Miraj Indian Takeaway in Edinburgh, City of

This used to be the miraj it is now abida and the food is totally rubbish it is the worst curry ive ever had and ive had some bad ones. The taste is pure pepper heat no taste of spicesl.

Very dissapointed with our order on Christmas day with all the lamb dishes the meat was very tough I'm sure it must have been mutton tho the chicken dishes were good

Pedí pollo a la mantequilla y naan peshwari. Naan era bueno y el pollo era suave y sabroso, pero la salsa no era una salsa de mantequilla. Sin tomates, más como un korma. La entrega fue rápida a las 5. 45 pm un viernes.

Entrega prevista para las 7. 45 pm. Cuando había pasado media hora y seguía sin señal o llamada telefónica que dijera que sería tarde, intenté telefonear. Comprometido cada vez y lo intenté más de 20 veces. A las 9 pm me di por vencido y fui a cobrar. El pedido ni siquiera se había iniciado y había al menos otros 15 pedidos esperando y el teléfono estaba descolgado, ¡por lo que no pude pasar! ! ! Esperé mientras hacían mi pedido, pero era el pedido incorrecto, ¡así que tuve que esperar nuevamente! ! El único indicio de disculpa que recibí fue el reembolso de los gastos de envío. No lo recomendaría y no volveré.

Pedido en línea, llegó el conductor de entrega. Se buscan 3 más que el precio en el correo electrónico recibido. Hablé con la tienda y le dije que retomara el pedido. De repente aceptó el precio original. La comida no era tan buena como siempre. Tenga en cuenta este truco amigos. Así que definitivamente no volveré a ordenar. Sr. Miraj un cliente leal menos.

After 1hr 40 minutes I called to check on my order and could not get an answer that I could understand, eventually they hung up on me.. So I still have no idea whether it will be delivered. I could hear an angry customer in the background. Sorry I can't comment on the food as I haven't got any.. We are having Chinese lol!

We have used this take away previously after this evenings experience not again. Our delivery was half an hour late almost an hour and a half after order. The food was lukewarm and the quality was average. Vegetable pakora was okay the rice was claggy and the curry was tasteless while nan was thick and very dough intensified. Overall very dissatisfied and disappointed.

So me and my hubby thought we would treat ourselves to a takeaway as it’s been a busy day, wish we hadn’t of bothered ! It took 1hr 30mins to come (it’s a Thursday night 🤷‍♀️) the lamb chops were ok, not very hot, the hubby had extremely bland sheesh kebab, the main didn’t get any better, bland, watery, luke warm and quite a let down !! Should of just had beans on toast and saved the cash 😳

We were on holiday and saw this place on just eat. My Ceylon was stated as medium. Medium it was not , it was inedible. Far too hot to eat. No taste , just heat. The mixed grill was the opposite, under spiced. The poppadoms and pickles were nice. You might feel differently, depending on your pallette.

Highly rate the food and service in Miraj, the curry I got was delicious, will definitely return and recommend.

as an original customer of the Miraj takeaway in Davidson mains, I've never had a complaint but last night after a long spell of not eating curries due to health problems we ordered a takeaway no problem ordering the guy read the order back to me all ok when delivered one meal was sent with chicken but all were meant to be lamb. no complaints about taste just don't understand why anyway my currie a lamb naga good but not as before and puri bread very oily shame but think I will be on the hunt for a good Indian takeaway in the area again. any suggestions welcome.

Last week orders from Miraj Indian food.fantastic for chi .chiii Gaelic&Keenan’s Rice.also starter onion bhaj.food was amazing.

Have used this takeaway numerous times and food has always been very tasty and delivered on time. Last night had family around and order 5 dishes 1 being vegetarian for non meat eater. Food arrived and on checking no vegetable biryani. Phoned up to complain/enquire regarding missing dish to be informed we never ordered. Staff then went on to call us liars saying they had read the order back to us 4 times which they never. Will not be back

Food is cold after waiting a while for it. Not the greatest quality. As i am regular customer, i know it could be so much better.

I have been a regular customer having the same curry every week over a period of last year but unfortunately since late November my favorite dish doesn't taste or smell the same anymore. We have been trying different curries over the last few weeks but they are all very average, lacking in this special something and full of oil. I am sorry to say but change of hands have not been very successful for Miraj. With regret, I think its time to make a decision and make my today's order the last one.

Our usual take away is closed at the moment (Jaipur) so tried this place. Ordered online which was easy & order took 1hr 15 mins to arrive. Food was not good. The chicken pakora batter was dry & tasteless, the butter chicken was like a chicken korma, nothing like a butter sauce at all, chicken tikka was lacking in spice, peshwari naan was sickly sweet & pilau rice was over cooked. Poppadoms & dips were good though!! Will not be ordering again as sadly most of our Xmas eve dinner went in the bin! Merry Xmas!

We ordered a takeaway from the Miraj and got delivery through Just Eat. Extensive on line menu, prices on par with what you would expect,delivery on time arranged, portions large and food enjoyable. Recommended

¡Probé esta comida por primera vez esta semana y la comida era EXCEPCIONAL! el mejor en Edimburgo. La comida era deliciosa, fresca y las raciones eran muy generosas. El hombre en la recepción fue muy agradable y servicial, se tomó el tiempo para recomendar platos y me hizo sentir como un cliente valioso. Recomiendo encarecidamente esta comida a cualquiera, 5 estrellas por comida y servicio al cliente. Definitivamente regresaré muy pronto.

Had popped in and ordered a Chicken Ceylon having had a hard day after helping our daughter move house.

Mi marido y yo hemos estado buscando un indio en nuestra zona por un buen rato, y normalmente son mejores. ordinarias El Miraj no! Todo lo que he probado (y hay unos cuantos platos especiales, que realmente no soportar esa descripción! ). Favoritos en particular son el pescado entrante tandoori - perfectamente cocinado! La salsa que te dan con el pakora - que es el mejor. Y la carne tandoori - siempre una gran calidad!

Starters were all poor. Old, inedible chicken pakora, king prawn butterfly contained only 1 king prawn, not the multiple advertised, and Bengal fish tikka starter was oily and soggy. Only saving grace was the prawn pathia. Was very disappointed after reading all of the positive reviews.

Pakoras were burnt. Got our order wrong.

Very friendly. Delivery guy was great, initially forgot the drinks but returned soon after and was very apologetic. Good food. Would recommend.

we always liked the taste of curry and I think curry from you are really good . The only thing i was not happy this time because I placed my orders at 1648 and required the delivery at 1930 , then I did not get it until 2030 . I understood this is Saturday and you are having a busy time , but come on , I ordered it 2 hours and half ahead and left you plenty of time to get them delivered on time ,but you guys still can not manage it ,that is disappointed .

Well. What can I say. Yeah they're effing brilliant. Always tasty, hot and on time.

The food was half an hour late and when arrived wrong, then had to wait for another 30 mis for missing food. there was no cutlery. considering the amount of money we spend at this place this is not acceptable.

Resturants need to advertise themselves as Bangladeshi resturants and not Indian restaurants. Curries were all horrible, worst lamb karhai i have ever had. Couldn't chee the lamb, it looked it pre cooked lamb was added in a karhai sauce! Mattar paneer was so yellow i mistook it for an on the house lentil soup!

Pompadoms stale. I ordered two and got about 6. Nan very very thick. The pakora were soggy and not fresh. Looks like the oil was old in the fryer. Curry was average, tasted cheap chicken. Probs one of the most disspointing deleverys for a long time. To top it off they sent me a irn bru with 59p on the can. But charged me full menu price £1.05 or something. A bit cheeky. We will defo never use them again.

I ate Indian often and this food does not deserve its name. We ordered butter chicken and chicken korma. it was just a creamy sauce. No difference between these two meals.

We have ordered many times from Miraj. This time was really disappointed. The original order was missing our naan bread and the poppadoms were very stale (more than just condensation from being delivered). I had pink areas in some of my chicken and I didn't feel safe eating it - the Ceylon curry was extremely sweet too, more than usual/expected. To be fair they sent out the forgotten naan and fresh poppadoms, but by the time it arrived we had lost our appetite and the whole delivery experience was disappointing. It's a shame as we're usually delighted with Miraj but the past couple of experiences haven't been the usual high standard we expect.

i order from miraj often and i am never disappointed! this was my first time ordering a biryani and it was absolutely delightful. order arrived ahead of time too which was great!

Best curry in Edinburgh, bursting with flavour and incredible value for money. It's no wonder this place has won so many awards. Couldn't recommend it enough!!

I love Indian food but because of some medical dietary restrictions, I often have to forego having it. I found some mild dishes on Miraj's menu and decided to take a gamble in the hope that they were truly mild. And my gamble paid off! Food was tasty, but mild as described, and everything was delicious. I'll definitely be ordering from Miraj again :o)

so good! chicken tikka massallam was fantastic and the naga was extremely hot (just as expected) and fantastic flavour. naga was hottest curry I've had in Edinburgh so far. definitely recommend this place and will definitely order again. good good for a good price

Excellent food once again and super quick delivery.

Ordered pilau rice but received boiled, my can of juice was covered in massallam, and the chicken was extremely fatty and chewy. Only thing i was really happy about was the quick delivery.

the Dahl is like soup, the rice was burnt, how that happened I have know idea and the chicken in both dishes was way over cooked. very poor after reading reviews that supposedly meant to be good, I will never order from this establishment again.

Food was warm and delivered quickly, with driver coming up to my door (I live on the 3rd floor). I didn't really enjoy some of the food however (the chicken tikka in naan in particular) but that could be a personal preference. Aloo chaat was yummy.

Another great meal cant fault a single thing wrong with this restaurant staff are very friendly and always kind. Foods always hot and taste keep up the good work. Wouldnt go anywhere else now thanks x

Honestly the worst curry I have had, if I could give zero stars I would have....absolutley zero taste, dry chicken, doughy naan bread, bland greasy rice and the chicken pakora....so bad, bone dry tasteless chicken covered in a greasy tasteless batter on the verge of being burnt. Free acompliments where ok and delivery time not too bad and delivery driver was polite and friendly. Hate leaving bad reviews but it's only fair I give an honest truthful view of our experience, very disappointed and a total waste of £25 (incl tip)

Food arrived piping hot but tasteless yet again really gone down hill here used to be good, wasted and ordered else where, tried to get refund but they wouldn't.spent a lot here every week at one point but started to go down hill and not ordered for a while so thought I'd give it a shot again I was shocked how bland it was.poor customer services !will never ever order again.

Changed recipe,, lamb and chicken dishes all bagged up with large pieces of potatoes, if I wanted a curried potato dish I would have asked for it !! Sadly a great takeaway ruined by filling dishes with veg.Hardly any meat at all , won't be ordering from them again .

Was disappointed in the food, the saag panneer wasn't in my opinion cooked correctly. And Puri wasn't served correctly. Not what I would expect from an Indian restaurant that's wan awards such as this one.. other than that they did add more time to the delivery time which was fine as it was a busy night and service was good.. it's just the food that disappointed is sadly.

Great curries, starter dishes undercooked and average

The delivery was half an hour later than the alloted time which was already an hour ten minutes from the time I placed the order. I like the restaurant's food, but when I called they offered me an apology, but not much else was done.

Best Indian takeaway in Edinburgh consistently.

Mutter Paneer and Massallam are too sweet. In Massallam dish, chillis could be seen, however couldn't be tasted.

Best it's ever been, Everything was roasting hot.. pakora to hot to eat at first. The curry dishes where spot on definitely be ordering again. Delivery driver was so kind It's nice when everything is brilliant you enjoy your meal better
