Definitely a different afternoon tea - in a good way. If you want beautiful garden surroundings, peaceful countryside, personal attention, fresh home made produce then this is for you. First time we've had afternoon tea without scones! But it made a nice change as the other cakes and pastries more than made up. Would have loved a few more of the savouries. Well worth a visit.

We visited on a lovely sunny afternoon the day before our wedding anniversary and husband’s birthday and the location made it a lovely afternoon out. Living in the Lincolnshire fens I love the Wolds and Mill Cottage did not disappoint with its superb location and it is the the most wonderful spot for afternoon tea. Fabulous gardens with nooks and crannies and hidden treasures. Jo and Andrew were wonderful hosts and we stayed far longer than we should have done chatting to them. Tea was superb with just the right amount of food, lovely savouries and cakes and Jo was happy to provide all sandwiches on wholemeal bread for us. Tea was plentiful and not restricted to just one pot. All in all we had a lovely time, one that I will treasure in my memories.

What a delightful setting for afternoon tea. We were welcomed into beautifully kept gardens with quirky twists and turns, overlooking the wonderful Lincolnshire countryside. The afternoon tea itself was perfection. Unlimited tea and coffee. The freshest sandwiches with moreish fillings, crisp ‘pastry’ tarts, fluffy scones and the most DIVINE lemon and lime posset. A host that was so welcoming, warm, attentive and incredibly talented. We left happy and full and will definitely be making a return visit. Thankyou Mill Cottage!

We came for afternoon tea for my friend’s special birthday - and what a treat!! Jo, at short notice, welcomed us into her wonderful garden and made it a real birthday treat. We had a wander around the gardens first, amazed at all the lovely twists and turns, hidden seating areas, clever planting and imaginative designs. We then went inside and had the most delicious food - all homemade - and all ‘different’. From the tasty cucumber with minted butter sandwiches to the pastry tarts that weren’t pastry!! Jo gave us as much time and space as we wished, yet was also very happy to spend time to chat with us too. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and will definitely be coming back!!

I took my daughter, son in law and son for afternoon tea at Mill Cottage Gardens today. We had a super warm welcome and excellent home made food. The scones, both sweet and savoury were delicious. There were plenty of delicate sandwiches and cakes served on very pretty china with endless tea and coffee. Our hosts left us to enjoy our meal togethet but popped in regularly to check if we needed anything The gardens are superb and we were welcome to wander around and look at the displays. I would heartily recommend a visit.

A stunning hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. I went with my sister, daughter and mum as a Mother’s Day gift for afternoon tea and we had a simply wonderful time. When booking, we selected the French Room which looks out onto open fields. The food was delicious, with lots of local ingredients, and we were stuffed by the end! Once we had eaten, we had chance to wander around the beautifully kept gardens and enjoy the sunshine. It is certainly the nicest place I have had afternoon tea and we look forward to returning again. Five stars!

Firstly I would like to thank Jo for being so accommodating from the outset. When I mentioned one of the guests was vegetarian it was no problem at all. When we arrived we were greeted by Jo and taken into the woodlands area. It did get quite chilly but they offered to move us inside and provided blankets. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. The garden was beautiful too and a perfect setting for afternoon tea. Highly recommend

I took my two friends here for afternoon tea and we had the loveliest experience! The gardens were absolutely beautiful and so well looked after, it was the most tranquil setting for our tea and lovely to hear the birds singing around us. We were seated in the Woodlands area, when it got slightly chilly Jo was so accommodating and checked whether we would like to go inside. We loved the setting so much that we were happy with blankets. The food itself was so fresh and delicious, they certainly don’t scrimp on what they offer you! They cater perfectly for veggies - there’s a whole separate menu, which was much appreciated. If you can’t eat it all, they package it up nicely to take home. Overall, we had a perfect afternoon at Mill Cottage Gardens - Jo was so friendly and inviting, food was delicious and the garden was truly beautiful. Can’t wait to return when the weather warms up!

Me and a friend had the most wonderful afternoon tea at Mill Cottage Gardens. We sat in the French Room which was a beautiful little private room at the bottom of Mill Cottage Gardens. Jo the owner was so welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. The food was incredible, I was worried that maybe the price wouldn't be worth it (£30 per person), but after our experience there, I wouldn't hesitate spending that again! There was so much amazing food and they packaged any leftovers up for you to take home. You also have free entry to walk around the incredible garden after your meal, and there were plenty of places to sit and enjoy a cuppa. Highly recommend, definitely going back!

We had an amazing Afternoon Tea at Mill Cottage Gardens! The cake selection was brilliant and it was lovely looking around the garden afterwards. It was my friends Birthday so I paid a little extra and they surprised her with a homemade cake which we took home with us. Such a great afternoon out, definitely worth a visit.

This is my favourite place to get a hot chocolate from. And the young man elliot who occasionally works has an exceptional work ethic, the best hot chocolate maker in the whole of Cirencester!

Having enjoyed Gareth's food when he was at Winteringham Fields, we were keen to visit his own restaurant...suffice to say we were not disappointed....serving Michelin level fine dining in a cool, relaxed atmosphere with terrific staff....and great value for money...sure to be back soon

Visited for the first time since they moved to the new premises and was not disappointed. Still the best homemade gelato and deserts we have become accustomed to. The coffee is excellent. The owners Darren and Sandra took time to have a chat and the waitress was extremely polite, attentive and helpful. It can be a risk moving premises, but it seems it has paid off, as there was constant foot fall in the shop. Louth is really lucky to have a place of this quality and it epitomises the boom the market town of Louth is experiencing. Highly recommended.
