Think twice about ordering from here. Whilst the food has always been good, their customer service is appalling. We were lied to about the delivery time which took 2 hrs, but when it arrived the very embarrassed delivery driver said he’d only left ten minutes before. When we tried to get a partial refund, they flatly refused and only offered a discount on the next order. The lady on the phone lied to the boss about when we received our order and refused to accept that they were in the wrong. She also lied that we had been told they only had one driver, which they hadn’t at any point. We felt so bad for the driver, as he clearly knew us customers were being fed a bind of lies about delivery times, shame on you Mings

The food was OK - the service was about 10 minutes late due to them ensuring that 'Just eat' orders were ready. But other than that it was good.

Food came on time and was hot but that's all. There was too much salt in all of the dishes, the fried rice was overcooked and as for the Thai Red Chicken curry, well anybody can add some meat to a jar of sauce and pass it off as the real thing. No sign of any kaffir lime leaves and far too hot. The prawn dishes were OK, but not great and the starters were overcooked and dry. We had high hopes but sadly we won't be using Mings again unless the standard improves a lot.

Had a takeaway collection this evening around 8pm. Clearly told employee via telephone what items we wanted from the menu, and on collection read back and queried price due to a recent menu change not known about. However on eating our food we noticed one dish (sweet and sour chicken peking style) was missing peppers and pineapple and the sauce was different. Still enjoyed whatever dish was given. After completion, I phoned the takeaway to be told “we can’t do anything, why didn’t you read out the correct name on the menu” which I’d like to add peking is used in most Chinese restaurants or takeaways. The lady also said “you asked for” so and so which definitely was not said in the conversation on the phone as sweet and sour is entirely different from fried chicken in house sauce. In the end the lady on the phone hung up. Overall disappointed with the service given, and safe to say will not be returning and instead shall go to jobs in rainham, a little bit further but much better service.

Tried to make an order on just eat. For it to freeze just as ive sent the order. I call them to ask if the order went through but the man hung up on me twice. I understand that people might think that i was being rude. But i werent i asked him nicely as ive worked in restaurants and answered phones. We hate rude unreasonable customers. So why did they do that. God only knows. Will avoid in future.

Food was cold. Chips over cooked. Very few pieces of chicken than usual in the chicken chow mein. Don’t think we’ll be using these again.

We'd seen up-and-down reviews but felt we needed to try it to find out. We ordered a noodle dish and a duck/rice dish for collection. Both came quickly and were hot. The rice dish had big chunks of good quality meat in it and tasted great. The noodle dish was a very generous portion and was well-cooked, spicy and flavoursome, with mixed meat that was all tasty. The only thing I might have changed was putting a few more vegetable bits in the noodles. Staff were helpful, portions were good, service fine, prices fine. Will definitely go back.

We decided to give Mings a go despite some of the poor reviews.....we were not disappointed....we ordered the set menu for two.....paid by card and the food arrived 20 minutes early!!! Brilliant.....everything was not and delicious.....plenty of it, we made the mistake of ordering extra.....bad move!.......well worth the money and we will definitely be ordering from Mings again......

I've been using Mings for over 10 years (my parter has used them for even longer), and we'd found that it had gone downhill, even to the extent that we hadn't been there since early May this year. Then, we decided last week that we really fancied Chinese and rang through an order. We were told on the phone that they had changed management and when we got our food we were very pleasantly surprised! Everything was so much tastier and better than it had been under the old management, and we liked it so much that we ordered from there again this week. The menu is also much more extensive and for an added bonus, they now deliver to us which no-one else does as we are out in the middle of nowhere - win / win! My only criticism would be that the food wasn't terribly hot - it certainly wasn't cold, it just could have been a bit hotter. We will definitely be going back and can't understand all the other recent reviews saying it's awful.

Eww!!! We used to be regular customers to this Chinese but ever since it’s been taken over, the food has been disgusting! The chips in gravy are in a really peanuty grim sauce making them inedible. The other dishes have still gone downhill too. It’s quite expensive for what it is compared to what you can get at other Chinese restaurants/takeaways in the area and since they’ve got rid of their vouchers, it’s really shot up in price. It’s a shame really as we’ve been going to this Chinese for years and the staff are so nice, it’s just a shame we have to find somewhere else because the food is horrible!

We ordered over the phone, they didn't mention cash only but lucky I took some as when I arrived to collect the food there was a note saying cash only. The food was a massive disappointment. It tasted awful, greasy, badly cooked, not nice at all. Instead of sweet and sour sour with our chicken balls they had included curry sauce which was fowl. We ended up throwing the food in the bin as it was so awful. I understand this place has changed owners but still there should be no excuse for selling the poor quality food. Won't be returning again.

I cannot understand why there has been a take over of ownership of Mings in Newington. As a customer of well over 20 years, why did I not hear of this?? When I phoned our order through, I was suspicious as the male voice that answered did not seem to speak or understand the ordering, 3 times I had to repeat...... my Son went to collect, and we sat to enjoy our takeaway! Well to say Hot was an understatement, and the Special Fried Rice( well that's what it was supposed to be, was a far inferior rice that had never been used before, in fact I couldn't eat my meal, my husband struggled , but as lhe drank milk ( something you would expect to do with a hot Indian Curry) but not Chinese. I did phone the shop and ask if by any chance they were new owners ? , and the answer was Yes! Well that was enough..... they have lost a very good customers , because I will never order from there again!! I understand that the previous owners adapted the tastes to adapt to our English palettes, but at least they used quality suppliers and the rice was very good quality, as were the prawn crackers, the ones given to us on Saturday were inedible!! We are very disappointed and where do we go now for a quality Chinese Takeaway?

As a regular customer over many years I am sorry to say Ming's has really gone downhill . I have seen a comment on here that it has changed hands,if so, that will account for the fact that the food in our opinion is not as nice as it used to be. We found the food very salty, fatty & full of garlic the egg fried rice was rubbish , when you compare prices & quality from most decent supermarket products its a far better option all round, in future it has got to be the way to go Sadly We will not be using this takeaway again.

Meal for two, varied and comprehensive menu. Parking in nearby street. Friendly and efficient service, cooked promptly, as requested. Always consistently good as we are regulars

Have used Ming's takeaway for many years & it has proved to beConsistently good, The food is not over salted like many others,& is always tasty & well cooked. friendly happy staff. Parking near by can be difficult.Ring through your order its always on time!

This is one of the nicest Chinese take-aways I have had, they are always friendly, fast and reliable, very accommodating with special orders. I use them regularly and have not been disappointed to date. Don't let appearances be deceptive in this case...

We were struggling to decide what to get to eat on the way home and as we passed through Newington we noticed this takeaway and thought you can't really go wrong with chinese…(Wrong).. Very disappointed when we got home and was too far to return the meal..Won't stop next time.

Randomly came across this Chinese Take Away on the way to visit a friend in Newington. The staff were friendly, with polite manners. As it's an open kitchen, you witness the food is cooked from fresh every single time. Before you enjoy the meal, the smell of it is sensational. You cannot ask for more on the weekend or after work, relaxing with a beer watching football or chilling with some friends. This has now turned into a regular weekly routine.

Ordered a takeaway from here and it was appalling. It was ready extremely quickly which tells you it's all heated up and this was obvious when we opened up the boxes.The food was lukewarm, dried up and congealed.We ended up throwing most of it away. Save your money - have beans on toast.

Mings alrightWe stayed at thé premier inn not 5 mins away. Thé food was standard take away but definately not of thé cheap type even had sweet sour pork balls. Thé staff were polite and helpfull even thou i took my caméra and not my wallet i would call and then pick to save waiting too long Thanks

We have used Ming's Takeaway since it opened,20 years plus ago ,and it is still as good as ever, it is our treat every other Saturday, after my husband and son come home from Football, The service has always been prompt ,and the food delicious...and the Staff are Wonderful.

Ordered food at 740pm, was told 50mins to an hour.. it arrived at 930.. pancake rolls were cold and soaked with oil. The salt and Pepper ribs were also cold and greasy. The delivery driver arrived and she looked like she had been pulled from the kitchen to get it here after ringing and asking where my order was. She drove past my house 2 times in 15mins before delivering. Will not be ordering from here again.

Called for takeaway, messed about having to do bank transfer because my meal wasn’t over £25.00 wouldn’t expect card under that amount… food very disappointing. Terrible prawns in batter and unacceptable Singapore Noodles. Overall shocking experience…won’t ever be going back.

Absolutely stunning Chinese takeaway, good prices and fairly speedy collection service. We go back time and time again. Would highly recommend.

I got an order of deep fried squid. I’ve been rapidly competing ever since every half an hour, the kitchen is dirty oil wasn’t cleaned after multiple uses on hop fest. I will be contacting the owner and possibly sending a health inspector down there immediately because they need to be shut down.
