Used the ladies toilets they where disgusting,spoke to a manager showed him a photo of what i walked into,told me he would phone cleaner,i was sat with my daughter fo 15 mins having sandwich no phone call made,i have been complaining about these toilets for nearly 2 years,even spoke to store manager Collette who said the toilets where checked (so every time i use them) they couldn't have been checked as they are minging,build up everywhere!!!Not acceptable they think these toilets are fine for customers to use 😡 photo is what i walked into

Fresh pizza section nothing fresh about it

Don't usually do this sort of thing but feel I have to on this occasion,was in the pharmacy a few weeks ago after my wife who was enquiring about an inhaler was laughed out of the shop by the sarcastic guy behind the counter! When I confronted him and the pharmacist about how they treated my wife an argument broke out in wich the pharmacist was very abusive and prejudice (won't say racist) against me! I spoke to one of the managers to put an official complaint against both these people who should never be working with the public and was told she would look into it??? I've never heard anything back so I went in to collect a prescription yesterday to be told I was banned from the pharmacy??? I find it incredible how this shop is run and how the sarcastic laurel and hardie couple who work in the pharmacy are actually in a job!!! Ban or not would never set foot in this place again!!

Horrible feeling in pain just wanted to go to the chemist and forced to walk around the store..... felt like a sheep being herded

Think it's terrible that Asda is making disabled people walk around an unnecessary way to access the chemist. Complete discrimination to disabled people. Don't go there if you have trouble walking or are sick.

Large ASDA supermarket. We visited this store during our trip to Edinburgh. Lots of products, wide range. The supermarket is clean, but the toilet is not very good. For a store like this it could have been better. Huge parking lot, with a lot of parking spaces, but these parking spaces are narrow and not very convenient.

Full off out of date stuff the brothers have done a bad job since taking over from wall mart. Empty shelfs -my corner shop Is better stocked!

Staff are always friendly and helpful- Kim especially was wonderful to speak to tonight

What happened to Asda Jewel??? Empty shelves, mess, disorder and general sense of misery.

Went there yesterday for a big shop...used the self serve tills, not the scan and go...if I could split the review I would give 5 stars for the lovely staff member Janet, who was on duty and no stars for the stupid till, that let us scan everything bar one item, then it decided to break down..we had to move to another till and Janet helped re-scan and pack our shopping...in future we'll only go to a human till operator as they are far more efficient.

Today around 8:50 PM I met Rebecca, the customer service agent. I was feeling quite light headed due to stress and also did lots of shopping. When I felt ill, I requested for assistance. She rushed to bring a chair to assist me. I’ll never forget such kind gesture. I wish her all the best. Sameya

One of the brightest freshest cleanest Asdas in town, certainly a lot nicer than the sad tired old Chesser one but all the prices seem a bit higher than most with the exception of Waitrose and the M&S next door, even the final reductions were only a third off late evening so really I couldn't summon the enthusiasm to buy any more than the four pints of milk I needed, fine if you're stuck with them but I'd be more tempted by any of the other big chains if they weren't so inconveniently far away.

Placed an order on just eat at 5pm for some items for my dinner, waited 3 hours and they cancelled it!? With no communication at all!!

It's big ASDA. It's full of all the items you know, love and expect. Worthy of a visit for a quick shop or bigger shops depending on your needs.

Just wouldn't buy electrical toasters or microwaves as they don't work properly had to buy 3 of each over last year and last toaster was sparking and brand new amd they won't refund u if u don't have receipt

My first trip to Asda in a while. Lots of bargains but most prices on par with Sainsbury's.

Had a full breakfast, everything was stale and hard. Except from the eggs because they are made to order.

The male toilets are black. Wouldn’t let the homeless sleep in there. Awful

There are never any baskets and the man that restocks the alcohol shelves has an attitude problem.

Went shopping in the jewel today about 1.45pm I have to say how saddened I am to see such a state this store has been become it used to be bussing AND I used to complain about how much money I spent not anymore the stores a disgrace empty shelves cardboard everywhere no staff and the toilets were filthy toilet seats broken and left sanitary bins overflowing humen extreta daubed all over the seats I could have been sick if the managres had a walk round now and again she would see for herself are they running asda into the ground it's such a shame and I feel sorry for the staff that have to work there shame on the management for letting it get into such a state I won't be shopping there any longer dread to think what the food warehouse looks like if they cannot keep 6 toilets clean

Staff member was shouting and swearing in the car park. She was claiming she could not get in her boot and she demanded the man move his van. Extremely rude and not how I would expect Asda to be represented. The security guard Douglas also witnessed this happening. Asda employee was behaving very unprofessionally. A disgrace to the Asda brand!

Once again the shelves are bare. Fruit and veg aisle very limited to zero Forget looking for fish or chicken Same old excuse, we are waiting for a delivery but we don't know when it will arrive. I normally go to Sainsbury but I thought I would give Asda another chance, sadly they disappoint once again. This happens on a regular basis. If you are running out of stock, why not call one of your competitors like Sainsbury (who are never out of products) and they'll see you through until your elusive delivery arrives. I went in today with my severely Autistic son. I take him all the time. He's fond of eating ice cream which I pay for at every shopping trip. Today was no different. I just had this horrible worker verbally abuse me, backed by lies from eight people that my son had attacked them within a space of 20 mins! He is ten years old! I live alone with him and if he was that violent as they claimed, I would be covered in bruises. I have never seen such callousness, abuse and discrimination over a child who is literally helpless. I was outnumbered and bullied. I fought back but the horrible manager called the police to escort me. To all those v who lied on us today, thank you. Thankfully not everyone is like you.Afterwards, we went to three different shops; Tesco, BnM, a d a Chinese shop who were very helpful through his challenges. Shame on you. I have written to the CEO, and factored in my GP,my son's social worker, a headteacher. But by my God, I will not spend a dime in Asda for as long as I live. The Manager kept insisting everything has been captured on camera! Great! I would like to see it capture when my son allegedly attacked eight people. You can't be this racist and discriminatory

Visited this store today, went for a sandwich. Went to the loo while we were there, There's only one word to describe the toilets here, DISGUSTING, POO AND WEE ALL OVER.

Lately l have been getting my shopping 🛍 delivered to me due to my very poor health. The food is fine the prices are decent and the delivery driver's are all very kind helpful and friendly of which I'm very grateful to them. Thank you to all the team 🙏.

I have just visited Asda at Leith, next to Fort Kinaird. I went to use the gents toilets and was disgusted with what I saw. All the cubicles were broken, only one cubical had a working lock but was overflowing with faeces, one cubical was missing a door. The accessible toilet was not accessible, you had to be escorted by the security staff who unlocked the door for you, Why it’s not left unlocked is unclear to me. What a disgrace from a major supermarket. I spoke to staff who were indifferent to my complaint, only saying they get cleaned. I asked why the locks and door wren’t repaired, she said I don’t know. What an embarrassment. Up your game Asda, spend some of your profits.

Super efficient service, 10 out of 10!!

You just can’t have kids running a place where people eat. We waited 10 minutes whilst the supposed serving staff discussed how much soup they had for the pensioners in front of us in the queue. We walked out and so did the people behind us..

Always get what I need but what's the situation with carrier bags. Can't remember the last time there were any available. Today I overheard someone ask for one to be told no and we only have £3 ones. No other shop I go to has no bags. This needs addressing. Great store, always well stocked when I'm there, loads of choice and fair pricing. Just sort out the bags. Staff could smile more too ( bakery not included as they seem happy) Life is short.

Asda at The Jewel has gone rapidly downhill lately. Not enough staff, pizza counter no pizzas and have to order then come back later. Shelves empty, over a dozen items I needed not in stock. Gluten free section was empty of bread and GF no gravy or oats. So many other things completely missing from shelves. It's meant to be the biggest supermarket in town but it is the worst stocked. They aren't employing enough staff. The staff they do have are lovely, but due to corporate greed, they make the few work harder and above their pay grade, meanwhile shelves aren't filled. The clothes section also now looks like a jumble sale. What happened, used to be so much better? Not enough manned tills open, it's a massive hypermarket how do you expect us to run a whole trolley full of goods through a self service till. So had to wait in large queue. And don't give me the standard reply that you've noted my comments and will update management. Obviously this isn't happening as similar reviews to mine going back over a year. Listen to your customers.

If you’re going to a have a Google Reviews QR code on your counters, you should have good customer service to go with it. I’m in the queue at lunch time, there’s 1 staff member at the counter, and 3 more floating about trying to look busy, meanwhile the queue is extended out into the Asda store. Not good enough.

I was shocked yesterday after visiting the ladies toilet in your store they were disgusting. Half the toilets didn't flush some of the cubicles didn't have toilet paper and others had the paper in so tight it was impossible to get it out.As for the floor it hadn't seen a mop for I don't know how long.Come on The Jewel take a leaf out of Asda Dunbar there toilets are spotless 5 star's for them!!

Decided to shop at Asda at the Jewel spent 90 mins choosing what I needed and scanned through self service £90 + looked for carrier bags but couldn't see any so asked 3 workers who appologised that there were no carrier bags of any type ... what was wrong that managent couldn't of made an announcement over the tannoy which would have saved me shopping and the food from fridges and freezers being out causing a possible health risk to others . The 3 workers said they would put my shopping back .

It says open 24hrs yet I went in on a Sunday night at 9.30 and was told by the security staff "we close in half an hour", everyone else was told "we close at 10pm". So actual fact it's not 24hrs. Locals say they do it all the time. I know this store has had alot of hassle from youths but they are even closing when there's no disorder happening. I am not impressed as I have really bad health that affect my mobility so can't hurry about and can only go out when I get a few hours were my mobility is a bit better. Also their chicken is always a bit dodgy and their mince goes off before the "alledged" sell by date.

When is Asda going to do something about the pizza counter went again today to find out the poor girl who was there was there herself again and was apologetic saying it was closed as there was no staff and she was finishing her shift. Most of the time you go there the queue is huge and the poor staff are frantically trying to take orders and make them at the same time meanwhile today it was closing no staff !!! but there where 6 people all with Asda badges on standing in the drink aisle talking this is not the first time it has closed Asda seriously need to find a better system or employ more people or even better get the “management” helping disgraceful !!!

They need to sack the manager. Stock is dreadful and no bags continually. Does he know ANYTHING about stock control? Utterly useless.

This store is truly grubby. As can be seen from the photos the toilets in a Saturday evening were disgusting and absolutely stinking. The shop itself was full of empty shelves, dirt on the floors and empty boxes across the shop. Asdas standards have really fallen below the belt lately. Food safety disaster

Avoid during peak times! Frequently the car park becomes paralysed, today for example it took 53mins from when I got back into my car to make it out the car park.

The pizza counter is a joke, always under staffed and no pre made stock. Need to wait like 30 - 40 minutes on a pizza being made when your sometimes not in store that long. Iv complained to Asda directly and they say they will improve on this and I will notice an improvement which doesn’t happen. I realise they don’t want a lot of waste from unsold pizzas, but surely from the orders they take they can see what is the popular ones and have some of these pre-made.

I had a really bad experience today. My husband and I came here to shop at 9:02 PM. We picked up the shopping cart on the way. As we were making our usual payment and heading home, Asda's trolley got stuck by the door. Then a security guy came up and asked for our receipt. Since I never take receipt, I don't have it in my hand. And then he said to check the cameras, and I said okay. But he spoke to me in poor words and then ignored my reply. He treated me like a Junkie, a regular customer who had been shopping in this supermarket for more than a year, and implicitly assumed that I had stolen something. I was so angry. I said I could take you to my payment counter to check my payment history, and he ignored me. He treated a loyal Asda customer with the same look and attitude as a thief. Any problems with Trolley should not be paid by a loyal customer who came here to spend money for a long time. I had no complaints about the second security guy who was a bit darker skinned, he had a great attitude, he respected me and explained to me why he stopped me. But the attitude of the first security guy and the way he spoke made me feel disrespected and insulted. I really wanted to talk to the manager directly, but my husband kept dragging me home. I would like to say that it was because of the first security guy that I decided to never shop at Asda again, he made me feel insulted and disrespected. I come here as a consumer and I don't deserve this treatment. After I waited for over 10 minutes they checked the cameras, saw we weren't thieves and let us go. What I want to say is that, first of all, the problem with the trolley is not my fault. I am just an ordinary customer who comes here to shop. Every time I come here, I take the same route and push the similar trolley. Secondly, it's not my fault that I didn't take the receipt. The self-service payment machine has the option to not take the receipt. As an environmentalist, I save paper for the planet. Third, to stop a loyal consumer when you are not sure if it is the trolley's fault. You, as a security guy should have a good attitude, instead of saying what you want to say and then ignoring me and treating me with the same attitude of examining and treating junkie! I come here to spend money, why should I be discriminated against like this? Fourth, I understand that there are a lot of lost things in large retail supermarkets, but I shouldn't have to pay for them. After wasting 10 minutes of my life, you have no apologies to me? Finally, I feel very uncomfortable about the way I was treated today. Because of the terrible experience I had today, I decided not to come back anymore. Who knows if the next time I come shopping here as usual, my trolley will get stuck in the doorway again and I will be insulted again, after I spent a lot money here?? excuse me?

The biggest store in Edinburgh but by far the poorest stocked. We live almost half way between this store and the one at Straiton. I used to switch between the two but this last year the stock / availability of items in this one has become poorer and poorer. I stopped going around two months ago but gave it a go again yesterday. So many shelves were empty I was unable to do my weekly shop. I don’t understand what the problem is when the Straiton branch, Chesser branch and even the Dalgety Bay branch seem to be able to keep themselves stocked more efficiently.

A few days ago, the Asda delivery guy gave us shreddies, however, they were out of date for more than a year ago!!! Absolutely disgusting!!! Looks like they don’t care about food poisoning, they need to be more careful to read the best before dates!!! Atrocious!!!

Absolutely disgusting place, doors on fridges need cleaned, floors need scrubbed, shelving needs filled, pizza counter wait of 30 minutes with no pizzas on sale at 4pm Friday past, cardboard everywhere, end shelves with no stock, very minimal stock of juice, bring back the previous manager as clearly this store has a new one. Been a year or so last in the store, was so disappointed at the state of the place, rotten veg bags sitting 3 days out of date floors must have been washed with dirty mops, stock low freezes boxes burst open food lying in freezer box

I have shopped here for over 30 years and would love a director or manager to walk round the shop , it is an absolute mess , fridges and shelves half empty with empty boxes lying on every shelf Nearly every aisle has rubbish lying on the floors . I have recently went into Morrisons & Tescos to get items not on Asda shelves and none of their stores show the same mess . Very sad to think I will now be going elsewhere to shop . Asda @the jewel

This is the 3rd time i have been here that i have been short changed at the till. This time the excuse was potential heat stroke! Please be careful and check your change. I am not the 1st person this has happened to that i personally know. I only ise this cafe as its convenient for my elderly granny otherwise i would avoid.

Never been here before, it's definitely the best ASDA we've been to, more like a major shopping mall, a really good ASDA pizza outlet, great value, recharged the batteries of collecting our son after completing the Edinburgh half marathon. Highly recommended.

Nice and big supermarket with what you need from groceries, household stuffs, to clothings. Parking space is awesome.

Geweldige winkel! Heerlijk groot en hierdoor ook een uitgebreid assortiment aan producten, en niet alleen boodschappen! De entree is prachtig eerst loop je langs alle aanwezige voorzieningen en daarna loop je zo de supermarkt in dus geen gedoe dat je door poortjes geen moet. Alles is open waardoor je je als klant welkom voelt. Ook zijn er hier een mega hoeveelheid zelfscan kassa's aanwezig, gewoon geweldig want er is er altijd een beschikbaar. Ben je in de buurt? As a wheelchair user I was extremely disappointed that there is only 1 wheelchair trolley available in a store this size so if i had been shopping on my own it would have been impossible trying to wheel myself and a trolley as it was my husband had to push me while I was trying to push a large trolley, i would have thought in this day and age shops would be more accommodating accommodating.abut sadly this is not the case

Hi me & my mum where at you’re store yesterday and my mum go barred by 2 security guards to me I thought you just need one security guard to a customer to explain what’s is happening and when the security guards were beside my mum the alarm went of and not one of them done anything

5 years ago, i said this "Another frustrating visit with poor quality self-service equipment coupled with dismissive staff..." I was in the area and tried again. It's the worst supermarket I have been to. Only the staff (there were hard to spot) deserve one star. Asda and the management of this store need to listen seriously to custome reviews and change your approach. We all have options, and I will not return to Asda until changes are made. I provided feedback to the Customer Services person (very friendly and helpful), and they said more manual tills were to be removed for self-service ones. I pointed out the lengthy queues at the manual tills and asked why Asda doesn't provide services that customers want?

No electric car charging points. Car park is absolutely filthy with rubbish caught in all the surrounding landscaping. Prices are terrible compared to other chains and the rice is undercooked at the sushi bar.

A disgrace. Lots of stock in the wrong place and items left all over the place, rubbish on the shelves. A terrible shopping experience. The prices don't justify such a mess, it's not even that cheap.

After the order being 30 mins late the driver gave me the wrong order and due to him going away so quick I couldn’t ask him to check this as he has obviously mixed them up, i then couldn’t contact ASDA KITCHEN EDINBURGH as after 5 minutes on the phone and going through all the options the automated voice just told me told go the website, then after completing a refund process your response is to get back within 48 hours which means nothing as you ruined my lunch with a friend and iam now down money until yous sort this out as usual another company with terrible customer service, I will no longer use ASDA KITCHEN EDINBURGH or JUST EAT as the whole process of dealing with a wrong order is ridiculous and stressful what happened to just calling up and then sending a new order or having the driver circle back I’am now sat in my house furious, without my order and now down money until you decide to deal with this and just to annoy me more the order that was sent can’t even be eaten due to allergies. One star isn’t even right there should be an option for zero star.

Visited 27/12. Stuff all over the place. Pricing confusing because of badly stacked shelfs. Staff morale the worst I've seen. Virtually no eggs. The car park and surroundings strewn with rubbish. Overpriced petrol. Nice toaster though.

The staff are always helpful and polite. My one bugbear is the stock availability when I shop there (normally late afternoon due to work) especially on fresh food special offers. It looks like the shelves are filled through the night only and not restocked during the day. You must be losing so much sales due to this. I used to do my weekly shop here but iI’m afraid it’s more than likely to be just the basics like bread and milk now.

the toilets situated inside asda were a disgrace ! 17/10/22 no toilet toll , no hand towels piping hot water from taps my nephew almost burnt his hands on( no sign to say hot water) could barely wash my own hands it was that hot , then got outside and even the cleaning stations had no paper towels disgusting !!!

Asda cafe is an absolute disgrace barely any staff and the ones they have don’t know how to speak to people very unhelpful and rude and the food was over cooked I also used the toilets in the store and they are disgusting don’t know when they last had a good clean with Covid cases so high I would have thought it would be a priority to clean them thoroughly I won’t be back .

Groceries ok, but worst place to buy cigarettes and tobaco. If my gf told me to buy tobaco they told me that they can't answer question what is on list and if its just normal tobaco for cigarettes, except of showing me list she refused any help with finding out what on list is tobaco for cigarettes and in result she sold me wrong one: something for e-cigarettes I guess. In result: waste of money and tobaco addict on withdrawal symptoms.

Decided to have something to eat ,this was at1145,asked for a veggie breakfast,what I got was one tattie scone (tough as old boots), one hash brown,half a tomato ,one bit of black pudding and some beans,charged just under £5, the half tomato cost me 95p,wont be eating there again.

The new revamped customer services area and restaurants are pretty good upgrade to the store but the main store aisles are simply too narrow, especially at the freezer cabinets. Causes too much aggravation.

This store is complete and spacious. It's also convenient as it is open 24/7. prices are reasonable and they have wide variety of food to choose from

Visited the Asda cafe at the Jewel (Edinburgh) after shopping. Ordered macaroni and cheese and chips, two cokes and was charged £12.50! The macaroni was only warm, not hot, it was a tiny portion served from a bowl sitting on a hot plate. A small portion of chips, dried up and tasteless. The server asked if I wanted garlic bread, he didn’t mention this was an extra order so I said yes and got charged almost £2 for one slice of dried up cold garlic bread that you can buy a packet of 8 pieces for £1 in the shop. I was incredulous at the price; I used to go there several years ago and it was good value, that has certainly changed. Servers also lacked any customer service skills. Will never go back and would recommend you give it a miss too.

No signs to explain full shopping trolley should not be taken into the cafe but left out of sight.any one could take out or put anything into the trolley cafe wouldn't be responsible.food cold sat for hours before putting on the plate .staff have can't give bleep attitude .only nice person was the man clearing the tables .expensive crap visit won't be back and wouldn't recommend

Diabolical customer service on scan and go. Myself and another customer waited over 5 mins for an assistant to check our shopping as no staff in the area... OK I can understand things happen but maybe Janet should have said sorry for the delay. A simple apology goes miles

Bad for ,substitution food if I wanted another product ,I wouldn't have asked for said brand and close to sell buy alot ,always get fruit in packs like satsumas, grapes etc but asked for banana 🍌 pack and got 1 single banana twice sharp as the staff lol

I always find it better to shop early morning or late at night when it is less busy. Variety of selections , although did notice some of the staff not wearing their masks properly in store. Otherwise no issues.

Lazy staff can’t help find basic things
