Great authentic food costing a reasonable price. Service was excellent and professional. Portions were generous too. Probably the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to on Long Island. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

Went to Mint yesterday and had such an incredibly delicious meal! Started with vegetable samosas which were crunchy and filled with flavor. I got the mango chutney to spread on Poori bread along with Paneer Makhni. My husband had sweet and sour chicken and enjoyed it thoroughly. I highly recommend this restaurant. Service was excellent and the cocktails were delicious.

This was probably the best Indian food I’ve had! I had the lamb tikka with the potato naan and it was not too spicy as most others, it was perfect! My fiancé had the tandoori chicken which i would never order due to how dry it is but this was perfect and juicy ! I actually wanted to steal some! Definitely eating here again.

My friend and I decided to eat here for the first time. When we sat down, I noticed that our silverware was on the table (not wrapped in a napkin) and when I picked it up, it stuck, slightly, to the plastic place mat they had down. While we were waiting for our food the 2 tables next to us finished their meals and left. I watched as one of the workers came over and cleared the table of all of the plates. Then he took the USED napkins and wiped the tables with them!!!! No spray, no disinfectant, just used, dirty napkins. What if the people blew their nose in the napkins or were sick and coughed in the napkins? This man just wiped all of that all over the table. My friend was convinced that he would come back and disinfect the table but this man came back with plates and silverware and set the table for the next guests (also setting the silverware on the table). I can't even talk about how mediocre the food was because this is not a review about the food. So disgusted. The health department needs to get to this place ASAP. When our food came to the table there was a big tablespoon stuck in the food (for twirling and / or scooping), we both used this spoon to eat our food with. If we weren't so hungry and it wasn't so late we would have found another place to eat. Never again.

What a wonderful experience! We just hosted a party on Mint’s rooftop and can’t say enough good things about our experience. The service, from first planning the menu with Gary to the interactions with with those who worked the event, was impeccable. They were true professionals—anticipating needs and being responsive, all with a smile. The food was utterly delicious—fresh, varied, and perfectly spiced. The rooftop itself with its brightly colored umbrellas and assorted seating alternatives put everyone in a festive mood. Our guests raved about everything! Many thanks to the excellent Mint team! We hope to host many more celebrations with your help.

After being in NYC for few days for business visit, was longing to have some Indian Chai for a change from Starbucks and Dunkins. We found this place on Google and paid a visit there. At first, they said they don't have chai, but they agreed to make it for us. After 10 mins we got a perfect chai served. The Aroma was so good and we felt nostalgic going back to India for a while. The taste and blend was perfect. This was the best Indian Chai I had in US. We then decided to take Chicken Korma and Tandoori chicken as well as take away. Firstly, it was a good and neat packing then we were blown away with the taste of Korma , we could actually feel the mix of cashews in it. A very nice place with great taste. Though the pricing is bit higher , I will definitely recommend this place for its taste.

Este restaurante muy grande de dos pisos al lado del centro comercial es muy popular con duchas y lo que no, pero un buffet recientes domingo era muy insulso y poco convincente para un restaurante suburbana de la India. We visited Mint 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed the meal, so we came back. Oh dear, it was a bit of a disaster overall. Very simple order - Poppadoms (all fine - but its no difficult), 1 x Korma (my wife is not really into spicy) and 1 x Chicken Madras and a vegetable dish. The food arrived and a dish that was very milky and obviously contained Lamb, was presented as the Chicken Madras. Er...no, its milky and has lamb. The server persisted several times - its the chicken madras. Having finally checked with a more senior server it was established this was the wrong dish and it was taken away and replaced by another dark dish - a chicken korma. I tried my chicken madras. That was very nice, but also Lamb. My wife tucked into her chicken korma, supposed to be mild, but it was very spicy - far more than the chicken (no, its lamb) madras. Given we were pushed for time, we changed dishes. I had her very spicy korma and she had my chicken / lamb madras. We pointed this out to the server, who was very apologetic and offered us free deserts, which we decided to take. So my wife selected a chocolate dish - not available. I asked for cheesecake - not available. Vanilla ice cream - not available. Vanilla Kolfie - not available. Get the idea? Anyway we did finish up with some free deserts after a long search. Anyway, in summary what we finished up with was actually nice, but apart from the poppadoms and the vegetable dish none of it was what we ordered. From observing other diners it seemed they were having a bad night. Food was going back as wrong, a couple near us had half the food delivered, but the husbands dish seemed to be missing. Not the best experience....

I guess, because of the indoor/outdoor, upstairs lounge that opens on the week ends, the rest of the restaurant has a "club-y" kind of vibe to it. You might not know you are in an Indian/Thai/Chinese restaurant from the looks of the wall-fountain, the back-lighting, the art, and the overall contemporary feeling. No piped-in, Bollywood muzak here, nor statues of Shiva, Ganesha, etc. Instead, there is blue, mood lighting, cool wall and ceiling art, light disco music playing, and yet, a hushed feeling to it all. Maybe the noise level goes up as more people arrive for dinner. I was a little disappointed at the paucity of Thai items on the menu, and personally, could have done without the confusion of Chinese items. There is a bar area downstairs, and we ate in the upper dining area. I found it curious, and maybe difficult for the wait staff that the kitchen is downstairs, so ALL plates, platters, drinks, etc. have to be brought up a fairly steep staircase by hand for those dining upstairs. In addition, to refill water pitchers, our waiter had to go outside, to the empty and dark lounge bar to get water from the fountain there. (Once winter comes, do they have to put on jackets to go outside to fill those pitchers?) Food was colorful, well-cooked, plentiful, and presented in appealing, white bowls and plates that add a sleekness to your meal. Our waiter came by often, refilled our water glasses, got us a much-desired dessert that he suggested might not be available (it was REALLY good), and explained to us a little about the flavorings in our food. We would come back here again.

I'll make it quick and easy. The food was not close in quality to what it should be for the price. My date and I ordered two completely different meals and they came out with the same exact curry-ish sauce. The server was nice but the service had no level of class. The type service where you are told to hang onto your dirty utensils after you had your appetizer. again for the price loin, not cool. Also, ordered a premium wine and, knowing wines pretty well, got ripped off. It tasted like wine from the big bottle, not the type you pay $11/glass for. Overall I got a stomach ache from the food and did not have a good experience, except for with the company I brought with me.

WARNING: Do NOT host an event here or even come to Mint for dinner. My sisters and I hosted a party there for my dads 60th birthday. We met with Gary (the owner) and Soni (the manager) who both made many promises but failed to deliver. Below is just a short list of what went wrong.1. Our biggest fear was that there would not be sufficient food for our party. Only four dishes with each item were brought for three large tables containing 23 people. It was very embarrassing because we had to continually ask for sufficient appetizers, entrees and desserts. There was such a large wait for more food that when it finally arrived, everyone didn't want to eat anymore because it was too late. The shortage of food was so disturbing that each individual was only able to get one gulab jamun and one ras malai. They completely missed the middle table and we had to get up and serve it so each person could get something. Some people didn't even get goat curry. We asked for more but it never got served. In addition, the lamb biryani was barely served. We literally paid for invisible food. Also, authentic chai was promised but they provided tea bag chai even though we explicitly asked for the authentic tea.2. The service was completely unacceptable. Drinks were not delivered on time. More importantly, we had no wait staff from 3 to 4:30 pm. No one was there to replenish all the empty glasses, to help serve the cake, chai and coffee. My sisters and I had to serve the cake, fake chai and coffee. When we cut the cake, the chai and coffee were not ready. It literally took 35 mins post cake cut to get chai and 45 mins to get coffee. We had to beg for milk for the coffee and not enough chai and coffee were made. It was totally embarrassing that we paid so much and there was no one there to serve it. Also, for the cake cutting, there were no forks. We had to ask repeatedly to get utensils. It is absolutely unacceptable that no wait staff were assigned solely for our event. 3. We said that we wanted mild food and the food was not up to par. The appetizers were salty and the food was spicy. Nothing discussed was adhered to. We went over this menu over and over again and discussed the preparation thoroughly and it was totally disregarded. We even came on Saturday to go over the details with Soni and it was to no avail. 4. Soni promised that he would be there for the set up and he was not present. The guy who was there was not well equipped on the needs of our party. My two sisters had to ask them to sweep the floor and to put cutlery on the table. The worst part was when we expressed these concerns to management at Mint after the event, they were NOT receptive to our feedback. They simply brushed these concerns under the table. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with this venue and would NOT recommend anyone coming here. Save your money and time and go to another establishment. If you have an event here - have everything written down first and put a refund clause into your contact. They will not want to do a contract but this is the only way to safeguard your event. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE! BETTER TO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE TO TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE.

I recently went to Mint for lunch on a weekday for the restaurant's all-you-can eat buffet. I found the buffet to be reasonably priced. There was a nice selection of Indian food available on the self-serve buffet tables -- vegetarian, chicken, and fish. Some of the dishes included chicken tikka masala (very tasty), chili chicken, fried fish (not so tasty; it was rather dry), tandoori chicken, aloo gobi mattar (a vegetarian selection made with cauliflower, peas, and potato served in a curry), rice, and dal makhni (black lentils and kidney beans cooked with tomato and spices). Salad, yogurt sauce, and various chutneys were also available on the buffet table. There were dessert selections too: rice pudding (good) and carrot pudding (very good). The service was unobtrusive and efficient. Naan bread was included with the meal. The restaurant is modern-looking on the inside, and it is located on the "outer circle" of Roosevelt Field shopping mall.

I usually don't bash places but my experience here was horrible. Every time I pass this restaurant I get furious. I wanted my 16th birthday on the rooftop because it is beautiful and there's no other place like it but the service was so horrible that it almost ruined my party! There were 50+ people which wasn't enough to have the whole roof so we split it which resulted in old pervs staring at my UNDERAGE friends and recording my entire party. When we told the manager, he said there was nothing he could do about it. Then when we tried to increase the volume so people could start dancing, the workers kept lowering it. They told us they had a volume limit but everytime I pass by, the music is blaring and you can hear the music from inside the mall. The staff is so rude and disgusting. They need to teach their staff that it is not okay to hit on girls, especially if they're underage. The bathroom was disgusting and there were dirty plates and filled garbage bags by the cabanas. No teenager wants to eat next to that. It was so unorganized and they almost forgot that I was having my party there! The food and venue was great but it was definitely not worth all that money and anger. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Once you get up there, it is decent with individual sitting area. The cushions on the large chair are very soft and you sink down. So, if you have knee problems or difficulty getting up, be forewarned. For that reason, we decided to go downstairs and sit at a proper table. The menu was good but overpriced for the portions. Once the watier took our order, it took over an hour for food to come and it did not come all at once. Meaning all appitezier and main entree dishes did not come once and one of the dishes was forgotten until the end. The bathrooms were very dirty. No napkins, and water on the floor everywhere. This place should change their name to STINKS. My wife and I decided to try Mint in Garden City, L. I., New York. We were there for the buffet lunch. If you want good Indian food try Akbar -it's nearby. Don't waste your money at MInt . The parking lot was completely packed and they had a valet service. We had to pay for parking. Mint had a birthday party scheduled complete with loud music, and screaming kids. Mint has a open concept, so we had to endure unwanted noise, and I mean toddlers shrieking at the top of their lungs. We were placed on the second floor in this tiny area. Our table wobbled to the point my dish almost landed in my lap. The buffet had some trays that had no sign, so if you have a food allergy it could be hazardous. The waiter,R. Rashon, looked like he did not want to be there. He acted more like he was doing us a favor. We sat with dirty dishes on our table to the point where we got fed up waiting for the waiter to pick up our dishes. Then he disappeared for about ten minutes and we were forced to wait until this character returned to ask for the check. This restaurant is poorly managed. The staff, with the exception of the valet parking attendant, lacks people skills. Plus the place is over priced- I rated this restaurant poor. Don't throw out good money here- avoid this place.

Not sure why this restaurant qualifies as an authentic Indian restaurant. Food tasteless but expensive. I caught where they added $15. Administrative Fee to my check so then did not leave an tip, just noted "included" I can fully understand why Akbar (the other Indian Restaurant in Garden City is rated near the top of the list for the area while Mint is close to the bottom.I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews before visiting.Never again.

Probably been there about 20 times now since they opened a few years back. The buffet is a good deal if you like variety. Everything I've ordered from the menu is pretty good, my favorites are garlic naan (excellent) and chicken tiki Marsala. My husband always gets the biryanis. This place is not cheap but it's conveniently located by the mall. If you want to give them a try you may find deals online. We've used coupons there a couple of times and the service was still good and friendly. We have a toddler so we don't usually eat during peak times anyway.

Last night my daughter and I used an amazon local coupon to have dinner at Mint. I paid $40 for $80 worth of food which did not include alcoholic drinks. (This was clearly stated on the voucher so we knew that drinks would be extra). My daughter even said to the waiter, "We know that the drinks are not included in our deal." We ordered an app to share, bryani rice, vegetable korma and Chilean sea bass. After we ordered our drinks, (very expensive, $12 each), a gentleman, maybe a manager, came to our table and barked, "The drinks are not included in your deal! Also don't order from this page!" He pointed to the tandoori page of the menu which had the more expensive dishes. The rest of the servers were very polite and professional. The food was not great. We didn't care for the appetizer, but that's a matter of taste. There was nothing wrong with the preparation. The fish was not fresh. We tasted it and left it alone. The vegetable korma was good. The rice was spicy but good. The naan bread, which was a few dollars extra, was very good. The hostess of this restaurant was lovely. I would return for the lunch buffet, which is reasonable, but I wouldn't come here for dinner, because of the price.A few months ago, my son brought me to Mint for lunch. I recommend Mint for the lunch buffet. They serve a variety of dishes, including a delicious fish dish.

Went to Mint to try it during the lunch buffet. Food is not very good. How do you ruin tandori chicken? It was poor quality and tasteless. The Nan bread was bland, did not have that roasted butter flavor found at quality restaurants we have been to. Overall, the food was not flavorful in terms of spice or taste. We will not be back.

It is by the Roosevelt field mall. It has a nice, cozy bar. Nice ambiance. Food was average. Service was kind of slow but overall, OK. Nice for a change trying different restaurants but probably would not go back again.

The only reason they get a 4 star rating is because we were 7 friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the laid back seating and no interference attitude of the staff. We are chatty and slow when we all get together and we have had some rough experiences in other restaurants when we took too long to order or kept talking for long afterwards. Food was good, it was delivered verrrrry slow (we did not care, but if you are hungry you would be turned off). Desserts were tasty as well. A lot of big groups had come for celebrations, and they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the lounge ambiance, so did we.Parking is a hassle too, despite the valet.

My first time to Mint which is conveniently located to shopping area, the ambiance, decor and overall atmosphere was great. Went for a baby shower that was held in the back section of the restaurant, and while everything was done well and service was great, food was lacking for me. The cuisine is Indian oriented and the tandoori chicken was very good but that was about the only thing I liked besides dessert of mango mousse. I only wish the food tasted better in its variety offered.

I dined at Mint with a friend recently and had a rather interesting experience. The restaurant is beautiful and modern looking on the outside, and the decor is nice as well. The service started out OK, but soon after the appetizers came out (which were pretty good -- though "Wings from Heaven" are misnamed), it went downhill -- fast. I ordered chicken tikka masala, which was mostly flavorless. They charged $17.95 for a tiny bowl -- no rice, no nuthin'. Really? And that was one of the cheaper dishes! I don't mind spending money on good food, but seriously, that's nonsense. To Mint Management: Rice is cheap! Are you kidding me?After a half hour of waiting for drinks to be refilled, the waiter kept running away. No one would make eye contact, and getting the check was a massive undertaking. Oh, and if you order a double espresso, you might get two little espressos. Because that's just what you wanted, right? You might want to note also that the place turns into some kind of club around 10-10:30 on the weekends. Chicks walking around half naked and all that. Good times! So my friend and I will never go back, but at least we laughed about it the whole ride home.

We celebrated my dad's 75th birthday at MINT over the weekend. Since this was my first visit, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, as it turned out, we had a fabulous and very memorable dining experience, thanks to the excellent service provided by Praveen and the rest of the staff. Many thanks to the owner, Gary, he was very flexible and easy to work with; he suggested family style dining, which worked out very well for our party of 27 and allowed everyone to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes and desserts; The wine and beer selections which was included in the fixed price per person, were excellent too!The restaurant has a beautiful modern decor. Overall, I highly recommend MINT if you have a special occasion that you want to enjoy and remember for to years to come. All our requests were met and the food and service was beyond our expectation...we would definitely be back!

Okay...Right off the bat, I have to say I usually don't go nuts for Indian food. That said, Mint has changed my whole outlook. The food here is a singularly fantastic experience. Four of us ooohd and ahhhd through our appetizers of crispy fish Kohliwada, lamb seekh kebabs, and grilled scallops as we sipped on a very reasonably priced bottle of Chandon. Entrees were Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Prawns, Coriander Chicken in Garlic Sauce, and Goat Curry accompanied by a splendid argentinian cabernet. I ordered the Coriander Chicken and it was superb! Spicy and flavorful. Not to miss out on any of the experience, we all sampled each other's selections and I must say everything tasted wonderful. The goat was an absolute hit with everyone. Service was excellent and our server was extremely helpful in assisting our menu selections. The appetizers and entrees took a little longer than you'd expect. But I got the feeling that this was intentional. They wanted us to sit and enjoy and not be rushed. Overall, we were there about an hour and 45 minutes and any less would not have afforded us enough time to savor the experience. Four entrees, three appetizers, two orders of nan, and two bottles of wine came to $200 or about $50/head....not cheap, but certainly worth the money. I cannot recommend Mint too highly! And we'll definitely comeback....seems they have a weekday buffet (yum!).

My wife and I went to Mint Restaurant in Garden City to celebrate my Birthday. We did have a buffet lunch there and the food is excellent. I specially liked the Tomato Fish curry and tandoor chicken. The naan ( Indian bread) was tasty and we ate the all the naans with the gravy and curries. I would recommend this restaurant for some one who is interested in eating curried fish and tandoor items!

We recently hosted our baby shower at Mint Indian Restaurant in Garden City. The roof top dining location is a must. Very beautiful, tropical atmosphere with individual cabanas for guests. We heard that the roof top location is where they also have happy hours and special events during the warmer weather. We were provided a food tasting before our event which was beneficial because it allowed us the ability to experiment with items we would have otherwise not tasted before. The food was excellent, the chicken tikki masala is a typical Indian dish and it was cooked to our tastes, not too spicy and was delicious. The Goan Fish Curry was also excellent, and was a special surprise. The staff was very accommodating but we felt a bit rushed at times. Perhaps they could benefit from some more customer relations training as I understood that the restaurant opened recently. On a separate occasion I remember waiting a long time to give the waiter our order and be served. Overall, this restaurant is a great, hip, location, perfect for parties, a few drinks with friends or families (would recommend at earlier hours). A bit pricy for Indian food but the atmosphere makes it worth it. Great addition to the Garden City area.

The food is definately delicious but I felt like it took a while to come out and it was pretty overpriced. It bothered me that they charged for rice, $5 at that for a very average sized portion, not enough for more than one person in my opinion. It is decorated trendy with the colored lights always changing to give it a city-feel. There is a rooftop bar/lounge area that I did not go out on because I figured what was the point? I don't really need a view of the mall parking lot. There are so many quality Indian restaurants in Hicksville, it isn't really necessary to go here.

went here twice, both times it was a disaster. the service was horrible, over an hour waiting for food... so we got up and left. on top of that, valet gave us keys (without the car) and actually asked for a tip. the appetizers were good (but late, about an hour after ordering) and the drinks (that i had to go the bar and get) were good, but the service was so bad I can't recommend this place at all. now there's buffet for lunch and dinner... this place is going down in flames - thank god.

The restaurant looks beautiful on the outside. The interior is well decorated. The service was horrible. They switched waiters every couple of minutes and kept forgetting what we ordered. We were a group of 8 people. When they poured water for each of us there were random objects floating in ALL of the glasses. Once we placed our order we waited over an hour to be served and an additional 20 minutes just to receive the check. If you are in search of authentic Indian cuisine, do not patronize this restaurant as you will be sorely disappointed. it was also very over priced. It averages about $60 per person and that doesn't include dessert.

Popped in for a roast beef bap and they were just about to clean and pack away the pans, as it was after normal lunch hours. They still offered to make it, fried off the fresh onions and heated the beef up in the pan. The bap was cut in half and presented well, in a box. Perfect for my partner, who is a driver and needs to eat on the go. He said it was absolutely delicious, asked where it was from and was so grateful after a late lunch break during a 12 hour shift. Thank you! I visited last week for a sausage roll too, which was packed full of meat, really tasty and served hot. They also serve jacket potatoes and hot pies at reasonable prices. Great selection of deli items, frozen pastries, ice cream, cakes, condiments etc. So much choice for a small place. Read some reviews that customer service isn’t good, but both times I’ve been in, staff were polite, efficient and chatted. No complaints from me and will definitely go back.
