Myself and two friends were at this restaurant last night and have been going here for a number of yrs. The decor has slowly gone downhill and smells very musty which is very off putting. The service was very bad on this particular night and can understand if it was busy but wasn't. The main meal came out separately leaving some to get cold. The Manager is very rude and needs to learn some people skills only interested in asking if we want another drink which are very overpriced. Needless to say I won't be going back in a hurry

Recently i went here for a birthday celebration. There are two menus to choose from, the Al a carte or the unlimited. We chose the unlimited. With this you choose starters, as many as you like, they bring enough of each to feed the group, or you can start with soup. This is then followed by crispy duck, until recently there was also the option of crispy lamb but duck is now the only choice. Once every one has had enough of the second course the menu is brought back out and you get to choose as many main courses as you like as with the starters enough of each is provided so everyone can try some of each. This can be added to throughout the meal until everyone has had there fill. There is a wide range of drinks available to choose from especially wines. I thoroughly recommend here for a great night out for a reasonable price.

We could only get a 1.45 sitting for our party knowing it closed at 3.30. We were Welcomed with Friendly smiles from the staff. There were 17 of us which were seated along a long table with a division in the middle, so that took 15 minutes for hello’s and to be seated. The entrees of mixed nibbles was a good start, along with crackers and our first non-alchoholic drinks - mainly pints or halves of coke. Next came the duck & pancakes. The duck was dry, not greasy with lovely crispy edges. Our 2nd Alcholic drink came before our mains. There was quite a nice choice for the mains. Each person had their own dish with a shared bowl of egg fried rice and noodles which was brought up to accompany the dishes. That took two hours for us to complete, which was just about time to close. It all worked out to be around £23.00 per head, so was quite reasonable although a little hurried to get out. All in all the food was nice, very reasonably priced, good value and everyone came out just nicely fed and watered. My mains was the chilli beef. It was very tasty although not a lot of beef - more thinly flavoured batter, but tasted OK. No other complaints or moans from anyone else. The service was good, making sure we had the continuity and flow of food. To be honest, I would have liked a bit more time to chill out more, especially with the amount of people in our party, to enjoy a Chinese tea after or another drink. Other couples were dining at the same time and seemed to come and leave while we were there, so maybe we were a little slow. In general I have rated a 4 star which could easily been increased if I had the time to sample the whole experience.

I have been coming here for a few years now. This is a large restaurant so in the week I've never had to book a table for dinner. The food is consistently good and the set price menu is fantastic value - you can choose whatever you want and it's all waiter/waitress service which I much prefer to buffet style. This way the food is fresh and piping hot when it arrives! The customer service was excellent on my most recent visit (I've not been for a few months) and may be due to a change of management/staff. Previously this was the only negative side to the restaurant, but I'm pleased to say this is now vastly improved. Will definitely be back!

Delicious Chinese buffet ordered from a fabulous menu and delivered to your table! This place had some amazing dishes and I frequented here often in the past. So when my friend moved to Harrow we decided to have a reunion at this lovely restaurant. It’s open from 12 noon to 2:30 for lunch. So on the 1st attempt my friend arrived at 2:00 due to some horrendous traffic. We were told we could only order take away as the kitchen closes at 2:00 but open for take out until 2:30! We explained that one of us just drove 25+ miles to dine here again as a former frequent customer. Sadly we were told they couldn’t accommodate us. We attempted to bring past memories to life again and my friend again drove across London but came across heavy bank holiday traffic on Saturday 31st March. We arrived at 1:50pm and once again we were told that we could only have take away as they did not want to rush us! Why open for lunch if you can only accommodate people for around an hour and half from 12 noon! Might be the reason why the restaurant was empty at 1:50pm on bank holiday Saturday. Time to close at lunch time if you can’t provide appropriate service! Harvester welcomed us with open arms on both occasions!

For about £18.00 per head you could choose whatever you wanted from an extensive menu. You could order as much as you liked. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We couldn't beleive how quickly the food arrived at our table and it was always hot. The lager was about £4.00 a pint which is good for a restaurant. There was a service charge of 10% but only on the food not on the drinks. Because of the quality of the food and the prompt service we would have paid this amount anyway. We certainly will be going again.

I have visited this restaurant several times over the past few years and have always found the food to be consistently good. The one failing is that the staff are at best, distant, and at worst, unfriendly!A friend and I arrived there at 2.25pm last Sunday, and were told by (I am assuming) the Manager, that we only had one hour to order and eat - which was fine - that was followed by him informing us that the 'Sunday Lunch Special' had finished and we were only able to order from the a la carte menu. I pointed out to him that according to the web-site, it clearly states that the 'Sunday Lunch Special' is available from 12.00pm - 3.30pm. He was insistent, and was not going to oblige us, so we left. Maybe the web-site should be updated or maybe the staff should be made familar with its contents.

Collection. Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and when home, saw that they were prawn balls. Phoned and told me were too busy to deliver so would have to come and collect. That would have meant all other food would have gone cold. This really ruined the family meal and even though a refund was offered, that would not stop the take away being ruined. Also, very careless as some people are allergic to prawns.

We took my dad here for Fathers Day and the set price Sunday lunch was very good value for money. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the staff were very polite and the service was fast. The food was very hot and fresh and there was lots of it. It was all really delicious and full of flavour. The prawn toast was thick and tasty, the chicken satay was lovely, the duck and pancakes were brilliant (that must have been one huge duck when it was alive!). All of the main dishes were again really large, fresh and tasty. None of us could have eaten any more, you certainly get a lot for your money. The only little quibbles were that the drinks were a tad expensive and there is no wheelchair access as there is one step into the main entrance and one step into the dining area.

Called in for the lunch special, two courses or £8.95 i think it was, food was nice enough, service was ok. Place wasn't busy and it was a pretty cold day outside, staff all had coats on and there was no sign of any heating so sat there feeling decidedly cold. Bit mean I thought. Bill came to over £30 which on reflection was pretty steep for a quick lunch for two, having soup, noodles and sweet and sour chicken plus a couple of beers. Likely to seek out an alternative if in the area again.

I have been here many times, the food is good, drinks menu limited but Ok. We called and booked for Valentine's Day, when we arrived we were given a regular menu with the £16.99 prices clearly stated nothing was said to us about changes. we ordered food and all was good. When the bill came we were charged 25.99 each instead of £16.99 each, when we queried the waitress said you would have been told on the phone which of course we were not. I think it was her job to tell us when she gave us the menu or at least advertise it in the window. Nothing extra was offered to substantiate this price increase. As a result I won't be going back out of principle and we often had birthday, girlie evening out there so it's Defo their loss.

I visited here with a large group of people to celebrate a birthday – there were around 20 of us in total. The all you can eat option is very good – when ordering our starters they suggested bringing a selection of everything out on platters – you could then order more of whatever you wanted once it was gone. The waiters then brought out the 2nd course which was 3 huge plates of duck, together with some plates of lamb and pancake rolls etc. Then you order your main where you can order whatever you want – as many dishes as you like! If you're a big eater then you will have a whale of a time. Overall the food was ok. The starters and 2nd course were nicer than the mains in my opinion – the chicken in the mains looked and tasted like chewy processed meat. There was so much food that we asked to take the leftovers home because it seemed a huge waste but we wasn’t allowed to do that. The thing which lets this restaurant down is the staff. They are the most miserable bunch of people I have been served by in a long time – it was really hard to get a word or a smile out of them – and when they did smile it was a quick smirk and then straight back to their moody faces. Can it really be that bad?

This restaurant serves good food but it states on the Sunday buffet menu that it's eat as much as you like!!! Well there's starters, duck course, main, rice & noodle courses, we enjoy the starters the most so we decided to order some more starters before having our crispy duck course but was told by the waiter that we couldn't order anymore starters until we had completed all the other courses, so we were a little annoyed about this!!! All in all the food is good, the service is quite quick, you almost feel you're being rushed, well I did, and they stick a 10% service charge on your bill before you tip them!!! Also on the Sunday buffet menu you can only order 1 main dish per person, and seeing as it's a buffet we like to try a selection of different dishes. I live round the corner from this restaurant and attend regularly at family meals (we made a tradition of going their Christmas Eve). One day we stopped, when the management changed, that is until...On my brother's birthday he wanted to go there again and, despite our skepticism, we went. The food was delicious and we have been twice more with the same high standard. It is like a buffet, but you order the food and it is cooked and served accordingly (so, like a buffet but the food hasn't been sitting in a metal tin for hours). They were happy to serve additional portions and, while the buffet did cost around £16, we certainly made our money's worth. At first I thought the management was a bit brisk, but we quickly realised it was just his way. He was perfectly friendly, but just had a bit of a stern sounding voice. Is it the best restaurant in the world? Quite frankly, no. But it is one of the restaurants with the best value for money, especially when compared to most of Romford's restaurants... I would recommend anyone in the Romford/Hornchurch/Chadwell Heath area to give this place a go.

We visited this restaurant as it looked uite good value. The buffet meal price isn't bad for an "eat as much as you like" the problem is that its not cooked to order.Once you've made a selection the watier disappears and then reappears about 2mins later with your order! So it's quite obviuos the food is just heated and sent out. Most of what we had tasted, and looked like, it had come from Hoo Hing the chinese wholesalers in Chadwell Heath. When we go out for the evening we don't want to be served at the speed of light! We want a nice relaxed evening but in this and most other chinese restaurants the waiters seem to hover around you all the time trying to make you speed up, however, we always end up asking them to back off and it does the trick.Plus there was only one other couple in the restaurant so I don't think the waiters had that much to do, I don't think we'll be going back there.

I have used this place for many years but its gone downhillRecent change of manager and all the staff has destroyed this placeOnce one of the better Chinese restuarants but sadly not any moreSpecialises in eat as much as you like off the menu at £16.95 PLUS 10% serviceWhat the don't tell you is that they have reduced the food quality and the more you order the smaller the portion getsTo serve so called crispy seaweed mixed with around 75% crispy noodles is just not on so I asked for the original type to be includedThey argued that I can only have it if I paid extra!Same goes for a portion of chips! They tried to charge full price for my 7 year old grandson!Reduced it to £11 when challenged and the same price for our 2 year old baby!!!BUT kids over 8 are charged the full priceI estimate that over the years I have spent at least £15,000 in this restuarant so for me to complain meant I was seriously unhappyWhen I said I will never return manager just said she did not care and that it was up to meA note to the ownerSort out your staffThey are rude, arrogant, untrained, and have no customer skills whatsoever. You pay peanuts you get monkeys!!

Absolutely lovely. The best salt and pepper prawns you can get. The best salt and pepper wings you can get. Best bbq ribs you can get. Absolutely rapid delivery service. Can't fault them, the woman that answers the phone is really nice to. @whatwehavingnow - on instagram for our full review & more vids/pics. (Like, comment, follow)

Well I was using you for years, but no longer, I won’t have attitude when I call to place an order and you answer the phone and leave me holding while I hear another phone being picked up in the background and taking an order down. If you don’t have enough staff to pick up a phone I suggest you employ additional staff and preferably without attitude to the customer. I’ve ordered an Indian instead, quicker, happy to take you’re money and can change any items on the menu without battering an eye lid. Have a think about what I have said and you might keep your customers you already have. It’s a shame but rudeness is unexceptable.

We bought a takeaway at the Brixton chopsticks because we were so tired from working. We thought we would treat ourselves. Unfortunately we didn’t treat ourselves. It was awful hardly any meat and tasteless. I didn’t eat mine in the end. I just doubled up on dessert I had a tiramisu, which was delicious. I would not recommend chopsticks.

been a loyal customer to this restaurant for 10+ years, always spend £40+ when we order about once month, daughter loves the mini spring rolls, they come with orders over a certain £ and were on my order tonight but didn't turn up, called the restaurant and was told " THEY WERE FREE ANYWAY SO WE DONT NEED TO GIVE THEM TO YOU" but why order them twice in case they decide not to send them, prawn crackers were a day old as well, chewed on them that much I could have blown bubbles with them.
