Miller & Carter Poulton-le-Fylde in Wyre

Poulton : My husband was on crutches after a knee replacement but was not offered by the greeter a table on the same level ( there were some) but managed to navigate some steps. Not a massive issue but could have been for others. The entrance and car park looks a bit dank, dark and uninviting, I missed the entrance initially and then thought it was closed down. Most Miller and carter's I have been to are nice buildings. Inside was a bit dated n chairs a bit grubby. Our server Lee howevery was lovely and attentive and took note of our daughters allergy to onions. Starters n Steaks were very nice (although the lobster tail was tiny) and service was good. Probably won't be back. There are plenty other nice restaurants in the area. It's pricey but if its good food and nice atmosphere we don't mind this. This place only hit one of the two.

Quite simply the best steak I've had in a restaurant since 2017 . Aged well and cooked exactly as requested. Service is excellent and attentive. One little issue (missing side dishes) quickly resolved. Excellent wine menu but limited beer options... however, if you are here for the beer, you are in the wrong place. Don't expect it to be cheap - you are paying for quality. My son had the burger, and he said it's the best burger he has ever had. Loved the lettuce wedges and the mushrooms, too. Ah, don't take our word for it. Try it yourself. Sorry , no pics, I was just enjoying it too much.

Starters and mains were amazing. I had the biscoff torte for desert and felt that let it down slightly on the food. There was no raspberry sorbet or passion fruit coulis- and the raspberries were mouldy in 3 out of the 4 fresh raspberries. Our server Lee was fantastic- very polite and conscientious. Nothing was too much trouble and he was a lovely server to have.

Really nice lunch, price was really reasonable, food was warm, tasty and didn’t have wait long. Lee was our server and was very prompt, polite and inviting. Thanks for a lovely meal! :-)

Lee took great care of us he was very attentive without being obtrusive. Food was excellent the only slight issue was a child on a tablet full volume marred the experience a little.

Took advantage of their lunch set price menu, Mon - Fri, 12 till 5. Our server was Lee, table booked for Wed @ 4pm. The place is huge and we were virtually on our own apart from one other couple, so the place lacked atmosphere. We were swiftly seated on their tired, worn, stained seats, Wetherspoons style, (and they have the audacity to ask you to be smartly dressed). Lee took our order and the drinks soon followed, no drip mats provided so condensation off your glass drips down your shirt! Our food arrived and I must say it was delicious, 2 courses at £17.95 each you can’t really go wrong. We enjoyed the food. With drinks our bill came to £39.80 and then I left a tip, I didn’t mean to leave a tip but I pressed the wrong button on the card machine! Too late, gone through now, so tread carefully when you pay or you might make my mistake and pay more than you bargained for.

Natalie was an absolute star from start to finish. Friendly, knowledgeable, and effortlessly attentive, she struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality. She guided us through the menu with enthusiasm and made fantastic recommendations—her suggestion for the ribeye was spot on, and it was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Throughout the evening, Natalie anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Drinks were never empty, the pace of the meal was perfect, and her positive energy elevated the whole dining experience. She made us feel like we were the most important table in the restaurant, which is a rare and wonderful feeling. If you’re looking for top-tier steak and service that goes above and beyond, this is the place—and be sure to ask for Natalie. She’s an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to come back!

I enjoyed my latest visit to M&C. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar before our meal, finding the cocktails very reasonably priced. The food was served to the usual high standard . I opted for the pork belly and scallop start and a 12oz ribeye for the main with peppercorn sauce. My only negative was the steak was quite a bit under ‘medium’ cooked for my liking but I did still enjoy it.

Lee was a very friendly relaxed but efficient waiter.

Ordered pork tomahawk. Waited about 20 mins, came to the table, tried it, and it was tough, so I sent it back. The second one came, and the texture was perfect except that it was very 🧂 salty. So would not order tomahawk again yuck.

The food was really good a little pricey, the service by Lee was brilliant, some parts of the building looked tired and in need of a refresh/ paint, half the curtain rails and curtains missing for example, overall good

Sorry to say but 2 steaks out of our party of 8 had to be sent back !. One was full of gristle which the waiter didn't charge us for ! The other you could have chewed all day and still not got anywhere. Luckily my wife and I had Seabass and that was excellent.

Lovely experience as usual...Lee served us today and pre warned us rump steak can be tough if well cooked, my mum said it was lovely as usual. Had a lovely girl with blonde hair two weeks prior she was dead chatty and was working today too. We find all the staff very friendly and helpful

Meal was amazing and had really good advice and service by Holly. We’ve been a few times before but this for me personally was my favourite. The beef dripping gravy was off the scale.. much better than my go to peppercorn 😂😂 Just loved tonight. Thanks all.

We went early to take advantage of the early bird menu. Lee was our steak expert and he did a fantastic job of making recommendations for us. The early bird menu was excellent value, especially when you could ‘upgrade’ to a steak. Our food was exceptional and, as always, the steak perfectly cooked.

Absolutely delicious food as always , Lee was our waiter again tonight , and as previously he was absolutely brilliant . Always happy when Lee is serving us, we had an issue with a wobbly table and spilled a drink which was sorted quickly and efficiently. Only one negative …. It was Valentines and understandably busy , however I felt the tables in our area were way too crammed together . Literally only a foot or so space between tables and felt far too close to the people at the next table .

From the start dirty cutlery on very cheap napkins, the steak was chewy and luke warm as was the tomato, sauce and onion. The chips where amazing and the service was great. A little attention to detail would make this high end restaurant alot more high end better value napkins, polished cutlery, not being able to hear waiters conversations about the night before and hot food... not much to ask....

Really nice place with a nice atmosphere for valentines night. Was clearly busy but lee our server had all the tables under control and was never flustered. My recent visit to Miller & Carter was a truly delightful experience, albeit with one minor drawback. From the moment I stepped in, the ambience was inviting, and the tantalising aroma of perfectly cooked steak filled the air. The food itself was, without a doubt, exceptional. Each dish was cooked to perfection, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs. The steak, in particular, was melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavour. It was clear that meticulous attention to detail had been paid to every aspect of the meal. Adding to the positive experience was the outstanding service I received from Lee. His knowledge of the menu was truly impressive. When I had questions about certain dishes, he answered them with confidence and enthusiasm, offering helpful suggestions and demonstrating a genuine passion for the food they serve. He was attentive and friendly, making sure I had everything I needed throughout the meal. However, there was one slight issue that detracted slightly from the overall experience. While the seating initially appeared fine, as the restaurant became busier, the narrow passage between the tables became a bit of a bottleneck. Throughout the evening, I was nudged a few times by waiters navigating the tight space while serving other customers or allowing past food porters carrying dishes. While I understand that this is sometimes unavoidable in a busy restaurant, it did disrupt the flow of my meal and made me feel a little less relaxed. Perhaps a slight reconfiguration of the seating layout could alleviate this issue in the future. Despite this minor seating inconvenience, my overall experience at Miller & Carter was overwhelmingly positive. The exceptional food and the fantastic service, especially from Lee, made it a memorable dining experience. I would certainly recommend Miller & Carter to anyone looking for a high-quality steakhouse experience, and I look forward to returning in the future.
