Mimi's Bakehouse - Comely Bank in Edinburgh, City of

The croissants were stale you get better ones in Aldi. These were dense and just so wrong, hardly any butter content just doughy hard and awful.

On our arrival, we were given menus and pointed to a table. We then waited such a long time we wondered if we had to order at the counter. When we enquired we were told it was table service. The menu is limited, basically sandwiches, toasties or soup. The prices are unbelievable for what you get: £30 for two toasties, a coffee and a cold drink!

Very disappointing lunch we had today, waited ages to be served, looking around at the other customers gave me the impression they felt the same! Coffee arrived cold but after waiting so long, I thought best not to ask for another. The lunch was basic, very over priced! Cakes tasted stale, not fresh, these were also overpriced! Unfortunately, there was also children climbing and screaming on booths, which the parents nor waitress stopped despite everyone else in the cafe struggling to hear each other! My advice would if you don’t want to be disappointed, don’t go, choose somewhere else! Definitely don’t go during the school holidays! :-(

Stopped off for a “quick” family lunch. Service was next to non existent. Just after 12 o’clock on a Sunday and they had already sold out of croissants and brioche rolls. Waited ages for food to arrive even though it wasn’t particularly busy. Sandwiches were dry with no butter or mayo, handful of tortilla crisps on the side were stale. Won’t be back!

I visit often but thought I’d write a review this time, my daughter and I find this mimis so cosy, warm and welcoming. Obviously the cakes and food are delicious but it’s being in a place with a lovely atmosphere that makes it! Will be back……next week most likely.
