There really is (no subs)titute for this place. Hands down the best breakfast place in the area + I can also vouch for their roast

I'm pleasantly surprised by how good this place is! I've come here on Sunday 01/03/20 morning looking for a vegan, gluten free breakfast without any expectations, but the gentleman at the deli was so kind and he has really taken his time going through every single option they have. I really appreciate it and I'll definitely be coming back :)

It's so lovely to have somewhere in Kensal to relax with a glass of wine and some nibbles. Kensal has some great pubs and restaurants but sometimes I really want something a little more chilled: thank you Minkies for providing this. I think I might be become a more regular regular now!

We had an amazing dinner at Minkies on Friday night! It’s only just started opening in the evenings and well worth a try - the food is delicious and there’s a great choice of wines. The atmosphere was lovely - candlelit, chilled but fun with great staff. My favourites were the cauliflower pakoras, lamb kebab and the Asian broccoli but everything my partner had too was spot on. Great night, thank you!

So happy that minkies are now open in the evenings! Have been bringing my three year old religiously at weekends as we both love the breakfasts (poached egg and avacado every time!) but my wife and I went last Friday evening for the first time and it was superb - we particularly enjoyed the goats cheese and courgette bruschetta and the lamb kebab - so so good! Cracking little place, great vibes, excellent food and super friendly staff. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Headed down to this gem of a cafe/bar to check out their new evening openings from Thursday - Saturday. Loving the welcoming and relaxed feel and menu but with an air of class/civility about it - definitely a must for a “local” feel cafe bar where the staff are well versed to the offerings without unnecessary pressure, and the food lends itself to sharing with a well selected but uncomplicated range of wines and beers - this place is a refreshing change to the standard that appears everywhere else within north west London.

So thrilled that my favourite brunch stop is now open for Dinner - Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays Great atmosphere Great food (especially the truffle macaroni croquettes) Great wine Great staff We’ll definitely be back very soon.

Just got out of Kensal Rise station and noticed the lights on in my fav deli / cafe in Kensal. Cheeky after work glass of wine with some very tasty nibbles. Loved the Asian broccoli and the lamb flatbread. Glass of barbera went really well with it.

We have a 3 month old baby and had my sister and her 4 year old visiting us so we didn’t want a busy pub environment so we decided to go to Minkies which we knew is a lovely family run business. We arrived at around 6.30pm on a rainy evening (yes rain in August, the great British summer never fails!) and we were greeted by friendly staff with big smiles who made us feel welcome. We had our bulky pram in toe and were given a spot where we could have the pram close to us so I could still see my sleeping baby. Although it was fairly early, the atmosphere was buzzing and it was getting busier, but the service didn’t disappoint, we were given menus straight away and asked if we wanted any drinks. We ordered a selection of the sharing plates, which came out quickly and were very tasty. So tasty we ordered more!! We didn’t get chance to try everything and I had plate envy from the near by table, so we will definitely be going back to try the rest. Next time I plan to leave my partner and baby at home and take my girlfriends for a few drinks instead :)

I just went for dinner and it was delicious. It has such a rustic charm, the team is wonderful, and the food is SO flavourful. I couldn't recommend it more. I imagine many of my future nights to be spent there.

Throughly enjoyed our meal at Minkes, the setting is perfect for a relaxed casual meal and the food was delicious. Kids could not get enough of the macaroni and cheese croquettes. The Lamb Kebab was tender and succulent topped with mouth watering mint source. We just had to order a second round of the delicious grilled aubergine. The staff were super helpful and friendly ensuring we were well looked after. A perfect Saturday night out. Great value for money.

Minkies is my deli of choice during the day, they serve the best coffee in Kensal Rise, but now I can enjoy the friendly vibe in the evenings too.. I went on launch night and was wonderful. The chargrilled broccoli in teriyaki reduction and the Mac n cheese croquets were my favourite, but all the food was amazing, all served with kindness by Ollie and his team. If you want to go somewhere which is not a pub or restaurant, that feels like a home from home, put Minkies Deli on your list to try I think only open on Thur, Fri and Sat eves. Highly recommended.

Visited one evening to try the evening fare. Despite being busy the service was good, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. They have a small range of booze to wash it all down with. Great little place.

Everyone knows Minkie's Deli. Whether you are grabbing a quick coffee on the way to the train in the morning, or having a lunch with a friend, or simply getting some snacks for the kids after school, you'll always find it at Minkie's Deli. Good and honest food, friendly staff. Recommended for sure!

I have visited regularly for many years but am increasingly disappointed. The staff are unfriendly bordering on rude - this morning on my way to work I thought I would call in for breakfast. What a mistake! - the door was open - foolishly I walked in - not having double checked the exact time. I was literally yelled at - ‘ go away we are not open - 2 minutes’ and as I - slightly stunned- backed away the door was slammed in my face! At the prices charged I will not be in a hurry to return which is a shame as I literally live 2 minutes away.

There is an excellent choice of places to eat and drink in Kensal Rise but this is the one with the best view as you can watch the world go by from inside or out. The do a decent cup of tea too.

Popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for 3 courses. oops. Couldn't resist the delicious menu which suited me and the kids. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Everything about it hit the spot. Wonderful and independent. Highly recommended.

Vivo localmente, y solía evitar este lugar a toda costa cuando estaba bajo su antigua administración, era simplemente horrible. Sin embargo, la nueva administración ha hecho algunos cambios enormes, y ahora es uno de mis lugares favoritos para el desayuno, el café para llevar o un almuerzo ligero. El servicio es muy bueno también. Creo que es el mejor lugar para tomar un café en Chamberlayne Road.

Sono stata in questo locale un paio di volte e sono sempre rimasta soddisfatta. Ho provato sia il bagel che il sandwich al salmone per il brunch e croissant e milkshake a colazione. La mia bevanda preferita del locale è il mixed berry smoothie. Non ci sono tanti posti per sedersi ma finora siamo sempre stati fortunati

Acabo de ir a Minkie esta mañana. No he estado por un tiempo, pero hay un nuevo menú y la comida ha subido varias muescas, tenía un tazón de ai increíble que recomiendo encarecidamente. También visto que ahora tienen hamburguesas en el menú que es emocionante. Genial, excelente comida y muy buena relación calidad-precio. De ahora en adelante, esto será algo habitual. . . !

He estado viniendo a Minkies por mucho tiempo. Casi 10 años. El ambiente y la ubicación siempre han sido maravillosos aquí, mientras que la comida siempre fue buena. Pero la semana pasada vine por primera vez con los nuevos propietarios y probé el nuevo menú por primera vez. La comida ha subido varios niveles. ¡El desayuno inglés completo que solía ser una de las comidas más débiles en el menú ahora es uno de los más fuertes! Fue tan sabrosa y satisfactoria. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente.

Ho provato la colazione in questo localino molto carino e in cui è piacevole anche stare per lavorare. Lo consiglio :)

I travelled to London to visit friends. At around 9:30am on Friday 31st August we popped into Minkies cafe for breakfast after being attracted in by exterior and clear regard for healthy good food.

Just had a really lovely breakfast as a family in Minnie’s. The cinnamon and vanilla pancakes were a real treat for my 4 year old- covered in Nutella of course ! Highly recommend this place. Enjoy!

Shocked to see it under new ownership, but it all feels the same and good quality as ever. Fab fresh juices, good coffee, great salad bar and the best brekkie in town. Great little spot and super tasty.

Not been in for a long time but met up for a coffee which was excellent. Previously I have been a bit disappointed but they have raised their standard. Also the food looks excellent and not too expensive.

Nunca había estado en Minkies bajo su antigua dirección. Está en una excelente ubicación, en Kendal Rise. Entorno agradable, ventanas por todas partes. Mi esposa tenía el aguacate roto en masa fermentada tostada y un huevo escalfado, tuve los huevos revueltos orgánicos en bagel tostado y mi hijo tenía los mini huevos revueltos y tostadas. Todo estuvo delicioso. Soy de la ciudad de Nueva York y estaba un poco nerviosa por pedir un bagel, pero fue realmente bueno. Todos sus panes tienen un sabor recién hecho. Su pan de masa fermentada me recuerda la masa fermentada que se obtiene en pequeños cafés en Portugal.

I visited Minkies recently with some friends and the improvements made by the new owners have really paid off. It’s a lovely atmosphere and the coffee, sandwiches and cakes were great. The new owners were really warm and welcoming, and the service from all was pleasant. A great independent local cafe.

Organic must mean limp and cold. The bacon seemed like it had been cooked earlier and warmed up. The beans were cold. They need to take the word 'builder'out of that title as any builder receiving that meal with 8 hours of graft ahead of him would not be pleased. At £7.50 this is appalling. No wonder Costa is cleaning up everywhere.

I am a local and stopped going to Minkie's a couple of years ago as I found the service to be generally quite surly and the food poor, but I regrettably gave it another go recently as it's a local and I thought perhaps it might have improved. I can only imagine that it is the great location that continues to attract people, because it cannot be the food (which is still poor) or the service, which I'll come on to. On this visit, I was handed greasy cutlery, which had chunks of old food stuck to it, which was really unpleasant. When I went to get it replaced by the (apologetic) kitchen staff, it was snatched out of my hands by the cashier, who then chucked it in the sink and then flounced back to her till, without a word to me or her kitchen staff. So impolite. I honestly don't know how they get away with it, when there are so many great alternative options close by. I won't be going back.

Ubicación, Ubicación, ubicación significa que este popular deli tiene clientes habituales, pero el café no es tan bueno como debería ser. Mucho del énfasis en repostería, lo cual está bien, pero sería bueno tener una selección más grande de ensaladas y carne o pescado en particular algunos como el excelente carnicería en la carretera.

He dado este lugar unos posibilidades ya que es local, pero lamentablemente, no es un sitio que se corriendo para algo más que un café. . Esta vez tuve algunos tocino, huevos, frijoles y pan tostado. El tocino era increíblemente grasos. Para mí si es de ácidos grasos también puede cortar o cocinar un poco más, ya que seguramente nadie puede estómago tocino esponjosa grasa! La placa también era pequeño, así que era una lucha para mantener la comida en el plato!

Cibo dalla qualità scarsa, caffè terrificante. Il locale sarebbe veramente bello con un potenziale enorme in quanto si trova all'uscita della overground a kensal rise. I croissant alla mandorla sono buoni.

Fuimos a por el desayuno hoy Minkie y tenía la truncó aguacate y huevos escalfados sobre una tostada. La comida era sosa y fría y el piso y mesa estaban sucios. No volvería con prisas y sin duda probar otro plato.

Desayunamos aquí un par de veces y tenía algunas escasas experiencias. El aguacate es demasiado final quebrado a menos que desee comer con el salmón ahumado y entonces está bien, pero cuando comen en su propio es difícil comer. El pan de banana está bien, pero se suponía que iba a ser caliente y no estaba, así que era un poco duro para comer.

Mi compañero preguntó la señora que el café si tenían salsa caliente para que ella era respondió a "No sé, no soy la cocina está claro que sólo hacer café" en vez de decir que me dejaron. La cocina era de unos cuatro pies de distancia de ella. Ella podría haber simplemente les pedimos.

Me encanta visitar Minkie cuando necesito escapar. El personal es siempre muy acogedor y hablador. Café y divina cannoli.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat after a long walk with the dog. The cafe was quite busy for a weekday but it was summer and a gorgeous day... I had the chicken, avocado and tomato sandwich which was absolutely delicious- adding the mustard made it something unique. The service was excellent, top marks to the manager! Looking forward to my next visit and try another of their mouthwatering sandwiches!

When this place opened (I am guessing 15 years ago) I used to come here as it was the only place in Kensal Rise that did decent coffee. Now it still has that same great view to watch the world go by but the coffee has fallen behind other places within a stone's throw and the service is not particularly welcoming.

The place looks great and promises a lot with it's tasty looking selection of food & drink. However the toasted mozzarella & tomato croissant I ordered was brought to me burnt on a plate with no napkin. I'm quite bad at complaining but this was so bitter I had to return it. Second time round the croissant was slightly less burnt and the filling was stone cold. At least they managed to bring me a napkin this time! Maybe they need a new toasting machine or train their staff to use it properly. Personally I got the impression they didn't care enough to get it right.

Poor service, staff not friendly at all and on top of that a long wait time. Coffee was nice enough but no better then the plenty of alternatives with great service!

I'm not a coffee drinker, most of the time I have to add a tonne of sugar (that might be a slight exaggeration) but the coffee I had here - didn't need to doctor it at all!This coffee shop/deli is really conveniently located pretty much next door to Kensal Rise station. No view to speak of, it is set back off the pavement so ideal for people watching I would imagine.Staff were friendly and the service was quick. The prices seemed comparable with the likes of Costa,Nero etcetera - but as I said at the beginning of this review the coffee was far superior (IMO). If in the area I would definitely stop in here again.

Its all so pretty looking with attractive displays, fresh bread in baskets, yummy cakes; a miscellany of wooden tables and and chairs, yet there is something slightly about taking you - the customer for granted - and really poor value for money. So yes if its fresh bread you are after in a convivial atmosphere with good coffee. come here, but check the price board before eating....

I live nearby. one dday decided to explore the neighbourhood. really enjoyed my afternoon sipping a very good coffee and having little pastries at Minkie's Deli. it's a small coffee shop so it was a bit tight but I took a sit a bar chair facing the street so secured my own space. the service was pleasant, nice that they bring the coffee to the table... the toilet could have been a bit cleaner. I will go back and try their sandwiches or salads (I saw them being served, looked yummy!!!)

We were exploring Kensal Rise one Saturday afternoon after reading about it in the paper. There wasn't too much to do or see, so after checking out the shops in Chamberlayne Rd, we headed here for a drink before leaving. We sat on the stools inside by the window after ordering at the counter. We ordered coffees, plus some cakes. The Portuguese tart with blueberries was lovely, as was the orange cake. It was reasonably priced and all very good, but could do with some more comfortable seating.

Minkie's deli is definitely one of my favourite places to visit in London. I come here regularly, and by now the staff know me by name. I have always been served excellent food, and the coffee is by far the best in the area. Great service, would recommend it to anyone!

Service was shocking!!! Not friendly at all! As I arrived staff were arguing between themselfs as I waited to be served. I ordered a dry cap and what I got was far from what I was expecting. Very disappointing!!

Minkie's looks great - it has nice arrangements of pastries and fruit on display - but it always disappoints. It has the feel of a place that was briefly in vogue and is now just coasting. The coffee is completely average - I find nothing to recommend it over any franchised coffee outlet or even low-end places. I have searched it in vain for evidence of taste. I've only ever eaten pastries from there, but they've usually been stale. What makes all this even worse is that it all carries the price tag of a genuinely quality place. But after giving it four chances I won't be fooled again.

Average coffee, portions steadily diminishing, but somehow this place is still brilliant. I think it's the location personally...which is a work of genius by the owner. Apparently there was nothing there before! Service is great if you build up rapport, perfectly good if you've never set foot in the place...anywhere can have a bad moment...lots of yummy mummies with large pushchairs at the weekends so if you're looking for a quiet brunch spot for some reading/writing/contemplating you might find Minkies a bit too hectic...but give it a shot! It has a nice energy, and along with Comptoir Mezze is the jewel in the crown of Kensal...

I have been coming here on occasion since this place opened its doors some years ago. I have always found the food to be rather expensive but the coffee is always good and there is nowhere better to sit and read a paper or watch the world of Kensal Rise go by.

I grabbed a small plate for the salad bar and was charged £7! They didn't weigh it despite on the sign saying they would and the guy walking past just said 'with your juice lets just call it a tenner' nonchalantly as if it was a bargain. All the salad was drenched in oil and the veggies all hugely overcooked - just slimy anti pasti. Very disappointing. The staff were also grumpy and were right next to me openly taking the mick out of another customer, and calling him tight,as he had said their salad was abit overpriced. I agree with him! It used to have a great reputation but it seems now it's just got a bit big for its boots and abit cocky. There are much better places to go in the area now. So save your pennies and have a nicer experience by going elsewhere

Good quality breakfast/brunch, if a little over-priced, and it's a great location on a sunny morning. Sadly, though, it's staffed by 20-something wannabe hipsters who are waaaay too cool to be polite or welcoming to customers. There are loads of great cafes & delis in the area, so why go Minkie's where the staff can't be bothered to look you in the eye or say "please" and "thank you"?

This place is quality - excellent breakfast: eggs seasoned perfectly, toast nice and lightly done (with great bread), and bacon cooked to perfection. The chocolate brownie and banana cake are also top notch and the coffee is brilliant also. They play classic FM in the background which on the whole gives it a nice relaxed feeling on a sunday.

J'habite dans ce quartier, et quand je veux passer un moment sympa je vais chez Minkie's, souvent avec mon ordi pour profiter de leur wifi et de leur musique classique (toujours radio classique!). Leurs bagels sont super bons, ainsi que leurs gâteaux amande-orange! Le service est bien aussi, il leur est arrivé d'oublier ma commande mais il faut dire qu'il y a beaucoup d'affluence, et souvent des familles avec petits enfants. Il y a aussi un coin épicerie, des produits frais, bio, du bon pain, des bagels etc. Je m'y achète une petite gâterie de temps à autres.

Every time I need to bring croissant to my girlfriend in early morning, I go there, they are pleasant and fine with all.Today I've also tried the new little west hampsted one, and the guy I've made for me the best soy cappuccino that I've ever tasted in London... Bad luck. That’s all it was. It’s not as if Minkie's Deli is an unpleasant place. It has the bohemian charm of a genuine New York deli, and is full of interesting choices for breakfast or lunch most of which seemed very desirable as they floated past me to eager punters. It’s just that my choice was the wrong one.“The Classic” is smoked salmon and cream cheese and as they had run out of rye bread, I opted for the bagel.I didn’t know at the time of ordering that their bagels came from a nice little baker from downtown Lilliput. It was the size of those “cocktail bagels” you fight for at receptions at sprauncy Barmitzvahs and weddings in Park Lane hotels to keep your hunger pangs at bay before the gargantuan dinner. Only you wouldn’t take just one, because just one would be an insult to your digestive juices and not worth their time on a weekend. You’d take two or three and chow down on a couple of mini-kebabs just to be safe.My classic bagel was that size. The sigh of disappointment when it arrived could be heard as far as Golders Green. The salmon was good, the cream cheese was “well creamy” as the kids say, but the whole was a let-down…especially as it weighed in at £4.95.Maybe this was a mistake. Maybe this bagel should have been thrown back into the Sea of Bagels so it could grow to adulthood before being served to hungry humans.But this was no mistake. When I mentioned to the manager that they serve the smallest bagels ever made he said “Yes, they are pretty small, aren’t they ? ”Not “Oh I’m sorry, you got one of the minnows by mistake” or “Oh dear, we normally serve two of them as a single portion. I won’t charge you for it.”No, I got a bald-faced acknowledgement that their bagels were 3 genteel bites worth at most and tough luck on me for ordering it.So I’m not saying don’t drop into Minkie's deli for a bite to eat, I’m saying if you want more than a bite then avoid the bagels.

Won't say their coffee or tea are superb, but i really like the atmosphere and their small savory puff pastries.Larger food selection which is now available (still have'nt tried it though) and longer operating hours are a big plus.If i need to meet soneone in this area, that would certainly be a favourable option.

If you enjoy sitting in what used to be a public loo and want to eat overpriced out of date food this is your place! They rip you off as the pricelist is nowhere to be found and make up the prices as they go along.Pretending to serve you delicious food!

Nice restaurant for people watching but slightly overpriced

Minkie's always has good coffee, that's primarily what I order here. Good opportunity for tasty coffee, lazy reading of the news, and maybe a little people-watching outside too.

Sandwiches muy ricos con productos de muy buena calidad. Ambiente muy agradable y servicio eficaz y amable. WIFI gratis. Dulces para chuparse los dedos.
