Down here on holiday and thought we would have a Chinese on our last day, the food was bland, the pancake rolls were dry and deep fried never had that before, the curry was so spicy that was the only thing that had taste

Disappointing takeaway. Ribs were tough and prawn toast had little taste. The duck pancakes were ok, but came with raw white onion and huge slices of cucumber- no finesse there.

The worst Chinese we have EVER witnessed. Truly disgusting. The ‘sweet & sour’ sauce was watery and tasted of dishwater. Overcooked tinned ham or spam in the special chop suey. It was all so repugnant that we felt ill. The rice was the least bad dish and that was barely passable.

i had this food as an Saturday night takeaway and i ordered “honey chicken” i was really looking forward to it but when it came it tasted like a gone off Terrys chocolate orange. i know it sounds silly but it is not a joke 😂 It clearly had orange flavouring in it or something because i did definitely not order “honey chicken”!!!

Ordered vegetable rice, king prawns HK style, chips, beef Cantonese style. Rice had no taste at all, so bland and only veg in it was bean sprouts! The beef Cantonese was sent wrong and actually sent as beef with ginger & spring onion which was dry as a bone massive chunks of ginger & completely inedible. Chips ok but dry. Only item that was nice was king prawns and only other positive was our order was ready on time. So disappointing.

As a lover of Chinese food, I can say this was not great. We spend over £70 and wish I’d just gone to Tesco’s and bought something else. Meat was very dry and chewy, sauce was more of a thick goo dumped on to of dishes, rice was dry and prawn crackers soft and stale. All in all very tasteless !!! Then to top it off today (day after) three people spending day sat on toilet (don’t need to describe further), and another up all night being sick. Not great !!!

On Tuesday 25th May, we popped in to Ilfracombe as we fancied a takeaway, as we wanted to pop down to the harbour, I asked for a menu so we could decide what we wanted. We popped back about a hour later and the owner told me it would be 10 minutes for the set meal for 3. We got back to the caravan and really enjoyed our meal, it was well worth the money and would come back here again

We are on holiday from Nottingham, wanted a take away, to be honest after reading reviews we were apprehensive and the place doesn’t look the most upmarket; however the Duck and pancakes was fab with the best Hoi sin sauce we have had, the chow Mein excellent and the Kung Po prawns huge and crispy. All in all at £21 what more could you ask for, fantastic, thank you.

Ordered soup, chicken curry and egg fried rice, 10 mile round trip, got home and discovered I had a chicken omelette not a chicken curry, rang up and asked the guy on the counter to read my order back to me, he confirmed I had ordered a curry, owner said he would swap it if I did another 10 mile round trip, asked if they would send in a taxi and they refused. I have used this take away almost weekly for the last 20+ years, because of his lack of customer service I will be taking my business elsewhere and will never step foot inside the place again. He has lost a regular customer but didn’t seem to care.

As a frequent consumer of chinese take away this is without question the worst food I have sampled. Prawn toast with pranws and burnt. Egg fried rice - not freshly cooked, one possoble piece of egg. Hot & Sour soup out of a tin - liquid MSG. Sweet & Sour chicken balls: the chicken was edible but the sauce is simply orange MSG, nor pineapple, no pepper. Adding insult to injury, the prices are crazily high even if the food could be edible. Even the prawn crackers were the cheapest, most brittle bag of fat flavoured crumbs.

Millenium House has been our go-to Chinese takeaway for quite a while now. The food has improved dramatically over the years, unsure why, but it has resulted in my tucking into a box of hot and spicy ribs at least once a week. Menu is fairly standard and packed full of choice. Like most who frequent such an establishment I have my favourites and seldom venture into the more exotic parts of the menu. That said, if you have a simple palette and stick to the classics you aren't going to be disappointed. The takeaway itself is unapologetically 'high street' but t's not like you have to eat off the floor. The 'cash only' requirement is positively neanderthal but locals are always prepared. I can echo the sentiments of other reviewers who have experienced missing items in large orders; it happens a little too frequently and can be tricky to resolve. Overall, a reliable little establishment with decent food... relax if it's not perfect, I don't think it's meant to be.

Called to tell them about this and didn't even get an apology. I quote what they said to us 'Oh right Ill tell the cook'. I paused on the line for a few moments to see if there was going to be an apology - but there wasn't. Shocking. Will avoid this place in the future...

This was their last chance for us. Repeatedly we have got home to find a dish missing and can’t usually be bothered to phone them. Tonight it was a main dish that was missing, and having spent over eighty pounds for a family celebration, I phoned to let them know. The response was dismissive-definitely not their fault, it wasn’t on the list. When we drove back to collect it I was met with attitude, and charged. Not our idea of customer service. We’ll be finding a different takeaway from now on.

This wasn't our first choice but the other Chinese takeaways in town are shut on a Tuesday so we decided that Millenium House was better than nothing and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and we all enjoyed our dishes. The prawn toasts were a little over cooked but apart from that all was good. Chinese and other Asian dishes available from this TAKEAWAY. Vey good varied menu and reasonably priced. The food was very tasty and looked clean and fresh. Enjoyed it all the dishes we ordered a lot. Only drawback was that we were staying 3 miles out of town and the taxi would have charged £10 for delivery. We collected it ourselves and it was well worth it. Ribs were very tender and slipped off the bone, the chicken pieces were succulent and tender. Shanghai chicken was delicious and spicy. Once we had the food and got back to accommodation very little was eaten, duck curry's were not very flavoursome and all the special dishes the meat was really tough and dry particularly the pork, Prawns were rubbery and the chicken tasted like it was boiled and added last as it had no flavour of the rest if the dish.
