Overall very underwhelming experience, found the meal very average along with the staff not very interactive with the customers to say the least ! Also very keen to take your order before you have even had time to read through the menu. Wont be rushing back anytime soon.

I have been visiting this restaurant for many years and enjoy the takeaway. I used to eat in regularly, but I have noticed that the restaurant side is less popular these days and is very empty. This is such a shame as the food in here is always excellent.

Food was pleasant but there was no welcome at all from the staff when entering the restaurant. No chopsticks. No knives. No enjoy your meal. No, is everything ok with your meal. No thank yous. No goodbye when we left.

The Kung Po Chicken was very tasty but I feel the staff could try to be more friendly. Fast service. Is the food cooked fresh while you wait or simply heated up in a microwave

Went for a meal out with 5 friends last night for a catch up. First the positive ~ food was very nice, piping hot and plentiful. Now for the actual experience ~ entered the restaurant and said hello to the lady who was at the back of restaurant, was taken aback when I was grunted at. Sat down with friends and was very much pressured into ordering immediately, we were seated at the back of restaurant near the kitchen so we were being stared at the entire time…. really uncomfortable and resulted in lots of nervous laughter. Ordered food but really felt like an inconvenience. As I said food was nice. Drinks are very expensive (£4.70 for a lime and lemonade!) Food put on table with no chat, no enjoy your meal etc. Stared at again throughout meal. We split the bill and as some of us had had more we calculated what we had all had, the lady was ok up until the last person was paying and pretty much shouted at one of my friends! Coats on and exited pretty quickly, Will NOT be returning or recommending to anyone. Really need some training in customer service definitely! Avoid if dining in!!

Nice food (well what we got) but service was atrocious! 1hr 15 mins to have a starter the food we ordeed half came out then 20 mins later still no sign of other food by which time the stuff they had bought was freezing cold.. No apology for delay by any of the staff. Yes they were busy but if they had of advised there may be a delay I’d have understood, or bring all food out to our table at same time would have helped. May be just a 1 off but not a nice experience

Been coming to this Chinese for years with family. Cannot believe people are posting bad reviews! Honestly, you won’t find a better Chinese with such welcoming staff! I travel from Birmingham for the Roast duck with plum sauce, highly recommend.

We had been put off by some reviews, however as its local we decided to give it a try. We hadn't eaten in here for at least 4 years. We had the set meal for 2 , which was absolutely perfect. Couldn't fault anything. Service was very good too.

I'll never order food from Minhs again. I ordered vegetarian curry on NYE & found some type of meat in it. I rang to complain & they offered me another meal which I turned down as I will not risk it again. Last year I also ordered from them asking for no mushrooms as I'm allergic but yes, I got mushrooms! Someone else in my family had to eat it then. No more chances! They didn't seem particularly concerned about my complaint either.

Awful customer service Young lads with no training. Food very bland and no flavour. Tired looking restaurant Awful toilets with cobwebs. Never said goodbye or asked if our meal or experience was good. No happy new year. Will not be going back under any circumstance

Where to start, no customer service whatsoever. Asked for salt and the young lad never came back with any instead he’s outside having a cigarette 🙈 no one asked if our meal was ok. Only 6 other people in restaurant. Only young lad and young girl serving. The young girl spent more time proving up the post. Paid and lad walked away, no one said goodbye. Don’t know what’s has happened in the last 3/4 months buts it’s really gone downhill. Wouldn’t recommend and definitely won’t be going there again.

Excellent pre-cinema dinner, best chicken satay skewers I've had for a long time and generous portion. Hot and sour soup was hot spicy and with good mixture of prawns/meat instead of tofu. Food came very quickly, which I was grateful for as traffic had delayed my arrival. Shown to a spotlessly clean table, service polite and efficient with minimum chatting - but nice courteous people.

Crispy shredded beef, they should be done under the trade descriptions act. They were incredibly chewy, by far the worst I’ve ever had 🥴 Recently moved to the area and was delighted to see Minhs, there used to be one in Penkridge years ago that used to be lovely. What a very tired unloved place this, I had a takeaway and so pleased I wasn’t eating in. Unfortunately the crispy shredded beef was far from it, was incredibly chewy and I had to leave it, the sauce was nice but that’s it. Now looking at other reviews there is a disproportionate of “terrible “ so I’m not the only one. What a shame, I now need to find somewhere else 🤨

The food here is very good, lovely and hot and very tasty. The staff are also pleasant. Personally I think it is rather pricey but in general a very nice meal

Really enjoyed a very tasty meal. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. The restaurant is roomy and we felt very comfortable.

A classic dine in Chinese restaurant. The service is fast and efficient even if perhaps a little too authentically taciturn. The ambience is old school, but all the better for it. The best thing though is the food, which is simply delicious. Really tasty. My recommendation is either dine alone and enjoy in silence as I did or go with a bunch of friends and create your own atmosphere. It’s worth it for the fabulous cooking.

I've just been reading through some of the surprisingly miserable reviews of Minhs in recent months. As someone who has frequented the restaurant for over 15 years let me say that they have never failed to deliver on quality chinese food. Sure, like all other restaurants they've had their struggles on staffing and dealing with pandemic-related issues in the last 3 years but they've always been consistently good in the food they bring to the table. So my advice would be to go along there with your friends and family and help support what is still the best eat-in chinese restaurant around Telford.

Weekend visit to Shifnal we booked a table despite the reviews. Here’s what we thought:- Excellent hot food, we had a set meal for two and ivo dietary requirements we asked to change a dish- absolutely no problem. Price highly competitive. Excellent service - quick , polite and efficient. Drinks - large Rose and a pint of Bank’s - £ 11.00 total So pub/ restaurant prices. Décor- average Chinese restaurant, but restaurant was clean, full and atmosphere good. So despite some average trip advisor reviews , we were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Shifnal is a bit dead on Mondays and Tuesdays and it is difficult to find somewhere good to have dinner in the evening. Unlike other restaurants nearby, Minhs is always open and serves a good typical Chinese meal.

I love this restaurant. It's exactly the kind of place you want to take a friend for a special birthday treat. The soft shell crab is to die for and the sczhuan tofu is unbelievably good. The squid in black bean sauce is exquisite.Try it out. The menu is outstanding and very wide ranging. They now offer seitan dishes for vegans. I'm so impressed I'm going back again soon.Delicious.

Always a great meal here, Table staff are brilliant and the chefs do a great job. However menu prices have increased significantly and portion sizes appear to be reduced. Steer clear on the "Meals for 4 + " as we have noticed that with the exception of rice, prawn crackers etc they appear to be the same size portions that are brought out for both 2 and 4 people! Not impressed by being charged £3.60 for a glass of Soda and Lime cordial. Noticed the price when we got the bill and when I asked to check the price the poor waitress returned with an aopolgy and said it was correct. Note: Telford hotels charge around £1.20- £1.50 for a pint. So check the price of a drink before you order !!!! Will continue to eat here in the future and do not blame the table staff at all they are great. Note for management: If you are going to put up prices and overcharge on certain driks eventually you will see your client base drop as their are lots of alternative restaurants.

It’s been some time since we have been to Minhs. Wanted somewhere with good food/service for an early New Year Eve dinner with friends. Wasn’t disappointed. Food as good as we remembered. Service did not live up to previous but possibly because of the evening. Would I recommend - yes.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and it was terrible from start to finish! Our starter came out on a freezing cold plate and the food was also cold. We complained to the waitress, she then brought it out again in the same condition with the food slightly warmer! Our main dish then appeared yet again on a freezing cold plate, half the food was hot and half of it was cold. At this point we asked for the manager and he wasn’t bothered at all, he said if we didn’t like it to leave his restaurant, which we did and we will never be going back to experience that again. Terrible food, decor very dated and the customer experience was diabolical.....

Having been to Minhs on many occasions in the past when visiting family the food and service "was" amazing.

Came here for a group dinner, food was perfect and service good. Not too expensive if you have the set meal. Nice to be seated at a circular table as a large group so we could all hear each other speak. Will be back

Average food, they charge you £3 for a portion of rice on top of the curry, which in my opinion Is a bit of a rip off.

Placed a large order for 5 adults- Went to the restaurant to collect and noticed the food just on the side in a box.

My family love this place. As stated above it’s reliably good. High quality aromatic duck starter which is our favourite. Always huge portions, hot and fresh which is all you can ask for. Decor is a big aged but the food is so good you can let that slide! Good Chinese beer and good choice of vegetarian dishes

We've probably been here 12 times in 5 months...... lovely people serving fabulous food. It might be a little dearer than most but you get what you pay for and the food here is superb.

We had booked a table on the day we wanted to attend, no problem. Once we arrived we were quickly shown to our table, with only 2 other tables being occupied (Busy Saturday night in Shifnal and payday weekend we were surprised). Quickly the waitresses came to our table to take drink orders, before we had even sat down and looked at the menu. The next then came for our food order, having barely read the drinks menu. We asked for some time, they did not look impressed!! Then when they took our food order, it literally arrived within 5 minutes, one meal was totally incorrect. The food itself was nice and flavoursome, however, I chocked on the fillet beef stirfry as the meat was tough. A table of four were in and out having had starters and mains within 1 hour, I have never felt so rushed. Will I return again, well I might try a takeaway but I would not return to the restaurant.

We’ve visited quite often for takeaway, (excellent food), plus because it’s licensed there’s just enough time to get a swift one in whilst waiting....,it’s even better eating in though, nice atmosphere with a great varied menu. Highly recommended

Me & my friend had a lovely evening here. Arrived early Friday night, seated straight away prawn crackers brought to the table straight away & drinks order taken. Drinks arrived promptly, stayer soon after. Service with a smile throughout. Will return.

Had a takeaway on Friday evening, as regulars, and I have to say that it was lovely as per usual... until I found a thick black hair and it’s certainly didn’t fit anyone from our household!!!!! The past 4 visits the Management shows ignorance and displeasure in serving customers, many people have commented and now our party of 10 confirmed the lack of service, we have been coming here for over 10 years, but now not anymore.

Been coming to this restaurant for years always had a fantastic take away, eat in a few times too and always had first class service.

Food was fab, staff were great happy smiling helpful, we have not been for a few years, so it was a joy to go back and see the place had change every little and the food was just as good if not better.

Looked restaurant up on the internet, checked out menu and drove 12 miles to try it out. Large restaurant clean and tidy, very quiet although this was early on a Sunday night, only three other people in the restaurant. However, no Sunday buffet as per the menu of the web page, but not a problem. Asked for children menu as we have two children under 11, no children’s menu, still not a problem, we asked for half portion of scampi and half portion of chicken balls, we were told they do not do half portions, advised the children could share a meal though. Practically every other restaurant we have been to has a children’s menu or does half portions. Despite trying to persuade the manager it was a difficult task to cook just a half portion, no was the answer every time. We did not stay. Ironically, we tried a pub nearby, no tables as too busy and the nearby Indian restaurant was also busy but had a children’s menu and did a half portion of curry for my son. They Indian restaurant benefited from £75 of our business.

My son loves this place, my started was amazing, however the sweet and sour pork was a massive let down the batter was a dumpling rock hard on the outside whilst under cooked on the inside. However the folks with me had a great experience and the food exceeded their expectations.

We stayed local at a hotel and wanted to eat out so booked In on a Saturday night. Had the set meal B for two people , was plenty to eat. And I really enjoyed the food service was quick. Also there was plenty of staff so we never seemed to wait long for anything. Would use again.

A warm and immediate welcome as always. The restaurant is well laid out and attractive offering a full menu with plenty of choice. The waiter took our orders and the food was served within ten minutes.

4 of us booked for New Years Eve, ordered starters Yuk Sung which was good then ordered 5 dishes and rice between us, roast duck, prawn and scallops with asparagus, stir fried fillet steak, chicken curry and beef chow mein. The sea food dish had 4 prawn the scallops were sliced and I guess amounted to 2 scallops, the asparagus was mainly stalk no tips. The duck we had 4 small pieces, mostly onions on the platter and again the beef dish, the beef was tasty but not enough to feed one, mostly onions, I have had more food on a take away and £3.60 for a Tonic Water, extortionate !!

Go here 3-4 times a year when staying on business. Usually ok. Crispy chicken with sesame minced prawns. Dry, chewy and no sauce. Asked if it came with sauce and was given a small dish of something brown. Avoid.

Had a meal here on our recent weekend at Shifnal ,we didn't pre book but were able to get a table without a wait ,we ordered a banquet for 2 ,there was 2 different ones to choose but we chose the more expensive one ,it was a mixed starter selection which one of them I didn't even touch ,it looked like some kind of ham/bacon ? bit random for a Chinese meal !! Everything tasted deep fried and very greasy ,the main courses were chicken in a black bean sauce ,sizzling beef in a Cantonese sauce and onions ,the beef was quite tough ,definitely wasn't fillet steak which we get at our local restaurant and the third dish was supposed to be sweet and sour battered king prawns but when it came it was chicken so they had to change it for us ,this was by far the best dish ,it came with rice which was nice . It was an ok meal but wouldn't return and didn't feel it was good value or quality at £20 each and will not return again .

Once again this restaurant provided a warm welcome and speedy service at the table. The menu is naturally extensive but easy use. The food is in my opinion well presented and always a pleasure to eat. A very nice place to visit.

We were staying in Shifnal & a friend recommended Minh's as a good place for food. I arrived at the takeaway at around 4-45 but they didn't open until 5pm.

Recently visited Shifnal on business and on our second night we came to Minhs.

A groups of six ate here and it was great! The food was delicious, service speedy and all the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend this eatery.

We ordered the Take away just before 7pm on a Friday evening to be told that it would be ready at 7.30 my son went to collect it on arrival at Minhs was asked to pay for the food NOT a problem the problem was that NO food arrived for coolection until 8pm had we known that we would have gone to another Chinese Take away in Shifnal it was very busy with young staff who did not know what to do it was pandemonium. I eat regularly on a Friday Lunch time & it is usually very good But we won't be doing take a ways from Minhs & to top it all the food we ordered was not what we got!!

Lost its way a little previously but hoping it will be more consistent again... had a take away on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it apart from the hoi sin sauce and cucumber/onion were missing from the duck/pancakes which was disappointing- we did call them and they said to go back for more but we decided against it as our food would have been cold

Absolutely cannot fault the quality of the food, it was fantastic, however I completely agree with the theme of recent reviews which is the terrible service. Our waitress hardly cracked a smile and seemed completely disinterested, looking all around the restaurant when taking our order. My partner received a different starter to what he actually asked for. 3 of the mains came out within a couple of minutes of each other, the 4th arriving 10 minutes later after asking where it was twice and just being told 'it's coming'. Such a shame as this restaurant could be amazing if they sort out the poor customer service. I would return for a takeaway in a heartbeat, but not for a dine-in experience.

We went here on Saturday night for my partners birthday. The food was really really good and was really enjoyed. The part that wasnt enjoyed was the waitress who a) had the longest nails I have ever seen - how she does anything in day to day life I will never know, let alone serve food and b) she was the moodiest waitress I think I have ever had. Didnt speak to us at all, slammed bowls down on the table, chucked the starters down on the table. I don't think there was anything that I could honestly say she did well. Being a waitress is simply not her calling in life and let the entire meal down.

Recently have dined at Restaurant and had 2 take outs, have been very impressed by both service and quality of food, certainly say set meal for 2 is great value on take away and spreads over 2 days with the volume.

Visited for my father in law’s birthday, only a table for four! We have all been many times, and always enjoyed the food there. However, last night the service was absolutely atrocious. The starters came out 10 minutes apart, meaning two of us had eaten ours before the other two even had a chance to.

We ordered a family take away just before 7pm on good Friday and was told to collect at 7:30. When my brother arrived to collect at 7:30 it was not ready, he was asked to wait. He eventually got our food at 8pm - no apologies or reassurance was give at any time. There were others also waiting for their take always and all customers were having experiencing the 'great wait! '. They too were not happy! There were quite a few very young staff members but no one seemed to know what to do! My brother witnessed a young lad behind the counter doing very little and definitely appearing to be unable to answer the phone! None of the staff cared about the waiting customers and were obviously not trained in how to reassure waiting customers. I would suggest if there is along wait then perhaps an apology, reassurance that food is on the way and an offer of tea/coffee would go a long way to keeping their customers on side

Have been here many times and always been really happy with the service and food but not tonight. Arrived early as it was Good Friday and thought it might be busy. Lots of people were waiting for takeaway but plenty of free tables. We were seated quickly and our drinks order taken. From there things went downhill. After a very lengthy period we had to ask for prawn crackers as none were forthcoming despite others arriving after us and being served. We had ordered 3 starters and the prawn toast and pork ribs arrived after a considerable wait and were very enjoyable but despite having been provided with the satay sauce no chicken skewers appeared. We eventually asked the waitress who advised our missing starter had been given to another table in error and apologised saying it would be along shortly. When it arrived it was devoured as we had been there well over an hour and were hungry. However there was then another very long wait before 1 main appeared my chow mien, unfortunately it was only lukewarm so I asked that it be reheated. My son's duck and a double portion of egg fried rice appeared and shortly after my dish which I was advised was a fresh dish. Oh dear! Please don't say it's fresh when it's obviously the same dish. Don't get me wrong I had asked for it to be reheated, unfortunately it was now only warm and gulpy. My son's had eaten his meal but my husbands sweet and sour was no where in sight despite asking several members of staff, who were obviously having problems running around like headless chickens trying to placate other customers also having similar problems. After nearly 2 hours we had had enough and decided to leave paying only for our drinks, starters and the duck on our way out. This used to be such a great tasty place to eat but something has gone terribly wrong. What a shame.

Really sad to say that this restaurant is not to standard. We first visited this restaurant and at that time we gave them the benefit as it was a busy Saturday night. Tonight we ordered Sichuan pork & Beef with ginger and spring onion. Neither were anything special and both were very greasy and lacked freshness. Twice we have now been dissatisfied with the quality of the food. Will we return? No, I don’t think so. Sorry guys but you really do need to up your game.

Went here when family, was seen to a small table, we asked to be moved to a large table as we like a lot of starts which they agreed to. All the food was good couldn’t complain and love that the staff offered us to take left over home. Great meal will be back soon
