Auction House in East Lindsey

Having enjoyed Gareth's food when he was at Winteringham Fields, we were keen to visit his own restaurant...suffice to say we were not disappointed....serving Michelin level fine dining in a cool, relaxed atmosphere with terrific staff....and great value for money...sure to be back soon

Auction house Louth we went on Saturday with friends, absolutely gorgeous the food the atmosphere the staff all amazing, they couldn’t do enough for you, the four of us recommend it’s a must go, will be going again very soon, Thank you to Gareth and his lovely team .

This restaurant has new owners and the food is outstanding. It's beautifully prepared and presented and the portion size is perfect. I have eaten in many hotels and restaurants in the UK and abroad and am often served a huge dish of overcooked, over seasoned food, where quantity is valued more than quality. I live locally and when in town, this will be the only place I will use. Outstanding. Very knowledgeable staff who know the menu and wine list (which has an interesting mixture) very well. Absolutely worth a visit. Like me, I'm sure it will become a favourite.

Amazing, this is the place to be if you have an appreciation of fine food, Gareth owner and chef really know his stuff, everything on your plate is perfectly matched.Myself and my husband had the chef’s selection it was a taste sensation.this is the second time visiting here since they opened and the menu was different which was nice to see, we will definitely be returning soon. If you haven’t been treat yourself you won’t regret it.

Once again, just a fabulous meal! Took some friends who had not been before and they were also super impressed with the food and service! Hugely recommend this place!

We visit the Auction House as often as we can, and we sometimes just pop in for a mid morning coffee, but usually for something to eat in the day. Tonight's visit was a long overdue date night. We sat upstairs which is perfectly cosy on a winters evening. I had a couple of cocktails, I only intended one but it was so delicious I had a second. My other half had a couple of pints of Kronenburg. Rachel, who is co-owner with her husband Dale who was the chef tonight, was as usual her warm and welcoming self and the girls serving us so friendly and helpful. We both had starters, I had the smoked salmon and ricotta roulade which was a perfect serving and so tasty. My partner had his usual baked feta with warm crusty bread, and again it was just amazing. Then mains, we both chose something we wouldn't usually have. I had the pan seared tuna with confit tomatoes, samphire, mixed veg and dressed new potatoes.... My partner had the gammon with chips, a field mushroom instead of the pineapple, egg, tomato and peas... And we were so happy we chose those dishes. The tuna was seared but moist, and the vegetables Al dente which is how they should be, the potatoes buttery. The gammon was a lovely thick chunk, and they kindly swapped the pineapple for a flat mushroom. Tonight's meal was cooked by Dale who did a super job, and he always does. We were so full after we couldn't manage one of the oh so tempting puddings sadly, although we have managed room on previous visits and can highly recommend them. Once again, a wonderful meal and great service. The only downside was the lack of pudding room.

I have only ever visited The Auction House at lunch time in the past, for a light lunch and coffee. It was always very tasty with a good atmosphere. Last night about 8 of us had an evening meal. It was delicious. Definitely 5 for the food. I also had a cocktail which was also very tasty. Everyone said their meal was delicious. Some went on to have a desert but I had a cappuccino which was also very well made. Sometimes the coffee can be disappointing after a lovely meal but not in this case. All in all, I was very impressed. It isn’t a huge restaurant and the 8 of us took up the downstairs area. My only complaint is I was a bit cold and had to keep my coat on for quite a while. The upstairs is cosier than the downstairs!

A friend and I visited the Auction House again, having not been for a short while, as it isn’t that local. As always the food was great, the service was fab and we had a lovely lunch. Highly recommended

Stumbled upon the Auction House while exploring Louth. The Earl Gray tea was good quality, albeit the Teapot was both cracked and chipped. The Mac n Cheese with BBQ Pulled Pork was good but lacking in Cheesyness and the BBQ pulled pork was chunks of pork plonked on top. The Latte and Breaded Chicken Bap were good. When we arrived the first table we sat at we were told was reserved but even when we left, the table was still not occupied, so we could have sat there anyway. Perhaps they need a system to show which tables are reserved, as several other diners had to move after being told that their table was reserved too. The ground floor is a little cramped for space - they have outside tables and an upstairs but it seemed only people who had reserved could go upstairs. The space between the tables was so small it felt like you were actually dining together! Whilst we were there they had several people come in and leave without actually ordering, with the table next to us leaving due to their order not being taken., even after being seated by the staff. With a few tweaks, this venue could be so much better.

Superb lunch. Stopped by when visiting Louth. Had piri piri prawns, salmon sag aloo, chunky chips and salad. Food was fresh, tasty jus with welcoming service. Would recommend dropping in!

While visiting a friend who had just moved to the town, we came here for a relaxing and informal lunch. Good job we had booked as it was very busy , with it also being market day. Once settled, we ordered cocktails and then a posh fish finger sandwich, and chicken sandwich. The food and drinks were excellent and no wonder it is so popular! Staff were great, friendly and on hand when another cocktail was needed!

Recommended by family who live nearby, we visited the Auction House for dinner. The restaurant is a little rustic but that is part of the charm. The service was friendly and welcoming and the food wonderful.. Good value for money - we would have no hesitation in returning and are happy to recommend.

Great food, attentive service and a lovey ambience. We had the prawns with flatbread and salmon sandwich as a light lunch and were very impressed. The downstairs is dog friendly too which was a bonus!

Staff are extremely helpful when i had a diabetic related problem. coffee here is amazing (although now they don’t have the vanilla syrup) food is always 10/10. best place for breakfast in louth 👏☕️

It’s been a while since I have visited the Auction House. Covid. Work and a number of other things have just got in the way! Decided today to head over for some lunch! It’s as bloody lovely and amazing as I remember. The service was fab. Good was amazing and they even did a little something for the pouch! I’ve missed visiting rhe Auction House and will return very soon!

Excellent service, excellent food. I couldn't recommend this quirky restaurant more. Super experience made special by all staff. We can't wait to go again.

Another lovely meal. Lunch this time and as usual choice of food and cooking excellent. I work my way through the Menus fo this wonderful restaurant and have not had any disappointments. Te Chef is amazing, giving his own twist on classical dishes, The staff are always polite and know the Menus inside out and able to answer any questions you may have, I don't need an excuse to eat here, Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch/Dinner I have visited for them all and have thoroughly enjoyed every meal. I can't recommend this Restaurant highly enough, and.............. Their coffee and cakes are just as delicious.

We both had the eggs benidict on this visit, and a cup of tea, really lovely food, great presentation. The service was amazing, fast, friendly but not over baring.

I’ve been to this location many times now and have always been made most welcome. Has a great vibe with fantastic food and service to match ! I had the porridge today and it was very tasty.

Amazing little place this turned out to be. Looks like a small cafe from the outside, however the place was warm, staff friendly and the food was beyond expectations. Would definitely return.

We met friends here for lunch whilst staying in Louth recently, the food was amazing, very good choice for vegetarians, we had a very nice time, the staff are very friendly and we would definitely visit again when next in the area.

Another visit to my favourite restaurant in Louth. I am never disappointed with the happy staff, delicious generous portions of food and very reasonable prices. Even their takaways were 100% delicious. I cannot praise this restaurant enough and am so pleased this Pandemic hasn't made...
