my wife and i went for lunch for our wedding anniversary, my wife had Scampi which was cold , the scampi was soft and soggy, she returned it and it was replaced with about 1 degree warmer, my toad in the hole was luke warm and the yorkshire was a soggy mess ,we walked out in disgust and ate elsewhere. with 2 drinks £35.00 wasted.

Good location to meet up with friends. We probably chose one of the busiest days as there was a craft fair on so took a while to park. We had a table in the quiet area of if "Farmhouse Kitchen" as it can get quite noisy in the cafe when it's busy. It's a shame you can't book tables in advance. The food was ok. I had a vegetarian quiche with salad and it was literally just that! The quiche was just warm and I think overpriced for what it was. I would add their menu does offer quite a few options that includes a vegetarian choice. Staff very friendly here.

The roast Lamb was very disappointing and a waist of 16 pounds. A travesty that there was no Yorkshire pudding.the carrots were gritty and not had tops cut off. Miniscule portion of Cauliflower cheese and Ted cabbage. No peas or greens. Only 3 roast potatoes and no mash or parsnips. And had to pay 16 pounds for it. It used to be a marvellous carvery before they refurbished.

We arrived just after 3pm and we’re informed that hot food was no longer being served. Fair enough. We were advised to go to an outside food hut (I think it was the same business)to get some hot food, bring it back where we would get plates and could then also order drinks. We found the food hut where there were 2 servers. One was doing drinks and the another was looking busy with a tub of hot chocolate. She eventually asked us what we wanted and she told us that they only had hot pasties and sausage rolls. What type of parties? Only vegan. So we said we would have 2 pasties and a sausage roll. All were in a heated cabinet between the till and serving area. She wandered off. A few minutes later, the other assistant came and asked for our order. The first assistant told her it was 2 pasties and a sausage roll. Why she hadn’t dealt with it, I really don’t know, anyway, we paid and we’re told to collect the items at the serving area. So we waited and waited while they served 6 or 8 coffees and hot chocolates. 15 minutes later….. Finally, “what drinks have you ordered?”. NO DRINKS JUST 2 PASTIES AND A SAUSAGE ROLL! Really? Why didn’t the order taker just get the paper bag and put the items in it so we could go on our way? We go back to the main restaurant and get our plates and I order one mocha, one tea and a hot chocolate. I paid and was directed to the collection area on the other side. It was like a McDonalds waiting area. Yet another 15 minutes of my life gone! My hot food was now cold! There must be a better way of organising this service. I never have to wait for my drinks in Costa Coffee or Starbucks or anywhere else, in fact. Something is seriously wrong. It was my first time visiting this place. I won’t be going there again.

Went with my friend and our respective children for brunch. Was waiting in the queue and my friend orders first. They get to order food for themselves and their little one. My 2 children were refused their food order. Ok, it was close to 11am when ordering, which is when they end the breakfast menu but for literally 2 minutes different on the respective receipts (11:01 and 11:03), very disappointing for my children! Coffee and drinks were fine and the till staff was polite and apologetic and was clearly not their fault as they were only following instructions from the kitchen!

Millets is a great place to visit, but give the Farmhouse Kitchen a wide swerve. Most things on the menu were "sold out" at 12:30 after opening for lunch at 11:00. We resigned ourselves to Pizza which was just about acceptable. Ridiculous prices for poor food, obviously reducing the product quality due to the current economic situation and hoping you will not notice. On looking around, there were many people sitting at tables eating their own food from Tupperware (other plastic containers are available) which seems to be allowed and normally indicates an overpriced poor quality food venue.

My husband had a plowman witch he enjoyed, I chose a baked potato with chilli. £7.75 very reasonable.unfortunately when it came was very disappointed. Lovely size potato, two pats of butter. Salad garnish & the smallest pot of chilli I have ever seen. It covered half of the potato when I say covered I say it loosely. I went to the lady on the till , told her I was not happy with the amount. Only to be told it’s all portioned out. I could buy another pot. Needless to say I didn’t. Surely you should have enough without paying anymore. What a pity they are not thinking of the customer.

Kept us going for hours :) Cheerful staff catered accurately for my (medical) dietary needs - I get the cheerfulness most places I go, but they don't always bring me the right things, or they add stuff I didn't specifically ask for which can invalidate the whole meal... Not here, it was perfect. Served quickly too. Excellent quality ingredients, each with real individual flavour. The cakes, breads and pastries also looked amazing, I was sorry I couldn't have them. Lots of people about at 10am on a Sunday, but still a calm place to sit: no muzak hurray, just the sounds of families and/or friends of all ages, from elderly couples to young ones, from small family with baby to large gathering, all enjoying a breakfast out.

I visited here with my friend and our babies. We love Millets Farm and chose to eat here for lunch instead of the garden centre. It was absolutely heaving for a Friday, I expect because it's nearer to Christmas. The queue was horrendous and moving very slowly. I just wanted a sausage roll, described as artisan. It was clearly homemade and very tasty, but for £7.95 I should hope so! It came with a few chips but they were lukewarm. After the long wait for food, there was another long wait to pay as no one was on the tills. I pointed this out to the lady doing hot drinks and she promptly jumped on the tills. There were plenty of staff clearing tables so not sure why this poor lady had to try and be in two places at once. I think we'll try the garden centre cafe next time.

We stopped here on our way back from Bath for a bite to eat as it was halfway to our home. I decided to go for a mozzarella and tomato baguette and ordered two from the cabinet which came in at £5.95 each. I inspected the baguette and found it was a mashed up blend of god knows what, but it was not mozzarella and it tasted terrible. I took it back and the server assured me it was a pureed blend of mozzarella and tomato. Why blend it? Unless it isn't what it says it is. So I exchanged it for two tuna and cucumber baguettes which were equally disappointing. The tuna was dry, although it stated it was mixed with mayonnaise and the bread did not seem fresh. Why not make sandwiches to order rather then keep pre-made sandwiches in a cabinet which renders then dry and tasteless. I am not sure of the rest of the food, but its probably pretty standard, I just expected more after paying £11.00 for two sandwiches. I would not recommend the baguettes.

However there were so many people waiting to be served on this visit that orders were taken for later delivery - much later. The queue was just not worth the wait and it was expensive for what was delivered. The pricing of this 'canteen' food was restaurant pricing, ie far too high for what is offered and eventually served. When eventually delivered the food was on cold plates (ideal for salads but not hot food!) and the supposed hot food was only warm - presumably the same food on display at the 'canteen' queuing. When served this food had now become rather tired. There is much to be done by the 'New Management' and so far they have shown that they are not up to the challenge. An array of young, inexperienced and totally leaderless staff just does not help.

We have been to millets farm on many occasions for many years. It has a garden centre, art shop, animals, place to buy food and drink, food shop, walking route, pick your own and a bird place. The cakes in the shop are massive a whole days calories in one cake. The garden centre good for money. Lovely walk down by the animals. Throughout the year different events take place, the maze is great fun. Ice skating at christmas. You can spend a short time or all day at millets farm. Great for all ages. Free parking.

We love visiting Milletts but today the coffee stop wasnt up to much. The coffee my wife had was not too hot, as was the same for my hot chocolate which was very disappointing. The muffin was gorgeous mind. The meat bought in the shop was wonderful when I got home x

Decided to take lunch at the coffee shop based in the garden centre. Food ok , but the filter coffee was possibly the worst I have ever tasted. A cup of brown cloudy water waved in front of a empty coffee jar, if this kind of establishment wish to complete with the Costa and Starbucks. There must learn to use good ingredients and trained staff. Enjoy the food, but do not drink coffee.

We have visited millets many times and it never lets us down. There is not many garden centres that kids love going to but this is the exception. They love the farm animals and kids play area, and they even enjoy the farm shop ( all down to the lovely cakes I'm sure ). Fantastic range of unusual bits and pieces on offer in both the farm shop and main shop. We tend to now take our own lunch as the restaurant is very expensive for a family and also the wait can be long at peak times. That said, if it's a treat them the food is fabulous with a real home cooked taste. You can make a trip to millets a full day out.

Never waited so long for breakfast - the man taking the orders was obviously a restaurant manager who had to improvise behind the counter and sadly did an appalling job, and the young staff under him had to try to get the orders out. Food was ok once it arrived, and I requested complimentary coffees as the ones we had purchased had been drunk 20 mins before the breakfast arrived! Appalling service, acceptable food but would not visit again.

Wow what an amazing place. Lots to see and do. I felt like I had walked into christmas it was amazing. Ice skating rink was lovely although I did think it was a bit expensive. There were lots of Christmas decorations to choose from and plenty of space to move around. The farm shop was fantastic the smell when you walk in of fresh vegetables is amazing. We bought lots of different things. Everything we bought was good quality and very tasty. Can't wait to visit again before christmas. Xx

My first visit here although my parents have visited before several years ago.Cant say much except that the food was very expensive for the quality and quantity and that the toilets need a total refurbishment. Wet floors, leaking urinals and broken tiles.Tables in the restaurant left uncleared and food on the floor, will not visit again.

There was something for everyone, the children had a fantastic time, the walk was very pleasant and the shops and café were good. There was a maze and some animals to see plus a play area. Definitely a great family day out!

I had not been to this cafe next to the farm shop for several years, and now I know why! It was almost run by school children/ students earning extra cash at the weekends, with little pride in the place. The floors were filthy as were the tables, and when the old plates and cups were removed the tables were not wiped down, absolutely disgusting.Watching the food handlers prepare the food, they did not wear gloves and touched all the open sandwiches and fillings, it is not cheap here, very over priced for what you get, and just scruffy. I was glad to get out of there and certainly will not be returning to this grubby, expensive hole!

very dated and run down restaurant compared to the gorgeous farm shop just adjacent to it. the toilets are horrific - wet floors, broken tiles and very dirty. it's incredibly overpriced for really poor quality food. the coffee is bitter, drinks overpriced and the food is poor quality and extortionate. over £6 for a jacket potato is ridiculous - it's a potato with bought in fillings that cost almost nothing. the staff arent great - slow and not great at cleaning tables quickly which leaves the place messy. it's a shame that the place is so great, but you cant get a good cup of tea or lunch. they have a captive audience and know this, charging a lot for poor quality food. paninis are bland and the cakes are all bought in and generic tasting. the farm shop has incredible cakes, breads and plenty of things that could be served in the restauarant. the farm shop is very reasonably priced, and i wouldnt mind paying high prices for the things in the restaurant if they were from the shop as the quality would be second to none. it's obviously not the farm shop who run the restaurant which is a shame. the restaurant lets the whole place down. we'll be coming to the farm shop and heading elsewhere for lunch in future. i took my mother after raving about the place, but the restaurant experience (i'd never been in before) really let it down. i believe there's a cafe in the garden centre so i'll give that a go next time and hope that it's run by millets and up to the standard of the rest of the place. the restaurant really doesnt belong there.

We made the error of rocking up to the cafe at 4 on Sunday afternoon.Allied to the indiferent welcome and drab, tired interior we had to endure listening to a bored waitress making as much noise as she possibly could stacking chairs and trays. No big deal perhaps in the grand scheme of things...... but wholly unecessary.

From start to finish, we had a very disappointing service at Millets Farm restaurant. I had wanted to book an afternoon tea for my sister and family and I discovered that upon checking my booking(which had been made a month before), nothing had been noted and they weren't aware of us coming. Anyway I booked again. We arrived at 3:30 as we had been told to get there early. The floors were dirty and some of the tables were being wiped. The tea did not come till 04:10 and the scones were rock hard and clearly a day old and seemed 'shop bought' and not home made.I wanted a proper afternoon tea but they told me I could only have a cream tea despite advertising on the website. As it was a birthday celebration, I didn't want to make a big fuss on the day. I have frequented Millets often in the past and have been really pleased with it before. But this experience has put me off and I think I am most disappointed by the attitude of the staff who shrugged off my husband's complaint because they were 'short staffed'.Not good enough Millets.

Looking for a quick bite on our way home from the south coast back to Birmingham we happened upon this mega farm outlet and enjoyed a panini, flapjack & coffee on the sunny garden terrace outside the canteen restaurant. Afterwards we briefly indulged ourselves in the farm shop and came away with corn on the cobs, plums, Rocquefort, and chocolate thins! No time for the garden centre but I'm sure we'll be tempted to return on another journey down south.

So this was my experience from our last visit to Millets Farm. Not sure if anyone else will have the same thing happen to them! But here goes. We had just finished off a mediocre Roast Beef Dinner on a Sunday which was pretty dry and tough, so we thought we would try the rhubarb crumble that was on offer as a little treat after our mammoth chewing session. So, we went up to the pudding area and thinking it was self-service, we took a bowl of crumble that was lined up neatly in a row and was JUST ABOUT to spoon on the custard, when a voice shouts over to us and says "No!....No! You can't do that yourself! Put it down!".....abit startled, I replied, "Oh, is it not self-service"? To which she replied...."No. It's OBVIOUSLY not self-service! The HANDLE on the custard is FACING AWAY FROM YOU LOOK!!!" to which the ladle was then swiftly taken off me like a naughty child.........(Yes, for those of you unsure of what I meant by the handle, she was talking about the CUSTARD LADLE/SPOON that was facing away from me!!)........WHAT THE ???? I was alittle taken aback. Did I hear right?! Was she just telling me, that I was supposed to know it was not self-service by the .......direction of a spoon?? I honestly did not know there was a "secret spoon language" that I was never made aware of! Never, have I come across a place, where you are told whether it is self-service simply by the direction of which a spoon faces before!!It clearly ISN'T OBVIOUS that it was NOT self-service, since half of the restaurant is actually self-service! (Such as all the cakes, cold puds, kids lunch items etc) Perhaps if they wish to make it MORE OBVIOUS, the management should consider NOT NEATLY PORTIONING BOWLS OF CRUMBLES UP, lined up in a row, NEXT TO a bowl of custard all within arm's reach then!! How about this? Simple solution so that nobody will get confused- just have a large tray of crumble - uncut??? So that it actually looks like you shouldn't help yourself. Job Done. Aggro avoided. The crumble was actually very nice after the unpleasant telling off. But I felt that the way we were spoken to was totally unprofessional and the explanation was just plain ridiculous, which is why they get a 1 rating. Now, I'm off to enrol at the Oxfordshire School of Spoon Language.

I have literally just come back from a visit to Frosts garden centre/millers farm shop what a shambles and it will be the last. Had lunch in the potting shed and the service was painful to watch and to be part of plus for £7.95 you got a ploughmans with one slice of bread!, I can't say the staff were unfriendly just slow and didn't have a clue if they ever have a rush on I don't think the customers will survive the wait. Then I bought a few items in the garden centre not a smile or any form of courteousness. I have just noticed a for normal card with a dog on I was charged £3.99!then I went into millers farm shop holding my bag of purchases 2 tills were open with two very long queues then finally they had the sense to open another I was first there as it was my turn. She told me it was £5.98 fine and did I want a bag I said yes she saw I was struggling with my other shopping with I had bought there and did just that put a bag on the counter and the goods didn't even bother to put the chocolate in for me!!! no service, no smile and eventually if the carry on like this no customers I am more annoyed with myself that I spent £40 there never again

There are two places to eat at millets. There is the restaurant by the farm shop or the potting shed by the garden centre. The shed is by far the better option, serving teas and coffees, sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and children's sandwiches. Possibly a bit pricey but good food.

We visited Easter Monday, as expected the entire place was extremely busyWe are huge fans of Millets particularly the the fantastic vegetables grown in the farm fields, the early season asparagus is simply amazing !Today we decided to extend out visit and have lunch in the ground floor restaurant, what a shambles and a complete let down, although Millets have a fine butchery, fantastic deli and some of the finest produce in Oxfordshire the food available here is entry level frozen microwave food with condiments offered in the form of unbranded sachets in a dated restaurant environment which feels very 1990's in every aspect other than the cost of the food.Come on Millets, you are better than this, your dining facilities should be an excellent showcase for the seasonal produce you have available and not what we experienced today...

Food took a long time to come, had to ask. When it arrived majority of plates were wrong. Had to return two plates and one had to be returned 3 times. Service was awful! Food was tasteless! Yorkshire Pudding looked more like a pancake! Will not be returning. Whole place looks rundown. Tables and bar sticky, carpet looks faded and worn.

Had a Sunday lunch for 2, my wife had previously been and rated this village pub part of the Greene King group. In a way the pub is traditional with a bar, restaurant layout but with a COVID canopy with booth style tables. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The draught beer on offer was a Greene King summer brew and a guest ale from Hardy & Hansons, Old Trip. Very reasonably priced at £4.80. We both had a roast, I had beef and my wife pork. My beef was plentiful but a little chewy but wife’s pork was good. The roast potatoes were very good and the vegetables were plentiful if a little soggy. There was a good sweet selection I had the apple pie with custard which was alright. I don’t know why there haven’t been any recent reviews but based on this visit I won’t be rushing back, sorry.
