Unfortunately yet another pub showing open on Google but in fact closes very frustrating

I’ve not been in this pub for circa 8 years and what a shame it’s so run down now. The bar lady was helpful and led us to believe it was up for sale. The pub clearly needs a new owner who can provide the much need TLC that it urgently requires.

They had ran out of most beers, only fosters or ale was left.

wonderful place, you will not regret coming here. amazing owner who’s always up for a chat, lovely atmosphere. more of an “old school” pub - just like a pub should be. the garden is open spaced and they have multiple activities such as darts, pool and chess if you don’t fancy socialising. 10/10!

We arrived at the pub at 4.30 on Saturday afternoon , a party of 20+ family members for the karaoke and disco . We were welcomed by the owners and they were very accommodating. We were there until closing time and had spent a lot of money between us all , but unfortunately at the end of the evening the owners 14 year old relative decided to cause trouble and we were not happy with the way the owners dealt with the situation . This has put us off returning to the pub , it was a shame as up until then we had a great time .

Very nice place. Very "pub" like, i.e. low ceilings, exposed wood beams, big open fireplace. Drinks were as good as the ambiance. The owner was super nice.

Nice to be in the audience and to play at the open mic. This venue has improved since I last came here. Good atmosphere again.

Shame called in first time in 18 months only to find its closing this weekend!

Very quaint & historic pub with plenty of potential, unfortunately much of the venue appears to have fallen into slight disrepair and neglect - it certainly didn't reflect the glamorous atmosphere as suggested from the google photos from 1+ year ago. It currently has a very laid back vibe, with live music in the garden marque clearly being the main agenda & appeal. Sunday roast dinner wasn't half bad - was just a shame that the leftover plates were left on our tables attracting the flies & wasps.

Funny atmosphere no food that day unfriendly staff apart from young girl cleaning, part of garden covered with awning due to coved rules with a woman sitting in there smoking, pint of lager and a pint of shandy just over £9 , we would never go back

Food and service were 5 stars, gardens were tired and in need of a bit of TLC.

Lovely Guinness and good service

The millers Arms accommodated us when other local establishments wouldn't, they laid on a great buffet and the staff were friendly and helpful and let's not forget stanford the lovely newfoundland.Thank you to the guvnor and staff for a memorable afternoon.

After a disaster at our first post-lockdown pub this was a breath of fresh air. Proper ale, good service, no pretentious bollocks, the beer? Bollocks to Covid. Great!

It okay place but service is soo bad , no staff around to take YOUR ORDER no STAFF Is helpful also Some staff doing nothing and there’s drugs everywhere no social distance it took ages for a drink coma don’t come here I mean it DO NOT COME HER THERE ARE DRUGS HERE IT TOOK US FOREVER FOR A DRINKS

Me and the wife had a home delivered Sunday Roast dinner. It was amazing, was as good as some that we have sit in for. A must try, we will be ordering again very soon.

Not sure what went wrong but when we arrived after 3 groups of family members all drove in from different areas for over an hour each, the pub was shut. Our booking was for 1pm on Friday 20th Dec 2019. Noone answered the door or the phone. It was pouring of rain and we had to get elderly disabled family settled in an alternative pub without a booking which was difficult. The pub had my telephone number and email address as did the online booking system 'Open Table' so they could have contacted me to advise they were closed and to cancel my booking but noone did so. I could see lights on and a dog was barking inside but doors were locked and despite banging on the door no staff were there. I would like to know what happened?

We had a brilliant meal well cooked hot very filling great value for money it was lovely to see the landlord working & serving his customers. It is well worth a visit

Amazing quality Sunday lunch and incredible value. Lovely pub with a huge beer garden accompanied by friendly staff. They also have that rarest of sights in a pub these days..a pool table.

Pre-ordered a Chateaubriand steak for a birthday meal. Worth every penny. It was beautiful. Tender. Succulent. Served with triple fried chips. A mountain of onion rings, tomatoes and mushrooms. The chef loves cooking and it truly shows. Village pub atmosphere. Dogs allowed and made welcome. Large garden. Looking forward to my next visit.

After coming here on multiple occasions, and having tried both the Sunday Roast and the Steak Night, I can confirm that both delicious meals and well worth the money. The beautifully cooked steak came with a pile of onion rings, chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, and some delicious sauces. The chef even came out to enquire about our meal, it is evident he loves to cook. The Sunday Roast was also delightful, and plentiful, and well-priced too. Outstanding food, excellent service, agreeable prices, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Fantastic food and excellent value. The new owners have made an excellent job of things. The drinks are very cheap compared to most other places in the town.

Good pub, reasonable value for money food and drink.

My partner and I happened to be in the area on 23 August on a visit from Oxford. We went to the Miller's Arms for supper on an impromptu basis and were delighted. The pub is evidently under new management, and it shows. We were greeted by very enthusiastic and attentive staff. We chose the Fish and Chip supper which was excellent. It was freshly cooked and appeared far quicker than we had expected. The fish itself was a really good size and very tasty indeed. We were also pleased to see that Doombar ale was available. So, all in all, an excellent supper. Well done and thank you.

Went for drinks initially but viewed the lunch menu and decided to eat. Friendly atmosphere,great service,and it was pointed out that they were trying to provide fresh menu as much as possible. We just had lunch to share in the bar and it was really nice. Restaurant bigger than expected so will have to try. Steak night sounds good value . Think they also do a fish and chip night fridays .Big outside beer garden and play area. Well worth stopping by.

We went to the Miller's Arms as an impromptu thought last night and luckily got a table for 4 as they were busy and not surprisingly as the steak night is a big hit,2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 and the steaks are lovely and the service is excellent,the chief actually came out and asked how the meals were.The normal menu looks great aswell and apparently the Sunday roast is very good(3 meat roast for an extra £1.50).Will definitely be dining out at the Miller's again in the very near future.

New management and very new menu on the day we called in. Lots going on, good atmosphere and a lovely pint of Doom Bar. Wanted to stay longer. Very clean and tidy pub.

It's on your door step, it sells beer, crisps and good pub grub.....what's not to like.

This pub has a lot of potential. New management are currently finding their feet. We had a tasty meal well cooked and presented. Nice evening in the garden and good ale. But kitchen took a while to deliver and had to pop to the shops for coffee. Even though I would go again as the pub, restaurant and it's garden are nice and the food was good plus very friendly staff.

Staff greeted us as soon as we got there, quick and efficient service. Nice good at fair prices. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere in a pleasant and characteristic building.

Nice to see the Millers open again, went there last Saturday and the beer was very good. Hopefully it is more successful than it has been previously.

Just had a very pleasant lunch here. Party of 6 with 2 kids. Really enjoyed the food, staff very friendly and approachable and a perfect beer garden for this weather.

Sorry to say both me and my sister found the food awful . Beef was tasteless cold .Roast potatoes dried out reheated tasted like previous days. Vegetables over cooked mushy both cabbage n broccoli. Food luke warm at most Yorkshire puddings doughy. Gravey taste less. Carrot ok..House wine very nice Service ok . Quantity ok shame about quality .😔

We popped out for an impromptu sneaky pint and a bite to eat, and decide that due to its close by locations it would be worth the short walk. Our visit was just after the pub had changed hands and the new landlord was still grasping the reigns, it as all a little bit manic, but the service was good, the beer was cold and the food was very tasty with a good menu choice, looking forward to making this our regular haunt as the current owner has good plans for the future.

Bloody awful!! Staff seemed like they didnt want to be there, no ale on tap AT ALL and blamed on selling out the previous weekend, no atmosphere, poor overpriced wine, and food very average

A few drinks with work colleges. A warm friendly atmosphere with excellent staff the place is very welcoming and very clean. A very enjoyable evening

This pub has a great atmosphere and is very relaxed, and friendly. There is a good selection of ales and beers. It is just off the beaten track but gets a good number of customers. Really worth a look for a nice pint.

If you haven't been down The Miller's Arms on a Friday night for fish and chips then you ought to! Excellent fish tempura battered with ale,good price a friendly pub .Get there early before they sell out 😋

On a wet sunday lunch time we entered our new local.

Maybe I should have realised straight away when I called to see if they had a table free for lunch at 12:15 and they said come straight down.

I visited The Miller's Arms on a Friday teatime. It was not busy with just a few customers I took to be locals. The pub is small and quaint with low beams and a warm fire.

Lovely traditional pub. Lovely and friendly and great food too.

Visited hoping for a roast dinner but that was off the menu due the publican said to the very hot weather affecting sales. So we ordered the Ploughman’s Lunch which we both enjoyed washed down with ice cold pints of cider, lovely. The pub bar is small but cosy with a dining room extension and a vast outside area.

We go there every Monday evening to play our Ukulele's. They even move the pool table and set up other tables to accommodate us. Fell really relaxed there.

Went here for an evening meal with my friends. Service was excellent. Within 10 minutes of ordering food it had arrived. I had the fish and chips and my friend had chicken burger and chips. Huge portions, and tasty food. Only downside is they don’t serve desserts on a Friday. Would definitely go back!!

I've eaten here a couple of times in the past and to be honest the food is average and never very warm and don't get me started on the Sunday lunches warmed through meat and cold roast potatoes and a splash of gravy just to make you think mmm tastey NOPE.

We had a family visit and hoped for a nice carvery but what we got was microwaved meat and veg, it was very disappointing and none of us will ever go back.

Our first visit today for my husband and I and it won't be our last. The food was very nice, big portions, piping hot, fresh veg served separately, extra gravy served separately ( in most eating places we usually have to ask for this). The young waitresses were very attentive. Just a very small mishap there were no serving spoons for the veg and just a spoon no fork for dessert. As we were the only customers I just took them from another table. Not even worth marking them down for. Two very satisfied customers 😁

Friday 1st December went to the Millers Arms for dinner but turned out that they only serve fish and chips on a Friday but nothing is said about that on their website. Will not be going again on a Friday.

Fantastic local friendly pub with wonderful friendly staff serving great selections of beers and food. Very family friendly with a secure large beer garden. A very warming and welcoming pub with a lovely double sided open fire to warm you on a cold day.

25 of us on a course nearby wanted good food and prices off site. The owners said they could accommodate providing the orders were in beforehand which we did. Turned up on mass and had a lovely pitched restaurant area at the rear all to ourselves with its own bar. The food was good and arrived together well done waitress.

Sunday lunch with family . Very disappointing beef was OK however the rest of the lunch was just not to the standard we expected . No roast potatoes just a plate of mush . Potato and carrots. Gravy instant granules well that's what it tasted like. The cock and bull was a app to name for the beef and chicken in pepper sauce. The sauce tasted like it had been made with beef stock and cream no pepper at all. Sickley ! Not how described on the menu. This was our first time and definitely our last. We ask for more drinks when our lunch was served but by the time the staff came to take our order we had finished our lunch. The staff were very polite and made you welcome. Just the food.

Avoid!!dad and i got terrible food poisoning after sunday lunch there!!

6 of us had evening meal at Seven, we experienced Fab food, service was superb, great evening had by all of us.

After a very disappointing few years of this village pub trying to become a upmarket eating house, thankfully there are new owners who have turned it back into a 'proper pub'

Booked late for the Valentine's meal at the Millers Arms and had a cosy table in the bar all set out with hearts and a free glass of carva.

What a change!!! The food is excellent.My wife and I dined their for valentines and were presently surprised. For starters I had a mixed seafood/cold meat platter with 13 yes 13 items all very tasty and a meal in itself. This was followed by a hot hog roast (cooked outside) so much meat was offered I settled for a salad instead of veg and potatoes and a profiteroles tower to finish. I like my food and am not drawn by quantity but on this occasion the food was both excellent and all you could manage.

It's nice to see that the millers arms is a pub again under new owners and managers.

I heard this pub had changed hands so I went to have a look for myself. It's lovely to see it back to how it should be a roaring fire on a cold day and friendly landlord and landlady. I will be back when they start serving food which I'm told will be very soon . The pub itself is beautifully clean and work has already started to get the garden summer ready .

Offered a voucher for meal for 2. Informed my booking would be cancelled as no heating working that night. Since then have no reply from emails or phone to rebook or money refund. Will look at small claim court to get money refund.

I had purchased vouchers for this restaurant, only to turn up and find no life at all. No one answering the phone, on seeing other people having paid for vouchers what a nice little earner for the owners ! 50 vouchers @£25 =£1250. A nice little earner!!!!

I had eaten here once before. Then I was emailed offering a 3 course meal for £25 deal for two (hence approached me) so took them up on the offer and paid up front x4 so currently £ 50 out of pocket.

We had a lovely meal here six months ago. Booked again for 5th November using a gift voucher. It was cancelled due to lack of heating. Called in in person to rebook. Restaurant is closed up. Disappointed and out of pocket

My husband and I had eaten here before and found atmosphere rather dull, food was good but not a great selection.

we were here using a "two 3 courses for £25" voucher and that was the only saving grace, we arrived at 7 on a saturday evening, the place was empty other than the bar-man/waiter...and didn't get much busier, and we can see why now.
