Milestone in Hinckley and Bosworth

There were three in our party. The food and service were good, and I appreciated the 30% discount. The only fault was the non-availability of pilau rice. I had chips as a substitute.

drinks were forgotten due to computer issues, wrong food delivered to table and what had been served was overcooked burnt and dry. If busy quality and service goes in the bin. Shame because the menu looked great.

Food could be a lot better with a bit more attention paid.

Ordered the Sunday roast. Asked will my roast come out like the picture. They said yes. When it came it was nothing like the picture on the menu, also took 5 mins to get gravy after I went to the bar to see where it was. When I asked about my roast they just said it's how it come out at the time. All I got veg wise was 1 small piece of broccoli and garden peas, which I don't eat peas. Yorkshire pudding that was that dried out it just snapped. Table spoon of mash. Very disappointed.

Very busy for a Monday, we were a party of 7. Very attentive staff, communication of a slight delay on food. Despite this everyone was calm and the food quality was great. Would recommend and return. Thanks

We had a nice Sunday lunch here, nicely cooked and plenty of it.

Not too bad for a quick bite bar area could be a lot warmer during a cold snap menus not bad and the service is becoming quicker

Management, please read and sort this issue out. It was our first visit of 2025 to your pub to find out you still have not sorted large circular tables out they are unstable and wobble unfit for purpose unless you want your drinks flying off the table or spilt. Your staff are aware of the issue but still seat guests at these tables and don't mention these issues until you are seated and lean on to read the menu. Stop doing this and replace them asap, and then it would make a great experience at your pub. We always get up and move tables once they sit us at these tables. SORT THE WOBBLY CIRCULAR TABLES!!!!!

Went for the first time ordered food from the bar and sat in the bar area the food was lovely but the service was so slow we waited nearly and hour for our food I understood they were really busy but I think they really need a couple of extra staff.Also the whole time we were ther our table wasn't cleared from the last customers and there was a young girl standing around seemingly doing nothing very disappointed with the service

We visit quite often and have always had a good experience. The food is reasonably priced and very good value. The staff are kind and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble.

Service and food were great this time. Toilets are awful, seats missing and generally not clean, cobwebs and grime in the corners. They need a good clean and a face-lift / refit.

We had an amazing experience today the service with a smile we couldn't ask more of the food was plentyful a little too much for my brother but better that way than the other, and me and my brother both agreed the pedigree was on par and went down a treat. Overall a great experience for all the family.

On popping into The Milestone with my daughter on the off chance there would be a table available, we got a very nice welcome from Amelia and I must say great service too. Food was good and tasty, I look forward to visiting again soon. Thanks for making a great lunchtime.

Been wanting to come to windmill pub as we call it for some time now as we always drive past but never have had the time to check it out. Firstly we booked and glad we did as when we arrived the place was full, we waited for about 5 minutes until a member of staff greeted us and took us to our table. The service was sadly really slow as only 3 staff working but they were plesent despite being overworked. Right down to the food, overall really nice, I had the Sunday roast and apart from needing a bit of salt it was lovley, I also could recommend the ultimate vegetarian burger but please next time no soggy lettuce as runed the bun lol Puddings was good, but like I said the service was slow so that was annoying. Would we come back...... yes but hopfully on a less busy day lol

Having frequented another eatery over the last few months we decided to go to the Milestone for a change of scenery and because we’d had a few poor experiences over the last few months. What an absolute pleasure it was the staff were amazing the food was incredible a great way to top the week off we’ll definitely be making the Milestone our go to place from now on

Went for Christmas Dinner and to start had to wait 40 minutes to get our table, enjoyed the started but the main meal was not very nice, turkey was dry as anything and the vegetables had no flavour whatsoever. We tried a different pub each year and this is not one I would like to go back to.

Revisiting isn't something I'll be doing again in a hurry. The customer complaint was not about the drinks. They charged full price for an ordered small portion. Attitude from receptionist was delivered with the amended bill.

Table booked for 2pm, arrived 1:55 not seated until 2:30 with no apology or explanation. No high chair despite request on online booking, had to find one and a kids menu, food arrived 3:05, desserts took 15 mins to arrive and £5.50 for the smallest sponge pudding that looked like it came from the kids menu. Servers were polite but looked stretched and overworked. Poor management overall.

Festive menu was enjoyed by all

Our visit to this establishment did not get off to a very good start, when my booking could not be found, the member of staff actually questioning my booking. After eventually finding my booking, which was for 3 people, we were advised that there were no tables of 4 available, so we were sat at a large round table for 7/8, table 26, apparently being the only table available. This table was right by a VERY draughty window which also suffered from a downdraught from upstairs. It was that cold that my daughter kept her outdoor coat on for the whole time and I eventually had to put my coat on, just to stay warm. My booking was for 19.45, we were served a round of drinks and then duly waited for someone to come to take our order, and wait we did, for around 20 minutes, by which time we had finished our 1st round of drinks, when a waitress came over and asked if we would like to order "more drinks". I expressed our wish to actually order our food before ordering more drinks. She took our food order and then our 2nd drinks order. Then once again we WAITED. While still waiting for our food order my son went to the bar and ordered "another" round of drinks. After a further 20 to 30 minutes two of the meals arrived, I had to tell my son and daughter to start without me, as I sat waiting for my meal. When it did arrive I was rather disappointed, the 2 sausages were "cooked to death" and were like 2 sticks of charcoal, the gammon was that dry it was almost inedible and came with a very luke warm fried egg, the "steak" was about the size of my thumb and was just a strip of grissle with a slither of meat attached. Hooray for the chicken and the chips. The peas, tomato and onion rings on all 3 dinners were stone cold, with ALL of us leaving them pushed to the side of the plates. We then sat and waited, yet again, for someone to come to clear our table so that I could advise our disappointment and begrudgingly request the bill. We waited that long that at 21.10, we actually got up to leave, my son and daughter left the establishment while I looked for an elusive member of staff to request to pay the bill, which was a total of £88.57, fortunately to soften the blow of a very poor experience and a well below standard array of food, I had a discount code which reduced the bill to £74.41. Which was £74.41 completely wasted, the overall service was appalling, taking over 2.5 hours, most of that time spent waiting for staff and then waiting a ridiculous amount of time for poor quality and cold food. Having been in catering myself for over 20 years to a very high standard, I would NEVER have sent out such substandard and cold food. In this time of recession I would have expected a far better quality and standard of food and a more fulfilling quantity, so as not to leave customer going away STILL HUNGRY. The absence of staff makes for a very unforgettable event. I await your earliest response with regards to the issue's I have stated above and also your intention with regards to reimbursement and compensation for the poor customer care and equally poor food.

Good food reasonably priced with great service

Good food, but appalling service due to lack of serving staff. Long wait at bar for drinks and food took an hour from order to serving.

Took my family out for my sons 2nd birthday and we all really enjoyed it, service was good thanks to the ladies that served our table. (Hoped they enjoyed the cake I left for them!) The staff were all lovely and the food was delicious everyone ate everything including my fussy 2 year old boy. As I'm a manager in a restaurant myself, I really appreciate the service and food and would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Thank you so much!

13 of us came for a pre-booked family festive lunch, service & food were outstanding! We were really looked after. Cannot fault the food, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their chosen meals. Value for money is incredible. We will definitely return. Thank you to all of the staff.

Deep clean required, considering a rebrand having wobbly tables with a dirty feel was disappointing. Food was okay but nowhere near as nice as Dobbies for the same price and kids eat free Vs £7 for just a main here.

The meal was okay nothing special and the service was a bit slow. All in one it is an okay place to eat or go out but nothing special about it.

1st visit for well over 2 years, this was due to a poor experience, After giving it another try, both Staff and food have greatly improved so we will be going back.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by happy freindly staff. We were taken to our table. We had never visited this pub before, it was suggested by a family member. Because of surgery I am only able to eat child meals. This was no problem. Our food was hot and surprisingly very tasty. Our waiter Tommy was absolutely amazing. Nothing was to much trouble very smiley. He did his job with ease. Will definitely go again.

Firstly I would like to say that I have been going to the Milestone Restaursnt for years, and have been happy with those visits. Then I got a dog, and now and again I like to ntake him with me, and so book in to the bar restaurant. The Milestone states that their policy is to encourage people with dogs, but i have stated in a previous survey that automatically you are made to feel second rate by not being admitted to the main restaurant. I have experience of some restsurants allow dogs in their main restaurant, albeit in a restricted area. Much better. The experience myself and a friend had this last time was awfull! I took my dog so we were shown to the bar restaurant. I picked up two menus from the bar and they were dirty and sticky, so i asked for them to be wiped. I also suggested that the rest were cleaned because I had failed to find a clean one! The first table we went to was not good for my dog to settle under as it was in a corner and it was a pedestal. We moved to another table which was wet and sticky, so my friend got a tissue and tried to clean it. The tissue was so grey and dirty thst we decided to try anothe table. The young lady on duty saw us snd came over to clean the table for us as it hadnt yet been done. When my friend touched the windowsill next to her, that also was sticky!! We ordered our food and when it came, mine was good but my friend found some plastic thread in hers and the a hair! Ugh! We called the young lady to take it back, which she did. When she returned from the kitchen, she told us that they had suggested that it was melted cheese. Did they think we were stupid. It was rigid not bendy, and a hair is a hair. The meal was replaced and i have to say the food was delicious. The expereience as a whole was unpleasant, and we saw that the manager was present, but he didn't bother to come over. Even in the bar area the standard of hygene should be upheld, there's no excuse for stickyness water rings on the tables. Sorry, but thats the truth.

Small portions, frozen chips. Very bland. But staff very nice, and place clean and tidy.

We had a table booked for 6pm. We’d ordered by around 20 past/ half past 6 and our mains didn’t come until 8pm. Unfortunately, one of our orders didn’t make it from the waiters order booklet onto their till (despite them reading it back to us at the end of the order). The missed order came at 8:27pm when the rest of us had nearly finished our meals. - no checking if we all had our meals whilst serving - we had to approach someone standing by the till and make them aware of the missed order - No asking if everything was okay with our meals - no apology for the order mistake The saving grace was we got the missed order for free (at our request, not theirs).

We booked a table 2 weeks ago with a dog when we got thair we had not got a table so after 10 minutes they brought us 2 chairs and put us in a corner at another table and left us we where waiting and waiting the staff was just walking by us as if we was not thair so in the end I got up and asked for a menu I took it back to the table and waited and waited in the end my husband got up and asked if we can order they said you have to go to the bar we was not told this so he went to the bar to order same again we waited and waited so in the end we walked out we was in thair an hour never again thair was also people with dogs waiting they couldn't have been told as well

Lovely Sunday roast - huge Yorkshire pudding!!!

My daughters and I went to see the Bon Jovi tribute act. Had a lovely evening enjoying the food and music. Lovely atmosphere and staff were friendly and cheerful. Great night out and we will be back to see another tribute act here.

Good for the reasonable price charged

Lovely service, friendly staff- great choice of food, Dog friendly, food was delicious for everyone. Even games for the grandkids to play . Than you Milestone for a perfect Sunday lunch.

Overall very good, however we were sat 20 mins before anyone came to our table to ask if we wanted drinks, by which time we had used the app to order food and drinks. As with every pub, not enough staff to care for the numbers of customers coming through the door. Those serving were run ragged.

The staff are always so friendly and the food is amazing, my favourite is the cowboy burger.

Service was awful, left waiting for dri ks after ordered another 20 minutes to wait to order meal then over half hour for desserts. Suggest you get the right staff in. Won't be coming back

I do D&D most Sundays and get some food before we start it’s always a good time and the food is always lovely recommend 100% amazing bar staff too!

Lovely staff, great food, value for money.

Usually a really good pitstop for dinner however I’d avoid the Sunday roast…. What a poor effort. Roast potatoes that were either burnt or undercooked and not even whole potatoes but pieces of potato, insipid gravy (thickened brown water with no taste), lucky if I got a tablespoon of mash, rubberised Yorkshire puddings, seasonal veg ( 2 small pieces of very aldente broccoli, large spoon of peas as hard as bullets to give illusion of a full plate, spoonful of red cabbage), extra side of roast potatoes ? Pffft think we were lucky to get 1 potato, again it was cut into pieces Ever so disappointing…..

My son said the doner kebab and fries was the best he ever tasted. The food and service was amazing, communication to us was absolutely correct for the time waiting for food. We will come again.

Lovely food, a classic Marston's with a lovely atmosphere. A strangely large number of doors around the place. Love the upstairs bit, the bar is nice and the food was splendid. Had surf and turf unfortunately the steak was mainly gristle very disappointing . £3.50 for three slices of garlic bread stater! It was a hot day and waiter was new so I didn’t have the heart to complain he was more than helpful. I’ll go back but not for steak.

Came in to have drink and food with wife,restaurant side was very nice,bartender was very moody,seemed she did not like her job and it was annoying asking her for a drink,food tho was realy good

Food and service really food value for money

Despite being busy, the waitress quickly came over to the entrance and welcomed us to our table. I had requested a quiet table near a window and we got a good table by the rear door of the restaurant. The waitress took our drinks order and recommended we order fairly quickly as there was a table of 12 about to order. Our food arrived well cooked, well presented and hot. The waitress service was impeccable despite her being busy. Although I didn’t get her name she was a young woman with long dark hair in a black dress with black ankle style trainers and she should be recommended.

Unfortunately the meal took nearly an hour to come out and we had to keep asking staff where it was. When one of the three meals finally arrived the steak was over done and like leather. On the plus side, the young male duty manager was very professional and polite. He quickly sorted the steak issue and gave us a reduced bill and complimentary drink accordingly. The actual food was very good though and the manager recovered the situation very well indeed. Our thanks to him and his colleagues who did their best and we left with a very positive impression.

Nice large pub with grounds, very polite and engaging staff. Regular offering of standard pub foods all arrived hot and together (6 orders). Nice outside area.
