Absolutely disgusting fast delivery but the food is awful over cooked chickenballs rock hard chowmain is cold and dry rice tastes funny and the chicken curry is swimming in greese when I called the restrunt to complain the bloke was rude and try to tell me I must use the sauce to make them soft as that's how you eat chicken balls definitely do not recommend at all

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! How this restaurant is selling food is beyond me, we have just had a delivery and I honestly can not believe what we have been sent, chicken balls like bullets, chicken in the rice is nasty and chewy almost like it’s 2 weeks old, the chicken in the chicken curry is inedible, I could go on and I have photos to prove. AVOID, shame on you!

I order from here majority of the time, they’re really good. Everything I’ve ordered is tasty. However, the only problem I got today is that It seemed like they rushed it a little as the noodles were still a little hard and the curry sauce was spicier than usual.

The food is the worse Chinese I’ve ever add every thing was dry and vile stay away from this dump even the prawn crackers were horrendous

Awful food, my chicken in curry was tough and chewy, chips were the same. Chicken from the english dish also really chewy and hard to eat, the gravy was like tar, off-putting to eat. Really dissappointed, will not be ordering from here again

What has happened to this place - every meal out of the three had nasty elements. Order number: 1428079965 8/10/2021 KON SUI ASSORTED MEAT *HOT* With Crispy Noodles A tepid stodge - there was no hotness or spiciness to it at all. The stodge was on half the noodles and the rest were already soft. Why put them in the same container as something hot and wet - so that the condensation ruins them? SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN BALLS The balls were ok, bit thick and bready for my liking but ok. The sauce however was nasty, just sour, no sweet - never tasted a S&S sauce like it before. CHICKEN AND PEPPERS IN BLACK BEAN SAUCE Sauce again NASTY. It was NOT black bean sauce - it tasted like thick, gelatenous gravy, no black bean taste at all - just vile. We actually took the chicken and peppers out and washed them and had them dry with the rice, it was better! It meant we were able to eat something out of this car-crash of a meal. PRAWN CRACKERS Stale. OVERALL - Tepid heat, I only live a 5 minute drive from the shop and it arrived tepid. *** I tried to call to complain - but after 3 prolonged attempted at no-one answering I gave up*** Waste of £16. (Having read some other reviews Im glad the phone wasnt answered, the man sounds norrible) Wish Id read the reviews before I ordered - I havent order from here for a couple of years, it used to be nice. Its not now. I wish Id driven out and gone to the Hong Kong instead.

A few days ago the sweet & sour chicken balls were missing from our order. I rang up then & after much debating Ming agreed to send the missing food out. Then today an egg fried rice was missing from the order. Rang & Ming came on the phone & was abusive immediately before I even spoke. He wouldn’t let me speak & continued shouting & being abusive. He said I was a liar & the order had been checked twice to make sure all the items were there. I tried to say how could it have been checked twice & the egg fried is still missing from the order. He again was very abusive & said he refused to help as I was lying. Never again will order from this awful man. Very abusive & unprofessional man. My 5yr old grandson was so upset as the egg fried rice was for him. Worse experience I’ve ever had with a takeaway. Do not expect to be verbally abused for asking for the missing item that’s been paid for in advance. Absolutely appalling customer service from Ming.

Really bad food...waste of money.

They delivered over 2 hours late even though we live very close by!!

All their dishes seem to be too spicy to the point they are painful to eat and ultimately inedible. Despite asking for them to tone down the spice on my dish, it was as hot as the last time. Will not use again Food ended up in the bin.

I have been ordering from mings for 16 years and 2day they messed up my order . I have been looking after my elderly neighbor all day and just sat down to eat. And it was totally wrong who orders a fired chow mein any way. And when i phoned back there was no customer service at all. Totally fobbed me off. Not acceptable especially as i have been a loyal customer. Deleted there number want be ordering again.

After seeing mixed reviews we gave it a try, food was abit cold when it had arrived and the chips were soggy. Everything else seemed to be ok, not sure if I would order again though

On the 10/08/19 I ordered a Chinese from Mings, and I was very disappointed with the food. The chips were soggy and the prawn crackers were stale. This is the second time this has happened. However I was not planning on writing a review. When the delivery guy brought my food I handed him over a £20 pound note, he handed me my change as I was holding the food in both hands. I quickly put the change in my purse and closed the door. It was only today I went to use the change to buy an item and realized I’d been given a 5 pound note that had been ripped and taped back together. The shop refused to take it. So I called Ming’s to make them aware, I believe I spoke to the manager and when I explained what had happened he was quick to shout at me. Stating it was my own fault for not checking, (granted I should of checked but I kinda had my hands full) then he went on to say he hands his drivers the foat money and refused to ask the driver how he had the taped note. He continued to over talk me and shout down the line. I asked him twice to stop shouting, I tried to explain I was now out of pocket and he said well call the police and hung up. I’m a fairly reasonable person, the level of service was rude and not called for. It might only be 5 pound but that’s not the point. I will not be using this Chinese again and I will certainly make sure that my friends who use it find other places too.

Ordered sweet & sour chicken and never seen anything like it in my life! The sauce was bright red due to half a bottle of red food colouring been added and so much vinegar in the sauce it made my teeth sensitive. Ended up throwing it away. Total waste of money and won't be ordering again

Delivery good food ok customer service rubbish. Phoned to say that the order I placed was incomplete only to have the phone put down on me. I then had a phone call from just to say that the restaurant had called telling I had complained and that in not so many words I was lying about a £4.20 item and that they were not going to refund the amount or replace up until this point I was a regular customer not now I will be going elsewhere.

The food was great and delicious

Vile! Food was late, arrived cold. Ended up having to heat it up although wish I hated bothered! Most dishes were either swimming in oil or contained human hairs! However the lady that was manning the phone was lovely, unfortunately her boss was not!

The food ordered was still hot and delicious. We all enjoyed what we had. We will defintaly order from here again. The delivery person was cool too.

Ordered from mings cottage twice now the first time the food didn't show after nearly an hour of waiting so we ended up cancelling Just ordered again, given this takeaway the benefit of the doubt and so wish we hadn't as the food had to be cancelled yet again as it never showed up. Will never be using this takeaway ever again they have had two chances now they have blown it 😠

Don’t bother, complete waste of money.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR MEAL ORDER ELSEWHERE!!! If there was a 0 Star.. that's what this place should get!!! I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the meal I received from Mings Cottage in Leicester. The food has a fishy taste to ALL dishes and we didnt order any fish! I tired a little bit and ended up vomiting and throwing the meal away!! These guys told HH that they don't cook fish on the premises but they have a Seafood Section!!! I am left ill, still hungry but now sick, out of pocket, wasted a lot of time, extemely disappointed and upset! Thanks for ruining my evening Mings Cottage!

This is the only Chinese take away I use, I've been using it for 15 years and I've never had deli belly , Mr Ming is friendly and cares about his customers ,his food is tasty and fresh and his prices always stay the same. You can get a good meal for 2 for under £15. Highly recommended his chilli & salt ribs they are the best. You will not be disappointed 🍴

Lovely Chinese takeaway, food was delicious and good sized portions. Would definitely go again.

I did want to upload the picture but couldn't. Anyway food was terrible .. yes the service was on time, food came piping hot but quality was below standard. Chicken balls absolutely DRY, couldn't even enjoy them with the sweet and sour sauce .. even that was overpowered by vinegar. Curry sauce isn't the normal taste instead it tastes like haldi.. most of the order was incorrect! You'd think this was the best Chinese place by looking at ratings and reviews but really it is a cheap Chinese takeaway in disguise, not happy definateley won't be eating here again and you shouldn't either! Do not waste your money.
