me and my friend shared a meal. He has been vomiting and had an upset stomach for the past two days and I started vomiting this morning (Monday). Lots of complaints about the same thing on here. Avoid. Will be contacting Health and Safety Exec.

Not worth it. I was wondering if I should go to KFC or try it and it was the biggest mistake. Fried chicken recipe is not good at all and the fries were mushy and not nice.

the food was the best part of our experience here today which really speaks to the rest of the restaurant, gross chicken with slimy and black bits in it and the lack of customer service was appalling, sat down at a seemingly clean table to then see there’s ketchup smeared over half of it, the girl taking my order decided to stop halfway through to gossip with her coworker and ignored me when i was trying to pay, the girl who called my food was ready didn’t say a single word to me and the same two girls just stood talking the whole time not a single bit of good customer service in sight, drinks are advertised as being from a drinks machine in a glass however when you get them they’re in a lukewarm can and all of the free condiments (mayo, ketchup ect.) we’re empty wouldn’t ever go here again

Not happy at all ordered a milkshake and churros no dip with the churros and no straw with the milkshake and it’s thick so there’s no way I can drink it I know it’s little things but it affects the whole meal and that’s twice now it’s happened

So 4th time ive ate at millies chicken. First 2 times food tasted alright portions were generous but about 3/4AM i woke up in the night with intense stomach aches and pains. Glued to the toilet for hours. This happened EVERY TIME i eat from Millies and millies only. Second 2 times food tasted plain, dry and burnt and AGAIN woke up and glued to the toilet in pain. I stopped going there as all my friends said they have the same every time they eat there, ordered again last night as its been a while thought they’d of changed it up but its now 4:24am and im glued to the toilet in agony. IVE HAD FOOD POISONING EVERY TIME I EAT HERE AND HERE ONLY

I am absolutely disgusted! I went here on my lunch break today. I ordered for myself and a friend. I’m a vegetarian and I saw that you did a vegan burger which is what drew me in. I ordered this and a regular chicken burger. I ordered the food to takeaway as I needed to get back to work. I sat down with my friend to eat lunch only to discover my vegan burger had been labelled as the chicken burger. I’d already taken a bite and said to my friend that my burger tasted funny. They bit into theirs and said that they had my vegan burger! Obviously I was extremely upset about this and called Miss Millie’s back for a simple apology and to explain what had happened.. instead after explaining and asking for customer services number, I was hung up on. I am so utterly disappointed and upset. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn’t eat meat.

Place is pretty dirty, tables aren't cleared and cleaned regularly and bins were almost completely full, couldn't throw my food away properly, and the food was quite flavourless, we had a burger and chips, it was just a little sweet but had a nice crisp. Deserts are fine tho, nothing I was amazed at. I can not recommend this place, but it does have potential. For now it's defo not worth the asking price.

I went here as my partner wanted to take part of their collaboration for a game. I didn't expect greatness but the more we ate, the worse it got. They got both our burgers wrong, got our drinks wrong and we both got churros. My partner obviously got the newer batch as mine were pure oil. Really really bad. But my partner said the chicken wasn't dry! He had my burger to take home and I got food elsewhere as I couldn't eat my burger due to allergy problems.

2 people working here makes for incredibly slow service. Hire more people..... sure it will cut into the profits a bit, but the service will be so much smoother.

What can you say but what an embarrassing experience. Opening the doors in September last year was a rush working with a commited Area boss you see the group who invested in Millies are gullible and the owner of the miss millies name a con artist. Every store opened outside Bristol has failed why because the brand has no substance no drive no offer to anyone hence the con aspect. Why am I commenting now is the pure frustration I feel for the team past and present who put there faith and hard work in to southampton in both companies to deliver for them and the public what an embarrassing failure on both companies as its now being sold to independents and people who deserve true credit for their work has been demoted and cast aside what an embarrassing waste of time and committed effort from my boss my self and my former team and I hope lessons are learned but probably not Regards the former General

For any Too Good To Go users, don't bother, they shut the shop before you can collect and don't cancel. Totally wasted journey, got it refunded but don't get the time/effort back.

Chips were way over done, burger was dry and extremely bland. Wouldn’t recommend unless your dying from hunger.

Update as of 25 June 2023: The team actually listens and every visit is a very pleasant experience. The food quality remains outstanding, it is one of our favourite places to eat in during weekends. Keep up the good work! ***** The chips were crispy and piping hot and the Millies Hot Chicken Burgers were excellent. There were three things I have to point out on our visit to this store: 1. A bit of a tweak with the customer skills for the young lady who served us, it was around 2:30 to 3:00pm on a Sunday, probably she’s tired - benefit of the doubt. 2. Wish I took a photo of our drinks - it was Pepsi Max as part of our upsized meal. There was no ice and it was three fourths full. Maybe the person was rushing to fill our drinks as it started to get busy. 3. No ketchup - there was smooth mayo though which was very good in my opinion. Albeit the girl in the counter was apologetic when I asked for ketchup, she was a bit cold. Again, maybe it wasn’t a good day for her. Overall experience, food is well-seasoned and the chicken is nothing like KFC, it is actually a better version of that famous fried chicken. I’m coming back - as I need to use those little vouchers given with the order. Great value meals I have to say.

Great food never been or seen this place before. Only 1 toilet for all customers (there is a disabled one but you need to have a radar key). Was a little busy with 2 big family groups but the table we sat at wasn't wiped over. Would be good to have something on the table or wall beside explaining how this business started

Have been here a lot, mostly positive experiences. Food is great and employees are friendly. Had a couple instances where the food took longer than usual, other than that not much to say.

Until the menu change I was coming in regularly, maybe once a week and would have rated 5 stars!! The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the chicken is very nice, but I came today for the first time since the relaunch, studied the new menu then left :( the value for money has seriously declined since the relaunch, a shame but I won't be visiting again. I could get a good box meal for £8.99 I can no longer get that meal at all, anything close to it would cost me around £14 now :(

This was my first visit as looks great place to eat. Unfortunately it was terrible service as no one acknowledged me and kept me waiting. When did order no apology or thank you for waiting. In fact they were abrupt. Once I got the food the chips were lukewarm and the chicken burger was bland and oily. Better off just going to KFC!

How is it actually possible to fry chicken so badly? It's so dry to the point of being inedible, my chicken looked like it had been cooked so long ago and overcooked. I'm sure they are deliberately giving people chicken that should have gone in the bin just to get rid of it. But with chicken this bad they're not going to have many customers are they so it will go dry. I certainly won't be wasting any more of my money in there. The server wasn't exactly full of joy either.

I had a burger and fries at this place last Monday. I started to feel sick about 2 hours after eating there. I vomited all night and still feel sick three days later. This place ruined my vacation I'm currently on.

Some hours after I had the chicken burger I felt sick and threw up all night. I read in other reviews that people also got food poisoned. Never again!

I usually love these guys, but twice now they've given me the wrong take out order. I don't open it until I get home.

Though the quantity and taste was good with nominal price, both my children fell sick within 2 hours with continuous diarrhoea all through the night one after another. we doubt the oil you used frying.

Got hyped up for this by a friend because he'd heard good things so we went. Was really disappointed. Chicken was really dry and I've never experienced a chicken drumstick having dry chewy skin before. I ended up leaving a piece of chicken and went to burger king after as was still hungry. Only saving grace was that they didn't use disgusting skin on fries like kfc

So disappointed, food was nice but both my partner and I got food poisioning from the chicken. Have informed them but no response! What a shame.

First time coming to miss Millie's with my children and friends, the service was fantastic no waiting around and was very polite, the food was delicious I have loaded fries and my children had the kids meals and waffles and sed thy was best they have had

Best chicken takeaway around. Me and my boy's loved it we even brought breakfast to take home for the next day. The gentleman that served us was amazing and very patience and polite as we had never been before and kept going back up to order more. Definitely would recommend 10000000%.
