If I could give these more than 5 star i genuinely would! Absolutely amazing food the staff are so friendly and go above and beyond for their customers! First time there and we will be definitely returning the food was delicious and the cocktails are just unreal! Thank you to all the staff for going above and beyond for us❤️

Food was cold chips freezing there wasn't 8 Oz of meat more like 4,slow service, very dark, father of 101 years said sun was i n his eyes could we sit somewhere else and was told we don't have blinds.Wasnt told there is an automatic tip on the bill . When we declined to pay the tip we were questioned quite abruptly.The meat dispite the small amount was delicious Won't be hurrying back .Very average for the price

Visits for a birthday. Waited 30 minutes for order to be taken. The “restaurant” was messy and staff clearly hassled. The food was poor. Would t go back.

My family and I visited on 28/02/25 to celebrate two birthdays. We were quite a large group and booked a table quite late in the evening but we didn't feel at all rushed. We had brought in cake and balloons ahead of time and the balloons were kindly set out on our table for our arrival. We had an absolutely brilliant time! We've all talked about this night many times since our visit. There isn't a single thing we can fault as everything was amazing, including the staff, the food and the drinks! All of our servers were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and full of flavour and the atmosphere had us all in a fabulous mood. A few of us got the sharing platter, and oh my goodness the amount of flavour is unreal! Highly recommend, but come hungry or make sure you take any leftovers home as they taste great even reheated the next day. The frickles are also one of our favourite dishes and are so moreish! Thank you so much to the whole team at Hickory's for making the evening so special for us and especially our two birthday girls. We also really appreciated the complimentary round of shots on the house to help us celebrate! All of us have been to Hickory's previously (and always thoroughly enjoyed it!) but this night definitely knocked it out of the ballpark. We can't wait to come back!

First time visiting. Our 8 year wedding anniversary. Excellent in every way! Staff are a credit to the restaurant. Very informative regarding the smoke house menu and their own smoke house! Best anniversary meal in a while . They went above and beyond!! Highly recommend!!

We came for the first yesterday for my brother’s baby gender reveal and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and the staff make such a high effort. I shared the 2 person platter and the meat was really tender and juicy. Would 100% recommend!

The atmosphere and food was first class and James' our server deserves a special mention for his super attitude and unfailing humour. Will be back soon.

American southern BBQ food, so a lot of meat! The staff were genuinely welcoming and pleasant, we're very fast with drinks & orders. The food was brilliant if you enjoy BBQ meats the selection you can't really get anywhere else as with some of the drinks root beer floats & grape sodas, a unique dining experience, 10/10 would go again.

Fantastic We had the Smokehouse Platter which includes; Texas-style, well marbled, grain-fed beef brisket Memphis-style baby back ribs BBQ baby back ribs Smoked pork, jalapeño & cheese sausage Barbecue hand-pulled pork with BBQ pit beans Eight-hour smoked Jacob's ladder Bourbon glazed slow-smoked chicken wings With skin-on fries, cornbread, house slaw, pickles & Tennessee bourbon gravy. Additionally a side of Cajun Onion Rings. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for looking after us.

Went in as a group of 6, expecting small portion sizes like reviews say but all of us were too full to finish! Great food, very friendly staff - a meal was missed off the order but once we mentioned it, they sorted it straight away and even took it off the bill which was very kind of them to do & greatly appreciated. Cant fault anything thank you to all the staff! Drinks were amazing too!! Will definitely be back to try more cocktails Only 4/5 for atmosphere just because we were sat under the speaker which was a bit static sounding

Celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday at Hickory’s. We couldn’t have been better looked after, they even allowed her to go and mix her own cocktail, under instruction of course! 😂. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and attentive! We will definitely be eating here again.

We went for a special occasion was well worth the money I would highly recommend the chicken goujon maple syrup waffle and the chocolate fudge cake we will definitely back.

We visited a few times before, as a table of 7, we had a great time, the vibe was amazing! All of the staff were great, the manager Graham (I think) was amazing!

Heard a LOT about this place, however the long awaited smoked brisket was not worth the wait or price it was a small portion even for a " black Angus beef cut" I'm sure in the kitchen it's kept to a temperature however once it's travelled to your table its borderline luke warm. The onion rings are best being avoided for the price they are disappointing they are HUGE but unfortunately taste of nothing not even the onion inside has taste. The fries here are also not very good along with the "fro-co" just a tub of frozen custard tastes how you would think definitely not as good as the usual ice cream dessert you get anywhere else. The kids hot dog is just a big plain hot dog ideal for young children who are picky about sauce, and the hickorys hot dog is great its smoked pork with jalapeño and cheese topped with mustard, crispy onion and a kind of sweet & sour ketchup. The drinks we Ordered were very good a kids strawberry milkshake, a regular chocolate milkshake and a cloudy lemonade. In all the menu seems hit and miss the brisket was around £20 and wasn't great but the hickorys hot dog £10 was great.

Table of 10 on a Saturday night. The place was buzzing, great atmosphere. The server was friendly and attentive. Starters were ok. I had the pork tacos. They were too soggy for me, so I wouldn't eat again. Pretzel bites were better. Mains. All cooked well, nice flavours. I had hotdog n chips. The Cobb salad was a bit limp, kinda expected a nice corn on the cob. Onions rings were cooked nice. Few had puddings, and they came out nicea 👍 all in all a great place.

Absolutely loved this place. From the moment I entered, the staff were super attentive, even suggesting they seat me next to a phone socket as they noticed I had my laptop. Food was delicious. I felt well looked after. Loved the vibe, Hard Rock Cafe vibe but with country music. Made you feel good!

Very loud children make it a place not to go with the wife for a meal, food pricey and overcooked however the manager was great and took the brisket off the bill, wont be going back, sorry

We were super impressed by the friendly and attentive service we received while stopping by for Sunday breakfast. Mark was a fantastic host and saw that we had brought flowers for friends so seated us in a lovely booth as we were celebrating something. Food was great, the service was excellent and the setting is just what Thornton needs 👏 we’ll be back when in the area 😊

Me, my wife & son visited on the 10th of January 2025 (wife's birthday) all the staff were friendly and very helpful when it came to ordering. I opted for the Beef Rib & was not dissapointed. The meat literally fell off the bone, perfectly seasoned. I'd recommend this restaurant/chain to all my friends and family (we occasionally visited Hickory's in Chester) so glad they have one in Lancashire now.

Our first visit but it won’t be our last! Excellent food, it is on the expensive side BUT it’s quality rather than quantity for the meat portions. My husband selected the brisket £20.99 for his main & we did think the portion size would be bigger. He did say the brisket “melted in his mouth” so it was tasty. Such interesting decor! When we finished our meal we sat in the drinks side, it had 2 televisions with sport on. The staff were fantastic! The atmosphere is fab we would definitely visit again!

Me and my family decided to come for tea over the Christmas period, unfortunately we were deeply disappointed. The food was tasteless and extremely over priced. My family and I found the restaurant music to loud as much as they were happy to move us it was at the other side of the restaurant and near the back doors, it was very cold and raining. We decided to stay on the table we were placed. The staff were OK but didn't really give us any insight of what the food was like, other then it was all deep fried and had the option of having hot sauce. My chicken burger was not southern fried it was deep fried in batter. Very chewy and had no taste. My husband had a hot dog, it was tasteless and full of fried onions that was not optional. My son had a child's hot dog, this meal was the only one that was OK. However, very over priced. The staff, were OK but didn't look professional. For them to automatically put a £3.49 tip charge on top of the bill did not impress us. I did ask for this to be removed. Unfortunately me and my family will not be going back.

Went here for the first time ever on 21st December for dads Birthday (he was the one who didn't want to be sung to). This place serves amazing food,the staff are super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is chilled and relaxed even on a busy night, we got to enjoy a few hours of great food, good company and no mobiles. We completely lost track of time. We will be back 😁

We have been to quite a few Hickorys over the years and many times to our local Thornton one. Food is always awesome, however tonight the onion rings, which we always have, were the best we have had, and I wish the Festive Turkey burger was a year round fixture as it was superb. The staff are always great and accommodating and it's just a great atmosphere. It was my daughters birthday and she wasn't expecting the fiery candle and Happy Birthday song. So Thanks to all.

The food and atmosphere are second to none. The Brisket falls apart and virtually melts in your mouth. We have never been disappointed with the quality or quantity, and we can truly recommend a visit. The atmosphere is always vibrant, and the members of staff always upbeat.

First time going for a meal with friends. The small touches make your experience rememberable, fresh cold water in glass bottle served on the table. Pop corn 🍿 in little tubs. Movie/cinema room, There are too parts that I noticed. Pub like area as you walk in with a bar and then to the right is the restaurant area. Spacious, not feeling like I'm sat on someone else's lap. The staff were all accommodating and welcoming. The food is unbelievable, beautiful and fresh! For 7 of us all had starter main and dessert with drinks cost us £230 Around £30 each! BARGAIN

Food was amazing but staff were stressed and they were really spread thin for how much of a busy evening it was. When asking for things I felt like I was being inconvenient because they seemed put out and overwhelmed so I think they should leave condiments out for self helping.

Love the food here its my sons fave place the little cinema room is a fab bonus . Of course the food is in the middle with price we tend to go on special occasions but thdy do make it special on a birthday little birthday board and a happy birthday board with a little treat after you have eaten . Theres a lunch menu which is fab too for if your on a smaller budget .

First trip out to Hickory's and was really impressed by the layout and atmosphere. Beautiful restaurant and the service was excellent. Great parking, friendly staff and the decor was in true American rustic style. But unfortunately it all changed when the food arrived. The food tasted great but the portion sizes of the meat were small.First up were the chicken Tacos and corn dogs. 3 small Tacos and 3 small corndogs. Certainly not worth the price at all ,but ok ok....we were ready for the mains....and when they arrived i was really disappointed. The smoked beef rib was big but wasnt full of meat. One side was quite thick and then it got smaller and was virtually bone from the halfway point to the other side of the rib. £24.99? No ways! Then came the Texas style Brisket at £20.99...2 chunky but small pieces of meat that i finished so quickly it was rediculous. Lovely tasting " American" food but definitely NOT American sizes! Memphis syle full ribs at £24.99....wife enjoyed those and left 3 because they were very tangy...not because she was full. She told me she could of easily finished them . Sizzling Fajitas at £17.25...sons gf enjoyed those. All in all a very good experience but the meat portions were small. Unfortunately i doubt we will be back . Quite expensive , great tasting, but ...Where's the meat?

Excellent service nice setting and my brisket was excellent but my partners burger was luke warm as was the corn chip starter. Also the wooden “plate” looked like it had been pulled out of a bonfire half burnt and whilst I’m sure it was perfectly cleaned visually it adds nothing to the meal and keeping your food on it was very difficult.

Visited this with family (including 2 small children). Good selection of BBQ specialities and a Children's menu. Particularly liked the cinema room showing childrens films which occupied childeren with a shorter attention span than the adults. Staff were attentive and food was served quickly. There was a service charge added to the bill, but of only 7.5% which seemed very low considering other establishments. Certainly worth twice that!

The theming is fantastic you feel like you're in America, The food was really tasty and the staff were really nice, There was live music and a really good atmosphere, Graham who I believe is either a manager or team leader was great at visiting each table and spending time with guests, downsides was the steak doesn't come with peas, the cocktail menu is not clear says two for £12 doesn't mention they have to be the same cocktail but they sorted this and gave us the other cocktail complimentary, I had no fork with main had to go searching for a staff member, and at the end after we paid we noticed on the receipt a tip is automatically applied on the bill, over £6 which was unexpected. BUT overall a good night, we had a lovely surprise with an anniversary board with a donut 🍩. Definitely worth a visit ❤️🇺🇸

What can I say about hickory’s Thornton except wow what a place! My fiancé , my son and I came for an early lunch today and from arriving to the most beautiful American decor , music and delicious smell of BBQ to leaving extremely full but wanting to return as soon as possible we are so impressed! My fiancé was doing a video on our visit today and he was able to see behind the scenes in the kitchen where he met the amazing Darryl who preps and smokes all of the meats to create the incredible dishes at hickory’s , I was also invited behind the bar with Reece the bartender who let me create my own milkshake the hickory’s way using so many tasty ingredients (sorry about the sherbet again😂). Hannah and Stewart who looked after us today are a credit to hickory’s , constantly on there feet and making sure that the place runs smoothly , nothing is too much of an ask and we felt so comfortable asking them anything like for sauces to be swapped out for others and adjustments made to the dishes to take things off. Hannah was so knowledgeable about every dish and helped us out when we wanted to know more or about what she recommended from the menu! Thankyou , Thankyou and Thankyou again from myself and my family , I have never had food or service so brilliant in my life and we will return very soon to the little slice of America in the UK🇺🇸🇺🇸

**Update** Have just been back for Breakfast and it wasn't that great I'm afraid to say, so downgraded to a 3* now. My date had pancakes with strawberries and it looked like roadkill, and tasted very Mehhhhh, is all we could say. Panicked super thick and bland, like a cake almost. The only highlight was the delicious FroCo (frozen custard). I had the XXL muffin stack, which looked huge in the picture, but in reality no bigger than a Macca's one. Again just mehhhh. The only highlight was the magic dusted tater tots, nice. Photos attached for reference. Service still about the same, but as they'd just opened I got a bit of that 'just woken up' vibe from the young staff. Also, they seasonally change the menus so didn't have what I'd gone for, the French Toast which is heavenly. Real let down today really. **Previous review: Wow, the Burnt bacon ends in Bourbon sauce were stunning. So we're the battered Gherkins, yum. Fajitas also great. The only letdown was my friends Bird and Beast Burger, the chicken was lovely but the beef burger part tasted like something out of a freezer from Iceland. Shouldn't be served it's that poor. Didn't ruin the night though, good service and a great meal overall

No pictures as we just got stuck in. The hostess fitted us in before the table was booked out again as they was full. We had the sharing platter for 2 and the burger. Food came quick and was hot and tasty. The burger was the best he had in a while my freind said. The platter was delicious and we added some hot sauces to compliment the meal. Would recommend

Superb American style food everything in super size and that truly American Hickory Barbecue taste and flavours.

We came over to Blackpool to see friends and they took us here for a bite to eat. Got to say we loved it. Staff were friendly and helpful, we were able to get a sample taster of the Brisket which was a nice idea as it made our mind up on having it. Food didn't take long but was amazing, with the side dishes and starter (which we asked to all arrive at the same) we had our taste bubs spoilt. Great food, sauces, and drinks. Now we are back home. We are now looking to go again to one over our way. Would easily go back again.

Authentic. Mouthwatering. Flavourful. If I had to sum up my trip in 3 words, that would be it. That platter for 2 is no joke. It was seemingly never-ending, and each individual component complemented each other perfectly. Our server was Matt and he was very friendly and polite, very quick with service. A lady walked us through the platter when it came to the table explaining each bit and what it goes well with. They did miss plating the brisket, and even though it took less than a minute to grab it they cut a bit more for the trouble! Perfect service, unreal food and quality that demands a second visit. 100% recommend trying it yourself.

Always have a good meal there. Food is always incredible. It was Saturday night so service was a bit more slow and less personalised than usual (understandable). We had a good time. Drinks were fantastic as well.
