Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Charnwood

Was a nice meal but I can't say it was way better than meals I have had else where, was worth its money tho, bit chilly in the place didn't have a cosy feel it was more of a dark cold feel so was happy to leave. The pudding was really nice with 3 small ones to share.

Fraser was polite and attentive. Excellent service.

Not cheap, but 100% value for money. M&C is just great food and great evenings every time. We come here for special occasions, and it's a treat every time. They can even make lettuce exciting, now imagine how good their steak is!

Love scallops but why put sweet sauce with them I had surf and turf lobster.lobster over cooked. Steak. I asked for rare got well done bill £155.00 got £11.00 off.Have been there 50 times plus.Paid £41.00 for my meal got only £11.00 off.Vary disappointed

The waitress was very good, we were bit of an awkward table as we were all talking and she came back 4 times before we ordered so she was very patient. Once our food arrived she came over and did her checks and the food was really nice as it has been every time we’ve been. We all ordered a decent variety off the menu and it was all cooked very well, and everyone enjoyed it. Took a while for the mains to come out but we were a large table so understandable. They had a special on as well which my son ordered and he enjoyed it. We’ve been 3 times to this location and have enjoyed it every time. Will be back at some point.

Fantastic steak , fresh food , great hospitality

waiting staff were amazing and the food was perfect. no soggy onion loaf and the sauce was thick and tasted divine , you could taste the care that had been put in.

There wasn't anything I could say was wrong, but when considering my pound for the experience, it did not marry up. I mean I enjoyed the steak, the well mannered staff, and the dining area, but I've had better for less, with a more inviting feel, and outstanding food in other restaurants. I know the above reads 4, but it's more like 4.5.

Food was absolutely fantastic but service was a bit slow.

Nothing was great. More than half of the menu was not available , sharing platters were not available, there was a hair in my meal but by then we were done I just wanted to go. The guy who greeted us listed all the items that were not available forgot he already asked if we had any allergies and asked all over again . It was a waste of everyone’s time expecting us to remember what wasn’t available although the list was endless ! it was easier when we tried to order to ask what was available. When we finally narrowed it down to a surf and turf we couldn’t ordered it as that but had to order Individually?!?! And then when I went to order I was told they didn’t have that size steak. It was embarrassing taking my son to the restaurant to be greeted with this when he was asking to go to another place before hand . I should have listened to him . I will strongly not recommend to anyone I know who plan on visiting . Added to that the restaurant was cold also. For nearly £100 for mains only and drinks was absolutely highway robbery

Restaurant was very busy Table for 2 was tiny, we ordered the butchers block which took over the full table with little space for plates and drinks. My partner is disabled and trying to get through to our table was difficult due to all the tables and other guests. The food was ok, steak we asked for medium rare but was more rare and a little on the cold side. The accompaniments were also a little on the cold side. The waitress was lovely, but very busy and there was a little wait after finishing to pay and leave. Over all a little underwhelming for a meal we was looking forward to as a birthday treat.

Unexpectedly excellent. I tend to avoid national chains like these after previously bad experiences, but the food tonight was excellent. Being presented with a chunk of iceberg lettuce about 10 minutes before the meals arrived was a bit weird but everything else was superb. Update. We've since been back several times and enjoyed our food very much. We were back again this week and although I'd ordered my lamb to be served pink, it came well-done. I didn't intend to flag it up as it was still delicious but when the waiter asked if everything was okay, I mentioned the overcooked lamb. Joe, one of the managers, immediately came and apologised and offered to bring me a replacement meal or a free pudding but I told him that it wasn't necessary. On receiving the bill at the end of the evening the cost of the lamb had been removed and they even deducted the cost of my beer! Excellent service and it means that we will continue to dine here. Leonie is a particularly excellent member of the serving staff. The only negative point I can mention is that there is virtually no phone signal here and the WiFi sign-in is very complex and requires too much personal information for me to want to sign in.

Our last visit did not meet the usual standard we have become accustomed to when visiting this restaurant. My pint had a large head on it and was not a full pint. The Valentine’s menu which we specifically went for had at least 4 substitution on, so we had to change our choices after already choosing what we wanted before leaving home. The incorrect main meals were brough to the table initially - it appears they were not cooked incorrectly; they were someone else's meals intended for a different table. When our correct main courses arrived, they had been waiting around as they were not as hot as we would expect - luke warm at best. The ribeye steaks we both had were not particularly great for a premium 50 day mature variety, I understand steak is a natural product but the marbling and flavour wasn't what I would expect for something of the price being charged.

Everything was perfect, had a lovely time. Nothing needed improvement

We had the Valentines menu and the food was superb. They were very helpful with a slight change on a drink option. Only slight downside was part of chocolate brownie was quite hard and chewy. Like it had been reheated for too long. All tasted great though. Lovely service from Leona

The food and service was fantastic. Even for Valentine's day they said over 450 people would be coming through the doors. We got our table on time 18:30 and waited around 15-20 minutes between each dish, which for a busy night you can't complain. However the menu layout for the set menu wasn't great. The staff didn't really know how the two sharer dishes worked in with the fixed menu fix. I asked for a manager however they tried to example it and I think we all got more confused. Why would you put a two sharer dish on a fixed menu if it's not included in the fixed menu price? I understand the extra prices for the steaks which were stated just do that next time please for the sharer dishes. Due to this I didn't wanna risk getting charged a load more extra and I missed out on trying a seasonal dish - Salted Cameral Cookie Pie.

This evening I brought my partner for her birthday to M&C Rothley. Our host, Joe, and our Server, Santino, were exceptional. Joe ensured my partner had a wonderful end to her birthday, with a surprise birthday plate at the end of the evening. Santino was fantastic and attentive, we couldn’t fault him, even ending the night by getting the doors for us on the way out. Cannot fault the team, fantastic evening, cannot wait to come back.

It was very busy - but there were enough staff to ensure good service and our waiter was attentive, friendly and helpful. The food, as always, was delicious.

Had client meeting there, my first time at a Millers, very nice but not over the top. Great service by the young lady was superb, food brilliant, well cooked and presented, decent amount, good all around experience, will certainly go again...my new "go to" steak house.

We had a lovely evening at the Miller and Carter in Rothley. We ordered the Sirloin steak and the camembert starter. Our waitress Leona was very friendly and attentive. The food cooked by Mollie was delicious. Thank you very much to both of you, we had a very special anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Had a wonderfull meal here, staff were friendly and food was amazing. The only thing I didnt like was the Male and female shared toilets, they were very unfit for purpose due to wet seat and floors then to be walking.back into a food eating area with wet toilet roll stuck.to your foot 😣
