I chose this place because it is located in the beautiful Rosewood Hotel and I thought it would be amazing. Dont get me wrong, its good but nothing that knocked me out as I was expecting. Nice setting and good service. Great selection of teas and limited quantity of sandwiches but they offer to refill if needed. They had a nice touch because they brought me a special little B’day cake (my birthday was 2 days before and they ask for your date of birth when booking, I didnt specify it). Maybe I will try to hace some traditional ones like Lemon Drizzle, Battenburg Cake, Victoria Sponge, Bakewell tart or my favourite Golden Syrup Pudding. A mixture of traditional and new would be more balanced. The best for me were the scones and jam…really well made, delicious jam, clotted cream and lemon curd. A bit small but one of the best I have tried so far. The hotel is so beautiful that it is 100% worth going and I loved my experience but I wouldnt go back again because of how much chocolate they use.

We are very regular customers and have been staying and dining at the hotel for several years. Usually we enjoy afternoon tea and I used to think it was quite good value compared to other 5* hotels in London. I booked afternoon tea having not gone for some time. I wish I had checked the prices as the cost of the afternoon tea is now absolutely insane. I actually feel a little upset to have discovered how much we paid today. Firstly we noted that the quality has significantly decreased. The sandwiches and scones are still good (the staff seem a little meaner when offering extra sandwiches compared to in the past). However, the cakes weren’t very high quality. They were all stodgy sponge-like cakes with very amateur-looking icing - it was almost funny how basic they looked. They all tasted pretty similar. I like yuzu but it was used in every other cake! The cakes tasted cheap and weren’t very creative compared to the past cakes. I won’t be having afternoon tea in the Mirror Room again as despite being wealthy, the prices are just ridiculous, especially after the very noticeable decline in quality. There is no way afternoon tea should cost that much. It’s a shame as the room is lovely and the tea selection is great as are the sandwiches. They also wanted to charge £50 I believe for my 4 year old who ate 1.5 finger sandwiches and two mouthfuls of cake! Thankfully they did agree to let him share ours after checking with someone more senior. In the past it has been no extra cost for very young children. The service was fairly good but not very warm. I’m not surprised that the restaurant was almost empty at the time (my husband had just told me that he overheard some hotel guests discussing the shocking price increase for afternoon tea and saying they would go elsewhere after I told him what we paid today). It’s such a shame a once truly luxurious hotel that did everything perfectly is squeezing customers so hard and not delivering in terms of quality. We also drank in the bar shortly after and it was pretty average with decent service. The new cocktail menu isn’t very interesting and frankly, it sucks compared with the old one which featured 3 blind mice, bubble and shrubs, sipping with Churchill etc. This was our favourite hotel but I’m not sure I want to return sadly…

I met up with a friend after 2 years ,we chose this venue with it being a special occasion. Our main arrive but straight away I had to send it back due to a large black hair on the top , the waiter took it away and after about 5 minutes another waiter brought , What I hoped , a new dish over , no apology nothing , in fact it was never mentioned at all and we still paid the large bill. Very disappointing customer service.

Back for another visit to the rosewood london, this time for 4 days. Had breakfast in the mirror room each day and what I have to say is you couldn’t find a better breakfast dinning experience in london. The room, decor and table settings are beautiful. Each day we were greeted by the hostess, a delightful young lady who was always smiling, with a very positive nothing is too much trouble attitude. She seated us every day, sorry I don’t have your name but thank you. To the servers and other staff in the mirror room you were all outstanding in your attitude, service and attentiveness, this does not go a miss or unnoticed, Once again thank you to you all. Not forgetting the food, this is nothing short of amazing each and every time we stay. So tasty and well presented on the plate makes it extra special each time you dine. From my family to you all thank you for making our stay so great ❤️

Outstanding from start to finish. We were seated at a great table by very welcoming staff. We ordered a mix of one fruit breakfast plate and one full English breakfast along with juices, coffee’s and pastry’s. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. The pastry’s were beautiful and light with great flavour. The condiments that were in offer were very very good. And we must say the staff were brilliant. Faultless service along with fantastic food.

am furious ! I know we live in unpredictable times and this can effect bookings however The Rosewood just phoned me to say my booking for afternoon tea this Sunday is now cancelled due to the room being closed. We only visit London occasionally and I have been planning this trip for my daughters birthday for months. i have now been left in the situation where I can't book anything else because every where is full. The Rosewood must have known sooner than this that they could not my booking. I am very dissapointed.

This is the second time I have taken afternoon tea here and I can say the experience was again very good. The sandwiches were generally good, the chicken was the best. The egg mayo and peppers were our least favourite as the flavours didn't come through, it was rather bland compared to the rest. The pastries are what make this afternoon tea special, the representations of Picasso artwork is very good visually and they taste good as well! Service was was very good, we never struggled to get their attention. The price is in the higher bracket for afternoon tea but overall a very nice time was spent here and it is highly likely that we will return again.

Called in for brunch as it was on the way to St Pancras and the website looked good. The food was nice BUT extremely expensive for what it was. £17 for cold avocado, poached eggs, chickpeas and rocket on toast and sat next to the toilet door. We paid a third less for similar at the Ivy, Tower Bridge where the surroundings were far superior. Plus no green tea!! My husband had 2 eggs and some ham and a very small latte and it was just shy of £40!! My cup was half empty and I wouldn’t return.

It was an absolutely amazing experience, and I have honestly would have given 7 out of 5 if it wasn’t for the end. We were looked after a lovely gentleman called Adrian and he was really nice and professional, he followed us through the whole meal and made sure our experience was great. He did succeed and we also had a couple of more waitress touching our table and there were all absolutely lovely. Since the start we were really exited and the thing of guessing the ingredients in the dish was so much fun… Was also my girlfriend birthday and the champagne on house on the arrival was a really lovely touch. Everything went great, it was a special occasion for other personal reason but I’m not going too deep into it, just was wishing that the evening wound have ended a bit better. We finished the 5 courses of an Amalfi experience meal, and I cannot thank Adrian (the waiter) enough to make this evening so lovely. I come from the south of Italy and I was hoping to end the meal with an espresso. I have been also working on restaurants for the last 20 years across 3 different countries, I indeed work as a manager in an Italian restaurant and I know for sure that until the last drink order of called the coffee machine should not been closed, specially in an Italian restaurant (or experience). But I also know how hard and heavy is working long hours in hospitality is, but what bothers me is not the thing that I could have a coffee after my meal, but the way how the female bartender reacted to my request. I asked Adrian for an espresso and when he asked the bartender if he could have a coffee she responded to him quite loud “of course is closed”. Adrian came to the table and really politely told us that we could not have a coffee so we had a couple of limoncello shot instead. Again what bothers me is only the way how this bartered had reacted to my request, otherwise this would have been a 10 out of 10 dinner. I still recommend to go there as food was lovely and service was great (waitress stuff, bit much from the bar) but if you are a coffee lover after dinner make sure you go there earlier than 9pm. Adrian, thank you for your service, you’re great!!!!
