This was our second visit as part of a tour group. The Brasserie is located with the small number of independent retail outlets at Milton of Crathes, which is also the location of the Royal Deeside Railway. We visited for lunch, where dietary requirements were also easily catered for. The food was very good and the service friendly and efficient for the large party. The brasserie has a pleasant ambiance in keeping with the surroundings, and we would visit individually if in the area.

We visited as a family of four for lunch. We were not pre-booked but we were accommodated for without any issues. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was top quality with lots of choices and suitable for all. We will definitely return and would highly recommend. Location is beautiful and ideal for walking so would also consider using their takeaway service next time!

Myself and family stopped by The Milton Brasserie for some drinks while walking the Deeside Way. After looking at their menu decided to have some lunch. Wow!! The food was amazing and we certainly left feeling like we had been fed. The staff were lovely and the restaurant itself is in a beautiful location. When visiting the area again, we will definitely be back.

Exceptionally unfriendly experience. Don't know about the food, they wouldn't serve us for another 45mins as they were waiting on a larger group, who weren't anywhere to be seen as far as we could see. Big let down as this was for a group of 7 foreign visitors, who just wanted a snack! Even if you couldn't serve us, which is of course entirely up to you. You could have 1. Showed some manners and 2. Been just a bit more helpful. Very disappointed, as I can see this place has received previous poor reviews relating to rudeness from staff. They may not have learned, but I have learned not to return. Great shame, as the Brasserie is within a lovely setting!

Nice busy and welcoming place. Service was slow, but they had a wake party in. Food was delicious and nice portions, but a tad expensive. A burger can with coleslaw, but fries were extra 🤷♂️. Would probably return if in the area again.

Came for a plate of soup after walk round Crathes. Although tasty, the size of the bowl was disappointing & cost for amount of soup that we got also. Especially when compared to other restaurants in the area. Will definitely consider about going there for food due to value for money.

First time visit since COVID we arrived at time and was put through to the dingy conservatory. I ordered a bacon roll it was ok but the smallest bun I have every seen. Bacon was under cooked. At £4.75 I felt ripped off. Some staff were scruffy and others obviously did not want to be there.

Our tour group was booked in for lunch at this restaurant, which is part of the Milton of Crathes visitor centre including the preserved Deeside Railway. The restaurant is located in one of the preserved buildings on the site. The food and drinks for our party were all very good. The staff were friendly and provided great service. If travelling independently in the area, we would visit again.

Superb baking amongst the best I've had in a nice location. However let down by poor service. There is a mature woman who seems to be in charge who just glares at everyone and the staff stand around the bar chatting. We had to go to them to be served even though it was quiet.

After a visit to the gallery at the Milton I went with friends and family to the Milton Brasserie for a coffee. It was drizzling outside and we wanted a warm friendly place to chat before heading home in different directions. Unfortunately we found the opposite - the waitresses looked really fed up, there was no atmosphere at all, the Maître d' barely lifted her head when we arrived and turned her back on us when we left. But the worst thing was that the coffee was the worst I've ever had. Not to moan too much but how is it possible to make such awful, bitter coffee with such a beautiful Italian coffee machine. I doubt I'll be back, shame as the place looks lovely from the outside.

We dined here on a small group tour. I ordered the lamb, which I returned to twice because it was cold. The second serving was microwaved, so it was hit, however the lamb was 90% fat and was revolting. Could not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

First visit and not bad. Coffee and tea fine. Plain scone and Papaye/white chocolate scone but very nice. Refills on the coffee a very nice touch. Restaurant looked a bit odd. People seemed to be being told to go and order their own drinks from the bar and queue for them. So, definitely not a place for dinner or lunch. Very pleasant for a coffee.

Used too be a favourite spot for coffee but the level of service offering these last 2 visits means we will never be returning. Our last visit this week with friends saw us getting a rather cool coffee which we drank quickly so we could get it refilled (free refills). After a long wait I had to go find someone to give us fresh coffee. Once this was finished we again had to search to get the coffees refilled. We were then told that a new policy was in place and only one refill was allowed. We had already said to the server the first lot was cold. The manager then appeared and told us we should have said the first one was cold. She refused to refill the cup saying we had already had a refill. I know things are getting tighter but speaking to customers in this way will not increase footfalls. I hope the cost savings this time will offset the profit from our frequent visits there…..I think not

Day Menu: Foam mattress bread roll with a rasher of rigid, greasy (fridge cold) streaky bacon; a thimble of coleslaw - plus obligatory potato chips. Having cycled with the grandchildren along the Deeside Way on a cold day, we were really looking forward to delicious hot drinks to have in the playground. The rest of the family all chose hot chocolate, whereas I had a dry cappuccino, which was first rate. However the hot chocolates were very pale and tasted like slightly flavoured warm milk. I took them back and asked for them to have more chocolate in. This was done, but even with the addition of a little more chocolate they didn’t taste like proper hot chocolate. Maybe hot chocolate is an unfair test of their culinary expertise, and to be fair my cappuccino was excellent, nevertheless it was disappointing.

You need to be aware that there are three parts to this place. A small coffee shop as you go in, the main restaurant and a sandwich shop (in the conservatory) that you access through the restaurant. We ate in the sandwich shop. A simple menu of soup sandwiches and cakes. Great service and good food. What more could you want? Well the scones are fabulous, with a 'special' flavour each day. Thankfully you can buy them to takeaway as they are too big to eat more than one.Be aware that they are sometimes booked for functions so its worth giving them a call before traveling any distance.

On seeing such lovely food presented and warm candle lit setting on their Facebook page, we thought we would go there for a Sunday lunch. It was liking visiting an old folks home. The setting was awful, the most unromantic of setting with stark lighting and very run down, not to mention the food which was terrible and highly over priced. The risotto was over cooked and inedible and was left. And my daughter couldn't even eat her pasta, again which was tasteless, over cooked and over priced. The service wasn't much better, you would of thought with the place being empty we would have received better service but the waitresses as polite as they were, just stood around at the counter and my partner got a cold espresso to finish of the bad meal. Start to finish just terrible. I would not go back again.

Part of the Milton of Crathes riverside group of shops, an art gallery and the restaurant. Basically it consists of 3 areas. 1. As you enter there are a group of @4 tables for 4. This used to be a waiting area with a roaring Eili tear fire and sofas. Then 2. Through the door and to the left is the coffee area fir great tea, coffee and scones and light lunches, basically in a conservatory area, excellent service, helpful staff. I was there today with my husband prior to a hospital visit. I had a very restricted diet but they found me something to eat and were just nice! Then 3 is the restaurant area, a reasonably large area with additional seating up a step or two. The food is very good, interesting soup, sandwiches etc. I believe the chef or one before was an award winner. We almost invariable go there around late morning or lunchtime. It's usually filling up as we leave. Today tables were filling before they'd been relaid. Not the restaurants fault! We've taken our kids there (26-33) and they enjoy it too.

This is my regular pit stop when I visit Crathes Gardens. There's a reach in with chilled sodas and bottles of water. I stop in for a bottle of water and the toilet. Recently, I've dined at this restaurant twice. The atmosphere is very Scottish and charming. You can opt for a coffee or tea and tray bake, a full lunch menu, or a sandwich board. I love their parsnip soup, don't miss it. I've ordered some form of smoked salmon twice, and the quality is a little lacking considering that Scotland produces the best salmon in the world. The salmon dish with quail eggs and Hollandaise was fabulous, except for the smoked salmon. I would rather pay a little more for better quality. The smoked salmon I buy at Asda is better than what I had here. That said, I will continue to take my guests here, because everything else is fantastic.

We booked this meal for 18 almost a year ago. The manager has had a few headaches in that time but kept us fully informed.

Had not booked for this stop but they managed to fit us in. For a Tuesday we expected it to be quiet and were surprised by the number of visitors present. The menu had a variety of options for us. Father in law picked Cullen Skink soup, mother in law opted for a burger (and would share it with her husband) I could not resist the hot roast beef sandwich. The waitresses were pleasant and helpful ensuring our needs were met. This is a delightful eatery which brought a smile to our faces and filled our bellies with satisfaction. Great place, great food and great welcome.

This evening my friends and I were out to enjoy ourselves having a lovely meal. But that did not go to plan, as we had to wait 2 and a half hours for our food! (one of my friends order a steak which was flavourless and the other order a starter which was completely disregarded when asked about) Although waiter was very accommodating and trying his best to make our meals come quicker, the whole place is severely understaffed causing backups throughout the whole restaurant. As our food was taking a long time we were told we could leave and not wanting to deal with us in that regard. Overall I am very disappointed in the service I received this evening, either this place has to cut down it customer intake or find a way to accommodate this volume of people.

We were there during the Haal festival and the restaurant was very efficiently run and the food was great.

Lovely food served by lovely staff. Great meal and very tasty food, well presented. Even put candles in the desserts for the birthday boys. Thank you Buchan Braes.

We had the most amazing afternoon tea experience in the Bubble. We can't praise the Banff Springs highly enough. This was a mini 'hen party ' and so much thought had gone into making this so special for the bride to be. Beautifully decorated, Beth and her team looked after us so well. The quality of the food and drinks was outstanding. A lovely afternoon was had by all. Highly recommend! A big thank you to all involved!

Good things : This cafe is in a great location and offers plenty of seating outside which is ideal for those with dogs. Not so good things : The coffee was ok although pricey for the size of cup. Cakes were nice enough, but had too much buttercream icing. Bad things : The layout of the tables inside is a bit congested. The volume and choice of music appears to be for the benefit of the staff because we, and those around us at other tables, to raise our voices to have a conversation.
