Often use this bar for dinner when in town on business. Good choice of dishes, catering mainly to the American taste, by no means a bad thing, excellent burgers, pizzas and grills. compared to the Art Street Kitchen, the bar is fantastic. Located in the Double Tree Hotel. Twice we wanted to eat supper at the hotel. To be honest the evening menu at the Art St. Kitchen was not something we were interested in. I knew the hotel had the Millbank Lounge. Although I was not comfortable with the Lounge idea, after discussing with the front desk, we decided to give it a try. Very, Very pleased. It is not like a bar. It did have a bar over to the side. The rest was really a relaxing restaurant. We ate there both nights. Food was great. We had fish & chips (Best we had in London) and hamburgers the next night. Service, Staff, Food, and Manager WONDERFUL.

Since I stayed at the DoubleTree Westminister I found myself eating at this restaurant several times during my 8 day stay. After a day of sightseeing and walking sometimes i was just too tired to leave the hotel and walk to another restaurant. The food was good and not too expensive. Unless you are staying in the hotel that this restaurant is in, there is no reason to visit it. For a hotel guest, it is convenient, with good food, friendly staff, and a relaxed ambiance. It is popular with other guests and sometimes crowded, but never to the point where you can't get a table. Since it is self-seating, be sure to flag a waiter down for service. There is a full bar and menu that, despite a huge variety, should work for just about anyone. No complaints here- the staff is accommodating and knowledgeable about their products. For hotel guests, it is only an elevator ride away. I recommend the pasta areibiata- much better than I expected. Also, there a some limitations; there are no pickles or grated Parmesan cheese, etc. Some of the little things just aren't there, so you'll have to work around it.

Whilst staying at the DoubleTree, I went to have a drink with a friend. It took a long time to get the waitress' attention and when she finally came, we placed the order. It took a long time to get the drinks. In fact, I could see them languishing on the bar. She gave us the wrong drinks. Actually one drink was completely wrong and the other drink was given to the wrong person. After another long wait, the drinks arrived. Both were 90% ice! We'd had enough and wanted the check. I finally had to chase her through the bar to get the bill. There was a large boorish party that monopolized their time, but that's really no excuse.

The food was okay but not as good as it should be in a good hotel. The service was spotty as it was hard to find our waiter a few times when we needed her--the worst part was after a long absence we asked the manager where she was and he said she is on dinner break! Really?--at the height of the busy dinner hour? Dinner took nearly two hours when it could have and should have taken considerably less time.

My fiance and I had a quick little lunch/snack here before catching our train to Leeds. We were in a bit of a rush and wish we could have lingered longer. However, it was still amazing! I ordered yet another latte (when in the UK, right?) and it came in a pretty, glass mug with a dunk-able piece of their signature Doubletree cookie on the side. My fiance decided it was time for a beer - they had a great selection. We shared the chicken flatbread and wished that we had each ordered our own. Seriously. My fiance can be a bit of a pizza/flatbread snob and he couldn't stop talking about how good theirs was. We were also surprised by their team with a bowl of sweet potato fries. Want to talk about amazing? Best I've ever had! Ate the entire bowl and felt no shame. We realized we were running late to catch our cab to the train station and the lovely lady taking care of us rushed around to find foil and a bag so we could take our lunch with us. Couldn't have been better!

I won't speak to the food because we come here for just dessert. This lounge served the BEST Sticky toffee pudding in town- it was so good we would often dine with guests and return to hotel to have sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We got a call from a friend (one of many who kept the habit) to tell us it was no longer on the menu. I for one thought it had to have been replaced with something better- NO.The most basic English dessert that they served and prepared well had been taken off the menu only to be replaced with NOTHING decent/ traditional. The service here has never been great (as usual hot chocolate was warm chocolate) but the sticky toffee pudding was worth it. I was told by the manager it was likely taken off the menu because they got a new Sous chef last October- who cares? If it is not broken, don't fix it OR if you can't improve on it, don't mess with it. I will say, the lady at the bar makes a good latte- hence the 2- service is everything.Bring back the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING.

Located on the second floor of the Hilton Doubletree Westminster, the Millbank Lounge is a great spot for a light lunch. The menu has a bit of everything and the chairs and tables are quite comfortable. The north side of the room has large floor to ceiling window which allows in plenty of natural light and a view of buildings across the street. I ordered the steak baguette and quite enjoyed it. While I would appreciated a little more meat it was very tender, the baguette fresh and crispy and served with a spiced up mayonnaise. We had been to the Hotel before for a travelzoo experience so decided that we would see if they had space for Christmas Dinner. I have to say it was wonderful to go out and not cook. All was good. The food was lovey. the soup was delicious and then the dinner with all the trimmings was lovely and enough on the plate. We decided not to have desert here as we had Christmas pudding and cake at home. The staff were fantastic and attentive and it was a lovely area to have dinner in. The Doubletree doesn't have a formal dinner room so dining is in the Millbank lounge bar. The options are fairly extensive so catering for most peoples choices I would say. While the food was a good standard I would certainly say that it's on the high side. I guess the location of the hotel and London pricing generally means you expect to pay more but still it's excessive in my view. The MBL beef burger was £16.95 plus an extra £1.00 each for cheese or bacon. A bottle of beer being £6.85 then an optional 12.5% service charge added to the bill. My personal view is you tip for good/exceptional service, short of collecting the food yourself from the pass how else will it arrive at your table!! Being helpful, pleasant and friendly should be the norm for a paying customer. I guess the easiest option is just wonder out and find a local bar/restaurant as there are plenty to choose from around the local area.

A nice modernised and spacious restaurant with bar located in the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel Westminster. Decor is clean and simple. View from the main window is only the street and buildings opposite being located on the first floor.Food menu is a little limiting in terms of choice but enough of a selection to fill the basic range of dishes. Drinks menu is more fulfilling and takes up more pages in the menu with a great range of cocktails and specials. All the food sampled by us was of a decent quality and taste, fresh and presented well. A few of the dishes do seem a little pricier and even in London you could eat similar dishes for a little less.As expected from a Hilton establishment the staff are extremely attentive and helpful.I wouldn't travel here especially to eat, but as a guest of the hotel - as I expect most diners will be - it's a great place to relax and drink knowing you are minutes from your bed.

Usually hotel bars are pretty desolate, I have stayed in a lot of Hiltons and was surprised by how comfortable the Milbank lounge was. We spent xmas day here and ended up pushing a few tables together around the xmas tree to open our presents. This was no problem for the staff, we had fairly good food, professional service and a laid-back atmosphere. The food, except for the nachos, was good, especially the mixed platter which was worth the approx 20 pounds. The mulled wine was nice and strong, they had New Zealand wine at a reasonable price and it all felt pretty reasonable. Other people agreed as it got fairly busy in the evening despite the hotel itself feeling pretty quiet. I would suggest if you dont want room service and the executive lounge doesnt offer enough, that a meal at the Milbank Lounge isnt a bad idea.

Living almost 4hrs away, I don't get to visit London often, so when I do, I make a full weekend out of it and book 'special' things, one of them being Afternoon Tea. We arrived at The Hilton, which was in the Pimlico area of London, and was directed upstairs by reception. We arrived at the restaurant and I immediately recognized that the room we were dining in did not match the photos of the afternoon tea lounge that was on the internet. Instant disappointment there. The waiter came and asked us which afternoon tea we liked - we just asked for the basic, however no option of different tea's were provided, we were just given English Breakfast. Shortly after the afternoon tea came and honestly, I wasn't blown away. We arrived at The Hilton, which was in the Pimlico area of London and was directed upstairs by reception. We arrived at the restaurant and I immediately recognized that the room we were dining in did not match the photos of the afternoon tea lounge that was on the internet. Instant disappointment there. We were then led to the back of the restaurant in the corner where there laid 3 small tables. We were seated at the middle table, with 2 couples either side of us, in very close proximity. I immediately felt like this was too close for comfort and deflation hit even more. We could hear conversations from either side and felt so exposed and uncomfortable. The windows were floor to ceiling, and I was facing the window whereas Mike was facing the restaurant. I had a lovely view - of building work which was right outside the window on the building across the road. I'm sure I read somewhere that the actual lounge we were meant to be in offered panoramic views? I know construction work on another building is out of The Hilton's hands, but it really did effect the whole experience. I thought the whole idea of afternoon tea was to have an intimate and unique experience. This was far from it.A waiter arrived and asked what tea we wanted without even being provided with a menu, neither did he explain what tea's they had to offer - it took us to ask what they had available. The afternoon tea arrived shortly afterwards and honestly, the quality of the food wasn't anything special. I found the fillings in the sandwiches to be fairly sparse, and the desserts were mediocre. We were given profiteroles, scones, a small carrot/ginger(?) cake and a banoffee pie. Half way through our tea, both the couples had (thankfully) left, so we were by ourselves. I happened to glance over to each table and notice that both had left the remains of the same dessert - the banoffee pie. I tried mine and I too had to leave it, it wasn't for my taste palette at all. I am hoping The Hilton notice a pattern with the leftovers and consider adapting their menu a little! I've had a lot of afternoon teas in my time so I have a lot of experience to be able to compare, and overall this was not a great experience, sorry Hilton! Maybe if we were situated somewhere else in the restaurant my views would have been slightly most positive but unfortunately being crammed into a corner with others being at arms length was not my idea of luxury. Its frustrating because I know London is Queen Bee when it comes to afternoon tea, and yet the 2 times I've managed to experience it there, they've both been poor locations, and yet I know there are so many more much better locations. Next time... next time!

Food was good - but be prepared, service is not the same as you would receive in the US, and remember that everything is priced in pounds, not dollars.

Although the service is outstanding, the prices are ridiculous! You can eat and drink in some of Londons top venues for cheaper than this place? How an hotel can justify this ridiculous price list is beyond me?

Really great staff, good menu, but limited vegetarian, only two dishes. The usual, salad or pasta. Surely chefs can come up with something more for vegetarians, but even on airlines ( business class) it's pasta !

정말 조용하고 깔끔하며, 소파는 매우 부드러웠습니다. 다만 안내가 부족하여 처음 사용할때는 매우 머뭇거리게 만들었으며 웨이터는 터문히없이 부족했다.

The staff and chefs at this hotel need to try harder to make people with dietary requirements feel just as important as everyone else. Having bought a Pink Afternoon tea voucher from Amazon Local for a treat with friends we were very disappointed with the whole experience.Having booked the table for 4 in early July and then calling a week before to add dietary requirements of a Vegetarian and a gluten free vegetarian, to find there was no table booked should have maybe been an indication of how the experience would go.On arrival we confirmed the dietary requirements and were shown to a nice table, that wobbled pretty badly, we were then served 4 glasses of Champagne (not pink as we had booked, no explanation was given why this happened). The afternoon tea arrived on the stands, all the cakes contained gluten, and the Gluten free vegetarian sandwiches consisted of 3 white bread sandwiches with a very sparse filling of roasted pepper inside. The vegetarian was served 4 sandwiches one very thinly spread cream cheese, with a slice of cucumber, egg, and 2 with roasted pepper, this is not at all inventive and was very disappointing. We asked about the the gluten free cakes and the server returned with what looked like shop bought chocolate brownies and 2 Bakewell tarts fresh out of the silver wrapper! An afternoon tea is incomplete without a scone, so we asked about a gluten free one, to be told there wasn't any. We had to ask to order our tea, and when it arrived we had to wait to get the attention of a server to bring milk and sugar. We asked to speak to the manager who did tried to rectify the situation, however the experience has already been spoilt, he did kindly agreed to give us a cocktail as a way of apology. A server then appeared with a scone for our gluten free guest and understandably she was concerned to eat it as we had been told there wasn't any. The manager did confirm with the kitchen that there had been a mistake and it was in fact a gluten free scone. The kitchen also sent up a smoothie and some fruit for the table, i assume as another way of apology, however what was supposed to be a treat turned into a disappointment. There are many recipes and things available these days for people with gluten free and vegetarian dietary requirements and maybe educating the kitchen on this will ensure no other customer is made to feel like they are being difficult. On a positive note, although the service wasn't as attentive as i would have expected our two guests that had no dietary requirements did enjoy their selection of sandwiches and cakes.

We had a pleasant drink in the bar after our not so good stay in the hotel, the staff were very nice and helpful which was refreshing. drink a little over priced- but the bar has nice ambient lighting which enhances the experience. It has very trendy decor and nice clean toilet area.

Typically hotel food does not do it for us but there was NOWHERE else open at 10:45 on a Friday night after the Theater so we had to eat at Millbank and it was pretty darn good. We shared a Caesar Salad and a Club Sandwich. The flavors were very good - the romaine fresh and crisp even that late at night. The fries were super yummy (guess because it was so late). We liked the energy in the room - often times hotel bars are dreary and empty, but Millbank was happening and it was a nice visit.

Service could be improved a lot. We waited 5 to 10 minutes to get a menu while staff interacted with each other. My hamburger was great, but I only ordered it because there was nothing else on the menu that appealed.

My partner and I received a gift voucher for the Milbank Lounge afternoon tea and were thoroughly looking forward to it. The setting itself is quiet corporate but we didn't let that put us off. We booked about a month in advance and made staff aware that I had a gluten intolerance - we were told they offered a gluten free option and even reminded staff of this on our arrival. When we were presented with our afternoon tea it was clear this was not gluten free. Only when asked did the waiter inform us he "had forgotten to tell the kitchen" but promised the gluten free alternative would be with us within 10minutes. 20minutes later a tiny plate of stale stingy sandwiches turned up. They did not look appetizing. It was clear the wait was based upon the defrosting time scale as opposed to preparation. My partner had to ask for the gluten free pastries which again showed up stale and aneamic-looking. The general afternoon tea was just as bad. Everything seemed to have a "here's one I made earlier" feel about it - earlier being either a week ago or what had just been defrosted in a microwave. Safe to say we drank our tea (which had unlimited refills) and scarpered. All options seemed to revolve around flavourless cream and nothing quintessentially British which is what you would expect with an afternoon tea experience in London. We are glad we didn't waste our own money on what can only be described as a very dire experience - save your money and go elsewhere!

The menu choice is fairly small, but the food, I had a steak, was very nice. All the staff were friendly which feeds through from the hotel it is attached to, where the staff there are also very nice.

This is the real let down with. this hotel. The rest of the hotel is very good, but badly let down by the Millbank Lounge. The hotel is in a quiet area and needs a good restaurant and bar, it fails on both counts miserably! No childrens menu and limited overpriced choice for adults. 2 cokes(warm) and a hot chocolate, £11.35 and then they wanted to add 10% service even though I ordered them at the bar myself! Doubletree you need to sort it out as it lets down an otherwise good quality hotel.

Myself and husband booked experience day Shard/afternoon tea for my birthday. This is the 1st time to right a review on return day......! Shard good value unlike the afternoon tea. This is quite possibly the most disgusting afternoon tea we've had.(& most expensive)!!!!!!!We were looking forward to some delicious food!!!! How wrong were we when it arrived on a wooden block that resembled a bottom draw!!!!! The smallest sandwich ever was so dry I felt very hard to swallow. The scone came plain we asked the waitress if there was fruit ones instead, she looked at us in dismay!!!!! The very small type m&s pink shell type macaroons were awfull along with the so called rest of food. Can honestly say max £5 worth of food per couple!!!!!! We have so been RIPPED OFF ......don't bother I'm so furious how this restaurant can serve up such very poor food.I expected so much more from a hilton hotel...............! I was going to try hilton in Manchester but feel now put off!!!!!!..

This place has a great menu. Loved the 'fish of the day' with the most beautifully done char grilled vegetables. Had it several times already. The restaurant staff couldn't have been more pleasant. We'll definitely eat there again.

An easy walk from Tate Britain brought us here for our champagne tea. Afternoon teas must be the growth area in the catering world but I find most of them, this included, are too biased toward sweet products, I would of been pleased to swop a couple of cakes for some savoury cheese biscuits for example. There was a good selection of teas on offer and the service was friendly and efficient. The outlook will be improved when the local building work has finished.

Tried ringing to make a reservation for Friday evening and the phone just rang out with no answerphone. Turned up at the restaurant and it was all shuttered up with no notice indicating prolonged Xmas holidays or anything. Presumed closed for business.

Huzzah.

It doesn't look much from the outside but it's value all the way when you are in! I don't know what he'll do when the station is finished, there's a constant stream of blokes from there. Banging breakfast and excellent value, just what you want when you see what most hotels offer these days. Spot on caff.
