Floods Bar & Eatery in Huntingdonshire

Absolute gem. I visited again yesterday with a friend who'd not been before. We shared 3 of the small platters for £16.00 and she was as impressed as I was on my first visit, and have been ever since. Everything was just right, food, atmosphere , value for money and friendliness of staff.I was particularly thrilled to find the staff still recognised me though I haven;t been with my husband for some time due to his health concerns.I showed my friend the outside are too which we hope to visit when it's warmer ! In the mean time I hope very much to come again, before Christmas with hubby now he's better.The Christmas meal we had there last year was delicious .This really is one of the most special places to eat in St Ives and I can't recomend it too highly .Go there , you won't be disappointed !

Decided to visit Floods for one of their Sunday Roasts and was not disappointed! The food was AMAZING! Chicken was moist, roast potatoes were crispy and the Yorkshire pudding was to die for. 4 happy and very full people. Will definitely be recommending to everyone. Staff and service was brilliant too! Thanks for having us! We'll definitely be back!

I had a super tasty fish and chips. Portion was excellent and so fresh and flavourful. It has a garden outside so it should be nice in a summer day. It was actually a bit flooded after so much rain

Had one of the best Sunday lunches ever. The flavours were amazing, the portions were generous, and fairly priced too.

Really good portions and very tasty food (especially the chilli garlic prawn small plate). Really nice garden facing the river, nice atmosphere and quick service.

Like having a pub in someone's living room.

Main bar is apparently closed in the summer but there is a decent sized terrace that banks the river. Plenty of uncomfortable wood picnic benches. Fake grass to the terrace sides. Most pleasant and helpful bar and serving staff. An outside bar that stocks a range of gassy carbon dioxide enhanced beer, larger and one or two ciders. No real ale on tap. Usual spirits. Wine, but I can’t comment on the quality or value. Usual boring ‘pub grub’ menu. Presentation is 1/10. Flavours 4/10. Value 2/10. Try the garlic prawns if you want to be brave. They certainly didn’t see much of a frying pan. Quite insipid, zero flavour, small but loads of the little things, and not at all pleasing to the eye. What a pity as it could be a real gem in St Ives’ heart.

Once again friends and I enjoyed a tasty lunch and lovely afternoon in Floods garden. Next to the river, relaxed atmosphere and friendly helpful service. Highly recommend, looking forward to spending many more summer afternoons there. Thank you to all of the Floods team.

Perfect setting, staff are brilliant, I visited twice this week to celebrate family birthdays. We all had a great time, will we visit again.

The food was excellent value, fish and chips cooked to perfection and Thai green curry tasty with lots of Chicken. The setting is beautiful too. Will hopefully be back here soon when visiting St. Ives.

Sunny Wednesday 13:08 told there was a 30 min wait for food which was acceptable as the sun was shining on the terrace and really look forward to to our lunch. After waiting 55 minutes I asked the staff where our order was and told it would be a further 10 minutes. Unfortunately we were parked outside with max 1 hr parking. The Manager was not available however we accepted a refund. Just disappointed. We weren’t the only couple waiting an agonising long time. Ironically it didn’t seem too busy outside!

We had a fantastic Bottomless Brunch at Floods last Saturday 14th July to celebrate my birthday. Staff were wonderful and the Prosecco flowed freely for 2 hours. We had three of the platters which were great and very good value. Sat on the pontoon overlooking the river. A very enjoyable afternoon and would highly recommend. 👍

Floods is a hidden gem right on the river, tucked away from the high street, in the middle of St Ives. We went on a warm June Sunday and found the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable, with a nice buzz. The staff were friendly, experienced, and professional. The food was good - We had Ceasar salad, burger, and fish and chips. Drink prices were reasonable, and the beer was cold. The pub apparently has live music on occasion, but there was none the day we were there. We found it to be a pleasant family venue (at least on warm Sundays), and we would definitely recommend it. It is also an easy walk from a car park which is free on.Sundays, and after 18:00 in the evening.

Great spot lovely staff and delicious food prices very reasonable. Caesar salad very tasty loads of chicken and bacon and homemade crunchy croutons

Nice pub with outside bar overlooking the river in the summer. Can still order ale from the outside bar, 3 were on all elgood brewery. Ale served well and very good quality. Good food menu

My favourite pub in St Ives by far. Service is always top notch, you are left wanting for nothing and the food is really lovely. Especially want to mention the bottomless brunch - have done it twice now here and both times have been completely flawless. Value for money is great - the staff are so lovely and providing; not to mention, they will always try to book you the best seat in the house. The pub garden backs onto the river Ouse and it’s really the perfect setting for a pub trip.

Love this place! The food is fantastic and the staff are excellent and so friendly. Sharing platters are well worth a try and the small bite plates. The manager Sam cannot do enough for customers. Great live music nights every Friday throughout the summer. Highly recommend.

What a lovely pub and good quality beer, Elgood brewery. Very nice. I'd definitely return.

Oh dear. Roast beef Sunday lunch - disappointing. Beef inedible. Great vegetables but they aren’t the headline act. Even after commenting their second attempt return cold beef. Two strikes and I’m not hanging around for a 3rd disappointment. Maybe a bad day to come when the manager isn’t on duty but just basic errors make it unworthy for another visit. Nice staff but I’m not paying to eat them.

My wife and I went with friends on Easter Sunday for a roast. The service,food and value for money was excellent. Beef was so tender,chicken was delicious and the veg including cauliflower cheese and beautiful yorkshires made it an altogether great meal. Sami and her team gave unbeatable service. We will definitely return soon to taste Dan the chefs lovely food. Well done all👍.

Nicely located on the river. We just popped in for a drink on our dog walk.

A very friendly atmosphere, the staff go the extra mile, they are always happy and chatty. The food is very reasonably priced and very tasty. The decor is good, there is a nice cosy open fire and a paved garden overlooking the river.

Had a great time at this wonderful pub with an amazing view from the beer garden. If you are in the area this pub is a must and don't forget to have a look at the view even if it's freezing.

Wonderful unique pub overlooking the local floods. An amazing sight to a visitor but hopefully no locals were put at a disadvantage as a result. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and a good selection of draught beers and cider.

Beer good and reasonably priced and was spotlessly clean. Only down side is tables are laid out like you are back in school, bit regimented for my taste.

Nice place. Reasonable prices, not as inflated as one could expect: roast beef for £13.5. Great beer garden overlooking the river with plenty of seats. You can easily get your dog or your bicycle here.

Held my granddaughter's christening do at Flood's. Staff were so happy to help and really friendly. They provided a fantastic hot buffet and a dedicated area for our guests. The lasagne bites were very popular. Special thanks to Sam for helping make our little girls day so special. Would definitely recommend for special occasions.

We have visited recently and were completely overwhelmed with the quality and price of food, friendliness of staff and of course the wonderful view. Absolutley nothing to complain about, we were even fortunate enough to be able to use one of the tables right down by the water side.What a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful countryside in this ever more busy world.Thoroughly reccommed it .Thanks to everyone there

Overall, a good experience. We ate outside, as it was a fine day. Friendly service. Not cheap, but there was a wide range of meals available, and, in fairness, everything is dearer nowadays.

This place is ok for just a drink if you can have a table next the river. Slow service for very ordinary food and overpriced.

Called in for a drink. The pub was completely empty. Outside, there were about 6 customers. First impressions, the barmaid gave the impression we were unwelcome, but with our unwavering friendliness, she came around a little. The position of the pub is beautiful. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on that.

Currently has outside bar on my visit today, main appeal is great view of the river and fields behind it, brilliant, tad spoiled by the loud music but maybe just me. Good swift service, would have eaten but zero vegan options

We went for bottomless brunch for my partners 40th birthday, when we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and some decorations had been put on the table, a nice little touch. The Prosecco then started flowing 🙂 The Ranch platter we chose to have was lovely as was the Chilli. We had plenty more drinks whilst sitting in the sun with a great view of the river. I would highly recommend, great food, great service. We will definitely be back. We had a great time, thanks 🙂

Fabulous destination with lovely outside area overlooking the river. Music to give an atmosphere. Great menu and the serving staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great place to stop if you are on a cycle.

Lovely spot for a drink & some food, especially with the outside bar. Only negative comment would be for one of the dishes we ordered, nachos, & it came deconstructed. Cheese lightly melted on the nachos, but the salsa, guacamole & sout cream all in separate pots. We expected it all made up as has always been in other locations. Otherwise, all the food being brought out for other customers looked great. Good selection of beers & a bottle of of prosecco at a great price. Definitely return when next in the area.

Amazing place with live music events on Friday and Saturday nights. The view is beautiful and the food is tasty. The staff is incredible, expecially one of the lady manager, who is so helpful and professional.

Lacks atmosphere but not much they can do about the layout. Beer was okay. Seem to have shut off the mooring area to stop boats pulling in
