We were staying in Yealmpton & ordered delivery...its very good, just make sure you have cash...they don't take cards.

Great food and service, very reasonably priced. A bit annoying that it’s cash only but other than that it’s a great spot for a takeaway.

Just to point out that Ming’s at Yealmpton is a take away and cash only. That’s not a problem but good to know before turning up. Telephoned our order for 7pm pickup. All ready on arrival and excellent service from the young man behind the counter. Got home (15 min drive) and everything was still piping hot, ready to eat and really delicious. We chose a set menu with a couple of extras which was good value. Very happy to recommend Mings from this experience. Thank you Ming !

Had a delivered takeaway from this restaurant and to say it was fantastic is an understatement. Good quality ingredients, fantastic taste, really hot, delivered on time and plenty of it. Best takeaway I’ve ever had.

Always delicious, best satay we've had in a takeaway as we're recently disappointed by so many. We pick up and so never issues with delays and staff are always friendly. Just wish they'd post the menu online as I always forget prices etc.

Had a great takeaway from the Ming in Yealmpton last night. Ordered by phone, food delivered within the 30 - 35 minutes promised. Arrived hot and very flavoursome. Payment is cash only and there is no online menu, but the lady who answered the phone was very helpful and when we described the kind of food we were looking for she narrowed down and described the menu options which might fit the bill. We were not disappointed!!

Got order wrong despite repeating multiple times and overcharged by £8. Waited an hour and a quarter for our order.... witnessed numerous other co*k ups whilst waiting. To be fair, we got a significant discount and the food was nice but service shocking tonight 😒

Avoid at all costs. Got the wrong order…but food was utterly disgusting. Easily the worse Chinese I’ve ever eaten. Don’t waste your money.

What a delicious takeaway this was!!!! We ordered the Ming gourmet set meal for two as we wanted to try something a bit different. Every single dish was cooked beautifully, it was tender, fresh and delicious!!! I am really impressed and cannot wait to order again soon!!

Not impressed with the delivery wait on mother's day ordered at 6pm didn't arrive till 7.55pm had to phone to ask where our order is asked for no mushrooms in the curry came with them curry was very runny sauce

Staying near Noss Mayo and out in the wilderness a bit, this was the only delivery restaurant. So good, we used it twice in 1 week. Good price, tasty food, large portions and delivery very good value - saved us a journey. Cash only and no online presence/ordering, which in this day and age was the one thing that could've been improved.

Ordered a variety of dishes for friends in Sparkwell, the food was delivered on time by a very pleasant gentleman. The food was very hot and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, mainly disappointed with Chinese take aways, but not with Ming in Yealmpton. I would not hesitate to use again based on the enjoyment everyone experienced.

We were a bit unsure to try Mings due to the previous reviews but tried it for ourselves and pleasantly surprised! Its now our go to Chinese for a take away. Always a good portion and great selection to choose from and we often try something new. We haven't had a bad meal from here once.

Moved to Yealmpton 13 years ago and tried it then and it was poor! Was persuaded to try again as a couple of people had said it had got better - it has not!! The service by the staff was great, efficient and polite. However food quality was poor and tasteless. Unfortunately shall not be trying again!

A long overdue update on this restaurant and its a zero hygiene rating. What ever caused the horrendous rating was very quickly attended to and it was fully operational again very soon. We have used its home delivery service several times since and everything was of good quality and most tasty. I fully recommend it once again. Should have written this long ago.

This takeway has seriously improved from it beginnings. I have now had several takeaways all of which have been delivered promptly ahead of time. Food is always hot and great quality. Well done Ming!

I organised for a group of friends to eat in here late one evening. We all very much enjoyed the evening. The food was excellent or outstanding both in quality and value for money. The range of drinks was also good. Prior to this visit I had assumed it was only the takeaway I had enjoyed from time to time. Delighted to find they could seat and feed a crowd of us so well. It must be up there with the best in the region. Those in wheel chairs and with special needs were also well catered for.

I am shocked at the bad comments about the food here. I have used them from the day they opened. I even had a sit in meal with family from London. They loved it. People do make mistakes, we are only human. But to run a business down on the Internet i think is unforgivable. It's someone's living. Buy hey, i love a good Chinese take a way. I for one will be going back.

Ordered a simple takeaway for four people and waited for 2 1/2 hours for it to rock up. When it did it was stone cold and the wrong order. My wife called to tell them and they offered to replace wrong order but the wife wasn't having that so demanded a whole fresh order and complete return, she was told that it would be a further 30 minutes and after 45 minutes they rang to say that they don't have any drivers available so we had to have this food with a discount on the next order.No I drove over and my wife went into the shop where 2 of the drivers were sat waiting for work. She was told then that we could keep the cold and incorrect order and have a refund but they can stick their cold food right up their ar*e

Phoned an order through and after a two hour wait the food arrived and not one meal was correct!!When we phoned them we were told to more or less accept it, the food we were charged for was more expensive than the order we made and after struggling to strike a compromise we were left waiting a further 45 minutes ford the food which was definitely below average cold despite being less than 2 miles away no more will I order from them.....

First time i have used this place and i am a very discerning customer and am reasonably accomplished at cooking chinese food myself but everything was 10/10 .the vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection the meat was of good quality and tender and flavoursome. Im already looking forward to the next takeaway!

Have used the Ming for Take Away and Home Delivery on may occasions and have always been pleased with what we got. However, we have just learned that that they got a Zero rating in their latest food safety hygeine inspection! Do we risk it next time? There are several other outlets locally.

We used to have a take-away from here on average 3 times a month.

Went in for evening meal, we were given a basket of prawn crackers whilst we ordered our food . We ordered a bottle of wine when the waitress delivered our prawn crackers . After 15 minutes , still no wine, no waitress, had to leave as our eyes were smarting with the cooking smoke filled restaurant. We were the only people in the restaurant, appalling

Decided to try this Chinese as the Golden Bridge in Ivybridge is awful & although I like it, my friend doesn't like the Joy King. The place is a bit dank but we weren't eating in. Ordered a set meal for 1, crispy duck in plum sauce, spicy noodles & a portion of chips. The sweet & sour sauce was horrible (this was in the set meal) but the rest of the food was ok, would I order from here again, probably not. The best Chinese takeaway in my opinion is the china chef in Plympton.

O el hecho de que el negocio es aún en los reinos de la edad oscura, y con eso me refiero, como ya se mencionó. El lugar está infestado con la humedad, si eso no es suficientemente malo, estás entonces cobraron 50 pence cobran por el privilegio de utilizar la máquina de tarjeta.

We've had a Ming takeaway numerous times in the last 3 years. All I can say is its consistently very good. Delivery on a busy night is within the hour, food is very tastey and cheaper compared to others. Highly recommend.

Ordered thai red curry. Whatever it was that they brought round, it certainly was nothing resembling thai red curry. When I called to complain that I had been sent the wrong thing, the person answering the phone just insisted I had been given the correct order and couldn't care less. The food was absolutely disgusting, never eat here.

We have had several phone ordered/delivered meals over the past couple of years and each one has arrived within the timescale given. The food has been hot and fresh. On the one occasion a dish was missing, we phoned and it arrived within minutes along with a complimentary dish as compensation.I cannot support the very negative comments made by some contributers.

We have had a few takeaways from Old Mother Hubbards over the years and they have all been good. Always arrives within the time slot quoted by a friendly smiling face freshly cooked and reasonable price. What more could you ask?

So using the just eat app we decided that we had had enough of Christmas meals so decided to order from here as it clearly said it was open. We placed the order at 5 pm and as the conversation flowed we did not notice the time, so 3 hours later and the food had not arrived. We called them only to be told by a rude lady that they are closed. We explained the situation and the response was "well you need to take that up with app you used".So we won't be using them again.

I am not a regular consumer of fast food, but when I have ordered from them the food has been perfectly acceptable. Not overpriced and delivered in the timeframe alloted. We recently had a couple of friends around for a Friday evening and none of us were disappointed.The ordering system was straightforward and the price was instantly quoted.We have also eaten at the restaurant and the service was good.My 3/5 rating would probably be at least 4/5 if i wasn't souch a fan of my wife's homecooking.All in all pretty good

We ordered a take away to be delivered as we had a guest. We ordered by phone at 5pm for the delivery to be made at 19:30(plenty of notice we thought!). It got to 19:45 and nothing had arrived so called to see what was happening. We were told they were busy and it wasn't ready. Great!! So we obviously aired our frustrations and asked for a refund, they said it would be ready soon, but they hadn't left yet so I said we should have a discount as we had booked it 2 hours ago. The response I got was "I can't do that, you have already paid" needless to say we won't be ordering there again. They are unreliable and rude.

food was edible but meat was over cooked and very chewy sweet and sour ball were doughy/gooey not quite cooked. even the fortune cookie said 'everything can be improved' and that is true with this place. food did arrive on time fortune cookies and prawn crackers for free are a nice touch though
