its our wedding anniversary and weve been treated fantastic, nice glass perseco and a bit of chocolate. had the sunday share platter, brilliant food and outstanding service, thank you.

We were served by Ruby, what an absolute delight. Ruby couldn’t do enough for us, excellent service, extremely polite and very friendly. 10/10 Ruby.

Highly recommend! Really delicious food, friendly and courteous staff would definitely recommend. Jack who looked after us was great. You could really see that the staff really enjoyed working there and this reflected in the service. The steaks were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, and came with a really unusual ‘onion ring steak’ garnish. It was our first time going to the Miller and Carter in Rothley and I have no hesitation in recommending and would definitely love to go again. Thank you to Jack and The Team at Miller and Carter, Rothley for making my husband’s birthday so lovely.

Room was cold, ribeye was rump but not told and passed off as ribeye, rest was nice, service was fine

Friendly service, our waitress Maya had a gentle manner, she was warm and attentive. We really enjoyed our Sunday sharing board meal for Mum’s Birthday. The Birthday desert was a nice touch from the restaurant too.

Our server did a great job of providing an efficient service while not puncturing our conversation. The restaurant was very busy but didn't feel like that from a service perspective. One of the reasons we keep returning for our meals.

Came today for lunch with my partner service was great and the food was incredible, ordered the 50 day aged fillet medium rare and it was mouth watering, santino provided perfect service.... thank you for a lovely afternoon!!

Our server was pleasant, and the starters arrived swiftly. I had the T-bone steak, medium rare as suggested. For the price, I was looking forward to a perfectly cooked, tender steak. What I received was an overcooked, tough, and very fatty steak on the sirloin side (the fillet side was good, bar a little tough). It was very busy, so it was hard to flag down a server, and we did not have time to wait for an alternative to be done. But what really annoyed me was that Blue Light and military cards are no longer accepted, only NHS cards.

Ordered steak meal 2 courses for £17.95 the first steak was very chewy so it was replaced but the second steak was just as bad with lots of white collagen so inedible, didn’t get to eat our meals together then still charged us full price for the starter so ended up paying more …. Apparently the till / computer won’t allow them to do it !!!! It would have been nice to receive a complementary dessert or drink maybe but absolutely nothing was offered to us !!!!!

Food quality ok. But just too long a wait, maybe it WAS fashionable to make you wait over an hour - but they’d better wake up, as that is no longer Give this one a pass if you don’t have two hours to watch other people eat!

Great food, service very slow, waited almost an hour between starter and main course and nobody came to update us on the delay.

Food was incredible - really well cooked minimal wait for it. The 5 of us had an amazing meal and we will be back again.

Went out for a steak here and had such a lovely time! The food was absolutely delicious – the steaks were cooked perfectly, just how we like them. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, which made it even more enjoyable. A big shoutout to Maya who looked after us so well – she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome.

4 of us visited today for a Sunday lunch but the menu was alittle odd, you can either have a full sharing plater for 2 or a 3 course menu, starter, main (lots of supplements) and pudding. When entering the pub it's was very quiet, I asked why and they said they had multiple large groups in but there was plenty of empty couple tables. So the whole atmosphere was alittle lacking. Although there was a few table with groups of 10 the service was rather slow. But the staff were polite and did apologise when drinks were taking a while. Anyway both couples had a sharing platter, salted roast potatoes, camembert mash, butter vegetables, 3 slices of lamb (odd number) a ribeye steak and half a chicken. All the food was lovely, well cooked and very tasty. The only problem was that it's just too expensive for what you have. £66 for a share platter, £33 for a Sunday dinner :-( (£34 each for a 3 course) We then had coffee and a mini pudding but the coffee/hot chocolate was lukewarm. All in all it's was lovely food, over priced and quiet. I don't think I'll be back sadly

Mothers day we waited so long for our mains. The resturant was busy n we a table of 8. When the food came up was brill. Our waitress wasn't attentive enough. Had to call her over to ask what was happening.

Great service from Lilia who provided great advice and kept us right when certain items weren’t available after we ordered. Food was delicious particularly the duck and mango salad. A great way to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Yet another amazing meal at M&C Rothley! Always our favourite place to come. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Another 5* evening.

Miller & Carter isn’t just a steakhouse—it’s a religious experience for anyone who respects a properly cooked piece of meat. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in capable hands. The ambiance? Just the right mix of classy and comfortable. The service? So attentive I half expected them to start reading my mind. Then came the steak—and oh, what a steak it was. Cooked to absolute perfection, with a sear so crisp and flavors so rich that for a brief moment, I forgot every problem in my life. Fork in hand, I had an existential crisis about why I don’t eat here daily. The sauces? Immaculate. The sides? Not just an afterthought but worthy of their own awards (even the lettuce wedge, which somehow made me feel like I was making a responsible life choice). By the time I finished, I was so full I briefly debated if I needed a taxi to get from my chair to the door. But one thing was clear—I’d be back. Possibly tomorrow.

Well Thanks very much Miller and Carter! Just received a telephone call (1 and a half hour before 11 of us are due to come today to celebrate a 30th birthday), to tell us they've run out of steaks!!! What are we supposed to do now? Rang the Whetstone restaurant but they are also low on food and can't fit us in. Her 30th Birthday is today and she, along with all her family now have nowhere to go! Absolutely fuming!! A steakhouse running out of steaks??? Awful

Super Duper love the Steak. The food is very nice. It felt a bit chilly in there last time. Toilets need some attention. Could clearly state male and female toilets. The long seats need to be fabric as they are a bit difficult to get in and out of. Maybe light the candles on the tables. Everything else is great.

Sadly was a terrible experience. Went for my partners birthday. Small table of 3. 30 minutes before drink /wine menu was given and orders were taken and that's after flagging down a member of staff. Other tables looked equally disappointed and waited just as long, if not longer. A few staff members were working really hard and seemed to try and make up for the few that were standing around or seemed unbothered. First visit in years, will be last. Seems to have gone downhill which is a shame. We left before ordering food or even drinks by that point.

Absolutely amazing experience tonight for me and my partner. We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation time, but we were taken to our table in no time. Santino (sorry if I misspelled the name) was fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time.

A very pleasant evening out with family and the food was very nice. Dispite a few issues with availability of items & over cooked lobster tail, Emily our waitress was superb and took appropriate action, in a extremely friendly & efficient manner (a credit to any team). We will certainly be back

Staff friendly, and approachable. We had the lunch fixed price meal deal, which has delicious choices and all meals tasted amazing! Portion sizes really good, the starters were almost as filling as a main! For desert we had the mini cream brulee and hot drinks, and I have to say, the mini was a decent portion, glad I didn't go for a normal size. We had cocktails too and came out as £35 per person Will definitely return!

Miller and Carter at Rothley is an excellent restaurant with superb food, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress Lilia was very attentive and helpful.

I'm not in a rush to go back. Service was not amazing, and listening to the waitresses chatting and eating at the bar was not a great look 10 mins into lunch service. The waitress also had her thumb in the dressing from the wedge she put on the table, which flicked on to the table. Not a word said. We spent £110 for 2 of us with soft drinks.

Great service from Santino great asset to your business

As lovers of miller and carter, and go to lots of different ones, this is the worst we have done, Burton, nottingham, sherwood forest, glasgow, london, ellstree, all on numerous occasions this one really let us down. We decided to do the rothley one for valentines as it was one we hadnt done before, we booked our table for 20.30 and paid the £20 valentines deposit. We arrived at 20.00 so we could get a drink in tbe bar before being seated at our table, we recieved a warm welcome informed the team we had arrived and were going to grab a drink, they called us to our table at about 20.45, we had decided to have the valentines set menu, i went with the chipotle chicken, the sirloin steak ( medium rare) and the chocolate fondant desert. My partner, she went with the xo king prawns ( £2 supplement) a well done fillet steak ( £8 silupplement) and the fondant desert. The starters arrived, the chicken was over done, a little crispy, VERY bland and if it wasnt for the chilli jam it wouldnt of had any taste at all. The prawns were fine. We then probably had a 20 minute wait till our lettuce wedge arrived, the smallest wedges we have seen in a M&C , the wife had the garlic may with grana padano ( cheese) and i had the stilton and blue cheese, neither had much cheese on at all.. we both said that. Then the mains, id ordered medium rare, the wife well done, my sirloin was more blue/rare and the wifes medium rare, we didnt say anything at the time as it was busy and we had put our sauces on, and it was now nearly 21.45 and with a 40 min drive home we just wanted to eat our meal. The chips, onion fryit and the side of beef mac and cheese were fine. ( Mac and cheese was actually amazing). The staff were great, the restuarant clean, tho one of the ladies toilets were blocked. But it was the food, as a steak speciality restuarant, this one let it down, im putting it down to how busy it was but we felt really disappointed in the food this time, which for M&C isnt the norm for us.
