Teri made our family birthday meal out perfect. She was fantastic with our boys and so attentive. We didn’t feel rushed at all and couldn’t fault her service.

Poor service, decor dated, and lettuce wedge was covered in bugs and green flies. Regular to Miller and Carter. But this was my worst visit. Miller & Carter Horsforth is much more on point from staff, service, decor and food quality. Avoid this one, was really disappointing.

My 2 daughters aged 21 and 25, went for a celebratory meal with their father last Monday. They ordered their steaks, and some wine. The waiter asked for ID and my 21 year old showed hers. My 25 year old did not have any paper ID on her, as she would not expect to be asked for it. She did however, have a photo of her passport on her phone, in case it is ever lost or stolen. She showed the waiter this, but he said he could not accept that, as it could be fake! How ridiculous! I doubt anyone would go to such lengths to get a glass of wine in a third rate restaurant in Garforth. According to the government website, you can legally drink wine, beer and cider, when you are 16, if having a meal. This was pointed out to the waiter and by now the manager, but apparently, this is not their company policy? My daughter wasn't actually bothered about having alcohol, but we just found it irritating that they were intent on her not having the wine. So the message really is, if you are under 95, and you really want to eat here and enjoy a glass of wine, DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!!!

Stayed at a hotel over the road who recommended the food here and it didn't disappoint. The most beautiful steak I've ever had. Ate in the bar as restaurant was too full which speaks volumes. My wife and I was looked after all night by a lovely woman Lee-Ann, her service was impeccable, knew exactly what she was talking about and was very funny as well. What an asset. We are back this way in April, will definitely be coming then.

Food was lovely last night, Lee-Ann in particular on the bar was very helpful and knowledgeable about the drinks she was recommending. Have been before will definitely be back.

The steaks are just so great, I really look forward to coming here. It was Saturday night and it was buzzing as you would expect but the staff were just brilliant, they were very helpful with the menu and we had a great evening. Will call again soon I am sure.

Been there a number of times the last time was just before Boxing Day with my family and we had a great meal and the staff were first class.

Most recent of several visits and as expected, great service, great food and great wine. For a 'chain restaurant' the ambience is really enjoyable and the service surprisingly personal. For such a permanently busy establishment the experience is thoroughly recommended, as is the need to book.

Arrived at the restaurant and waited to be seated. And waited. And waited. A waiter approached, smiled at us and walked away. We walked out.

We go here regularly and the food is consistently excellent. The sirloin or rump steak meals are recommended and the ribs are beautiful. Steak meal is around £16. The staff are professional and provide an excellent service. The surroundings are clean and pleasant. All in all very enjoyable.

Found this restaurant by accident, the food was plentiful, very good and served by professional staff who were very good staff, all in very nice surroundings.

We just came across this restaurant by chance and I'm so glad we did, the food was absolutely fantastic!We didn't book we were just in the area and decided to stop, I went with my parents and 4 year old son and although they were busy we still go a table in the bar area. The service was fantastic, the waitress was very helpful and friendly and the food was the best I've had in ages. Great portion size, good value for money and delicious.I can't praise this place enough I just wish I lived closer!

Now, after a gruelling shopping trip to The White Rose centre, during which my wallet was severely slimmed down, with the enthusiastic support of my daughter, and Mr Visa too, took a nasty hit, it was back to Garforth, and lunch.The Miller & Carter was chosen because I'd received, amongst other gifts, a voucher for the place the week before from my doting child.The place was quite busy (and this was a Monday), so that was pleasing to see.We were led to a comfortable table where we perused the lunch menu, which was reasonably priced & had a reasonable selection of dishes on offer.We had the 2 course option; for starters mushrooms & garlic bread for child and chicken wings in barbacue sauce for moi.Both were actually well presented and really good...it got me thinking that I've been giving a lot of top scores on TripAdvisor recently but, I debated with myself in a manner that in no way resembled a Clinton-Trump match up, I concluded "why not" because if the food & service is "excellent", then it is only fair to record it as so.I'm almost looking forward to a poor meal with accompanying shabby service, so the evil streak in me can have a field day but, whilst I am sure that day will come, it was not to be today: Mr Nice Guy came to the fore again.Anyway, dear reader, to the mains and my daughter had tempura cod with chips & peas, and she was as satisfied as the cat that got the cream.This ex-resident of a wetter place was huge, and my impression of an alsation eyeing up a postman worked, as I was given a decent sized piece of the flavoursome beast, delicious batter an' all!My own steak on brioche was very good- there was an excellent sauce in there, sort of French mustardy and, again, chips.These are good chips, let me tell you, certainly not Smartprice oven specials.The service was good.I was driving and the daughter remains elusively below the legal age of alcoholic indulgence, so there's not much I can say about a glass of water and a coke.Overall, a good shout, we both thought, and, at £30 including the usual %age tip, we were quid's in!

My son in law invited me to dine with them today. We arrived early afternoon with my little grandson.my grandson is only 5weeks old so there were three adults dining.we orderd our food and drinks but just as they arrived my grandson woke to be fed.as soon as our waitress saw her first reaction was to offer to have my son to n laws food cut up so he could feed the baby and eat. Such a thoughtful reaction. Our food was delicious the service exceptional. I have allways enjoyed Miller&Carter but such thoughtful service needs to be advertised.thank you for a wonderful experience

We visited as a family of six whilst staying at the Holiday Inn across the road ready for our wedding the next day. We didn't book and the place was really busy but they accommodated by providing seating in the bar so we didn't have to wait. Food order was taken efficiently, served quickly. One slight error with the food but was corrected immediately. Steak cooked to perfection. Great place. We'll be back!

I visited this restaurant with my partner and two other couples on a Saturday night. The service was excellent, the young lady that served us was very helpful and efficient. Food was absolutely delicious. Me and my partner had fillet steak and it was cooked perfectly. The beef dripping sauce is much recommended! The onion load and wedge salad are much loved extras! It is quite expensive but definitely worth the money. I would recommend to anyone. Best steak restaurant around.

Came here for a colleague's leaving lunch. They have a very reasonably priced lunch menu (2 courses for £10.95 i believe) which is great value for money. Food was really nicely cooked, and the staff were very friendly. Looking forward to my next visit.

My husband and I visited this restaurant today 19/10My husband ordered chilli off the lunch time menu It came and was so small it was possibly an ideal portion for my 4 year old,not an adult.The small portion was ridiculously small for any adult However my husband did enjoy what little he was served.I had a starter which was very nice and a suitable portion as a starter The only down side was the chilli on lunch time menu for adults is absolutely a ridiculous portion size and more suited for a toddler

Miller and Carter is good but I just think its a little overpriced compared to some of the other Leeds steakhouses unfortunately

Called here with my family and we all had starters, mains and pudding. With wine. The chicken starter was probably the best starter I have eaten. The fillet steak was lovely too with the beef dripping sauce. Great wine menu and Bakewell tart. Will be back.

I didn't fancy a steak so I went for Marocan super food salad with chicken breast. Meet was absolutely fantastic!! And salad really tasty and unusual. I've also ordered couple of soft drinks, strawberry twist and mango Melba, absolutely amazing drinks with fresh fruit. Really recommend and will be going back tomorrow!! All food on other people tables was amazing, lady next to me ordered chicken dish and she had to breasts on a plate! It looked fantastic and portions are really big.

Fantastic meal, the steaks were cooked as we had ordered .The staff were friendly and helpful.The plates could of been a bit bigger. We didn't understand the lettuce wedge. A portabella mushroom may have suited us better and a few more chips as its not over cheap.

Visited on Fri night with the wife , must have been a dozen times now and never been disappointed.On this particular occasion have to say Ben our server / waiter was spot on . Engaged in conversation and was generally excellent with the level of service . Food was up to usual standard which is good.Its not somewhere you go for a quick cheap bite to eat but you get what you pay for.Anyone seen the saltpot??

Travelled all the way from Northumberland to have a meal with friends from Garforth on 24th Sept. The room we were seated in was raging hot and quite uncomfortable. The food was great and our waitress was very pleasant. Our main problem was caused by a more senior member of staff who arrived to sort out a problem with the steak served to a couple on the table behind us. He leant on my chair and engaged in a rather heated debate with the customers. It was not our problem, but we felt very involved and heard every word of the conversation. We feel that this could have been dealt with more privately and not to the detriment of our reunion.

I'm a regular Visitor to Miller & Carter and I have always had a great Meal.Visited last night with my Dad & his partner, Seated promptly & served by our attentive Waitress Christine!! The Food & service was great yet again, Thanks for a lovely Evening!!

4 of us had steaks, all were beautiful, cooked to perfection. Tuesday night so didn't book and managed to get a booth. . Nice atmosphere, good service. Enjoyed the evening and will return.

When we entered the restaurant, the first thing that struck us was what I nice place it seemed to be with a great atmosphere. We were met and shown to our table promptly and overall I couldn't fault the service because there was always a waiter or waitress on hand. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and so we ordered two rump steaks which where the “entry level” cut, cooked “medium” as per the menu recommendation. The steaks were lovely, full of flavour and tender so I have no doubt the more expensive steaks would deliver. I must say we were puzzled by the lettuce “wedges” which were served in a side bowl with choice of sauce (included in the price). These were in addition to the main sauce with the steak. The point is that I am not sure it goes; it would be better to have a simple side salad or maybe even peas to accompany the steak. I am sure we could have asked them to replace the wedges if we knew. The chips were OK but we personally would have preferred chunky chips rather than thin fries (which were rather salty). Don't get me wrong, this is a very good restaurant which serves excellent steaks and has a great atmosphere. Definitely with a visit again, maybe of an evening leaving the car behind so we can sample the wine list and also having the knowledge to ask them to leave out the wedge!

After a few recommendations we decided to visit with our 4 year old. The staff were really accommodating and Charlotte that served us was lovely and friendly.Our food arrived fairly promptly, obviously cooked to order so we did expect a wait. When it arrived it looked beautiful! Unfortunately, the flavours just weren't there. My steak wasn't cooked evenly, only being as ordered right in the middle, and it didn't taste of anything. My husbands lamb was also not very flavoursome, and the chorizo and peas wasn't even spicy. We eventually realised the problem when our 4 year old didn't eat her chips. This was because they were absolutely covered in rock salt. This must be where all the seasoning went! Disappointing that a kids meal is served with so much salt on though.Suffice to say, at the price they charge, we won't be going back. If the price was lower then we might consider it, but pretty poor value for money. Positives were the service (thank you Charlotte) and the sauces, which were needed.

Food was great as always and our waiter Ben topped off our evening. Great service will be returning :)

Me and a group of eight visited this restaurant for a friends birthday. Not everything was terrible but three main things made the restaurant as a whole very poor and would not recommend going. My friends starter was missed to begin with. He ordered a camembert cheese. By the time we had got a waiters attention we had all finished so he asked her to just leave it. Her excuse was I did not hear you ask for a starter. For main my partner got the 10oz fillet steak which he asked for medium rare. My 8oz came out perfect, but when my partner cut in to his it was brown inside with no visible pink or red meat... not what we call medium rare more medium well done. The steak itself for £30.00, so we expected it to be cooked to a decent standard. The waiter then took the steak away and said she would get the chef to cook a new one. 15 minutes - 20 had passed and still no sign of his steak. Don't take me wrong I am no chef but I know to cook a steak medium rare it takes approx. 4 minutes on each side max. Moving on we had all finished our meals and my partners steak had still not arrived. He told the waitress to forget it. To top it off my friend has ordered surf and turf steak. When the steak came it was plain no prawns ect. My friend asked the waitress why she had got her order incorrect she said they had forgot went away and said oh yeah the waiter dropped your prawns on the floor and we have none left!Overall once we received the bill we were shocked from after a very poor evening they had still charged us the 40% VAT!! I do not mind pay any price as long as me and my friends enjoy the meals but to charge us 40% VAT for a meal like that was sickening.I would personally not go back here. Can’t speak about the other Miller and Carters as I have never been.

Had a brilliant meal while in the area on business. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere, service was quick and friendly and the food… OMG!! The Filet Steak was one of the best I have ever had, beautiful. I am a really fussy steak eater and this cut was cooked to perfection.Definitely recommend and will be visiting my local Miller & Carter ASAP, they have a lot to live up to!

Following a bad experience at another pub which meant we left before eating, we came here slightly worried but we definitely shouldn't have been! All the staff were lovely and chatty without being to in your face and had good knowledge of the menu! We had a sharing steak platter with half a rack of ribs, a mix of sweet potato and normal fries, onion loaf and Mac and Cheese and it was delicious!! Puddings also looked yummy but we were to full to attempt them! The restaurant itself looked upmarket but wasn't stuck up - you could dress up if you wanted but lots of people just in jeans and Tshirts aswell. Will definitely be going back!

Picked this place on our visit to see Brothers who both recently celebrated wedding anniversaries .. 43 years , Silver & with our 41 years ( all 3 of us within the last 3 weeks ) we had this opportunity to celebrateWe were in good spirits ( no not drunk ) as we don't get together very often & Emily our waitress took it all in her much younger than us stride . Made us feel very welcome & was very efficient at confirming our varied choices of dishes to make sure we all got what we ordered. It all at the right time no delays no muck ups .. GOLD STAR to this restaurant we will be back !!!

Been here a few times and the Steaks are lovely, cooked just right. This time went with the wife and my mum, and we were not disappointed. My mum loved the food and so did we. My mum had recently had an operation on her hip and so couldn't negotiate the stairs, they were more than happy to seat is downstairs. Can never fault this place and recommend it to anyone, especially steak lovers

Visited Saturday night. Restaurant very busy. Food that we had was very good, scallops and calamari followed by the 30 oz tomahawk steak. Steak was extremely good, cooked to perfection and tasty. However the level of service was POOR!!! Our waitress forgot our drinks on numerous occasions, our bill was incorrect, this was then followed by lots of confusion at the bar over a free glass of wine that we should have had with our meal. Also a waitresses cleaning tables in the bar area left a chair in the fire escape! This is not acceptable!

We have visited twice and both times the food was excellent. Friendly staff and a good peaceful atmosphere. Little bit expensive but that's what you expect from a good steakhouse! Would recommend.

So my partner and I went to Garforth Miller & Carter for their Wednesday's Steak & Wine night that they do for £15 each. As we have been before and have really liked it there and thought we would try their deal night out for 2. So we booked our table for 7:45pm and got there early by like 5 mins or so. We was seated and advised our waitress was Lesley. The place looked quite busy so we knew there would be a wait for things. Lesley come over and too all our order (drinks, meal and extra drinks). So we was sat there for near on 20mins and still no first lot of drinks, so I got up and went over to the bar myself to collect my drinks seen as it was busy, warm and we needed a drink. Once at the bar our waitress Lesley came over to me apologised and said that she had lost our whole order and the drinks I am waiting for now we can have them FREE of CHARGE and they would be brought over to the table.So over the drinks came and the wine too that should have been serviced with our meal and not with our first lot of drinks. While sat there my partner noticed that there was lipstick makes on both our glasses, my partner then addressed this with the front of house guy and got this issues sorted out once and for all, so not have we been waiting for nearly 45 mins, our order was lost and now there are marks on the glasses. Can anything go right now please, because we came to just enjoy a nice meal out at somewhere we liked.So now it's over an hour and STILL NO FOOD, but our lettuce and blue cheese things came. So when asked how long will it be until our food will follow we was advised 5mins, which to be honest was not acceptable by this time. My partner then asked the front of house guy again what was going on as this is ridiculous now. So he went off to ask in the kitchen how long until our food is out and we was advised we our next. So when our food finally came to the table over an hour and half late it wasn't cooked to how my partner ordered it. When ordering I asked for well done and patterned asked for medium to well done and mine was cooked to how I asked and my partners was still bleeding when he got to the middle of the meat which was totally NOT what he ordered. So by now our date night was totally ruined and all we wanted to do was go home. So we called over the guy from front of house again advised him that we was only paying for 1 meal due to the fact that the whole night was a disaster, our order was lost and then wrong but we was grateful for the free drinks due to the miss about but it had gone to far now.So from now on we will not be going to Garforth Miller and Carter and we will be sticking to the City Centre restaurant instead.

I went here for a family members 21st birthday. We sat upstairs and was served by a young lad who's name escapes me but his service was absolutely fantastic! We all had starters and I have to say these were disappointing. We had nachos and chicken skewers which were quite bland. The main was fantastic! The steak was tender and the side salads were great. I would give this 5 stars but I've been to Stockdales in Leeds a number of times and the difference between the two is huge. Great food and definitely recommended but the starters need to be better and the place needs the wow factor.

We had a great time at the restaurant last night, both of us had starters, main courses and desserts. The chicken skewers are nice but the bourbon glaze didn't come through enough, my sirloin steak was cooked to perfection as was my other halfs ribeye. The desserts were absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend the chocolate ganache! The staff were excellent especially Alex who was attentive and made our visit a great one. This was our first visit and we will be definitely returning.

We visited Miller and Carter on Sunday afternoon (4th of September) as part of a group of three. Our waitress Katie delivered a very professional service from recommending a tender steak and how it should be cooked in order for it to be perfect which indeed it was! She also helped my wife by providing a gluten free menu to help make her decision stating what food she would be able to have and what she couldn't have. Overall our experience here was fantastic from Lovely meals being not too expensive and good value for money we will definitely be visiting again!!!

Our 1st visit on the 5/9/06. Four of us went out to celebrate my partners sons birthday. We all had a different steak, with a different sauce accompanying the steaks. All our steaks were cooked to our different specifications absolutely first class. The meal was superb. Everything was lovely. Our waitress Katie was attentive, helpful and efficiently charming. We will certainly be visiting again. The atmosphere was good and plenty of disabled parking.

Another superb meal, if you enjoy steak cooked to perfection then Miller & Carter is the place, never disappoints.

Looking forward to a great steak (which it usually) is but last night was not good. Requested medium rare and it was medium going on to no pink at all. I did say this is not medium rare and they offered to change it but after waiting 20 minutes for them to take our order then another 20 mins at least for the food we were really starving. They offered a free sweet but we do not eat sweets. The steak bill only came to 43.90 then there was the wine and drinks on top. Really not worth it. There were a lot of staff standing around and only one taking drinks and food order. Not happy. I think the food was waiting to be delivered to the table. Chips soggy too. Will certainly will have second thoughts about booking again. Used to be really good there.

I thought I would give the fixed price lunch a go as I was in a red meat kinda mood.I started with mushrooms smothered in cheddar. This was nothing too challenging for kitchen staff with skills and it didn't disappoint. It was cheesey and mushrooms and all good.I went for the steak and fries with a large glass of Montepulciano. Whilst the food was really rather nice I had to act quickly to flick a round of butter unceremoniously onto the table. Why do they assume I want my steak spoiling. The least they can do is let you know on the menu. Steak was small but nice. It was the fixed price menu after all. The wine was good but verging on pricey at 6.65. They should offer a plonk or two for lunchtime glugging with a steak.I had a sweet for a change. Caramel profiteroles. Sweet, sticky, creamy and chocolatey, everything they should be. They were good.I have probably been a little churlish in knocking 20% often Mark off for unwanted butter, but I couldn't give it five.The quality of the steak, the place, and the service is all very good though.

We were then attended to by Ben our waiter. Ben was was very accomplished, reassuring, polite and efficient. We skipped starters, three of the party ordered Silrloin steak and I ordered sea bass. We were all delighted at the presentation of the food served and the manner in which it was cooked. My sea bass was probably the best I've experienced. The others also were also very pleased with how their steaks were cooked, all in all a great treat. Ben our server was attentive but not intrusive, a great attribute. The restaurant was almost full which was surprising for an early evening visit, an indication that all is well with this establishment and word has got around that a marvellous culinary experience awaits customers. There isn't anything I could say was wrong with the restaurant from our visit, just a good vibe and thoroughly enjoyable time.

My sister and I went to miller & carter last Tuesday evening, it was very busy considering it was a week day and I was glad I had booked!I've visited this place a few times and it's usually pretty good.We waited around 45 minutes for our meal to arrive and my steak was a little over done. (I didn't complain about either of those things because we were busy gossiping)The waitress was very lovely, friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is good.Overall not bad, but food has been better when I have been before.

Went here for a friendly meal. What a lovely place. Our waitress Teri was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu products and the drink. Fabulous meal and lovely atmosphere. So iv visited m&c every month for a year and half iv not had a bad word to say about it.I visited yesterday afternoon with my sister after I returned home after working away and the service was abysmal.The server joe (who never told me his name, I found his name on my recite) never introduced his self, main meals came out promp but then we was sat looking at eaten plates for over 25 minutes.......the restaurant wasn't even full!!!! what is going on!After the plates were finally cleared, I asked for the bill which came after 10 mins to then wait a further 25 minutes to get changeAfter this experience I do not think Il ever return!

First visit after a recommendation and without doubt one of the best meals we have ever had. Nice dining area, excellent service from Charlotte our waitress who was very pleasant and attentive. Drinks reasonably priced and the Lemon Gingerini non alcoholic cocktail was superb. The food was very well presented and the fillet steak and rump lamb were cooked to perfection, decent portions as well so very satisfied with the main courses and then the sharing dessert platter was scrumptious and great value. Will definitely be returning, highly recommended.

Always enjoy eating here, staff are friendly and professional. Calam was great with our two young grandchildren. Just wish they sold Fruit shoots to 3 year olds, safer than a full glass.

We've had lunches and evening meals here, we're lucky it's just a short walk away for us, the foods always been very good, the steaks amazing! The staff are great! Very helpful, nothing too much trouble, very good service in a relaxing atmosphere, always look forward to going here, can definitely recommend any of the steaks!

This is a restraunt I often pop into for a drink but don't often eat in. The decor and ambiance is top notch and has a nice feel. The restraunt staff were helpful and on the ball. The menu is good and mainly geared towards streaks as you expect. Two of us ordered steaks which were very nice although the rib eye was out of stock. The quater of lettuce was a nice touch with a sauce to go with it. My wife had sea bass and said it was well cooked and had no bones. The drinks were good and the wine was nice. All in all very good for a chain restraunt. Price of an average steak was £ 22 but was worth it.

We have eaten at Miller and Carter on a few occasions and we have never had a bad meal. There is a lovely atmosphere, the staff are friendly and its a great place to eat for both families and couples.

Went there midweek for a midday lunch, we decided to try the set menu and we're glad we did went for the two course menu and it was superb could not be faulted also the service was excellent and the waitress couldn't have been more attentive made us feel like VIPs will definitely go again

Been sometime since we were here and really pleased we returned.Saturday lunchtime, not too busy, service was excellent, plenty to choose from on the menu, including a set lunchtime menu, as a group we chose from bot the main and lunchtime menu.We were all very pleased with our food, all the starters were hot and tasty, I had a ribeye steak for my main course, very tasty, nicely cooked and superb beef dripping sauce to go with it.Some desserts also, the sticky toffee pub Bing was excellent.Excellent lunchtime treat.

Visited here lots of times, the service is always good and the decor is really nice I think. Food wise we all had different steaks, fillet, sirloin & rib eye on the bone, all were cooked really well. Couple of minor things were nachos had hardly any cheese and were greasy from being fried? Also all 3 of our onion loaf (you get with your steak) were cold, my husband got a fresh one but myself and son wouldn't have eaten it anyway so weren't bothered, they did apologise and replaced it immediately, just a little thing so we will definitely return as the steaks are lovely

19 of us celebrated my daughter's 18th on Mon 15th and we had a superb night! Great good, company and excellent service from the team upstairs! Never been before but we certainly will again. The only thing to be wary of is there's a couple of potholes in the car park which unfortunately my mother went down and sprained her ankle; so say they are being filled soon.
