Miller & Carter in Nottingham

Fantastic meal with superb service. Aneta was an excellent waitress and treated us really well. We will most definitely come again.

We tried to go here a month ago, drove 45 mins and got there just before 10pm, only to be told that the kitchen was closed despite closing time being 11pm. It was a Friday night and there were plenty of empty tables.

Aneta our waiter was amazing and made us feel very welcome! The food was amazing and very filling! Our food was made by Genno very lovely food! Me and my sister had an amazing birthday that ended by a plate of dessert! Thank you very much Miller and Carter for a lovely day out!

Ate here last night - whilst acknowledging it was a Friday and they were moderately busy (but not completely full,) unfortunately there were a number of issues. Firstly, the waiter just would not give us enough time to look at menus - from the moment we sat down we were hounded for drinks orders - I hadn't even found the drinks menu yet! Then when we asked for more time she was back within a minute to ask again and stood over us until we decided. We had unfortunately just been involved in a minor car crash outside and just needed a moment! We had gone ahead from the other part of our group out of *courtesy* so we weren't late to our table. When all of our group were seated and had yet again needed to ask for a moment more to select food because yet again they had quite literally just sat down and were not given a chance to look at a menu, the waiter then disappeared for about 30 minutes. This pattern of over and under-attentiveness continued throughout the night with food and drinks orders. We eventually managed to order 2x 12oz ribeyes and 1 chateaubriand and waited. And waited. And then the wedge salad came out a good 15 minutes before the rest of our meal. It was now 8pm, we had arrived at 6.45. so we ate the salads because we were starving and waited. And waited. The bowls were cleared away with no apology or explanation for where the rest of our meal was. The worst part though. When the meals eventually arrived the chateaubriand was *burnt*. A £70 medium-rare steak and it came out crunchy, crispy, tasting-of-carbon, burnt?! In what world is that ok...? It being already kind of a fraught evening we just paid and left, but I was severely disappointed in the whole experience of what was supposed to be a rare (ha ha) treat. Although clean enough, the bathrooms were also run down with broken fittings and hand dryers that didn't work. The atmosphere was fairly lively, but I was sat under a speaker so often struggled to hear the waitress speak. Overall, I really just can't recommend this restaurant.

Had the best experience here. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and our server Amar was so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be booking again.

First time dining here did some research into the menu before arrival managed to get a table for mothers day thanks to a cancellation, must say very impressed from start to Finnish the service was top notch from the bar staff to Jake our server who gave excellent customer service throughout the food was some of the best I have had in a long time credit to the kitchen team we will definitely come back to try some other courses thankyou for making out day special

Just finishing our meal at M&C Wollaton & it was lovely. This is our 3rd visit when coming to see our son at Uni & usually it’s a great experience. Unfortunately when we arrived the lady on Reception, blonde hair & glasses, wasn’t very welcoming at all which was a shame as when we’ve been previously she was lovely. I appreciate it’s a busy Friday night but a smile isn’t that difficult, we felt like an inconvenience. The experience was made up though by our Waiter Zikora, what a lovely young man. Very attentive, helpful & friendly, a credit to M&C. Food as usual was lovely. Will be back ☺️

Although a little loud out server very kindly has the speaker turned down. We were with my elderly father in law so couldn't hear us so really kind of them to do. Steak was good and service great. Steak expert was Anneta and chef was Genna

A solid experience but room for improvement. Food and atmosphere were good but on a chilly night it wasn't nice to be sat near the door that didn't close properly so almost constant breeze. Service wise, it's the same I've had in two M&C locations, I don't know what their staff training says but they're all a little bit too much in terms of energy and loudness. Not TGI level but certainly not matching the ambiance the rest of the place exudes. Also we had some dine out voucher cards and the server just asked if we'd like to pay with those and never actually showed us our bill. So we left not really knowing if it was correct or if any extras were added. Felt a bit odd and unsettling.

Had an amazing 30th birthday, the service by Myles was incredible, nothing was too much trouble, got a lovely birthday plate, my mum was cheeky and hinted for an onion loaf which he happily brought without even asking! Will defiantly return, he is a credit to your team! And I hope he gets something for this review!!

Table booked early, mid week, Wednesday 26th March 17.30 Been before and was well impressed, this time not so much so. Special occasion, wife's birthday and wasn't impressed at all. Usually for special occasions there is something complimentary, server did ask but absolutely nothing. My Dining Out Card was on the table and the server, Myles, came over and said do you want me to take it off your card and off he went with it, not even producing a bill, I had to ask for that afterwards, AND didn't return my card. Definitely won't be returning if it's anything but a basic meal, special occasions are out the window. On a plus side the food was good although we sat by the pass and there is a lot of food being sat there for quite some time

This is a great place to eat if you want a really nice steak. The service has always been good when I've been there for a meal and drinks. The desserts are delicious too.

What a great restaurant, thanks to our server Zikora who was exceptional and despite being incredibly busy with a slight wait for food we had a great evening, the food was delicious and there was plenty to go around.

It was a relatively quiet Monday evening celebrating a family birthday. As always the food was beautifully prepared and presented, the atmosphere was warm and inclusive. Our server Zikora had the best smile EVER and was extremely personable - thank you 😀

Went Saturday eve, even though really busy, was very organised. Service was amazing, thanks to Alex and Matthew , all delivered in timely manner. We had an incredible dining experience at Miller & Carter and a big part of that was thanks to Zikora, From the moment we sat down, he was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He ensured our drinks were always full, and checked in just the right amount—never intrusive but always there when we needed something. The food was delicious, but the outstanding service made the experience even better. Zikora truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Zikora went above and beyond to make my mother’s birthday special, surprising her with a beautifully presented brownie, a candle, and a plate decorated with “Happy Birthday.” She was absolutely delighted, and it made the evening even more memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending to friends.Thank you for a fantastic evening

This was our first long awaited visit to a Miller &Carter and the venue at Wollaton did not disappoint. Upon walking into the venue we were greeted and shown to our table. The atmosphere was nice, busy but not hectic. The decor was modern and when the lights were dimmed later on in the evening added to the atmosphere. Drinks order was taken along with food at the table and both arrived at a reasonable time ( not too quick or long for the food ). We had a mixture of steaks and the sea bass and was all cooked beautifully & tasted equally as good. We also had desert which again was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The waiter Alex was attentive but not over bearing and explained to us, when asked, about ringing the bell to show appreciation to the kitchen staff which we all thought was a really good idea ( of cause we rang it upon leaving). A lovely evening with good food/wine & atmosphere. A big thank you to Alex & Andreea the grill chef. We will definitely be returning 👍🏻🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔

Staff are very polite and friendly, the inside is immaculate (not that the outside isn’t as well) the lighting is gorgeous making you feel warm and cosy. £110 for two drinks, starter and main course food, steak was cooked with perfection. Very happy and left a £10 tip for the waiter. Thank you

Do not recommend!!! Service was horrible and slow. We were super excited to give this place a try but when we arrived there was no waitstaff to bring us to our seat. Asked how long it would take and they said to wait there and I’ll find out with a horrible attitude. The restaurant was more than half empty. This should not happen. Immediately left, do not see myself seating through the attitude or ever giving this place another chance. I would also like to point out I’ve lived in Nottingham for three years and this is the first time something like this has ever happened to me anywhere.

Fantastic meal out with colleagues whilst working in Nottingham. The food was excellent, the staff were really helpful and friendly. Probably better for a romantic meal rather than work, but definitely worth a visit. Definitely book online first - it was busy when we went.
