I've had very poor experience with this company, I ordered 2 chicken currys and one vegetable curry, all with rice. The 2 chicken currys and the rice never turned up. Furthermore, they sent me a pork curry. I rang back complaining and they were very disrespectful towards me and my religion.

It’s always 10/10, it’s quality ingredients and never greasy. Simply delicious and best Chinese in Leicester.

Nicest Chinese I’ve had in awhile: the pancakes were the best part of the meal. Delivery was quick and food was hot. Would order again.

Appalled. That would be the one word I would use. Ordered a delivery, spent over £38 which meant we should get free prawn crackers and a bottle of drink. The meal turned up without the prawn crackers. I said to the delivery man that they had missed it off. He told me to contact the restaurant, which I did. I explained the issue politely and she said that it is just a drink and not prawn crackers and telling me I was in the wrong, saying they had ran out, and later contradicting that. She could have simply sent them out on the next order but instead she said there was nothing she can do and put the phone down on me. Very rude. Let’s just say for the sake of sending out some prawn crackers has cost them the loss of business from myself, anyone I know, and hopefully anyone who reads this review.

I am allergic.... can taste that chemical burning plastic taste ... if only they used their heads because the public demand clean food... it is that simple clean premises and clean food ... forced to give it a star ... please clean up your act and serve better food

Cancelled order after ordering it even though Uber eats said we was in range for them. Seems like they just couldn't be bothered to do the order. Lazy. Waste of time.

First time ordering here, it was the best chinese we have had in a long time, fresh, hot and the best bbq sauce we've tasted 😋, delivery said 65 minutes but was here in 30 👍

We used to order almost weekly when old owners were in charge since new ownership we have had 6 separate orders cancel and each time they say too far or not enough drivers if its too far it shouldnt be showing up for delivery to my area use to be our go to chinese wont again gone down hill massively

We have just literally just ordered from here and the food was absolutely rancid, I called to complain about this within 1/2 mins as I was eating it while dishing it out and they said we would have to come down with the food and re order and the driver was literally still in his car. If I could add a picture I would - do not order from here whatever you do!! If i could give it no stars I would! I actually can’t believe they would send food out like this. For reference we ordered lemon chicken and chilli beef and chips.

Used to be a regular here, the food was amazing and the cheapest you could find. Sadly since the end of October they have repeatedly been cancelling any orders I try and make with no explanation. So unfortunate that apparently I'm not the only one who has had this happen as they must be losing a lot of money. Other then that the food was always good.

My girlfriend and I order take out from this place twice a month… The food has never disappointed. More than the food, the owner (lady) is the sweetest person. The food quality, quantity and taste has never surprised us (it’s always on point) but what does surprise us is the fact that the owner has always given us random gifts along with the order; from laptop stands, Christmas decoration, usb chargers, tiny little decorative pouches etc. It’s the little things that go a long way. My girlfriend (who is quite clumsy) dropped our food on the way out and one of the containers spilled out. The owner saw this and made us a fresh batch for free. No complaints whatsoever from this place… will always be our usual Chinese in our current residence!!

New lucky dragon is my local Chinese restaurant , every time I go there to pick up my food the staff are very welcoming and always give you a free gift to take away with your food which I think is super nice of them , the food is lovely as well, they always cater to your requests even if it’s not on the menu, would recommend.

Had Singapore chow mein absolutely disgusting. No taste to it and it was a disgusting colour. Won't go back

After a 2 h and 40 min wait our Ubereats order finally arrived. Distinctly underwhelming. Cooked in old, burned oil. Fuel, rather than food. I was given a £10 discount by way of apology for the delay, and for which I am grateful. Also given a free gift. Bizarrely this was a hot glue gun. I’m still wondering why!

I have been here again today the food is absolutely disgusting qnd yet again they all so gave me the wrong order the food was full of salt tasted like I was drinking sea water the staff member was very Ryde and told me to take my business elsewhere as I made a complaint they all so on q previous occasion mixed up an order and could have killed q friend she is allergic to fish and they delivered prawn curry instead if chicken that could have been fatal this place needs shutting down its filthy when u walk in and cannot stand criticism there an absolute joke I will mow be sending q food sample to environmental health qfter the order earlier as it was all so half raw qs well and they expected me to feed that crap to my child not happening worse chinese ever stay well clear

I've been a regular here for coming up 7 years. The food is fantastic, portion is quite big so you can always save left overs which is amazing. No one makes bbq sauce like new lucky dragon 🤩 delivery was early, they dont use the tracking but i didnt mind as delivery went smooth

Absolutely horrible delivery. They don’t use the normal delivery map on Deliveroo so can’t spot when they around. Send me an email saying that they are outside but when I gone down no one was there. Told me that they called me but no one did. Hang up on me and didn’t refund my £26. Such a waste of time and money. Don’t even want to try their food. According reviews the food was bad anyway.

The delivery took over 2 hours from order to delivery. We had one honest person say when our delivery would actually come, but after multiple calls the food finally came. Very slow and not worth the wait - just go somewhere else. Also, they forgot the prawn crackers we paid for. It’s been 2.5 hours since we ordered and still haven’t got them.

Food delivery over 2 and a half hours and Food was damaged and leaking over bags. Horrible hygiene conditions and Food was cold. Delivery person didn't know what was in the order and couldn't be bothered to go to the doors and rang to say he was on the end of the street. Call several times and gave the same answer and didn't take it seriously. I do not advise anyone to go to anyone. It was disgusting service.

Order crispy duck and chicken balls and chips also with curry sauce They send me chicken balls chip and sauce first So I finally got hold of the restaurant to ask where the crispy duck was they said the driver has the lost the order waiting another 40 minutes for them to send me crisps beef so I called back up to get told they wouldn't do anything

This was my first experience od New Lucky Dragon ordering via uber and it was excellent (contrary to most reviews here). Food actually turned up early and we were given a free bottle of tango. Wasn't expecting much from the food as we ordered just before seeing the Google reviews, however, we were pleasantly surprised. Food was all hot and tasty. The ribs and the chili prawns were especially good. We've had takeaways at a few places and this was as good as any other in our opinion. I don't normally leave reviews but i felt like i needed to on this occasion. People compaining about msg need to go read up and research. Msg is not bad!

I will start off with the delivery man, absolutely rude and yelled at me and my son for not being able to find my keys for the door. Then moaned about putting it through the window when I specifically said please leave it outside and I will get it off you, but insisted he put it through the window. Then got my food most of it was missing or cold, by the time I had unpacked all of it realised most of it was missing so rang the restaurant, had to speak to 4 different people about where I lived and what the name was I specifically spoke about how it was ordered through just eat. The man i finally got through to he was extremely rude and aggressive, telling me i was wasting his time and that he had been on the phone for 20 mins when it hadn't hadn't been 10 minutes. He told me I was messing around with him and the restaurant as I was lying about where I ordered it from, he then continued to yell and get aggressive down the phone to me and my friend about how we was in the wrong and how I was the wrong one who had given him the wrong information! He had the attitude of " I don't care If the order is wrong but Im not doing anything as he mentioned he had worked here for " 12 years without no problems at all" after reading the reviews I have noticed that everyone is having the same problem as I am! My advice would be to not order from this restaurant, if you want any form of good customer service or any decent respect!

Ordered via justeat at 6:30pm with an ETA 1 hour wait. Still no food at 8:10pm after contacting New Lucky Dragon directly several times. They made excuses & lied about the food being ready & on its way. The food was never cooked or delivered.

Where do I start ? If this is the new lucky dragon I’d hate to see what the old lucky dragon was like ! First of all the order was later than the time told so while we was heating up the food we realised none of the sides we ordered had come so rang the new lucky dragon and explained , the guy on the other end went to talk to the chef after a couple of minutes of listening to shouting and arguing down the phone he finally comes back and says the chef has ticked it off his you must have it . As I explained I clearly haven’t and by the end he was pretty much telling me I’m lying and spoke with the attitude of I don’t care and I’m not gonna do anything about it told me I’ll get a call from the manager . 3 days later I’ve heard nothing , they have my money so why bother making effort with the customer. The food itself was very poor we left a lot of it not much taste . I really wish I’d read reviews before using the new lucky dragon . So if you’ve had COVID and lost your sense of taste and want to pay and get half of the order than the new lucky dragon is for you Minus 5 stars

After reading the reviews it seems many people experience the same poor levels of service from this establishment. They lied continually until the point that Deliveroo intervened. Order placed at 17:45 and order eventually cancelled at 20:39 (see emails) when still no food was received and no reasonable explanation. Why are they allowed to continue with these practices?

The front of the business looks dirty, not clean at all, the proprietor needs to have a good clean at the front where the customers order, dirty nasty delivery bags right where the customers sit, foot stains all over the walls, dirty floor..... This place hasn't been cleaned in months. Food is below average and can taste an unhealthy amount of MSG in every item I bought. Would not recommend.

I were worried about my order after reading the reviews they've been given, but my mussels in black bean sauce, king prawns in salt and chilli, and the chicken and mushroom soup, were delicious, and it was earlier than the estimated time, I'd order again 😊

Absolutely waste of money, they lie about time slot, nearly 2 hours later it decided to turn up, luke warm food, rang 4 times, they stated the driver is on his way, I wouldn't even recommend this place, so if you do decide to place a order put ya order in at breakfast time then ya just might get it in the evening at some point if I cud give zero stars I would staff not very nice on the phone

This was without a doubt, the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. We ordered hot and sour soup which was neither hot nor sour (i'd argue it was barley soup) Szechuan chicken which was as bland as a glass of water and crispy seaweed which tasted like an old rubber plimsoll. NEVER AGAIN

Crispy vegetarian chicken is soggy, salt and chilli chips have no chilli on, chowmein is soggy and wasnt hot on delivery. Best thing about the order was the packet mix curry sauce.

Ordered from here as our usual was closed. (The amazing Canton Chef) the chips and rice were clearly yesterdays left overs. Mini spring rolls were mostly better. Not great at all.

Ordered for delivery was 2hrs late rang asked where they was said was on way, rang again half hour later and said just got in car. Called again the woman hung up!!! Finally turned up but with the wrong order Had to wait another 15 min for arrival for the food to be cold. Ordered 3 in one no curry sauce on the chip and dried squid doesn’t taste cooked Absolutely fumming .Highly don’t recommend coming here.

I love the chicken curry with egg fried but the spring rolls were not great. It was fast and cheap but that's expected for a take away.

Ordered the salt and pepper which tasted nothing like it. Tofu was like rubber and hard. Egg fried rice tasted old and dry, hardly any egg in it. Terrible don’t waste your money. Called them and all the lady who I spoke with said was ‘ok’ !! Don’t waste your money!

Ordered Salt and pepper Tofu. This no way tasted anything like it. I’ve ordered this at least 30/40 times from various places. The Tofu was hard, rubbery, tasteless. The egg fried rice hardly had any egg pieces if any, dry and no way fresh. Called but the lady was uninterested and tried to justify the food. Will not order again or recommend - sorry ! Waste of money.

Apparently they couldn't find our house even though we live 5 minutes away, the driver took the food back without even calling us and they refused to re-deliver. No apology nothing. They were so rude and just said the chef and drivers are too busy to redo or re-deliver the food!!!

Late and food is of poor quality

The food was mediocre at best and add the poor level of service with that this was never going to go well. With items missing from the order we contacted restaurant and they agreed to resend driver, when missing food arrived much later obviously other part of meal had been consumed but to add insult to injury they had yet again delivered wrong item. Poor food, poor service and with other great restaurants locally we will not use here again and would recommend others to look elsewhere.

We ordered a takeaway from here for the first time to varying degrees of success. We ordered vegetarian Duck in black bean sauce and Tofu Chinese style as well as ‘special chips’. We are both vegan so it was refreshing to see so many options available to us on the menu and a range of proteins as well as the usual vegetable offering. The vegetables were nicely cooked and still crunchy and the meat substitute was a great addition. There is also vegetarian King Prawn on the menu which I find intriguing and refreshing to see from a small takeaway. The service was friendly and it was very affordable. Sadly the joy largely ended there. The two dishes were largely indistinguishable other than one sauce had visible black beans in it. The chips were soggy and i’ve now sampled the worst spring rolls ever. All dough with one token slither of flacid carrot in them at best and occasionally completely empty. A shame because there is potential here.

This Chinese has changed hands since the old reviews I think, so don't pay them too much mind. This place is very good. It's probably the best Chinese takeaway in Leicester for vegetarians and vegans right now. They with do any dish with vegetarian duck, or vegetarian chicken, or tofu. The meat subs are made in the restaurant using the Seitan method (wheat based) so are vegan and have good texture.

Food was 45 minutes late and by the time it reached us it was cold. The restaurant itself delayed the food by 20 minutes and then the driver used didn’t know how to get to the correct location I provided. I was called several times to ask how to help the driver but I could not understand where he was to give directions but also felt this was not my job. When ringing the restaurant they were not concerned with what had happened and were not at all willing to compensate. Would not recommend.

Can't judge the food as it never came, but I can judge the poor service. Had ordered via Just Eat and an hour and half later we saw no sight of our order. I had tried to phone several times but no one picked up (which begs me to wonder how they take phone orders). Anyway, the order eventually came with the excuse of poor traffic (how original). Thankfully I called Just Eat and cancelled my order with them

The food from Lucky Dragon is excellent and for vegetarians/vegans it offers an amazing range of choice. For example not only do they do almost all dishes in mixed veg option, they also do vegetarian chicken, vegetarian duck, and tofu. All are vegan, and the vegetarian chicken and duck is delicious. I called to check it was vegan and they confirmed. It's made from flour and whilst they obviously can't tell me the full recipe it sounded like seitan. For those of you that like seafood, they do mussels with most dishes, including salt & chilli dry battered mussels, which are very moreish. I'd recommend as a side to share. Try this place!

Having always lived in Leicester I've tried a lot of the Chinese restaurant and this is hands down the best! My mother in law came across this take away and recommend it to me. They do the usual range of dishes but they all taste amazing! It's like someone turned the volume up on taste! I always have the stir fried vegetables and the salt and chilli chips. The chips are AMAZING. A must try. They offer veggie and vegan friendly meat substitutes too which I've never seen a chinese takeaway fo before. My husband loves the veggie duck so if you're a veggie or vegan or just looking for something a bit healthier than the meat do try it - it tastes exactly the same! The staff are so lovely on the phone and really helpful when ordering in suggesting dishes you might like. We drive across town to pick up Chinese from here and it is worth it!! I'd never go anywhere else now.

Food is good, mostly. However it's always been late to us, today by over half an hour. Means food arrived soggy and tepid at best. Disappointing as when it arrives promptly is always satisfying. Would be more stars but the delivery issue has re occured.

I ordered from here tonight for me and my girls , I love my Chinese food but this has got to be the worst I've ever had the chips came over done dry like they had been cooked hours before n reheated chicken balls tasted like they had been the same , I had lamb with spring onion n ginger it had massive slices of ginger in it and the lamb was mainly fat and chewy it was disgusting and the only other thing in the dish was onions , I will not be ordering from here again .... very disappointed

Awful experience. Been using these for a while now, but tonight i received what was meant to be crispy shredded duck and it was unrecognisable and inedible. I rang up to get another one sent out but they blank refused. No refund either. How can they get away with this. NEVER AGAIN!

The three stars are undeserved - this place has better food than people say. Tonight the hot Thai chicken soup was exactly what I needed and the beef in the beef fried rice just right. Some other restaurants go overboard on the "tender" texture and it's been cooked in a sauce but these seasoned strips of beef are more like what you'd expect.

Avoid if possible, bloody awful got one for mum in law who lives close by, never again

Absolutely disgusting, order £17 worth of food for it to be over cooked, or not even fit for consumption, I have emailed food standards with photos of the food all I was offered was a discount of my next order which is a joke as I have no intention of buying from this establishment again.
